1- They came (on time)... 2- They carried (a 1.5 bedroom apartment)... 3- They traveled (from Allston to Shrewsbury)... 4- They carried again... (to the third floor via stairs)... All it took was... 4 hours. That was my best moving experience. I didn't even flinched a finger. I was calculating my move to be somewhere around $600 but with these guys all it cost was $400 (with the tip). They were fast, they were through and they were nice on the stuff that they carried. They even gave me 20 mins free because they broke a small thing which wasn't really much of a deal. Next move - I will definitely call them. read more

Reservation, a breeze: Chris answered all of my questions via email promptly and quoted at cheaper than others. On time... early, even: Showed up with the truck a few minutes early and with 4 guys instead of 3, at the same price! (Piano = good discretion to call in another hand!) Speed, took less time than expected: Estimate was around 4 hrs with the drive, but they were done in 3.5, even with my huge, heavy items to maneuver around winding staircases (dresser, book cases, couch, piano, boxes, boxes, boxes, fragile glass paintings). Tetris masters: A piano went down one flight across town and up a flight and still is in pretty good tune! Nothing broken or damaged, and they were quick to take off doors at the new place to make move in fast. Nice to my stuff :) : They were awesome with my fragile electronics (tube amp!) and paintings (lots of glass) that I thought I would take myself, but didn't need to. They even offered to take apart a dresser and reassemble it that didn't fit up the 3rd floor stairs, but I ended up leaving on the 2nd. They also helped me reassemble my couch that I had disassembled myself prior to them showing up and couldn't get the bolts back in without help. This was a short distance move (2.5 mi within Camberville), but not short of difficulties I am so glad I didn't have to deal with myself. Chris and team (Matty, George, one more... so sorry if I get dudes' names wrong!) were all great, and I couldn't be more pleased with the $$ spent. Second time using Safe Responsible Movers and I am even a bigger fan and highly recommend. I had a big move and the guys worked very hard, the owner Chris, was very accommodating; didn't start the clock until all the guys arrived; brought a second truck at no additional charge because I had so much stuff. Just used these guys again for a move and it couldn't have gone better. Chris and his guys are professional and they are FAST. Unfortunately for them they had to load the truck in the pouring rain and I'm sure that sucked but they never once said a word. Chris asked all kinds of great questions about fragile stuff and if I wanted them to put certain things at the front (which I did). They wrapped my bed in my blankets (after they took it apart for me) and had all of my boxes loaded in to the truck in less than 45 minutes. We were only going down the street to storage and they had a great system when we got there. We were done in under 2 hours and the price was so reasonable I had to ask him to repeat it. I don't want to forget to mention that I just had surgery so I couldn't do the running around to get permits at city hall- this is service the offer- take them up on it. My friends didn't and they said it wasn't worth the hassle. Chris knows what he's doing, so just let him do it. I recommend these guys to all my friends and I will continue to do so. I had a great experience with Safe, Responsible Movers for my in-town move in Cambridge. My move was scheduled for the afternoon. Unfortunately, their morning move took longer than expected. As a result, they were a few hours late to my house. But they did several things to rectify the situation. First, they gave me constant updates on their status. Second, they sent extra movers to handle my move as fast as possible. Third, the movers handled themselves very professionally. They finished my entire move in under two hours. Finally, they gave me a 20% discount on the move to apologize for being late. Overall, I think that Safe, Responsible Movers did everything they could do to make my move as fast and painless as possible. Chris and his team have moved me a total of 4 times now and I couldn't be more pleased with their service. Each team member knows how to be useful on their own or with a partner to where not a minute of time is wasted. Small, quirky, windy building? These guys were amazing! My partner and I hired them to move us from Somerville to Dorchester; we had a 1,000 sqft apartment but a lot of random boxes and some really heavy furniture. I can't say enough good things about these guys, even with a little bit of a snag that got us started out several hours later than scheduled - they pulled through and got everything moved faster than I ever could have imagined. I had booked them for 9am and due to a broken down truck, followed by a breaking down of the replacement truck they got for me - we started just after lunch time. Chris was so apologetic about the situation, calling me with hourly updates and ultimately a discount due to the inconvenience. When the guys did arrive, they went right to work moving furniture and loading the truck. A quick ride from Woburn to Dedham and the truck was unloaded even faster. All of the guys on his crew were super awesome and rock stars (long hair and beards too!). I'm hoping to make another move in about a year from MA to RI. I've already decided to call them for it; I wouldn't want to to business with anyone else. Rates are super reasonable too, especially if you choose an off-peak day. (Edit: Just wanted to add an update as I had these guys move me again, this time from Dedham to Worcester in September 2016. Again, they exceeded expectations and had everything moved so efficiently and quickly I couldn't believe it. The 5-star rating is well deserved. We ended up with waaaaaaaay more boxes than we thought, and these guys were able to move all of it, plus some additional fragile (& heavy) items that we weren't sure they'd be able to take. They finished our move in 5 hours and were incredibly fast yet careful. Furniture was wrapped for safe transport. One lamp did not survive the trip (apparently due to a common problem with how the lamp was built), but they took care of it. Very professional & polite. Could not recommend them more if you're looking for movers -- not to mention it was very easy to book! read more

So, this is a long overdue post, we have used the services of SRM over the past 4 years and have had a move completed at least once each year. A selfish reason of not writing a review was that I did not want to share information for an awesome find. We have not had any issues with the 4 moves that we have made. They package all the items appropriately and move them with utmost care. I have made sure that I give them at least a 20% tip with each service and have sometimes wished I could afford more. We were so impressed with Safe Responsible Movers! Coming off of a bad experience with a different moving company, we were nervous to go through it all again. We are so lucky to have found SRM and would recommend them to any of our friends and family. Chris was quick to reply when I submitted my request for a quote and to confirm our date and time. Just used these guys for the first time yesterday and all I can say is...do the right thing. Chris called me to let me know they were running about 2 hours AHEAD of schedule, and would I be ready to move earlier. Hellz to the yes. They moved me and my boyfriend out of our respective apartments and into a new apartment, which is a 4th floor walk-up, in under 2 hours. In fact, we were completely moved into the new place by the time we were supposed to start moving originally. They were very accommodating, and even helped me dump some free furniture in the alley behind my apartment. Showed up right on time, charged us exactly what they quoted, and moved us in faster than I ever imaged 3 people could move two people's worth of crap. HIGHLY recommend. Plus, you braved the years-old soda from the storage unit vending machine...and for that, you'd earn an extra star if they had one on Yelp. Seriously, though--these guys know their stuff. They removed everything so quickly, and they didn't complain as they hiked it all the way to the very end of the storage unit, into a closet so cramped that Harry Potter's angry aunt wouldn't have put him in there. The dreaded move the weekend before and the weekend after September 1st was made better by on-time (they gave an arrival estimate and the day of called to let us know when they were en route), efficient, careful and professional movers. The movers said they only hire trusted friends in their moving crews. The instructions sent via email was comprehensive and helpful. Pricing was right at the lower end of their range of their estimate (partially because we had everything packed/wrapped/parking spot open when they arrived). Only complaint is that we emailed some instructions about parking and about getting a specific table up from the basement and it wasn't passed along to our crew but they were happy to do it. read more

The team of three moved our 2 bedroom condo apt in the city to the South Shore in a 21 foot van in the rain today while asking questions as needed, taking initiative when warranted, and remaining on task throughout. Money well spent! I contacted SRM yesterday and was fortunate that they were available because SO many people are moving right now in Boston (students returning and moving around). My daughter and her roommate are moving to a new place and had planned to do it themselves with a Uhaul an a couple of friends- do-able, but it would have been so much harder. SRM was incredibly responsive, very clear in the quote and what was offered, and we were able to confirm the whole thing within an hour and a half. They arrived on time today, were polite, respectful, really helpful, and super fast. There is a 2 hr minimum. It only took about an hour and 15 minutes to move everything out and into the new apartment, but even with the minimum, their rate was the cheapest of the quotes I received ( most places were booked) and as I said, it was definitely money well spent and my daughter and her roommate were really appreciative. Even though they are recent grads with not a big budget, they said they would definitely use professionals again for their next move. Thanks SRM! read more

These guys are the bomb. When they arrived I was wondering how they were going to handle everything because they honestly looked like random guys in a band. I was blown away at how happy I was with the way they handled everything, how hard they worked, how polite they were, etc. We were moving into an apartment on the 3rd floor with no elevator and they just pushed through it like champs and didn't complain one bit. Very quiet, humble, funny guys. It is very important to feel comfortable with random movers coming into your home especially if you are by yourself, and I never felt concerned. LOVE them. I got several quotes from other moving companies that seemed bit much for a short move (Milton to Dudley Square) Safe Responsible movers delicately moved my victrola, and the rest of my antiques with no problems. I moved yesterday with the help of Safe Responsible Movers and couldn't wait to provide them with positive feedback as soon as I received internet access. There were several reasons why I was extremely happy with their services but here are a few examples: 1) They arrived on time and in fact earlier than scheduled which fit into my plans for the day. 2) They came equipped and with tools to dismantle the bed frame and covered the TV's and valuables with cloth wrapping and tape. 3) I did a poor job packing glass wear and anticipated a few breaking, hopefully giving me an excuse to finally get matching sets, but they realized this and willingly put these containers on their laps in the front seats! 4) I had a grill that would not fit into the apartment and had not yet sold and they graciously allowed and helped me drop it off at a neighboring friends' home, without a fee. 5) When I tried to help, they politely told me, "Don't hurt yourself, this is why you hired movers". 6) They finished in the estimated time allotted even with a few hesitant re-positions of the couch, based on my part. In summary, they were friendly, reliable, and a bargain. I would highly recommend them to friends and family as well as the yelp community. read more

Never in my life would I think to reuse a moving company, however these guys are legit! Their name is not a false advert. Seriously love these guys and would recommend to anyone. I booked them based on their Yelp reviews and It was totally what the review stated --- awesome. I used them for a Friday morning move on August 8th. They were not only on time but they were so flexible with the move. There were other moving trucks at my building when they got here so the elevators were completely jammed, these guys were willing to use the stairs and didn't even fuss about it. Even said it would be faster! Love their attitudes. When we got to the other end of the move I didn't have my keys yet --- my condo closing was delayed and they were completely patient. Which was awesome considering how much stress I was already under. Once we got the key to move in they totally took the time to ask where everything went and even helped me move furniture around rooms to make sure it was where I wanted things to be. I couldn't have asked for a better moving experience. I like them so much I just emailed them today to ask for another quote to move my girlfriend into our new house. This was the first time I had ever used movers. My friends would likely disown me if I put them through another move. Chris and Aaron were the best movers I could have asked for. They had to push my move to later in the day to accommodate the move that had been postponed on a previous day due to the snow. Everything about my recent move with this great company, from getting a quote to moving day, has been smooth, efficient and skilled. My move date was delayed three times due to covid - new place couldn't be finished as planned, and they were very accommodating about changing the date (I let them know 7-10 days before, or more). The movers were right on time and moved me from JP to Roslindale in an amazing 2&1/2 hours. I had four + rooms of furniture and at least 30 boxes, etc. The three guys were friendly, professional and very careful with fragile items and furniture. Almost everything was wrapped, unless unnecessary. All items arrived safely and undamaged. My only caution and this only applies to procrastinators like me is don't count on additional time to pack last minute items, like the kitchen cabinets, once they show up - they're too fast. read more

This was the first time we hired movers and it was a fabulous experience. Cody and his team were on time and fabulously flexible! Upon arrival not one car had been moved for the permits and we were waiting on the police. Him and his team said they would be fine with the cars there. The police FINALLY showed up and Cody and the team said it would be fine if the cars stayed without batting an eye! So easy going! The team was calm, just as chatty as we were, and kept a great pace. I just moved into my new house on June 27th. I was a panicky first time home buyer. I had nightmares about all things going wrong (which some did) but thankfully not the move. I emailed Chris, sometime in May to schedule for an appointment. Not only were they the cheapest, they also had the best reviews. It was a no brainer. I kept emailing Chris to make sure they were still on, and he very patiently responded each time. On the day of the move, they were supposed to be there at 9am, I was up, ready and anxiously waiting. Chris and Dan, showed up at 8.59am and by 9.17 (I know, coz I looked) my bedroom was all loaded in the truck. They were gentle with the things that needed care and asked questions when in doubt. Somethings in my basement were in the wrong area, Dan gladly moved it all to the otherside, when I asked. And by 12.30 they were all done - dismantling furniture, loading van, driving to new house, unloading and putting furniture back together. Great beyond belief! When my husband and I moved from the fenway to the leather district I turned to Yelp for help in finding a moving company. After reading the reviews for Safe Responsible Movers I knew they were the right people for the job. I had high expectations and was worried about everything going smoothly with so many balls up in the air. Turns out, I need not have worried at all. Chris and his team were everything I hoped for and more. They were on time, hard working, respectful, intelligent and above all, friendly! There wasn't a single thing damaged during the move and they even stuck around to help us arrange furniture when it was all moved in. If I had designed my ideal movers, they wouldn't have been nearly as good as what I got from Chris and his team. They even secured the moving permits for us!! So I've moved a few times and it seems like the experience has always gotten worse and worse. Chris and team completely changed that trend! They showed up right on time for the move to Somerville. I had a 2 bedroom (queen bed, dresser, chest, and night stands), office, dining room, and living room with a flat screen TV to move. They brought a truck with plenty of space and carefully wrapped up everything. The few times I helped they were very thankful. Overall this was the perfect moving experience. Like most other posters on here, this was my first experience using professional movers. I had always moved myself with the help of friends and family so I had no idea what to expect. And after some of the the horror stories I'd heard from other people, I was not expecting much. Thank goodness I choose wisely and went with SRM. In a word, they were just awesome. Very professional, courteous and hardworking. And at the same time, fun and cool guys. Not many people appreciate hard rock and horror models, but these guys did. Made the hassle and stress of my move not so bad. I certainly hope I don't have to move again for a LONG time but when I do, I will definitely be using them again.
