Just had Ryan come out and complete a second job- the front of our townhouse and to say I'm floored would be an understatement!! I can't recommend this landscaping company enough! Not only did they do a great job they went the extra mile to do things that weren't in the proposal but made the yard look nicer. They installed a new drainage spot since our HOA grass coming ran over ours with a mower and destroyed it; they cut and edged the grass, laid additional grass seed, seasonal plants, and trimmed our rose bushes!! Talk about stellar service!! Ryan initially did our side yard a few years ago and installed a drainage system; we attempted to have him cone out last year and do work in our backyard but scheduling conflicts and missed appts (in his side) led us to another company... that was a mistake. The other company over promised and completely under delivered... now that Ryan's completes the second job we will never use another company; we will just wait... it's well worth it. First, I have never hired this company. My neighbors use them. Based on what transpired this year and last, it's time to post a review. They come in with lots of guys, and always blow the neighbors debris. When they do this, they blow stuff into my beds and property because they are in such a rush. Last year and this year I have had to come out and address it. If I don't address it, then I have to clean up their mess. Today they did the spring clean up, and were spraying the yard with a herbicide afterwards--- in 18 mph winds!!! Are you kidding me?!?! NO ONE SHOULD SPRAY ANY HERBICIDE IN WINDS LIKE THAT DUE TO DRIFT. I watched the spray drift go onto my Azaleas and perennials that are budding. There is never anyone working that takes responsibility or to talk to that speaks english. Based on what I have seen, I wouldn't ever use this company. read more

We've used this landscaping service before. We bought the house in the summer of 2018 and the yard was in disarray. We'd asked for professional help leveling the side yard and water irrigation with French drains. I believed they's knocked it out of the park. In the middle of the summer the sod took and by the middle to end of the summer we had a green lawn. The second project (Mar 2020) we'd asked them to complete was sod, a tree stump gridding and a stone rock feature in the front yard. Yet again awesome outcome. They were quick and the price was very competitive. Both times they were on time and during the job constantly checked if the progress was to our liking. His prices are very reasonable (hard to find that in this area), Ryan is very responsive, and his crews are extremely professional. STEALS PERSONAL PROPERTY Please don't use this company!!!! I called the owner because I saw workers stealing fruit from our tree in our yard. Didn't catch them on video because they literally took fruit off the trees and then ran into their cars and drove off, but I caught the name of the company on the side of the cars. I received a call and Ryan said "It's personal preference if you want people to take fruit off trees in your own yard. Did you want me to bring back the fruit and tie it back on the trees?" Not really sure what the point of that statement was - why would I want the fruit that was taken off and eaten to be tied back to the trees? I really didn't appreciate the tone he took with me and made it seem extremely demeaning. I do NOT recommend him based on his professionalism. I get that I didn't have video proof, but I also think that response was unnecessary, unprofessional, and disrespectful. Wonder if this is a testament to how he treats his clients. Beware. They brought none of the roots for all of the bushes that they moved in our garden. We found the remains of the roots in their original location. My husband and I hired Ryan's Landscaping to do some regrading of our yard due to their excellent reviews and were left incredibly disappointed, felt accused, and largely insulted, not to mention multiple hundreds of dollars poorer. When we noticed that our sprinkler system wasn't functioning following the regrading, Ryan initially told us he would pay half of the cost for the visit of the sprinkler technicians. Ryan then reduced the amount he would cover to $150. Finally, we were told by Ryan that he believed we had this as a pre-existing issue, and that Ryan's lawyer would be in touch with us. After not hearing from the lawyer for nearly two weeks, my husband and I were left paying the full bill for a ~$600 repair for a system that was functioning prior to the regrading. When we shared with Ryan our disappointment in the interaction, we were told to "feel free to tell anyone u [sic] want". I cannot recommend hiring Ryan's Landscaping for any of your needs, as we felt this was an extremely unprofessional way to handle the situation. read more

On the job day his team was great and I am really happy with the final result. This used to be my least favorite side of the house as mulch and dirt would slowly slide down the steep hill. He was fine for the removal of some bushes and putting down new beds, but we were extremely dissatisfied with the sod he installed for us this summer. It was a bluish color when it came off the truck which I later realized meant it was stressed from the heat and it went to weeds very soon after. It was loaded with nutsedge and when I pointed it out to Ryan, he acted like it was not a big deal. But we all know nutsedge is a major pain in the butt to get rid of and quality sod should not be full of weeds. His workers also left garbage all over our yard. I was finding empty water bottles all over the place days later. He was easy enough to deal with, (at least before he started the work) and perhaps he is better at some things than others, and he seemed kind of responsive after I started having trouble with the lawn. His solutions however didn't seem all that helpful, not after spending the money that we did. The kicker was that he uses sod that has a plastic (non-biodegradable) mesh underneath that led our lawn company to tell us that they could not core aerate our lawn......EVER. After reading about this plastic mesh I have come to the conclusion that either he is using a lousy sod supplier or his workers didn't know they should remove the netting before installation. I tried to contact Ryan about this and he was unresponsive. He knows he's putting down crappy sod. Don't trust him. read more

I had an appointment set up to meet Ryan. Called after scheduled appointment time and said he was running at least another 30 minutes late. I said I had to leave soon and told him I was trying to make a decision as soon as possible to get yardwork done. He said he was so busy anyway that it would be at least three and a half weeks until he could get to us. He had an attitude as if he didn't really need the work anyway so it didn't matter.
