I used Safe and Efficient moving 8 years ago when they were based in Saint Louis. It's been 8 years since then and every time I have to get movers I think of them because they were so excellent!! They went above and beyond to move me into my apartment when I moved to the city. I recall running into unforeseen circumstances when leaving Nashville, TN and therefore being very tardy on arrival, but they were so accommodating and kind throughout the whole process. Terrible company to use for your move if you value your belongings. I made the mistake of using this company to pack my belongings for a coast to coast move. I treated my movers with the utmost respect and generosity the way of the move and I trusted their reviews. Two weeks later I get my stuff at the destination, and I am shocked by the state of my belongings. Furniture scratched beyond repair and disassembled without the screws secured. Most importantly thousands of dollars worth of suits dresses and other clothes crushed because the "professionals" hired by the company did not know that they are not supposed to pack garment boxes vertically. They put them horizontal and crushed them with heavy boxes. Company has been non responsive since they were paid. read more

They also protected my door frame with blankets, definitely true to their name of safe and efficient. Though I had two pods, they were able to fit everything in one to help me save money!!! Wow! These guys are good! We moved across the country and were looking for a few movers to help us move our furniture out of a POD storage container. We called about a month or two in advance so that we would have everything setup by the time we got here to Georgia. On the day it was time to move in, their team was outside 30 minutes before and ready to go! Not even kidding, before I could even ask them how things were going, they were already done! What really through them over the top is that all of our furniture that was disassembled in the move was put together for us. They had no issues with any requests at all that we made and kept asking if we needed anything more to be done. 10 minutes into Prentiss and his colleague being on site, my wife said that they were the most professional movers she's ever seen. They arrived 10 minutes early and wanted to get right to work. The two of them were beyond respectful (yes sir, yes ma'am with every sentence) and they were extremely efficient. We were moving out of a 2 story 3 bedroom house and into a 26' box truck with a ramp. They hand carried all items, including the washer, down the stairs, through the house and into the truck. They never used a hand-truck or dolly, and I didn't have 1 scratch because of it. They took immaculate care of our items. First, I want to say that I have NEVER used movers before and I have moved 7 times in the last 9 years. But after being married for a few years and accumulating a lot of big furniture, we decided it was best to hire movers. We only needed help moving the big furniture (including 3 regular sized couches) and I was not looking forward to paying someone else to do what I had been doing without movers for so long. I did a lot of research on yelp, and found most movers had the same complaints: people were charged more than they were quoted, furniture or walls were damaged and not reimbursed, movers were very late, or sometimes, did not show up at all! I got very anxious reading these reviews, and it almost made me reconsider hiring movers. But then I got to this page for Safe and Efficient Moving and saw all the glowing reviews and NONE of the complaints I mentioned above. I thought it was too good to be true. I even looked at the profiles of the reviewers to make sure they were real people and not fake reviews. (Yes, seriously). I figured that with reviews this good, they must be expensive. I was completely wrong. Out of all the quotes I received, Safe and Efficient Moving gave me the lowest quote, almost HALF the price of what other moving companies were quoting me, as well as HALF the time. Also, their one time fee was MUCH lower than most companies. Again, I thought it was too good to be true. But I decided to go ahead and book them. Flash forward to the day of the move: Prentiss and Corey not only showed up on time, but actually called me and said they could come earlier, as they had finished with their previous job early. This worked perfectly for us. They came, worked quickly and safely, did not damage a single thing and were very cautious with our furniture and the walls of the apartments. It took them almost exactly the time they said it would, even though we added a few items at the last minute. They were very polite and friendly and did not milk the clock at all. When they were done, I realized that I hadn't asked how they accept payment and asked if a check was okay. He said cash was better, which I think is reasonable, but our cash was back at the other apartment (about 10 min away). We asked if we could go get it and come back. They said that was fine. They waited patiently and hung out with our family while we went back. They did not charge us for the extra time it took for us to get cash. Safe and efficient are only two of the words I would use to describe these guys! Prompt is another one. They showed up exactly on time, ready to start working. Efficient - they are what I call LEGO packers. They looked over what we had to move and made it fit together in the truck like LEGOs. We had rented our own truck and had no idea whether everything would fit but once they started packing it, it was easy to see that we had plenty of room. Safe - they advised us to have packing quilts, blankets and celophane wrap. They padded and wrapped everything and strapped it in place so it wouldn't shift during our 6 hour drive. Strong - they made the heavy furniture look like dollhouse furniture. They rarely used the handtruck that we provided and instead, lifted and carried each item to the truck. Friendly - they introduced themselves and talked to us about our move. Respectful - they called us ma'am and sir. Communicative - we sent texts back and forth to confirm the address, time, etc. I chose them because of the other excellent reviews they got on Yelp and I do not disagree with any of the reviews. These guys moved me a few weeks back, and they were just perfect. Friends of mine had a poor experience with another moving company recently that they paid out the wazoo for, so I was soooo grateful to find an inexpensive option that didn't charge travel time or had a minimum on the time alotted. They were also super cool about the fact that I still needed to get some of the last things together while they were moving stuff out, and gamely dealt with my awful apartment complex. I really wish that I could write a positive review about this company. Once the movers finally arrive to my apartment they were friendly, efficient, and quick. However, they were so late that I found their service not only annoying but also disrespectful. I solicited their services to move some bulky items from my old apartment in Urbana, Illinois to the house I currently rent in Urbana. I was told that the movers would meet me at my apartment once I retrieved the truck from U-Haul. My 9:30 appointment turned into my waiting most of the day for the movers to arrive. They finally showed up at 1:30 to move my belongings. They were so late that the manager stopped taking my calls and I had to try to struggle to move some of my items by myself until they arrived. Where do I even start?! Safe and Efficient Movers were the best movers I've ever worked with! The team, Turran, Prentiss, and Corey, were professional, courteous, and calm. I was very stressed with the move and their calm demeanor and exceptional manners made the move a piece of cake. They were great with communication. Turran responded to my call on a Sunday and they were able to accommodate me with short notice. They even called when they were on their way and again just before they arrived. The prices were exactly as quoted and I didn't feel nickel and dimed at all. During the move my glass table broke. They were extremely careful with everything and this truly was an accident. My wife and I moved from 3 hours upstate IL to the Metro east area and Prentiss was immensely helpful. I had initial reservations as most my prior moves were either DITYs or through bidding sites e.g. Uship, but Safe and Efficient Moving had good reviews. Spoke to Prentiss 3-4 weeks before the scheduled move and he seemed upbeat, determined and confident. With good Yelp reviews behind him I took the plunge and we later agreed on an estimate. Prentiss and 2 of his workers drove the 3 hours from St. Louis day of the move, in a 26 footer; they packed up 10,000 lbs of goods, moved it all 3 hours south. Same day, they unpacked/reassembled everything we asked of his crew. Nothing broken; one small decorative piece with a backboard came loose and one of Prentiss' crew (both very respectful and hardworking) laid all out on the floor and spent ten minutes reassembling the piece. The weather was nail bitingly cold and the day did not finish until 1 a.m. Prentiss and his crew continued to work doggedly. It was an absolutely miserable day with the move, the work and the cold. But Prentiss and his crew were a tremendous blessing. They were awesome at a great price.
