I'm a young girl so I'm always scared of being up charged when I take my car in to get serviced, this is one of the easiest and best experiences I've ever had. The guys are quick and thorough and charge very reasonably. 110% only going to safelube to get my car serviced. Thank you! read more

Years ago this place was first to let you smog check and do your DMV registration in one place. Over the years it was great service after great service and I recommended them to everyone. That all changed. I pulled in for a smog check. I had a check engine light on. The person performing the smog check saw the light was on, ran the smog check, and then told me after it failed that the check engine light - that he saw - was an automatic fail for the smog test. He saw the light, knew what it meant and instead of being up front about it, he took $30 from. Don't support dishonest shops. read more

awesome always fast efficient and friendly One shop stop you can do everything for registration right there. They do it off for you. It's easy quick & convenient. read more

Needed an oil change and did not want to waste time on it. Took it here at 3 on a Saturday. It was like a pit crew for nascar. These 4 guys were great. Told me i needed to replace the crappy tires that have been mention a time or two by multiple people. They shook my air filter out upon request. I think I might of been there 10 minutes and they had it done. I will be back. Thank you guys! read more

When I lived here 15 years ago this was my go to oil change place. It's crazy that it still has the same excellent customer service and reliability as it did prior. I won't go anywhere else. read more

Our dealership is closed for service on the weekends and needed an oil change so found this place on yelp. Talk about a smooth experience couldn't believe how quick we were in and out. Professional and very pleasant employees . Will definitely return with our other vehicles. Thanks guys. read more

Came in on a Thursday afternoon and the service only took 15 minutes for an oil change. love that it's a Drive-Thru so, no need to get out of your car. Great service and the staff were super friendly! Thank you, Delkin for being super helpful. read more

I pulled right up and they did a fantastic and quick oil change. Checking all lubricants and tire pressure, etc. Definitely will recommend and return! read more

I dropped my car off for oil change and smog. It took them 30 min to take care of it for me . When I came back to pick up it was nice to see it parked in a secure spot where all the staff could keep an eye on it. The service here was wonderful, fast and honest. They let me know that all they could see I would need in the future would be a new air filter . Very kind and efficient staff. I recommend them to anyone in a hurry or last min. I called and got in same day. Oil change and my smog. Very satisfied. read more

Wow nice response check engine light was not on prior to the test, truck sits parked in my drive way since I only use it when my dog wants to go for a ride( have 3 other vehicles). Have a kill switch on it so battery stays fresh but hey you can blame me the proof is there was only two system checks that didn't clear yet since I dont live far from there. So after driving a few more miles they had completed and it was able to run a full system check. Dont worry the kid that ran the test is still a idiot and now we know lies to his boss good to know. read more

Went here to get a code ran on my vehicle. The old man got the code but refused to give it to me which was weird and said he wouldn't plug it in again. Just a rude experience. read more

I'm sitting here because Reno Buick GMC was two weeks behind servicing vehicles. I was going to change the oils in my truck myself, when I came across Safe Lube and their reviews. The wife and I had to run errands and decided to have them change the oil. A little drive from south Reno, but worth every mile. This crew is on top of it. Polite, clean, efficient . Highly recommended. read more

This is a great and trustworthy place to go to. They are all nice and easy to get anything checked on. When my car was overheating I took it in to get looked at and Wayne diagnosed the problem and didn't charge me for it. Wayne is very nice and helpful. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Safe Lube Plus - They have screens that you see from inside your car to see what they are doing. Very cool! - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Reno, Nevada

I have only used Safe Lube (I can't get my mind out of the gutter) for smog checks, but we always come here and I was debating using another place because I found a coupon in the mailers. I yelped and the reviews were not as good as when I yelped here and discovered excellent reviews so I decided why change? Plus support small business. I also discovered a coupon which they were happy to take, thank you! Fast and friendly. Regularly $29.99 for smog check, but my coupon was $5 off. Thanks Safe Lube Plus, for a smooth and pleasurable smog check. Ba dum chee read more

Found this place because of a recommendation from a friend. After getting stung (twice no less) by one of their competitors I'm glad I came here. This trip was for 2 E-350 moving trucks that my company owns. It took about 10 minutes per truck. No hard sell on anything, everything is recorded on camera and you can watch what they're doing, as they are doing it. It's great that they have very tall bays that can fit the moving trucks as well as RV's etc. This is now going to be the only place we bring the moving trucks and one of the only 2 places I'll take my personal vehicles. read more

I still love this place. Quick, honest, efficient. If I could make one comment that I hope a manager will see, I don't know why the guys here feel the need to be so disrespectful to each other. They're so kind to customers but sooooo rude to each other. And very openly in front of customers. It's just awkward and I feel terrible for these guys busting their asses being treated like junk. read more

So I've been in Reno for 12 years and I'm sad to say I just today found this spot. My daughter has an older vehicle and the AC was not working after having an AC hose changed out because it was leaking I had to find a place to recharge the AC system. I checked a couple places but the prices were crazy. So I was pointed in the direction of Safe Lube Plus. No kidding they did it for $97.50 just like they quoted on the phone. As I sat in my vehicle one of the employees walked around and offered all customers a cold bottle of water. All employees were extremely friendly and professional. The recharge took about 15-20 minutes and I and my daughter are extremely happy. I will be doing business with this shop from now on. Thank you!!!! read more

I stood in the waiting area and was noticed by 3 people but not acknowledged. I continued to wait and saw multiple other people just standing around. Eventually I decided to leave and had service done at the neighboring establishment, Jiffy Lube. Unfortunately, I was not given the chance to experience their service hence the 2 stars. read more

I pulled up late afternoon on a Friday with 7 cars ahead of me. The attendant told me it would be a 25 minute wait and got me in and out in under 20 minutes. They also offered me a cold water bottle while I was waiting. Talk about service!! 10/10 read more

I'm visiting from out of town. I wanted to get my transmission fluid replaced. I called and was told bring it on down, no appointment necessary. These guys are awesome. Thank you for the quick service and being willing to hold my car til I could pick it up. Next time I'm in town, if needed, I'll be back. Awesome service, great customer service. Thanks. read more

So I'd give 5 stars but unfortunately my fiance didn't have the same experience. For me their team was fast and thorough. They cleaned my windshield, checked the fluids of my car, and changed my air filter one time. I've been to this place 3 times so far this year, since I constantly drive back and forth from the bay area to reno and it's been great overall. My fiance unfortunately did not get his tires checked (like it has on their list), he did not get his windshield cleaned - all which they stated on the paper he declined but he did not. I'm not sure why we had different experiences but I hope in the future this won't happen again. read more

Safe lube rules. I'll never pay for another oil change anywhere else in Reno (should just do it myself). The whole thing takes about 5 min. They have signs posted everywhere about how they don't upsell. It's part of their business model and has earned them loyal customers. I can't believe people actually go to that dog and pony show Jiffy Lube. read more

I've been using Big O tires for my oil changes because they are right next to my house, but they take forever. The last oil change took 3 hrs, I'm done with that. So I tried this place out based on all the good reviews. These guys are amazing! I was done in about 15min. The price was better then anyone else around here. The fact they were polite and professional was just a bonus. I'm a new lifetime customer read more

Haven't even gotten my oil changed yet and wanted to post this review. It's a Saturday and they are a little busy-good for them! Am in line and they quickly acknowledged me and brought me and the other person in line an ice cold bottle of water! We have been coming here for many years. They are experienced, courteous and the convenience of staying in your car is certainly a plus! Also they will reset your change oil notification!!!! Thank you Safe Lube! read more

Well today's visit was a mess.... literally....one of the staff screwed up and that resulted in oil being sprayed all over the engine compartment and even up onto the windshield. I really didn't have time for this....30 minutes of clean up and I'm sure I will have to visit a carwash to use the pressure washer. Why than am I giving the 5 stars? As a business owner myself I believe that's it's easy to manage a business when things go well. I prefer to judge a business on how they handle things when it all goes wrong. I always just ask for an opportunity to make things right when my staff makes a mistake, so I gave them this same courtesy. Tim handled the situation like a true professional and I left satisfied. I've been getting my oil changed here for several years and will continue to do so in the future. read more

Went here on my lunch hour and there was no one waiting. I was out of there in 15 minutes. The customer service was great and I got to watch while they were working on my car. Make sure you bring the coupon printed because they will only accept the printed paper. Very good price for oil change cheaper than others I looked at. read more

Convenient they are drive-thru that also opens early! Customer service was excellent; they were super friendly and explained the process. I've been going to Safe Lube for almost 10 years now and they are nothing short of excellent! The team is kind, quick and efficient. Joseph and Dekin helped us today and they were absolutely amazing. The customer service at this place is impeccable. My husband takes his Jeep here for every oil change and We are in and out within 10 minutes. They are reliable, very affordable and I definitely do recommend. I've been coming to Safe Lube for years now, and they've become my benchmark by which to measure other auto services by. I know that may sound like I'm being a bit biased, but really, I think it holds true when you measure them against a lot of other similar places. For starters, their customer service is just amazing. The garage employees are always friendly and courteous in the extreme, and seem intent on doing the best job they can no matter when you stop by. It goes a long way to putting one at ease, especially for me, being perpetually worried about little things with my vehicles. During those hot summer days, they will even offer me a bottle of water while I wait. And what makes it even better is that they are rocket fast. You almost never have to get out of your car. The last oil change I got from here, I was literally in and out in under ten minutes! But don't think that their speed detracts from their attention to detail. While they drain and refill your oil, they check over your other fluids, tire pressure, air filter and so on, and also give your windshields a wash, too. That may sound like something a lot of garages do, but I will qualify that statement by saying I have been to some lube joints where their basic service does not include these checks, where you have to specifically ask for them and end up paying additional fees to get the extra attention. Now granted, the price does reflect these measures, with their full service oil change being a bit higher in comparison to other places in town, but when you take into account everything you're getting and their spectacular customer service, I think it's well worth it. Before ringing you up, they tell you what they've observed from their quick inspection and provide some helpful recommendations if they feel something needs your attention. Beyond oil changes, they offer the other sort of services you'd expect; change of fluids, belts, wipers, filters and so on. Smog checks and registrations services available, too, of course. Located along N. McCarran, near the 395 intersection, they can be a little tricky to get in and out of, since you need to come in from a side street and their small parking lot is at somewhat of an odd angle. And while there are no huge extra bells and whistles, Safe Lube covers all the bases and are a solid bet if you're ever searching for a friendly, reliable lube joint. It is great to find a local business like this, where I trust them over the chains and can be sure they maintain such great levels of dependability. All these reasons explain why I've been, and will continue being, a very satisfied customer. Keep up the great work, guys! read more

I received a full service oil change and a smog inspection in just 15 minutes! I was happy with my experience overall. I would suggest keeping track of your mileage at the time of your oil change, as I noticed they recommend cars get an oil change at 2500 miles, and as I understand it most cars can go for much longer than that. read more

just went in yesterday for a long overdue oil change. went in around 8:30ish-9am, and was immediately taken in. the dudes working were straightforward, quick, and super kind! im a young female and have to get my car serviced alone, and am VERY aware of when people might assume i know nothing about cars and thus try and oversell or baby me. these dudes NEVER did. simply said i needed an oil change, and i got it. asked if i wanted my tire pressure checked and i said sure! never asked if i wanted extra servicing or made me buy more expensive oil or anything like that. straightfoward and to the point! i got out within 10 minutes, honestly probably even less. definitely will be coming back for more oil changes and any other issues i might have. kudos to you safe lube plus! read more
