Fast Greek and Mediterranean food. Delicious humus and salads. Nice staff. Large portions

My niece and I were in the area and craving Mediterranean. We were starved so we were excited when we saw this place. I got the Jerusalem Salad and my niece got Chicken Shawarma. Unfortunately the food was a little bland. Didn't quite live up to what we know Mediterranean to be. Maybe we don't know enough but in all our years eating Mediterranean is always a treat. Sorry we really wanted it to be better. Maybe we came on a bad day. We'll have to try again to see. For now, not really recommending this place. I'll update if we ever go back and it's better. read more

We got takeout and ordered a bit of everything, the location seems popular based on inside traffic and reviews. Our group of 7 thought it was just ok. We agreed that it wasn't above other Greek restaurants we have previously tried, the spicy Greek fries were the best, all the meats were very dry, falafel was just meh. Great service. Definitely my go-to Mediterranean restaurant in the Valley. The staff is kind and attentive and the food...it's the best. This is a restaurant we went out of our way to support during the government-imposed closures because they are local and family owned. We ordered take out - A grilled Gyro, with tahini instead of yogurt sauce. and of course onions and tomato WOW. Huge and overstuffed. They did not skimp on the Gyro meat. One of the best Gyro's I ever had. Falafel with veggies and an amazing spicey sauce. The falafel balls were perfectly cooked, the sauce we great. Not too spicy, but a little heat added to the experience Spanakopita - Appetizer portion, 2 pieces. Well balanced, with a lot of spinach and cheese We picked up, but when I went in the delicious aroma coming from the kitchen was amazing. We will go back next week and eat in person. read more

Bottom line, I could be a regular here if I lived in AZ. The George's Caprese Pita is fantastic. The freshness of the caprese with the pesto and balsamic was a very tasty combination. I want this again! We paired our pita's with the enticing spicy feta fries. There was so much fresh feta that I put some on my pita too. The crispy fries held up perfectly with the buffalo sauce and feta. I would love these fries without any sauce too. The decor is very cool. Love the old fashioned tin ceiling. Place just felt friendly and relaxing. Not sure I will make it back this trip but would like to try the falafel pita someday. This visit just missed 5 stars mainly due to the long wait once seated. Pet peeve to see folks who come in after us get their orders taken first. I hope this is an anomaly and our next visit hits a home run! read more

Order food to go here for the first time. I got the gyro fries and omg they were amazing. French fries cooked perfectly topped with feta cheese, gyro meat and hot sauce. It was also a very large portion I had to stop myself from eating the entire thing. Also got a gyro salad and hummus combo. Gyro salad comes with a large portion of meat and the hummus container was fully loaded and came with plenty of pita bread. Would definitely come back. read more

I was completely blown away by my first experience here! From the service, the ambience, the food, I could not be more pleased. Our waitress was Stephanie and she was so thoughtful and attentive, as were the other employees who continued to check on us throughout the meal. The food was stellar. Everything was so fresh and flavorful, I could not get enough. We had the fresh hummus and pita, as well as the spicy fries as appetizers and they were amazing. My boyfriend got the Greek Burger and I tried the Chicago Gyro and we loved them. And I can't forget about dessert! The baklava was so yummy, I could eat a million. We cannot wait to return, and bring all of our friends and family! read more

Love this place. The Chicago gyros pita makes me happy. Have been getting take out during Covid. It's ready quickly and zoom zoom I have my food and I'm out the door. I frequently forget they're not open on Sundays, but that's a me thing not a them thing. I fully support their Sunday family time in this crazy world of ours. Had lunch here with my friend, I have never been here but she is a regular. It's a small place that seems to get a lot of business it was a full house. The staff were all very friendly. I am totally clueless to the menu so I let her take over, she ordered us a platter with different items honestly the only one I can remember its name was the hummus, but everything I had was delicious!!! On the platter she ordered I believe she said it was fried chickpeas, circular and similar appearance to sausage patties, oh my goodness I loved it!! So delicious!!! Everything was great!! Saba's Mediterranean Kitchen is a charming family style restaurant with good food. I enjoy coming here for dinner and ordering their hummus appetizer plate and Chicago gyro. I personally prefer the feta fries over the spicy feta fries (it is a bit too vinegary for me). Tried Sabas based on the reviews. The restaurant was very nice and quaint inside, I was surprised by how romantic it was as I was expecting more of a lunch type carry out place from the outside. The service was great. I'm a huge fan of Mediterranean food and wasn't a fan of their chicken shawarma. The gyro and rice were good, not great. AMAZING!!! We went to Saba's the first time last month after a recommendation from a friend. This is some of THE BEST Mediterranean food I've ever had. The falafel is on point... crispy on the outside and oh, so tender and moist in the center. The pesto hummus is to die for and everything that we ordered was made with care and attention to detail. It literally does not get better than this!! My husband gets the chicken kebabs and I get the gyro with grilled veggies and lamb shwarma. We went again for my husband's birthday and brought my mother who loved everything she ordered as well. The employees are super friendly and we can't wait for our next visit. We truly enjoyed the food. The hummus and baba ghanouj were amazing. They have outdoor seating which is why we chose it. We both had lamb shank because we love lamb. While it was cooked perfectly, it was covered in a sauce that overwhelmed the lamb flavor. Because they don't wear masks, we won't be going back until the pandemic is over.
