Cute spot! I appreciate its uniqueness. And one of a kind names of food. lol it does make it difficult to pick something though because you actually have to read all the descriptions to know what each item is. The lady at the cashier was not the friendliest. Very monotone. The food itself was okay. The morning wood was not great. I got the ample breasts which was better! Overall vibe is unique and fun though! read more

Stopped here for an easy Sunday breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Service was very nice order at the counter, get your number, and seat yourself. Pricing was good and portion sizes too. They had a lot of fun cocktails and mocktails on the menu too. Saw some people with these yummy popsicles they made in house too, perfect for a hot summer day.Husband and I got the breakfast plate -- eggs, ham, and home fries -- all of it was great and came out quickly. Will 200% be back! This place is LGBTQAI+ friendly ‍‍ read more

Supporting my favorite local coffee shop because they are wonderful and delicious! The food is worth the wait but they serve excellent choices in salads and sandwiches! The also have a great breakfast menu all say as well! The service is what I enjoy the most because they make sure they got everything noted as far as how you want your drinks and food made to order! The ambience is a lgbtq friendly coffee with adult themes! Don't forget to shop their unique gift shop items too! read more

If you're looking for a place where your inner 12-year-old boy mentality can giggle uncontrollably while your adult self enjoys a damn fine cup of coffee, Shameless Grounds in St. Louis is your nirvana. It's in the Benton Park neighborhood at 1901 Withnell Ave and is a sex-positive café that has been making uptight people uncomfortable since 2011. and we love that! Upon entering, you're greeted by an atmosphere that's as cozy as your grandma's living room if your grandma was into risqué literature and cheeky décor. The walls are lined with human sexuality lending literature. Now, let's talk about the menu. I couldn't resist ordering the "Morning Wood," a breakfast bowl. The combination of eggs, cheese, and your choice of meat or veggies so satisfying, it almost made me mature. Almost. The staff here are friendly and inclusive, making everyone feel welcome. Shameless Grounds isn't just about food and drinks; it's a community hub. They offer free STI testing every other Friday and provide an array of safe sex supplies at no cost. Because nothing says "I care" like grabbing a coffee and a handful of condoms on your way out. read more

If you like supporting local, supporting the marginalized, sex, and good coffee you shall not be shamed in shameless grounds. If you hate sex, hate inclusivity, and can appreciate good coffee... steer clear! Shameless grounds is a wonderful spot and safe space for all to gather under the guise of good brew. The staff are awesome, super nice, respectful, and accommodating. The interior is sex themed. But not traditional sex. No, this place is kinky. Which is interesting because when I think coffee I think calming, relaxing. This is the opposite. A stick it to the man establishment, if you will. You're getting punched in the face with erotica themed drinks/dishes, all sorts of toys/gadgets. It is insanely playful while still feeling very serious. Absolutely a great spot. And, well, as you can tell by the photo, my latte was already empty before I remembered to snap a photo. So, let that be an indication of the coffee quality (fantastic, sexy). read more

Love love love this coffeehouse! But it is so much more than just coffee! It is a meeting space, a place to eat and enjoy adult beverages and where you can read some fun things! I wouldn't suggest taking kids there to read a book but they have a back patio to take anyone and enjoy each other's company! A great corner coffeehouse with even better service inside! read more

What a quirky spot, haha! Delicious food, good bevvies, fun entree names. Very sex positive, kind of refreshing to see! Good service, nice outdoor seating area. Would recommend stopping by if you're in the area! Street parking available. read more

The meaning behind this Cafe is really awesome. It's sex, positive and educational, everyone is welcome there. The coffee and drinks are good. The food is pretty basic but also good and the menu items have hilarious names. Staff is kind of abrasive at times and not super smiley? But food and drinks have always come out quickly and I've been happy with the overall experience there. read more

I came here on my lunch break for a light lunch, and this southwest chicken salad called "Reverse Cowgirl " hit the spot. I also got the bottomless iced tea with it. The salad uses butter salad, which is light and refreshing. Crisp but not as crisp as iceberg lettuce. The chicken on top is served hot, which is really comforting with the chips corn and tomatoes. The sauce is a Chipotle ranch, but it's a thin sauce, so you can easily just add a little and spread it around without it being overpowering. This business is by a park on a residential street in soulard/benton park, so it feels nice parking and walking in. The building is a classic brick walls and wood floors and trim st louis style home. I asked if they roasted their own beans, but they do not. They only bring in beans from local roasters to use. The food came out quick, and I was able to drive here, eat, and back to work within 30 minutes while still feeling like i had that taking a break from the workplace experience. read more

Review Visit: November 6th, 2016 Looking for a coffeehouse in St. Louis, MO led me to this very interesting place. Long story short, I needed to find a coffeehouse that was open late on a Sunday as I was driving down to see a concert. A quick look on Yelp led me to this place. Quite the interesting coffeehouse. It is a 'sex positive' place. Not exactly sure what that means, but they seem to support people regardless of sexuality. The place itself was nice. The inside was cozy. They have a library which you can check books out. There is a decent sized food menu. There are baked goods. They have coffee, naturally. The tables were unique and are definitely NSFW, so be careful while scrolling through the photos. I ordered my usual Iced Caramel Latte, sat down and chilled until they brought it out to me. While it wasn't the best coffee I had (it was mostly espresso and milk without much caramel flavor), I can fully support a place like this. It was busy for it being a late Sunday afternoon and the crowd seemed friendly. Staff was equally friendly. I am guessing there is a campus nearby as it seemed like a popular alternative spot for college kids. A pretty unique place that is warm, friendly and open to all kinds of people. I told a friend about and they are wanting to go, as it would be right up their alley. read more

I came here to check out a new coffee shop with a unique vibe. I ordered an iced caramel latte and a gooey butter cake. The interior is so cozy and inviting. I would love to come here next time, just hang out with my laptop and lounge. The staff was super friendly, and I got my order in mere minutes! If you're looking for a new coffee shop in town, I highly recommend this coffee shop. It passed my vibe check. There is also a backyard area, but I never got to check it since it was pouring when I stopped at this coffee shop. read more

An amazing community resource that I want to stick around forever. Shameless Grounds is basically a coffee shop and cocktail bar built "into" a sexuality/alternative relationship/kink library. If you're not into kink, they have a wide selection of sexuality/ethical non-monogamy books that might be interesting to see - even if that's not your cup of tea. We just came here for coffee. We had a flight, and we bought even more to-go. NOTES: -NOT KID FRIENDLY. This coffeeshop is focused on alternative sexualities; there's nothing really explicit (aside from plain ol' nudity), but I think a lot of parents would be uncomfortable having kids in here. The establishment itself requires anyone under 18 to have a guardian with them. -You can't check out books on your first visit AND you need to be local to the area. Expect to come back another time if you want to check anything out. -They offer cocktails as well. PROS: -THEY HAVE COFFEE FLIGHTS. I died and went to heaven. Coffee flights are probably my favorite thing in the world, and they have multiple to choose from. I wish I could have had them all while I was here, but I would have died of a caffeine overdose then. -Their coffee was fantastic too! I can't find their iced latte flavors on their online website to give you the names, but they have a wide menu of "flavored lattes" like you'd expect at most coffee shops. They had a coconut and lavender one that were both fantastic in the flights! -There's a "wheel of indecision" - a bit niche, but it was cute that you could spin a wheel and instantly arrive at a drink to have. -Looking through all of the library books is so much fun while waiting for your drinks. It's like a built in thing to do that isn't your cell phone. -Someone who stocks the library definitely has a thing for vampires. A surprising number of vampire books and some inspiration for new ones I want to read! -You can purchase a few limited kink restraints and accessories here if you'd like. They look locally-made. -The ambiance here is pretty cool. They have dolls set up in kink predicaments, and they have tons of art/posters on the wall about sexuality and kink. It's a very sex-positive space. CONS: -Staff seemed a little standoff-ish until they realized we weren't looky-loos. It's probably one of the least friendly welcomes I've ever had in a coffee shop before. -Due to theft, all of the kink books aren't available on the library shelves; you have to sort through a binder and ask to see them. I wasn't about to ask staff to bring out books for me just so I could casually peruse them, so I was a bit sad about that. read more

Sex-positive themed coffee shop with scantily clad baristas, a library of erotica, sex themed decorations, and a basic menu (all of which has sex related names). Have a great patio. The LGBTQ+ safe space with drinks, coffee and food is an AMAZING and much needed concept, especially in St. Louis. Sadly, the menu is over priced and, regardless of the very cute names, pretty unimaginative. The main reason for the subpar review is staff. The people that work at Shameless Grounds genuinely believe that they're so much cooler than their clientele, that simply getting your order right is the pentacle of good customer service, and we patrons should be honoured to spend our money here. You all need to get over yourselves. read more

Not sure I have thoughts, coffee was good (all black) just don't take kids. As a believer I felt a sense of shame standing in the standing room. Choose to leave rather feel the energy that wasn't necessary. Not a downfall to the business, it can be someone else's place of enjoyment. (Belonging) read more

Ever since I moved back to south city after a long vacay... I occasionally been hitting this cafe and their patio for Cubano's and tasty pumpkin bread. Shameless Grounds is a truly magical place. The staff is amazing. The owners are amazing. The vibe is amazing. The Jack Yo' Lantern puts any other Pumpkin Spiced Latte to shame and is my absolute favorite coffee beverage in St. Louis. Having a quiet morning on their patio with a plate of breakfast treats or a DELICIOUS sandwich is one of my favorite activities. And best of all they've created an environment centered around care, mutual respect and acceptance. I love all they do to care for the safety, well-being and happiness of their staff and customers. If you haven't checked them out yet... what are you waiting for! Get yourself over there! read more

I think it's aiming for sex positivity, but I didn't see many d**ks around. Mostly just tatas and serious examples of male gaze...almost worth docking a star. But, whatever. I didn't even know it was sex-focused until I walked in, it just happened to be walking distance from a place I was renting and open pretty late. Stars for the hours! STL overall has a lot of cafés with weirdly limited hours. I ordered a pot of earl grey and the hummus side. I loved the tea service and the hummus side was probably the best healthy snack I've had at a café. Great selection of veggies with it. read more

I wanted to like this coffee shop so badly! I loved the space, the decor choices, the sex positive atmosphere, but I just didn't enjoy the coffee as much as I wanted to. Our barista wasn't especially friendly and I felt rushed to order my food and coffee. I ordered a sandwich that look about twenty minutes to come out. It came out in a fun design, but I don't think that was enough to make up for the so-so quality. Overall, I was disappointed with my experience; however, I plan on giving them another chance - I want to love this place! read more

Wonderful sandwiches and breakfasts, delicious pastries, and a delightful selection of drinks. The patio space is lovely but the real charm is the library inside. Yes, you can check out the books! And what books they have! This is a sex-positive and kink-positive space which means, as their name says, there is no space for shame. That's not to say it's about sex. It's about what they sell: great coffee, yummy food, and a truly welcome space for all. Come in, order lunch, grab a book, and prepare to have both tummy and mind satisfied. read more

I was hoping to like this coffee shop more from all of the pictures I saw and the reviews I was reading. It is located a little farther than I'm used to going for coffee so it's taken me a while to get there. I liked the interior, very bright and warm and of course, I appreciated all the little touches. Atmosphere matters a lot. Their back patio was also very spacious and conveniently set up for late night gigs, I'm sure it'd be fun to be there at night. I wanted to like it but there were too many things standing in my way. I ordered the hummus platter, which was fine. Nothing special. A bunch of vegetables with okay hummus for an okay price. The pastries did not look appetizing wrapped in plastic. I ordered an iced latte and the shot was very bitter. The drip coffee was even worse. Very burnt. And the service was just OK. Nothing special. She seemed very distracted and out of it. Which was fine, just combined with everything else, I just had an OK time and probably would not be back. read more

I think I anticipated something more and it just didn't meet my expectations. I love the theme of a sex-positive and body image coffee shop. But it just turned out to be a lot of old furniture with some print out of positive sex quotes. There is a small library collection of 18+ material. The coffee shop is not very large, but there is a patio. The coffee and food is very underwhelming and while the people are nice - I wouldn't make a special trip back here to do work. read more

Pure shock and awe when I walked into this place. The first thought that came to my head was "wow what a nice place I could definitely see myself studying here!" and then I noticed it all. Statues and photos of bondage, sexual freedom, and even busts of women's private parts. Then I thought "okay this place is really great". I think the idea of putting it all out there while still remaining a relatively classy and "family friendly" (?) joint is super fun. It's in the right area over in Benton Park and the staff is friendly but also appropriate for the place itself. I have gotten a few things there to eat and drink and I have thoroughly enjoyed it all. They also have a nice patio in the back which is very open and welcoming! If you're into sexual freedom, have no shame, and like a nice coffee shop, come here! read more

I love coming here but rarely is it my first thought. The coffee is nothing special, but it's not all about the coffee at Shameless Grounds. The entire ambiance is something that the rest of St. Louis just has not captured yet. A safe space for everything sexual, the vibe is just one of welcomeness. And before you ask, children are not allowed here. If you are close minded, this may be too much for you as well. The decor is everything sexual. There are walls of books from eroticism to self-help, and the tables are plastered with women and men in all sorts of sexualised poses from magazines over the years. There does not seem to be any taboo, and it makes the place an overall treat to visit. On top of that, the staff is just pleasant to a fault. You order at the back, but they bring it out to you when it's reading, which is usually quick. I have heard some grumblings about the food, but I have never had a bad meal here, but I do not always eat here so I may just be lucky. On top of that, they have alcohol. I come here to write papers and the choice between coffee, and a good beer is always a nice problem to have. One to keep me awake, one to keep the words flowing. It's not an expansive bar, but it is just enough to spice up a coffee or just have a good pint. Overall I do like this coffee shop. It's not perfect, but that doesn't mean it's not worth a visit. I will keep coming back here because every time I visit, I am reminded of why I keep coming back. Good people and a healthy environment are always a plus, and a reason to return time and time again. read more

I really want to love this place but it embodies alot that I love; coffee, good work space, sexuality and food! For some reason every time I go, the service is just bad. The baristas are very cold and when I asked her something about the menu she didn't say a word and just put a menu in my face. The coffee options are pretty good but I don't suggest a smoothie because they are very basic. I will probably go back and give it another shot because it's very close to my house and it's one of the few places in Soulard/Benton Park that is open past 4pm. read more

I was a big fan of Shameless Grounds original location but I wasn't feeling it here. The quick and dirty? It's smaller and the food was pretty bad even for coffee shop standards. I ate it. It was pretty "meh." I got the LGBTQ and I have no idea who invented it but it just tasted like something you make drunk or with leftovers. The cheese sauce tasted like it can from a can/jar. My fellow diners weren't very enthused about food either. The coffee was fine, nothing special. I imagine the sex-positive theme of the coffee shop is a big pull to why people come out. The atmosphere is quirky and fun. They have naked people pasted everywhere and a sex-book library. Be careful though...if you don't return your book they'll print your picture on the "Wall of Shame." I'd be open to giving it a second chance but I won't be back anytime soon. read more

Pretty interesting little coffee house. Shameless Grounds are big proponents of sex-positive culture. I had no idea what this meant until I visited their website and read the "About" section. They believe "that the appropriate uses of sex extend beyond reproduction." (from their website). That being said this may not be the best place for someone that is may find naked pictures of males and females offensive or inappropriate. There is what I feel as a normal sized menu for the coffee shop. I ended up getting the Ample Breast, and my wife ended up with the Chauvinist Pig. I wasn't a huge fan of either of the sandwiches unfortunately. I thought they were decent, but was expecting a little more of a wow factor. I guess unique names like that it set my expectations high. Not a huge fan, but to each their own. I can see why others like this place. read more

I am not a coffeehouse person at all, but I will make an exception for Shameless. Shameless is just sexy. I was never exposed to the previous location so all I know is the 'new' Benton Park location. It is a cozy place to roll up to, have a cup of whatever suits you, and relax. I can't speak much for the main interior since I can't seem to pull myself out of the patio area. However just by glancing, it looks very cozy and comfy inside. I am sure I will get plenty of exposure once it cools off in a few months. I am in the process of sampling through their goods and so far - everything has been excellent. Their bakery items are simply delicious. I love the cranberry pecan scone. The wife sampled the vegetarian sandwich (Farmer's Daughter), and it was delicious as well. The staff are super, super friendly and chill. The ambiance is nice. It's just a good place to go hang out whether it be alone or with friends. They also allow dogs on the patio, which is a big plus in my book. I will have to update once I make my way through the beverage menu as I'm sure I will be back again and again and again. read more
