Prentiss and his team traveled nearly halfway across the country for the job and were still energized upon their arrival. Not only were they ready to go, they began loading boxes within minutes. We knew that with over 100 boxes to load they'd be maxed, but they often moved three at a time. They didn't buy us a lot of time to get anything else packed (if it wasn't already) due to their packing speed into the U-Haul. His crew moved tables, mirrors, dressers, three entire bedrooms, a treadmill and multiple couches. They shrink wrapped everything to a tee and uses furniture wrap to protect my items. I was amazed at the team's ability to move a 1,000-pound safe down a flight of stairs so effortlessly without scratching the wooden floor. Loved how he padded the floor in anticipation of the safe coming off the stairs. Perhaps even more impressive was how he and his team moved couches and the treadmill behind the house on a hilly terrain while keeping their balance. Olympic-type athleticism and balance while moving furniture gets five stars from me. All of the job was to pack the entire four bedroom house was done on four hours and would have been done quicker if everything had been packed. Immaculate job from great team!! Very pleased I hired them and gave everyone tips!! read more

Prentiss and his crew are wonderful. Not only were they upbeat, personable, but most importantly respectful and on time. I couldn't be happier. He charges a very, very fair rate and I specifically went with him after hearing horror stories from friends about bigger outfits. There wasn't a single hidden fee. You get an hourly rate , minimum, and you do the move. I had three other companies surprise me before booking with $100-150 "show up fee" "destination fees" and other surprises. He knows his guys, from his actions seems like a great boss, and was working really hard as well. It helped the stress levels and set a good vibe for the move. As far as moving, it was great. No scratches, didn't hear a single bang or clatter, nothing was thrown like airport luggage , none of our stuff is broken, furniture is golden , and they made sure we double checked and were more than happy to move something even when it's me saying the wrong room. As a side note Prentiss did one of the most impressive parking jobs at our townhome I've ever seen, we had a carpet cleaning guy fumble it with a truck a third of the size days later. Don't worry about this man parking anything, he could probably back a 747 up blindfolded into a single car garage. read more

I made the (not so) genius decision to move to downtown St. Louis on the same day as the Fourth of July parade. It was horridly humid and hot, and the streets around my apartment building were blocked off. Poor Prentiss and Corey had to park 16 blocks away and walk through that mess to get to me, but they were very polite and professional throughout the whole process. They worked so hard and got my truck unloaded quickly. There were no surprises with price--everything was exactly what Prentiss and I had agreed upon prior to the day of the move. I would also like to note that Prentiss and Corey were especially patient, kind, and gentle with my 77 year old father, who has Alzheimer's. He tried to help them in the beginning, but he ended up getting in their way. It took me a while to convince him to let them handle everything, but they were fantastic! I will definitely use them again the next time I move. read more

Best in the biz. Prentiss shows up on time and works with a purpose. Most reasonable hourly price I found after tons of research and calling around. You pay what they quote and they earn every penny. He called ahead and came early because my cross-town move was threatened by rain and flat out got it done. They packed the truck so skillfully and tight that any suburban dad would give them a 5 out of 5 fannypack rating! You can rent your own Uhaul and pay a cheaper hourly if you only want help with the big stuff, or he will show up and handle everything including the truck for a still reasonable fee. These guys work hard carrying all the heavy ass stuff that your lazy friends wouldn't do for beer and pizza, so make sure and tip graciously. Not because they expect it but because it is the right thing to do when service exceeds expectation. read more

I called Prentiss a few weeks in advance of our move because he had such great reviews here on yelp. Not only was he direct and professional with the planning and scheduling (and pricing) of the move, but he and Corey were fast, safe, efficient (as the name says) and a pleasure to work with. Awesome guys! We moved within the city, about five miles from one-story house to second floor condo. The price was very fair, and Prentiss was in communication prior to and on the day of the move. They wrapped and padded everything that needed it, and they always asked about anything they weren't sure about. No skimping, no cutting corners, no trying to add time. Nothing like that. Just great and honest business. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

Their name says it all. I was moved with no damage, their techniques and diligence got it done quickly. As a side benefit, their calm, confident and pleasant disposition made the stress of the move much more palatable. An excellent experience. I can't do the pro/con thing here because I honestly can't think of anything they could have done better. Prentiss and crew moved me across town and it made the moving experience a smooth and comfortable one. I was a bundle of nerves when they showed up, but they were friendly, professional and got right to work. They were fast, took great care with my belongings and were an absolute pleasure. They later helped to move my mother and it was just as good of an experience as my mine. read more

Prentiss and Corey are awesome!! Prentiss is incredibly prompt and polite in responding to messages to schedule the move. Prentiss and Corey also arrived early, which was fantastic. They are quick, kind, professional, and very good at what they do. They pad and shrink wrap all furniture as well, ensuring safety. Prices were what they had promised, with no hidden fees. They made a move I had been stressing about for weeks super easy, and were done in only 2.5 hours start to finish...thank you!! I can't recommend a moving company more highly than these guys. read more

These guys rock! Prentiss and Cory were both very professional and got the job done quickly! Talk about top notch customer service! They were so careful with my things, were very aware of everything around them and kept me in the loop with any possible issues. The total cost was so much cheaper than the competition and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I am so happy to be finally in my new home and they made it absolutely perfect. Thank you Safe and Efficient Moving! I will be recommending them to everyone I know that will be moving in the future~ read more

Like most people, I HATE moving but the guys at Safe and Efficient Moving made my last moving experience a great one. Professional, skilled and courteous, they work hard to make that your valuables are transported in a safe and efficient manner.- It's all in the name. I had a LOT of breakable items *(vinyl records, musical equipment etc...) and they handled it all with care. They showed up when they said they would and they got the job done in record time! I would recommend Safe and Efficient Moving to anyone that needs to move info a new place. read more

Prentiss and Corey (I hope I spelled Corey right!) impressed us with their manners, their kindness, their strength, their speed, and especially how careful they were to avoid damaging our walls and our furniture. We have hired other movers before, and absolutely no one has been even close to the quality of SAFE and EFFICIENT service they provided. What took 4 of us (friends) to move in 8 hours, the two of them moved in 4. I highly recommend you give them a call, you won't regret it! And don't forget to tip! read more

Working with Safe and Efficient Moving was my first experience with movers - amazing experience. I had a reservation for box storage units and Prentiss worked with me to find a more cost efficient method of moving AND a more budget friendly alternative. Prentiss coordinated loading & unloading extremely quickly considering I requested services on such a short notice. Prentiss and Chris were very efficient and careful with my furniture and boxes, not to mention very kind throughout the entire moving day. read more

We hired Safe and Efficient Moving on May 28. It was very easy and fast to arrange the moving time with Prentiss. Prentiss and Cory were very friendly and hard working. They arrived on time and started to work right away. I was very impressed with their professionalism, just as what I read the reviews. They worked around the clock and finished in 2 hrs. They were careful with our furniture and the walls. I highly recommend them for your moving and don't forget to tip! read more

We were extremely pleased with using this company. The two movers were friendly, kind, and all smiles while all at the same time being very professional. Contrary to a few reviews I read, the communication between the movers and myself was exceptional. I was kept up to date directly via phone and text frequently. It would have been nice if there wasn't a two hour minimum but when you move as safe and efficient as these folks I definitely understand. read more

I hired Prentiss and Cory (because of their great Yelp reviews) to move on June 29. They were exactly what was needed for this move. They stayed cool, organized and constantly worked to get everything moved in 4 hours with 2 truck loads. I was very impressed with their work ethic and kindness during this process. It's refreshing in today's world to find this type of customer service and fair pricing. Thank you so much Prentiss and Cory! read more

After numerous issues with major over the road moving companies, this amazing company was able to help me pack my U-Hall with less then 12 hours notice. They got there early, finished in an hour and a half and above all else did the job extremely well! They where very nice and courteous! I would hands down use them again without hesitation. My only regret was moving half way across the country and not being able to take them with me! read more

We hired Safe and Efficient Moving through UHaul to deliver the UBox to our new house. The UBox arrived a few days early to the UHaul site in Woodstock. I called Prentiss to ask if he would be available to move the UBox early. Prentiss delivered the UBox the next day, and helped with unloading and moving furniture into the house. Great guy, great service. I will use again if we have the need, and I highly recommend. read more

Prentiss and Corey were prompt in returning my call to schedule two moves. They moved us to storage and then completed the final move a week later. They were extremely punctual, courteous, and very efficient. They worked non-stop without any breaks. I've worked with Prentiss three times over the past few years for moving in-town or hauling furniture, and I couldn't imagine moving with anyone else. He's so quick and efficient, and really packs the truck til every inch is full! He's right on time and very patient and kind. My things are always in good hands with him and his team. Moving is stressful and he takes a lot of the stress out of it by being so helpful. read more

We used Safe and Efficient Moving to move my 86 year old mother last July. She was very stressed as it was an emotional move after the passing of my father. Prentiss and the gentleman who came with him (I forgot his name) was amazing. They were professional and efficient. They charged what was quoted. They wrapped all the furniture and moved everything without any damage. I would definitely use them again !!! Janet read more
