Earlier this month, my fiance and I found ourselves in the good/bad situation of scoring our dream apartment in Midtown but having to move all of our stuff at the last minute. We chose Primetime Movers based on their availability and reviews from fellow Yelpers and would gladly hire them again. A crew of three folks showed up to our initial apartment 30 minutes after their scheduled time. Despite the slightly late start and suboptimal conditions (e.g. a loading dock that was a 10 minute walk from our place, the power going out) the team was able to carefully wrap and load our furniture in a relatively timely manner. Similarly, they set up the furniture at our new place very quickly and even spent extra time off the clock to help us reassemble some of the pieces and arrange things to our liking. Unlike many moving companies, they offer a specific time to start the move rather than a window and offer prorated rates rather than charging for full hours at a time. The three gentlemen that helped us also were nice and worked hard on a hot day. Do note that Primetime is working on getting insurance, which may be an issue depending on your landlord's policies. No items were damaged during our move and, other than a few easily removable wall scuffs, both apartments emerged unscathed from the move. We are pleased with Primetime's services and would recommend them for anyone in need of some help with moving. 4.5 stars. read more

Worst experience ever! Lots of stuff broken, banged, nicked, missing. Worse, lots of things never moved at all - just left in the house! Also, they delivered things that were NOT mine and just left it even after I told them it wasn't mine. The movers sowed up and were very nice. I felt very comfortable. We went through the process and I showed them everything to be moved. They told me I could leave and I trusted them. BIG MISTAKE. They phoned later and said everything did not fit and I needed another truck the next day. Fine - it was a lot of stuff and I paid the extra amount. Today, the woman I hired to clean the house began sending me photos of all the things still in house. (TV, lamp, fans, sterling silver and more) They refuse to take any responsibility. The first question I had when I contacted this company was, do they provide/have their own company truck? The owner responded with YES, but on moving day showed up with a small U-Haul truck. The truck wasn't big enough to fit my 2 bedroom apartment belongings in, so he and 2 other movers began to use their personal cars to place my belongings in, WITHOUT asking me if I was okay with it. The owner, Terrell, driving his car, decided to stop by a near by gas station to get some drinks for his guys and I guess take a breather, meanwhile I'm STILL BEING CHARGED FOR TIME AND BEING CLOCKED ... I thought that this was extremely unprofessional and unfair to someone who was trying to give a small business a chance. During confirmation you get to choose if you want 2 movers for $150 or 3 movers at $175.. with a 2 hour minimum I chose the 3 men option THINKING IT WOULD BE QUICKER, given that they had a whole extra man moving. When I hired 2 men and truck last year it took them a total of 4 hours. With this company it took their 3 men, 4 hours and 30 minutes, (which included their multiple "breaks") the total was $635.78 for a 2 bedroom move The only positive out this ordeal was luckily none of my things were damaged that I know of as for now... I tried giving a small business a chance, and I work closely with WFHM clients that require moves ALL OF THE TIME, however I didn't disclose this at all, nor did I argue about the time or unprofessionalism, I was so overwhelmed and tired. I just paid and sent them on there way, but this is a clear example of what happens when a company price gauges the hell out of you. You can definitely find cheaper and more professionalism elsewhere. read more

The crew came in and packed up my 3BR apartment in a timely manner and then unloaded at my new house. Can't say enough positive things about this company. I've used them twice- once to move from apartment to apartment and once to load up a moving truck. Both times they were extremely courteous, helpful, and dedicated to making sure what was moved arrived safely. I have a large, unwieldy unframed mirror they took great care of and packaged with real care, and they moved all items in a timely fashion. The moving truck was loaded beautifully with room to spare. Moving is always stressful. There are literally dozens of movers on Yelp and it can be hard to decide on a good mover who you trust with your belongings. With that said, I had an ABF Relocube that I needed loaded. I called A-Squad and spoke with Dakota about a week before my move. He managed to fit me in on the day I needed and provided an extremely reasonable quote. He was able to answer all of my questions and I was able to prepare properly before they arrived. Once Dakota and Brad arrived, the got to work quickly and did not waste any time. They asked if I had anything fragile in the boxes. Furthermore, they also paid attention to wrap glass and furniture properly so that it would not be damaged. Dakota and Brad have experience with the PODS and Relocubes and it definitely showed. They knew how to maximize the amount of space available and everything I had fit in the cube perfectly. At the end of the move, the price quoted matched what we spoke about beforehand. It is always great when a mover is 100% honest and fair and works hard while on the clock. It's too bad that I'm moving out of state because I would use A-Squad again given the chance. read more

Folks I had: Dakota, Tyler, and Brad! Yelp says A Squad Movers respond within 6 hours... well, I yelp messaged them and got a response within 30 mins. It was also a Saturday haha. Made me feel better. I booked my moving late... since I kind of got lazy, but Dakota was able to squeeze me in the following week. Dakota was my main contact via message and email - extremely nice guy. Very respectful & articulate with what he needed/what he will do with this team/what he will bring. Every time I randomly messaged him with a question or reconfirmation - he responded within 30 mins. That's crazy! Especially since he is a mover as well. Tyler & Brad were super great too. Very respectful. Wish I had beer/water for the guys, but my fridge is empty of everything. I sent Dakota all my info & etc via email. Before that, he told me his teams rates and minimum for hours. I should note: I had a crew of 3 men, 2 hour min for moving. Other places offer only 2 man crew (for the same price as 3 for A Squad) & sometimes have 2 or 3 hour min. Smart idea was to go with A Squad. My total was like 298 dollars. Similar calculations for other shops, but as I mentioned - others only offered a crew of 2 for similar amount. My move date was today - set for 8am. Dakota told me he'd call me 20-30 mins beforehand & said he'd be at my apt 8am sharp. His team actually got to me at 7:40AM. Very pleased. Most movers tend to be late or whatever, so.. I was very happy when he told me they'd be arriving earlier. I only had 4 things to move: bed, desk, chair, futon....and 2 small wooden things. This took maybe 20 mins to get everything out. Dakota, Tyler, and Brad - wrapped my desk, futon, and bed to make sure they were clean. Although my things were simple - I did see that the truck had more gadgets for moving. Only hiccup was that the truck battery died on us for 20 mins. I told Dakota, Tyler, and Brad that there was a Wally World downstairs of my apt - 2 of them ran to it. But my apt maintenance guy found his cable jumpers so.. we called them back. The fact they were serious about getting the ball rolling with the cables made me feel good that I hired them. When the battery was fixed, we made our way to my new condo. The unloading took like 20 mins. Even with the hiccup - my move took an hour and.. 10mins? That's still AWESOME. I was scared my move would have lasted 2+ hours due to the hiccup. BUT Dakota assured me even if it took longer to do my move he definitely wouldn't charge me for the time lost during the dead battery. Will use them again down the road! :D read more

On Dec 11th I talked to Dakota on the phone about a move within our apt complex for Jan 8th or 9th. I sent pics to asquadmovers@gmail.com to show them the furniture we needed moved. Their price was right, and the reviews great, so I was anxious to use them. Dakota asked for a little time to respond, so I patiently waited. I heard nothing back. On Dec 14th I sent an update email with a few more items to move that I had forgotten. Still no Ack back. On Dec 20th I sent one more email requesting an update on whether they had room for us in their schedule. No response. I called on Sat Dec 27th (678.568.6683) and left a voicemail for an update. I hoped to get a call back today. Still NOTHING. If they didn't want to do the move, they could just say they were booked for the two dates we offered for a pretty non-stressful move. Simply not responding is a very poor way to do business. What a shame. Badly done boys. read more

My husband and I closed on a new townhouse on 12/31/15, and for the next week or two in between frantically packing I was contacting movers. Everyone always suggests Two Men And A Truck, but that's a franchise and while one Two Men may be amazing, another might not be. So when friends would say, "Hire Two Men And A Truck," my reply was always "which one?" No one could ever say. When comparing prices, A-Squad was definitely not the cheapest per hour. The average price I got for three men was around $160-165/hr. Dakota at A-Squad quoted me at least $10 more. However, when you started reading the fine print, some movers had "double drive time" fees or fees for stairs, or fees for materials. The only ones that really mattered to us was the drive time and stairs. Once I factored that in, A-Squad was right on par with everyone else, if not a few dollars cheaper. When they say there are no extra fees, this is one company that actually stands by that. (Not that I recommend bargain shopping when you're trying to find someone to pack all your worldly possessions into a truck like a game of real-life Tetris, but it was worth mentioning.) Communicating with Dakota was a breeze. I always felt like we were on the same page. I knew exactly when they were coming, and they showed up as described. We had a three-man crew empty our 2400 sq ft house, drive it an hour away, and unload all in eight hours. (I do feel like a four-man crew would have been better, but I feel in my rush to put together an inventory list, I probably underrepresented how much we have. I don't blame them for this. Do your movers a favor and provide a full and accurate list when requesting a quote. Be excessive.) This is even more remarkable considering that our new home had a crapload of stairs for them to go up and down. (A crapload is precisely three serpentine flights.) All of our furniture was carefully wrapped and loaded, and the team worked very well together! The A in A-Squad stands for "Athletic," and we had some very heavy boxes and furniture (and the aforementioned stairs) that were moved with smooth efficiency. I'm only docking one star because our dryer and one chair suffered some some dings and dents, but that's really just a reminder for you to set realistic expectations when you hire a crew. You're putting everything you own into a truck, driving it a distance as the truck's contents settle and shift a bit, and then unloading it again up stairs and down narrow hallways-- all by hand. Poo happens. The scuffs on our walls are also minimal all things considered, but prepare yourself for that too. You will need to repaint the walls. I consider this move a massive success since no one got hurt, there are no holes in our walls, and the movers were extremely pleasant even at their most exhausted. If we need to move ever again, or if we need to just move furniture in the house, I will definitely be calling A-Squad first. read more

I called Matt after a 'company' I found on Craigslist was a no-show yesterday afternoon. I just needed to move one bookcase I bought (also on Craigslist), and Matt was totally friendly, helpful and communicative. He was able to make the move on The Same Day. On a Sunday evening! I was amazed -- he called back when he said he would, and kept in touch with me throughout the process of getting his pickup truck and 2nd mover. When I arrived at the seller's house at our appointed time, the bookcase was already wrapped and in the truck, ready to go. He & Tyler were super-friendly, and what would have been a huge struggle for my husband & me seemed like a breeze to them. I'd definitely recommend A-Squad and would call them again in a heartbeat. When we arrived to the new complex there was another moving truck there which held up the freight elevator and unfortunately put us back on time. I'm sure glad that I did considering my botched attempt at moving my 450lb+ gun safe the night before ended with the safe sitting in my yard abandoned and seemingly unmovable by mere mortals! From the moment I had confirmed the moving reservation with A-Squad I was glad I went with them: Dakota responded to my emails quickly, and he was very flexible and polite about all the little changes I had to make. My review is a tad overdue. These guys were great. I felt much more comfortable paying a small business then a huge semi truck and a bunch of different workers and no care. They were quick. Helped me with short notice and moved me from conyers to forks, Washington. They even hauled my car with short notice too. I thought the price was pretty fair... And they were by far the best loaders and unloaded I've ever hired... It works perfect that one is short and one is tall. Lol They are trustworthy. Friendly. Funny. Accountable. And even helped make a hard time MUCH easier. They communicated with me the whole way and answered any questions I had. Although, since my life ended up working out and I wish I would have stayed in Georgia (would have been a lot cheaper ha)... These guys I would hire again for a long distance move. Upon leaving the storage unit, I realized that they did not close the back of the truck. Thank goodness they had not gotten far, as my belongings would've been on the highway. I called these guys based on some yelp reviews, and a prior positive experience with a similar local outfit (versus the large regional outfits). Dakota and Matt were helpful over the phone and via email, and we set up the move. The crew arrived with a huge truck, two dollies, and sufficient pads. Positive: Friendly movers, furniture was wrapped and padded, no notable damage to anything, guys worked hard and everything got where it needed to go despite some inherent difficulties (three different spots) Negative: Move was 2 hours late getting started. Dakota did call me at 8 am to alert me that they would be late b/c the prior move would take longer than expected, but I was surprised another move was scheduled prior to the 10 am time slot they set for my move. All in all, a great option for most moves. If your move is larger, or your calendar is packed, make sure you are the first move of the day. I would recommend them, and will use again. read more

We had a standing appointment for 2PM this past Friday. Our movers arrived closer to 5PM! They did call to say they were running late. Their excuse was that the move before us was taking a lot longer than expected. So they were willing to go the extra mile for the previous client, but not do the bare minimum for us??? We ended up changing our plans to accommodate them because we really needed to move that day (and I couldn't get an appointment anywhere else). The movers nicked our walls and ceiling, and offered no apologies for doing so. The scratches were VERY obvious. Our walls will be painted soon, that is the ONLY reason I didn't make a big deal about their carelessness. They did move everything out very quickly, and it arrived to our final destination in one piece, but I will never use them again. Setting up the move was quick and easy. Since I was renting the Penske myself and driving it from Dunwoody back to NC, I only needed help moving furniture and boxes from the apartment downstairs into the truck. Matt and a fellow employee showed up on time and started working right away. The heavier pieces of furniture seemed to be no problem for them. They didn't waste any time and kept a fast pace (even in the hot weather). The truck was packed in an efficient and logical manner.
