So this review might seem short, But if I didn't have much reservation in 40 minutes I would have eaten here for sure. This was on a weekend to Cincinnati down close to Over the Rhine. The old school music player was just incredible still sounds great. Of course you know you must try French Fries everywhere I go. These were the perfect shoe string type of fries with Mornay sauce ( it was delicious). Great outdoor space, but please make reservations this place was packed so I just sat the bar.
Finally tried Sacred Beast! We had heard a lot about and read great reviews-- seemed worthy of venturing to OTR to check it out. There was an FCC game that evening -- we did not realize that meant multitudes of orange clad fans vying for dinner before walking to the game. Luckily we had a reservation, so the three of us were seated quickly. We started with drinks, then ordered the lobster bisque fries with cheese curds to share, dirty French hamburger, gnocchi with a wine sauce and the fried chicken. All was tasty. Highest votes went to the fries and the Dirty French burger (would order these again!); next the chicken (some spicy crispy things came with it) and last the gnocchi. Service was casual and friendly but slow ("Is she ever going to come back?"), due to the game crowd no doubt. One drink took a good 20 minutes to arrive, but food came out without delay assisted by servers from the kitchen. Very casual. There are paid parking lots...but on a game night....be prepared to walk several blocks.
Cute vibe with plenty of natural light coming through the windows. Our server was super nice and we never went long without her stopping by to check on us. Food was fine for the most part. Nothing I had was amazing, though. I didn't care for the eggs or pancakes but the meat in my "diner breakfast" meal was better.
I'm gunna be 100% honest .... It's not the bees knees .... Everything aesthetically looks amazing, but taste wise it's alright. We tried all the top menu items and there really wasn't anything I would come back for. Deviled eggs were decent but tasted better if u put the fries on top, the fries with lobster gravy? I tasted noooo seafood whatsoever and there definitely was not seafood meat either so don't be fooled by the name ... at best they prolly made a gravy with seafood shells just to call it that ... $15 for fries ... I'm good ... the dirty French was prolly the thing I liked most and I'd give it a 6 .... Chocolate pudding tasted like pot de crème .... Not chocolate pudding ... chicken schnitzel was alright as well... Hate to say it but it's true ... our server was amazing though. Atmosphere definitely had the Diner feel for sure.
If you're looking for good breakfast/brunch, this is a good choice! Walked in w no reservations on a Sunday and got a spot at the bar as everything else had been booked up. Bartender was super cool and the food came out real quick and was tasty. Shoutout the goetta breakfast!
Service was quick and friendly You can never go wrong with the deviled eggs- always fresh and flavorfully balanced- The fries with mornay are a bit steep, but this batch was worth the 7 bucks I got the Mahi Reuben and the kitchen didn't drain the sauerkraut well the whole underside of my bread was a soggy mess- but it was still pretty delicious. They are spot on with the food temps- everything comes straight out fresh and hot- and I appreciate that
Went here as it was featured on DDD which means Guy Fieri ate here. We watched the show right before going and it was nice to see the staff from the show right at the door. We got the food featured on the show, the Dirty French burger and the Chili Crunch Chicken Nuggets. We also split fries which were ok. Service was average. Parking is costly unless you can score on the street parking. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The chicken nuggets were to die for! Honestly the best I've ever had, so crunchy and delicious!
Delicious Cincy breakfast, especially for out-of-towners looking for something interesting. This place has got some more items specific to this area, so it's not your regular pancakes and hash browns. We are talking oatmeal sausages, deviled eggs, neckbone gravy. As the mister is a connoisseur of deviled eggs (har har), we of course picked that. I also love any kind of western breakfast plates, so I opted for the goetta breakfast, which I haven't found in any other places in the world yet but Cincy :O We also got some pancakes to round it out. The deviled egg is almost... too scrumptious for breakfast with the pork rinds! However, it is a littttttle less flavourful than we thought it'd be even with all the ingredients like mustard seeds in it. Pretty solid over all. The goetta breakfast is a must try because it's so interesting -- but it definitely brings back to mind when folks had to be more resourceful. The whole plate was delicious though! OTR is filled with delicious restaurants and bars already... add this to your list for a nice Sunday brunch!

We began with a dirty chai latte, aromatic and comforting, though I personally would have enjoyed a touch more sweetness. The dirty French, customized gluten free, was rich, decadent and deeply satisfying. It felt indulgent in the best way and showcased the kitchen's ability to balance comfort with culinary intention. To go, we ordered the crunchy chicken nuggets, fries and lemon ricotta pancakes. The fries were outstanding, perfectly crisp and addictive. My husband loved the pancakes, light and flavorful with a bright citrus note. The gluten free nuggets were enjoyable, though they did not quite reach the level I expected compared to the rest of the menu. Overall, Sacred Beast offers a dining experience where hospitality and thoughtful cooking meet effortlessly. It is a place that respects dietary needs without sacrificing taste or creativity, and one I would gladly return to.
Came for a late afternoon brunch. That by itself is 5 stars because brunch any time of day is my love language. So I'm biased. But the food is GOOD and so is service! The staff isn't snooty and the ambiance can be casual family or date and everything in between. This was my second time eating here and this time was better than the first time. Mostly due to service being consistently better
I wasn't entirely sure what to expect coming here but was totally blown away by the food! Came here on a Saturday night with some friends. It's a pretty big spot with lots of seating. Big fan of whatever playlist they had playing too. We started with some apps of the pork rinds and steak tartare. The tartare was decent but the pork rinds were delicious! A nice generous serving of them as well. For entrees we got the Chili Crunch Chicken, Fried Mortadella, and the Schnitzel. All of them were great but the Chili Crunch chicken really stood out. They're basically like fried chili chicken nuggets in a rice bowl. The rest of the menu looked great as well, we will definitely be back to try the rest!
Cute ambiance and liked the vibe. Made a reservation for brunch on a Sunday which was a good move because it definitely got busy! I ordered the Diner Breakfast but subbed the pork belly for the Hashbrowns. The lemon ricotta pancakes were delicious - not too sweet. The scrambled eggs were a bit runny for my liking. The hashbrowns were really good! I wasn't sure what to expect, but they were tasty and the kimchi ketchup had a good flavor that paired well with it. I even put the kimchi ketchup on my eggs. Things that didn't go so well - the food took a long time to arrive. Our waiter sort of disappeared for a while too and my friend wanted another drink. We ended up having the person who brought our food out put in another mimosa for her. Unfortunately the second one had a different juice than what she wanted (the one she got for her first drink), so that was a miss.

This is by far one of my very favorite places in Cincinnati, especially for brunch. We have been back multiple times, and this time, we brought some friends. Every dish is fantastic. The ambiance is welcoming and has an eclectic vibe. The staff is amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more
Don't be so modest Sacred Beast...you are much more than a Diner. If this is just a diner, I guess a lion is just a cat? Sacred Beats is out of the box menu featuring elevated takes on classics. Who doesn't love an all day breakfast menu? From fois gras and steak tartare to omelets and matzah ball soup, this menu has something for just about anything you're in the mood for. The deviled eggs(chilis, pork rinds, pickled mustard seeds) are not to be missed. The lemon ricotta pancakes are melt in your mouth good. And how can you go wrong with maple glazed pork belly? But surprisingly, the best thing I had was the cheesy eggs. I've been making eggs for over 30 years, yet I have never come close to achieving eggs this good. Scrambled, soft, fluffy, perfectly seasoned. It was perfect even before the cheese came into play. The cheese takes it to a whole other stratosphere! I have no idea who this Beast is or what makes him Sacred, but there are some holy things going on in between these walls. Easily my new favorite spot in OTR! read more

Where to even start? On Sunday 09/28/25 I made a reservation for Saturday 10/04/25 @ 7pm. We are regulars at OTR restaurants and have visited most of them in that "cluster" but had not tried Sacred Beast. We live in SE Indiana and it takes us about 35 min to drive in and we know we have to find parking in OTR so we give ourselves plenty of time. Well we arrived ahead of schedule because the drive in and parking were a breeze so we are there about 20 min early. The hostesses told us our table wasn't ready and it would probably be ready hopefully by 7. They told us we could have a seat and then pointed to 2 chairs that were separated by a coat rack or we could sit at the bar. We chose the bar. We were greeted immediately but then completely ignored for the next almost 15 minutes. Finally got our drinks and our table was ready. We were seated at a two top table (which was great) right next to the patio door. My back is now right where everyone going in and out to the patio has to pass by. This is not relaxing or enjoyable. We made reservations, waited all week, arrived on time and waited patiently to find out that Sacred Beast wasn't going to give us the same level of attention that we had given them. After a decade-plus of being let down by OTR restaurant hype (think the big early trio of Senate, Bakersfield, and the Eagle), our expectations are no longer very high when we enter the neighborhood for dining. When we first visited last year, though, Sacred Beast was, for us, the first OTR restaurant to blast past that now-lower threshold. The name, which seems to fit into the urban-bro aesthetic of the Vine Street restaurant row, wasn't very promising, but the menu, with its high-end-diner and higher-end-app-and-entree mix, was at least fascinating. It was a very simple dish that immediately served notice that Sacred Beast was something special: just a shaved veggie salad, but it was artfully assembled and amplified the flavors and textures of a variety of fresh vegetables you don't see every day. Almost every menu item we've had after that (three visits so far) has offered up either wonderful surprises or was simply delicious, if not both. Sacred Beast has easily surpassed our expectations. On that first night, we also had the deviled eggs. Who gets excited about those? But Holy Baby Bejeebus, these are just about the best, and most beautiful (check the photos various diners have posted), deviled eggs you've ever had. They've got chilis and pork-rind bits and are sprinkled with mustard seeds and look like they're painstakingly assembled by a pastry chef. ("This ain't no picnic," so to speak, but deviled eggs from a marvelous alternate world.) I also had the smoked salmon "lox" sandwich, which wasn't exactly the most exciting concept ever but, again, all the ingredients were very fresh, and they clicked. That night, the wife had the chili crunch chicken, which looked like a high-end version of some kind mall-food-court Chinese item--frankly, it seemed kinda ridiculous--but it ended up having huge but balanced flavors and was really good. Next time, we had the salmon tataki, and I had an apparent mainstay from the menu's entree section, the chicken schnitzel. The tataki included kimchi, which I thought might overwhelm the salmon, but they actually worked great together. And the schnitzel was topped with what amounted to a big arugula salad, which I though might ruin the crispiness of the fried chicken. But it didn't. Both dishes were excellent. On a third visit, we started with beef tartare. This, of course, wasn't the classic version with capers, etc., but instead had manchego cheese. Perhaps the first surprise that wasn't a home run, because this was a bit bland even if all of the products were top-shelf and the dish was fresh-tasting and texturally pleasing. But a cod beurre blanc really showcased the kitchen's fine-dining chops--a simple dish beautifully composed and executed. And at only $22, a good value by 2023 standards. So yeah, Sacred Beast calls itself a "diner." The wife did order the omelette (piquillo peppers and goat cheese) plate this last time. The restaurant hit that nail on the head, too. But for me, Sacred Beast's real value lies in mixing and matching items from the non-diner parts of the menu. Although slick and urbane like many other OTR restaurants, Sacred Beast is owned and operated by a family, and they seem to apply quite a bit more personalized care and imagination to what's going on here than you see elsewhere. (No "restaurant group" painting by the numbers here.) Service has been great for the most part, the cocktails are good and fairly priced, and the music program is certainly better than those of most restaurants. All pluses. All in all, one of the more satisfying restaurants in town. read more

Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was busy. However we were seated within a short amount of time. They have a full bar available also. We ordered the Dirty French hamburger and the gnocchi. Both were good the gravy on the hamburger was a little over salted- but other wise very good flavor. Prices are moderate and service was efficient. read more
Solid Brunch at Scared Beast on a Saturday morning. Happy we made reservations at 10:30 as when we left at 12:30 this place was PACKED! I opted for the Pomme Nojito drink - it was very flavorful and they used a lot of mint which was great. My friends had bloody Mary's, mimosas and champagne and all of them liked their beverages. All the coup glasses were very cute. For my meal I had the Fried Goat Cheese Salad and added Chicken. This was unique and full of fun ingredients - a nice surprise vs. salads you often see on the menu at other places. The only reason for 4 stars is due to our server, when he came to take drink orders at 10:30 he only took 2 orders of the 3 of us physically sitting there. He totally ignored our 3rd person and I had to call him back after to take her order. Overall great location in OTR and unique menu - I will be back but hope for better service next time! read more

We had a great experience here. We were able to get reservations to guarantee a table for 8 the day after Thanksgiving. We were celebrating my parents 50th anniversary and our server did a great job helping us do so. And we have a gluten free and a dairy free member of the family and everyone was able to find something they enjoyed. read more

Idk what took me so long to get here, but I already can't wait to come back! They have huge booths that fit our party of 8 easily, and we were able to make a reservation for Sunday brunch ahead of time on Open Table. Our server Alex was amazing! He knew the menu so well and gave a fabulous rundown prior to ordering as many of us had not been there before. He was attentive and kept us informed about the kitchen being backed up. My favorite thing here is the deviled eggs! Holy cow they are delicious! For main entree I had the neckbone gravy and hashbrowns, which was good but definitely missing something. I wanted the hashbrowns to be cooked a little longer so they were nice and crispy. The chicken also was a little rubbery. Two of my friends got the dirty French burger which basically is French onion soup on a burger, they said it was delicious! Menu items change every so often and I'm looking forward to coming back and trying something else on the menu! read more

Ate here with my husband, BIL, and my son. Everyone loved it. My husband who has a restrictive diet was in heaven - lots of options for him. My son," (who is 7 and one of those kids who eats 2 bites and is "full") ate almost his entire cheeseburger which was pretty big! He also loved the French fries with cheese sauce (as recommended by our waitress). I ordered the goetta breakfast and it was great!! Espresso martini was also . We reserved outdoor seating and were sat almost immediately, even though it was decently busy! Our experience honestly couldn't have been better! read more
Just stopped for drinks. Wow, Try the different flavored Smash drinks. I had the Blood Orange one And my friend had the Mango. It's like a Mule, but better. Then switched to the Espresso martini, was delicious! So much coffee flavor. The Deviled eggs.... A MUST. To top it for my birthday, Jon the bartender gave a delicious Limoncello shot. I'm very disappointed I've never heard about this place and it's been in Cincinnati for years!! Breakfast all day?!? Sign me up! We came here for a friends birthday, they had really big six people booths which was nice, I got the hot honey tequila cocktail, they were also non-alcoholic mixed drinks as well, one of our friends got the CBD seltzer water drink and really loved it. Their selection of coffee is impressive even for dinner time. I was unfortunately not eating this day, but the food smelled fantastic. I can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu! read more
Fun vibes and good service, but I didn't love the food. The burger was pretty dang salty. The fried cheese salad was good though, and the meatball also tasted good but I'm happy we got it as a shared appetizer than as an entree as it probably would have been small and one note. Great vibe in this place! The decor has a really authentic feel and the wait staff is friendly and helpful. This Friday night we sat in the smaller room in the back and the server went out of the way to let me friend try small sips of a few of their red wines before she chose one. He was also great about describing the food and had obviously tried all the dishes. We kinda closed the place down but they were gracious to ask us to close our check out but didn't make us feel uncomfortable. We had the truffle risotto balls- super tasty perfect size starter. I also had the chili crunch chicken which was flavorful and not too spicy. Will definitely be back for the matzoh ball soup. read more

We really enjoyed our Sunday Brunch here on this cold snowy Sunday morning. The decor is totally cool casual. Really love the look and it feels very intentional. It wasn't super crowded and we were able to get a seat immediately. I'm guess this might now be the case on a nice summer Sunday when OTR is popping. The food was great. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they may just be my favorite pancakes in the city, they were perfectly soft and creamy. I also had a side of hash browns which were very unique and quite good. My boyfriend had the French toast which he loved. He really likes their scrambled eggs as well. He had a bit of an internal meltdown because they didn't have bacon, only pork belly. I would say that the pork belly wasn't the best, I've had much better and probably wouldn't order it here again. I feel like pork belly should melt in your mouth and this was quite tough. Great place! I highly recommend! Very unique and not your run of the mill diner. Can't wait to go back from lunch or dinner. read more

Vibes: modern diner/bar with a touch of quirkiness; bring a few or a group of friends Tasting notes: - Pork rinds and shishito peppers: comes still crackling and hot; big pieces with strong lime taste, not really spicy; good balance of the two; very shareable for up to 3-4 people - Neckbone gravy: hash browns are uniformly crispy with a surprisingly creamy interior, great surface area to sop up that rich, meaty gravy that is made more indulgent with Mornay swirled in; roasted chicken very tender; overall comforting dish but wish there were more hash browns and pieces of chicken, and maybe something to mop up the gravy! - Chocolate pudding: strong chocolate taste but overall both whipped cream and pudding are light on the tongue; appreciate the layer of crunchy pistachios under the whipped cream; could be split between two people after a hearty meal - Royal Sovereign: sweet and fruity, couldn't taste the alcohol Other thoughts: - Friendly service - Surprisingly busy at 9pm on a Friday Impression: consider coming back when I'm craving breakfast for dinner along with a cocktail or beer read more

I finally came back here for brunch! The Diner Breakfast is where it's at. I ordered scrambled eggs with their Lemon Ricotta pancakes. And I swapped the Pork Belly for Goetta. The Goetta was not my favorite, although it was a huge portion! It tasted like it had a lot of oats in it, so I would have preferred a smaller portion with more of that sausage taste. The pancakes are to die for! I'm not even a pancake person, but they were so soft and delicious. I would go back just for them. read more

We wanted to venture out for brunch and we could sit outside. Our waitperson kept apologizing and telling us he was "new". When we asked questions when he didn't know the answer he just asked another person. We got the deviled eggs without the bacon on them. They were spicier / better last time we came. But, my husband was still happy to eat them. My side salad was huge. I got it with the Blackened mahi Ruben which was also huge!! The mahi was cooked perfectly! My husband got the Dirty French to eat only it seems I missed the photo. To drink we tried the Euro tonic and the Tito's smash. He was so hungry - even though the burger wasn't exactly the way he wanted he still ate it completely! We will go back. We had good service the first time we were there. I do suggest changing up the menu. read more

Finally got to try sacred beast! And thrilled that we did. Thursdays they have a special, so we tried it. It was two double burgers with cheese, an amazing wedge salad with cucumber, radish, a beautiful egg, goat cheese, almonds, and pork belly with a hint of chili oil. It also came with the cutest, tastiest little hashbrowns and a bottle of wine. The food not only looked amazing, but it tasted the same as it looked. And the staff and the service was perfect. read more

My family and I were looking for something fun and different for dinner, so we made a reservation at the Sacred Beast after receiving a recommendation from a friend. Our experience was enjoyable, from start to finish. First, we were able to go online to quickly check table availability and make a reservation. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were warmly greeted and assisted with finding the best table location for our special-needs daughter who is in a wheelchair. The highlight of our visit, however, was the food of course. We started off with the Deviled Eggs, which were almost to pretty to eat. For my entree, I ordered the Brown Butter Salmon, which was absolutely to die for. My husband ordered the Dirty French burger, which he equally enjoyed. We are both eager for a return visit. This review would be incomplete, though, without giving a shout-out to the staff. From the person who greeted us at the door to the waiter who served us, the staff was friendly and helpful. We never had to wait when we needed more to drink, and the food was served quickly as well. I highly recommend the Sacred Beast. It it worth planning a trip into downtown. Bon Appétit! read more
