7/24: UPDATE: reimbursed for lawn damage. Not a dime for the damage done to the brand new dresser I hadn't even had long enough put clothes in. It had just been delivered. Wouldn't recommend them still. Review not changed. 7/20: No reimbursement in full or any additional communication from this company and it's been almost 2 months. Avoid them at all costs! 7/14: Yes, accidents happen, we understand that and asked your company to make good on them. A $120 gesture of "goodwill" isn't reimbursement in full, it's a slap in the face that we refused. I have used Zip twice, and have mixed reviews. While the moving crews were both very nice and professional in interaction, they did a couple things that concerned me. First move, they chipped a big piece from my headboard that i didn't notice for months because they taped it together and did not tell me. It felt very dishonest. The second crew were just lazy, telling me everything that they cant do, though it was on my list. They couldn't figure out how to fold down my box spring, so u had to do it myself. It was super easy, but they just didn't care to put more effort. The staff are very nice, and the invoicing process is fair, fast, and effective. I would suggest Zip if you need to move, but if you want a quality job done, explore other options. read more

They presented us with an amended offer for damages that moved closer to taking away the sting of our experience with these movers. After everything has been said and done, what has seemed most notable to me was the vast difference in getting the help we needed - before and after posting a review. A few others have mentioned the quickness to present offers and pressure to soften negative reviews after final negotiations were made, and based on our perspective, I would have to agree. It would seem that Zip Movers are deeply interested in their online image, and while we appreciated being able to reach an eventual resolution, it's tough to forget about how long it took to finally get here. read more

From the moment they arrived, this move was a disaster. They backed their truck into my retaining wall, immediately pissing off my neighbors before a single box was moved. They then showed up with half the crew promised, which should have been my first clue about what was coming next. What should have been a straightforward move from a 3-bedroom home took 13 hours, and they still couldn't finish--forcing them to come back the next morning, while I was under extreme pressure due to a pending home sale. With 18 hours to be out of my house, Zip used the situation to triple the price, leaving me completely cornered. At one point, the police showed up at my door to question one of the movers for 30 minutes. Later, they left a single worker alone for SIX HOURS to finish the job. Completely unprofessional and unsafe. Once my belongings were picked up, I received zero updates for six weeks. No proactive communication. No tracking. No accountability. I had to escalate through three different people just to get basic help or information. And when all was said and done, Zip did absolutely nothing to make it right--no refund, no meaningful apology, no remediation--other than claiming they fired the person who originally quoted me, which does nothing for the damage, stress, or financial harm they caused. This was easily one of the most stressful and mishandled service experiences I've ever had, at a time when reliability mattered most. Horrible company. Just moved with this company in Aug 2025. Their contracts says they won't move bags. When I emails and asked them if they'd make an exception because I have a lot of clothes in bags, they said ok and to sign a Release of liability. I signed it. Then the movers got to my house on moving day and refused to touch my bags- even after telling them I signed the Release. So I had to move every single bag myself. I called the company after my move and spoke with Dean. He gave no apology and didn't take responsibility for lying to me. I would not have moved with this company had I had known this. Also, they overcharged me for 2 hours of moving. Still waiting to see if I'll receive a refund for the overcharged hours but not holding my breath since Dean is handling this. Horrible! They make promises and sound professional. Then they show up, go through rooms with doors closed that they were told not to go into. What are they looking for in there? They pack you out at a slow pace and when you're willingly asking to pay for more time then their estimate they leave you high and dry with half of your job done. Then when you get to where you are going and find that they clearly damaged many items while loading they spend days to respond with an answer. They say "That because it was a loading job only that they will not honor the $0.60 Lbs rate selection of coverage and can offer $100." They've damaged thousands of dollars of furniture. Nikki is not helpful and Miguel and his team are slow and do not give any regard to the careful packing of your valuables or property. Sadly I've never had a worse experience with any company, movers or otherwise. They started with a "virtual survey," which involved me walking around my home, FaceTiming a Zip Moving employee to show the size and contents of the place. The idea is that they estimate the cost and duration of the move without having to come out to the house. That estimate was ultimately inaccurate. I paid to have the movers pack my belongings. They "packed" antiques, glassware, and furniture by wrapping them in paper and stacking them in tall boxes, tight together. The items at the bottoms of those boxes, as well as the more fragile pieces, were bent, scratched, or fully broken (pictures attached). Additionally, many of the larger pieces of furniture were loaded into the truck unprotected, so that furniture jostled together in transit, leaving marks, scratches, and indentations where they had rubbed together constantly while on the road (pictures attached). Antique wooden furniture was taped together with packing tape, which can't be removed without additional damage to the pieces (pictures attached). Finally, the team lead drove off with my $250 Apple AirPods! When contacted, he said he'd drop them off within a few days. I've never heard from him since. I scheduled my move with Zip Movers based mostly on the reviews I saw here. If they are legitimate reviews, they just don't seem to be reviewing the same company I had experience with. read more

Just starting the initial process of setting up a zoom meeting for quote. I should probably wait until the process has gone a little further. Thus far simple easy and will provide more once more is complete. Well now that I'm finished moving in, I've been meaning to leave a review for a few weeks. You have to be knowing what you're doing with moving companies. They will milk you if you're not experienced with them and Even if you are. Zip like all movers give you a low guestimate price initially. The video walk through doesnt even seemingly get counted or recognized once the move starts. After reading the reviews on them basically knew to not have them pack anything. These companies will nickel and dime you to death. They priced me $80 to throw away an ottoman; now I tried to have them throw away a mattress as well, LOL and they wanted an additional $120. And had to remind them of the interview and show the contract to have them take the ottoman! I wouldve tipped the guys 100 to throw away the mattress. But they stood by not doing so, and wasn't going to take the ottoman but had to mention I had to call the reps and remind them that it was in my contract! They added extra fees, which i knew was coming. But they all do it, and I had already expected to pay a certain price when signing up. I was walking around with them, directing and helping them like a hawk. The worker bees were good workers overall. A few nicks while moving, but no such thing as perfection. I give the movers 3 1/2 stars, but the company 2.5-3. Just because they all play games and its a crap shoot on who you get to move. Be ready to tip if you want anything extra, because Zip themselves will definitely charge you more than what the initial quote is. Mine ended up about $700 more than expected, but the others would have done more or worse. And you shouldn;t be the type of person to just walk away and expect the move to go without overseeing it. You'll be taking a chance with them all. I think their lunch is added into your time. Would I use them again, maybe for a very small move, not for a large move. read more

2nd Addendum: Did respond to my concern of damage to the wall. Did not provide adequate compensation that I was charged on my security deposit for the damages, offering only an extra $10 when I told them their initial offer was half of what I was losing on my deposit. Of course I will take whatever amount I can get, but their refusal to match the cost of the damages they caused demonstrates a lack of care for the customer and class. Additionally the movers ask you to leave a yelp review when you are waiting to pay/in front of them, and ask for a screenshot of your review. It's an awkward situation that I think results in more 5 star reviews than they would otherwise get. Will update to 2 stars but overall not the best experience. Addendum: will keep this at 1 star until I get more information and a response on compensation for damages done to my wall on move-out, which I alerted the company about being time sensitive given it is a rental property and have not heard any updates. The movers did this and said it was submitted to claims but have not heard any updates. Rico's crew were great, professional and efficient. Daria Davis was our moving coordinator and was very helpful to explain the process, what to expect as well as to gather the information needed to support the planning and coordination of the move Sandro and Onesimo came in and in one day packed every single item flawlessly and then defied the laws of physics with the way that they loaded a 26' truck full of our 4 bedrooom 4 bath house. They worked from early in the morning until late at night and were very accommodating in how we loaded two different storage units(one for our future home and one for our apartment while we are renovating). Horrible! If I could give them a ZERO I would. These people are crooks. I was quoted was $2500 to move from a small 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo to a similar condo 70 miles away. I had no large items such as washer/dryer, refrigerator, lawnmower, etc. I felt that the $2500 was high but decided to move forward because of the positive reviews. The reviews have to be fake. First of all they promised a walk through before moving day in order to verify the items to be moved and confirm the price. That never happened and I was unable to get in touch with anyone at Zip moving They showed up 2 hours late. In addition, of the 3 men that arrived only one spoke very broken English. One rushed me through a walk through while the other 2 started packing the truck. They noted no changes to the inventory I provided. Threw all my stuff on the truck then when we got to the new place the cost went from $2500 to over $7000 and the refused to unload my furniture until the full amount was paid. They rolled their eyes and started counting the boxes. 1-by-1 the man is counting boxes and huffing and puffing like he's never seen boxes before -- they spent 30 minutes trying to get me to commit to additional hours. I refused. Instead, they took "only what they had time for," which was about half the stuff. They made a big show of moving incredibly slowly -- I would sprint past them carrying boxes and items and things, trying to speed the process along. When we arrived at the destination, I started helping them unload. Every time I ran down to the truck (we were moving my mother-in-law into a retirement community), Sergio would try to get her to sign off and hand him her credit card. "We get payment in the middle of the job; that's how we do it," he kept saying. Finally, after spending another 30 minutes haggling with me (while his two guys slowly unloaded the truck), I talked to his manager and let them run my credit card. The MINUTE they ran my card, the guys wheeled the last boxes in and left with 20 minutes remaining on the 3-hour clock. They did not even take the tape off the furniture; they didn't put my MIL's bed back together, which was the main reason we hired movers. Huge pieces of solid-wood furniture were just left stacked amongst boxes in the middle of the hallway. I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid this company. You'll read this, and then you'll read some good reviews, and maybe you'll decide to give them a shot. DON'T. I WILL NEVER BOOK WITH ZIP AGAIN!!! My first time booking with them one year ago was a stress-free, precise and professional experience. My experience with Zip this Second booking was sub par compared to my first experience. I contracted to work with Zip DIRECTLY, NOT the sub-contracted company you assigned to me. I was charged for their 30-minute break, that's the company's bill, NOT the Consumer. Who knows where or what they actually did. I arrived at the Storage Unit 35-minutes before them (Where & What were they doing). The Crew I worked with the First time I booked arrived to my New Location at the same time I did; and I stopped at Dunkin' Donuts for coffee en route to my New Move. Which showed that even with my 15- minutes stop, running into slight downtown/midtown traffic, then speeding - I and the Crew arrived within 10-12 mins. within one another. The Young Adults and slightly More Mature Man I experienced yesterday, weren't as precise, professional (smoking while working when we stopped at the storage unit, using my bathroom at both locations and NOT washing his hands, HELLO COVID is out here and REAL!!!) and didn't meet the expectations I had from working with the FIRST CREW. I'm beyond upset, borderline mad VERY UNSATISFIED; with them stacking my pre-packed boxes in Dish & Wardrobe boxes, they used all of my bubble wrap then charged me for MY PRODUCT usage, had me waiting 30-minutes outside of the storage location, then INCORRECTLY assembled my bed!!! The middle slab is missing a SILVER screw in the middle of the wood, the slab is FACE-DOWN when clearly there are LABELS advising "TOP SIDE" UP. And, the smaller BLACK screw at the end was broken in half the head and end of the screw were on my bedroom floor at the now OLD location. I spoke with Dean and he stated a Crew can't come out until Feb. 15th, THAT'S COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!! BESIDES I DON'T WANT THISE SAME WORKERS COMING BACK; I WANT SOMEONE WHO IS ACTUALLY FROM ZIP!!! NOT AN OUTSIDE CONTRACTOR. AND, THE SLAB THAT'S MISSING SUPPORTS THE WEIGHT OF THE BODY LAYING ON THE BED, BECAUSE IT'S THE MIDDLE ANCHOR SLAB. NO, I CAN'T, I'VE WAITED THROUGHOUT THIS MOVING PROCESS TO LAY IN MY BED, AND NOW I CAN'T AND WON'T FOR FEAR OF CAUSING FURTHER DAMAGE. Considering the amount of money INVESTED THIS MATTER NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED ASAP, OR I WILL PURSUE FURTHER LEGAL ACTION. And, the sleeper side of the mattress was face down. Further evidence that my bed incurred damages due to rushed IMPROPERLY PACKED and WRAPPED BUM WORK, because the Movers DID NOT SHRINK WRAP my furniture pieces to prevent scratching and chipping. The FIRST CREW I worked with during my FIRST BOOKING wrapped all furniture pieces, without me having to ask them, then tell them. I did that several times with Carlos, Guillermo & José. They cut many corners to rush through the job, I can assume I may find more damages once I begin to unpack. My coffee table wasn't wrapped as shown in the picture below, which it was wrapped my FIRST MOVING EXPERIENCE. Therefore, the damages pictured below are a result of LAZY and RUSHED work. This Moving Crew took MANY shortcuts to lessen their work at my EXPENSE. Before leaving my old location I wasn't given the opportunity to assess the back of the truck to packing review approval, which I did my first move and those Men had everything SHRINK WRAPPED AND BUNDLED TOGETHER IN PLASTIC WRAP. I advised Carlos & Crew that EVERYTHING WAS TO GO; they left behind the VACUUM CLEANER, SHAMPOOER, TRASH CAN, HAMPER, DOORMATS, MOP & BUCKET, STEP STOOL, DOORSTOP POLES until I advised them again, that EVERYTHING WAS TO GOOO!! Therefore, we chose to let our friends and neighbors know the real truth. Stating facts and pictures about your service or lack there of is not harassment it is honesty. Please do not accuse us of harassment as your company is the one who should be trying to make this right for your customers. 1/19/2022 TERRIBLE!!!! I didn't even use them. Hidden cancellation fees! $150 for just cancelling. Which is BS -"there's one of hidden fees." They charge $150 to reserve the truck which you lose no matter what. Do NOT use these movers. They only give you a range of prices because "they can not guarantee a price." I was calling to compare prices and was told this was not in the window cancellation. I could find no information about needing to happen within FIVE BUSINESS DAYS - but apparently I am illiterate. What do I know. All I know is I wanted to support a small business and now I'm screwed and out $300. DEFINITELY GO WITH ANYONE ELSE!!! Find the guys sitting outside Home Depot and you will have better experience. Justin was the con man who worked sales - "no worries" because he's taking your money.You will lose $150 no matter what. You must cancel 5 BUSINESS DAYS and they call you 7 before your move but it's not enough to get any of your money back. I can't tell how unscrupulous this company. There is no way I would trust them to move my possessions! Lots of small type!!! REVISION 1/20/2022 What a surprise! Tiana reached out from Customer Service as a follow up to my cancellation. She was very interested in what happened with my quote and how things wrong so fast. I explained to her my understanding of the dates, fees and contract and she volunteered to look in to this matter and said she would call me back. She did! She listened to my recorded call for the original quote and could see there were discrepancies between sales and myself as the customer. She said they had just started a new training program so there was definitely a breakdown in communication and their protocol. They did not explain things correctly and I understood them differently. Unbelievably friendly service from the first call with Andrew, he walked me through all of my options, and handled my virtual tour so he could provide an accurate quote. Today we had the official move with Luis, Everth, Eduardo, and Jesus. They packed my entire 3 bedroom townhouse and moved everything. Un-freaking-real. Wonderful service. These are some of the hardest working people I have ever met. My very pregnant self is incredibly grateful for all of the care and consideration they had for my belongings.
