If you want a simple menu with good, homey food and appreciate restaurants that locally source pick here. I'd come back for sure. The one thing that would bump my review higher: sides with the combos. Even a little hash brown would have gone a long way. My sister and I spent about $45 between one drink, the sandwich and grits, which isn't the cheapest around town, but I thought it was worth it for what we ate. Still, at $14 for a sandwich, I'd like a side included.

So this past Sunday, I took advantage of their Brunch. I started my Sunday breakfast with an adult beverage. Their Bloody Mary, has just enough spice to give it a good kick to start your morning. I don't know about you, but I always have to have a cup of coffee as a chaser for my Bloody. I take mine black and strong, to get through the entire day. For my entree, I built my own Omelette with, Spinach, Bacon, Onion and Cheddar Cheese. It was a light golden yellow and was filled with a generous amount of my chosen ingredients. As a side, it came with crispy potato wedges and a small cup of ketchup for dipping. The two paired together, made for an excellent Sunday Brunch. I always sit at the bar, since I usually dine alone and the service was attentive. The bartender was personable and lead the entire bar into a good conversation. I'm glad to be back in STL and I am super glad that my new condo is closer to Polite Society than my last home was. I'm confident I will be once again, be a regular.

We tried to come on a Saturday after visiting the Gateway Arch, heartbroken that they were CLOSED! No sign on the door, so we had to figure out a backup option. On Sunday, we tried again and because there was no number listed online, we took a chance and thank goodness they were open! It's a small diner with patio situation and we were informed there would be a wait which was fine with us. We were quickly sat at the (covered) patio on a gorgeous sunny day and enjoyed the views of people walking to see a game at Busch Stadium. Kelly was a wonderful server! Both the Bloody Mary and the Espresso Martini were excellent! The deviled eggs were a delicious appetizer. Hands down though, that biscuit breakfast sandwich was what breakfast dreams are made of! Kelly recommended the sausage which was rich and flavorful. The over-medium egg was perfection! Potatoes were well seasoned and mouthwatering. I'm going to be thinking of Fleur STL for many years to come and hope to visit again someday!

We were pleasantly surprised they weren't super busy, selfishly it was nice, but I hope it's not always like that because they deserve the hype. We sat at the bar and had great service the whole time. We started with a house made Bloody Mary (it had fantastic flavor) and an espresso martini (should we say the best in the city???). A piece of candied bacon came on the Bloody Mary and I'm still thinking about it. Then the food. I got a cheeseburger and fries and it was freaking fantastic. So juicy and tender, tons of flavor, one of the top burgers in St. Louis in my opinion. My husband got a special which was a braised beef Benedict and he was VERY happy. He likes a good burger and still said his meal was the best. They plate everything so beautifully, this is like a high class culinary experience in a (clean diner) with great prices. And the small menu is very preferred because it doesn't take you an hour to decide. And the fries - so fresh and crispy. This place deserves all the love. I was so impressed with it, it doesn't look like much from the outside but it is so worth it.

Food- 5 stars Ambience- 5 stars…read moreDescription of food - 3 stars Service- I hate to say a range of 1-5 stars and here's why: As a vegetarian, when I go to a restaurant I'm used to scanning the menu and deciding between 2-3 items. But here! The entire menu can be made vegetarian. So 5 stars for food. Everything that we had was ah-mazing. The proportions were just enough. You'll walk out satisfied but not full. Cute ambience- a cozy feel Description of food- I love how the menu identified common allergens. When we were seated, My daughter who is gluten intolerant, explained that she has a gluten allergy. She orders the Chakchouka that is listed as GF. It came out with slices of bread. We were not sure if the bread was gf. After about 10 minutes our waiter walked past us. We flagged him down and asked if the bread was gf and he looked at us like we had 10 eyes and said "no- absolutely not" and briskly walked away.... Well why would a server bring a child bread when they knew she was gluten intolerant? Which brings me to the service- We ordered 3 coffees. One hot with almond milk, one iced with oat milk and one hot with 1/2 and 1/2. The coffee came out and 2 "milks" were placed in front of us and our waiter moved on. We had to wait 5ish minutes before our waiter walked by again to ask what the milks were. He simply said - that one is 1/2 and 1/2 then walked away. Now I get it... if he was slammed... I'd understand why he was so short... but at the time we were in there there were 2 waiters and 4 tables. He was not slammed. We also didn't get the iced coffee until we flagged down a different waiter and he exchanged a hot coffee for an iced. The "other waiter" was on his game while I think ours was on hurting to get back on his phone.

The Fleur-de-Lys is the epitome of a luxurious getaway. Whether it is the quaintly appointed guest…read morerooms or the delightful library and parlor, each area of this former residence is unique and meticulously maintained. While it is not likely the norm, the owners, Mark & Leslie, met us at the front door, quite literally inviting us into their establishment. It was simply the most welcoming manner in which to be introduced to this treasure and Leslie quickly engaged us with the history of the home and how she and Mark had recently become the owners. We chose this destination based upon the significance of the Fleur-de-lis to my love, a native New Orleanian. Given St. Louis' rich French heritage, the mansion was originally outfitted with four chimneys that feature the fleur-de-lis design and the pattern is repeated throughout the home. While we enjoyed a quiet morning coffee in the back of the property, a lovely shaded patio area, she noticed how many places the symbol was present. She actually made mention to Mark & Leslie that they could make an activity out of counting/finding all of the fleur-de-lis around the home. What a fun idea! We were fortunate enough to book the Tower Grove Park room, a spacious room fitted with a king-size bed and a two-person jacuzzi tub. There is even a 'fainting couch' for that extra French touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable and the decor and accoutrements were exceptional, right down to the pocket doors and writing desk. But a B&B is set apart by the fare served in the morning, and this is where Mark, a chef by trade, and Leslie, a self-taught baker, knock it out of the park. That morning's menu included a fruit starter, fresh juice, Leslie's home-baked sourdough toast and home-baked English muffins, and Mark's egg and sausage soufflés with country potatoes. The entire breakfast had us completely over the moon! We felt so at home that we wanted to clear our own place - so we did! The rates are competitive and well worth every moment spent here. There is parking behind the property, as well as across from the property, and each guest is allowed a unique security code so as to gain entry while you are enjoying your stay. I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this getaway, and Mark, Leslie, & assistant Sammy made us feel like family from the moment we crossed the threshold. We'll be back - and you should give Fleur-de-Lys a try!

Overall rating 3.5/5, even though I can't give half stars here on Yelp. One star for ambiance/vibes. This is a gorgeous, quaint little eatery in a lush area of Saint Louis County, right near Grant's Trail. One star for service. My server was a kind lady who made sure I was always doing well and kept my water glass topped off. One star for going above and beyond--I ordered gooey butter cake as a sweet treat and apparently whomever cut the slices made them too small so they gave me two but only charged me for one. Half a star for the gooey butter cake and espresso martini. Neither was the best instance of either I've ever had but they were the best part of the actual meal. Unfortunately, I think I made the wrong entree choice. I went with the biscuit (singular) and gravy and a side of sausage links. The biscuit is described as "jumbo" but didn't feel much bigger than what I'd consider a regular-sized biscuit. It also wasn't nearly as fluffy as I would have liked and was quite tough and hard at points, nearly requiring the use of a knife to cut it. The gravy was relatively flavorless and wasn't improved much by either salt or pepper. The sausage links were passable. I'm willing to give the shop another shot (and order something different) once I try some other brunch places on my list but I was a little disappointed on this visit because I wanted to like my food more.
