This is the last store of its kind in the mall! But that doesn't mean it's not still a great store! I think there's a lot of reasons to stop by here! One of the biggest is back to school shopping for kids of all ages! (College even but maybe not as much!) I've always found the employees to be extremely nice and helpful! I've come in several times to pick up orders for my Grandma and they're always super fast! I think the selection and prices are GREAT! I think I always preferred this store over Macy's and Sears! (Which is probably why it's the last store standing! Overall I think this is a very necessary store to stay in business and it helps the mall somewhat! It's great for clothes shopping of any kind and has great helpful employees! I love this Penney's store. It seems most of the other stores in this mall have gone out of business. I'm so glad this one remains. The store is loaded with great bargains. It seems items are always on sale. Plus, they have great employees. They are always there to help. The store is clean and racks are loaded with items to look at. I took back a Christmas gift and had the receipt. I told the girl it was a gift. She couldn't scan the receipt so had to type in the information. I then asked her, will I get a gift card or cash in return? She replied I already put it on the card. The transaction is complete. When I asked why she did it that way she replied, you never said. Mind you, this girl is maybe 16. I was pretty disappointed to say the least. I would have gladly spent the $52 in the store but instead it goes back onto my 72 year old moms card. The Three River Mall is like a ghost town. It's barely hanging on. I know JC Penny is a name brand but customer service should be a priority. This is a teachable moment for this teenager. read more

Good they are closing cause they have a lousy customer sales clerk especially at their jewelry crap. My husband standing by the jewelry counter and he's ready but this sales lady was yapping on the phone can't even say I will be with you but NO just ignoring him and she keeps yapping on the phone what a looser good thing my husband went to Longview and it's better deal. JCPenny was the family favourite back in the day to ensure that my soon to be Irish immigrant arse didn't run about sans clothes. We would peruse the catalogue and pick out all sorts of groovy 1970's attire to wear here on holiday and take back home to the oohs and awes of my mates. A lot of things have changed since then. I now live on this side of the pond. I no longer rock the turtle necks and sweaters. I am no longer able to make the cool "zoomp zoomp" noises with my corduroy pants. The term "husky" is no longer a requirement on my clothes labels. As times, locales, and my personal style has drastically changed over the years, JCPenny had fallen off of my radar as an adult. Every once in a while, I would pop in for one of their gazillion sales, but never really find much that struck my fancy. Now in the era of the Internet and Wally World, JCPenny has abandoned the multitude of sales for a more strategic and easier on the consumer price structure known as "Everyday Pricing". I had read about it, but had yet to actually go in to our local store to check it out for myself. It took a road trip to Kelso, WA and our first visit to the Three Rivers Mall (sad, sad, dismal place) to finally see the new JCPenny. Clear, simple pricing with an impressive selection of women's clothes for all sizes, ages, and styles. My female mate was scoring all sorts of great deals at "Walmart prices" (and better in some cases), with much better quality. I am not exaggerating when I say that the women's clothing section is huge!! Many great deals to be had if women's wear is your thing. Some nice and trendy styles offered as well along with some items that would be suitable for the colour blind or those prone to dropping multi-coloured food upon themselves without wanting it detected easily. The men's selection is typical for a department store with a few deals to be had here and there, but overall, it would not pull me in as a regular, nor frequent customer. Lots of space between racks to give the illusion of a big section, but not much filling it. Friendly and attentive staff were easy to locate in this anchor store of a very dated and struggling shopping mall. So if women's clothes are your thing, check out JCPenny!! read more

I really liked the tops I ordered online but needed to return two of them. I packaged them carefully, tucked the invoice inside and taped the return label to the bag. When brought to the UPS store I learned that the address on the return label needed a street address. So I called the customer service rep and asked for help. She put me on hold, came back, and said I would need to mail the tops to two separate facilities, (Ohio and Kansas) because the items are from 2 separate places. HUH??? They were sent in one bag!!! So I guess I'll have to return them in person since I refuse to pay two separate return shipping charges. This is bizarre to say the least. It is too bad, because I prefer to buy online and the company sells some nice things. However I can't do that anymore. Has anyone experienced anything like this? read more
