Not anyone you can trust to stand behind their work. Don't waste your time. Not a quality business.

I would never use this company again. Important components of the contracted work were simply not done. I had been away from the area for knee replacement surgery, returning the day before the work was to be done. I had exchanged several emails beforehand with Ryan to obtain clear confirmation of what would be covered in the contract before I signed it and sent the deposit. He confirmed all by email. They day of the job he showed up mid-afternoon to collect payment. Some of the work was fine, and the crew had worked hard. But when I was strong enough to walk behind the house after about a week, I discovered major omissions -- things like removal of tree trunk sections, boards, and a rose bush -- that were explicitly contracted and confirmed by email, but not done. Supposing they would readily come to correct this, I phoned the office manager, and later sent photos as followup. She confirmed she had followed the phone and email exchange, and the missing items should have been "in." Ryan called back quite late that afternoon; he was oddly loud, aggressive, and insulting from the outset. Instead of offering to come back to correct the omissions. He proceeded to make various arguments about why he would not complete the rest. First was that they had done "other things." Second was a claim that my son, who had brought me home after surgery, had "walked through with him five times." (Later he inflated it to "seven.") My son was not involved in the contract. Another excuse was that I had already paid him and added "extra" (which had been intended as a tip for the crew) so the work must have been fine. I've never had to deal with a business owner so unconcerned with square dealing, so immature, or unprofessional. After more emails, Ryan eventually emailed that he would come back and "look." He arrived today, parking his truck across the end of my driveway, blocking it. After constantly-shifting assertions that he would come back and complete one or another -- but definitely not all -- of the items contracted, I stated that he should simply complete what he had agreed to in the contract. He angrily stormed off. He phoned back to offer a check for $100 (much less than I'll have to pay to get the work finished, so not acceptable). What kind of business tries to change terms of a signed, written contract after the fact? Summary: incomplete work, volatile and rude behavior, intimidating behavior towards customer. Just don't use him, especially if you are a senior. NOTE: I'll be happy to change the review if/when he completes the agreed work. read more

Ryan does not follow through with agreed product. I requested a light pink stone 3/4-2" rock and he dumped pea gravel which has ruined my wood floors inside from being tracked in. He did not apply weed killer as promised. Did nit level out backyard or remove excess soil which i was overcharged for 3 trips (1 trip). Did not place border around all of yard. Terrible service at $3,900. I put a brick border to keep pea gravel in. DO NOT RECOMMEND read more

You can't go wrong hiring Ryan and his crew for landscaping projects, whether it is stone work, weeding, mulching, etc... Ryan is reasonably priced and his crew has always done a great job. I had him do some stone work in my back yard and it looks great. I also hired him to weed and mulch in the spring, and believe me, when I say weeding, there was no weeds anywhere after he finished. Increasingly sloppy work which damaged our yard. Instead of addressing the situation when I contacted the company, or even trying to remedy the situation, was told "perhaps you would be happier elsewhere" -- trust me, everyone will be happier elsewhere. We recently bought a home with a yard, but no grass. It was a bit of a mess so we met with Ryan to figure out what we could do about putting in a lawn, getting rid of pesky weeds, and improving the overall look. He was extremely responsive and able to fit us in quickly for a consultation. From walking around the property and discussing options with Ryan and, I could immediately tell he was an expert in his field. He had great ideas for little things that we could do to improve the look and was able to put together a plan for us. We now have a beautiful lawn and the property looks great as a result of his landscaping ideas. I would highly recommend Ryan because he is easy to work with and does great work. read more

Living in an HOA we have Ryans take care of the grounds. Living in Fl. probably has a difference than up north, but cutting grass is not a problem. His people do not know how to be "landscapers" because he gets them off the street and pays them little. I constantly have to be on them when trimming or pruning because they simply destroy plants. I think if you take on too many customers there's a loss in quality. read more

Totally love Ryan his crew. He's very easy going yet responsive. He came to our house last year when we first moved in and cleaned the front and the back, mulch, not sure what else. I was amazed! We had Ryan come out and clean up our yard, which was a mess. They got rid of all the leaves, mulched the front, took out many azalea bushes i did not want, got rid of all the weeds that had overtaken parts of the yard, edged the sidewalks, trimmed the bushes, got rid of the weeds that had grown into trees, got the ivy off of the shed and fence, and probably more i am not thinking of. I met with him on a Thursday and the work was completed the next day. Reasonable price. I contacted Ryan that day with a few little things that had been missed, and those were taken care of immediately. Ryan is friendly, responsive, and reliable. read more

If it were possible to get to give Ryan'sLandscaping less than one star, we would. This company get an F. Last week I called Ryan & explained we needed some "freshening" of the landscaping in front of our house prior to our daughter's party. We scheduled an appt. He didn't show up NOR did he respond to my repeated calls/messages or texts. We waited almost two hrs. He finally texted saying he never received my text w our address. Seriously?? THAT'S an excuse for not showing up??! Then he said we were not in his service area. Now we're stuck back at Square 1 and I can't even call other places today bc it's a holiday. Ryan's Landscaping did our yard today and the crew was exceptional. Our yard was a total disaster and Ryan brought in a huge crew. They not only weeded, edged and mulched our very large flower beds in the front yard, they removed a 8' by 12' shed, removed several huge overgrown shrubs and cleared out all the overgrowth in our back yard. They also cleaned out our stopped up gutters! Then they cleaned up everything including blowing out leaves and debris off our carport and deck! We cannot recommend this company more highly. I am immensely disappointed, and that's putting it mildly. I paid more than $5K to have a few trees removed October of last year. Some of the utility lines were marked, while others were not. I called the owner to advise him of this, and he assured me it was okay. It was not okay. My Verizon FIOS lines were cut, leaving me unable to work for three days. I told myself that it was an honest mistake, and since the owner Ryan seemed pleasant enough to work with, I didn't think anything of it. A couple of weeks ago (early May), I noticed shoots emerging from what was a locust tree, which was to have been eliminated, stump and all. I moved away a bit of dirt and there was the stump, not far from the surface. Just called the owner, and he refused to take care of it, saying he "could give me a price" for him to address the problem. I am appalled, not only at the lack of ethics, but also at the level of rudeness. The person I just spoke to bears no resemblance to the one who sold me his services. Wow. read more

Ryan and his team did a superb job landscaping my home. Ryan came to my house and walked through what I wanted done, provided some great advise regarding what type of plantings to add, what to change, etc. Then he worked with me on scheduling the job and was flexible when I had to change dates, and then the timing. He and his team were friendly, informing me of what was being done along the way, and completed everything in one day. They pulled out tons of ivy, laid sod, put in new plantings, mulched, trimmed bushes, and custom built and installed a trellis - all in one day! I am very happy with my yard and definitely recommend Ryan and his team for your landscaping needs. read more

I would highly recommend NOT using Ryan's Landscaping. His crew cut through our CLEARLY marked cable wire and he was rude and unapologetic. When I told neighbors not to use this company, two other people in my neighborhood said the same thing happened to them with this company. It would be one thing if he was apologetic and kind about it, but he certainly wasn't. We have more yard work we want done but would never consider using this company again. If you want all your neighbors to hate you, hire Ryan's. They're a loud, inconsiderate group, that, e.g., uses shovels to chop vines off wood fences of neighbors (do they know what pruning shears are?), and tosses all the equipment in a truck at the end of the day with loud clanking--it's a wonder the equipment survives. And judging from comments, they don't know know plants at all. read more

Ryan's is bar none the best landscaper in the region. I used him to cut and trim trees as well as cleaning my gutters. I've never seen a landscaper do such a thorough job. They spent three hours this morning making sure everything was up to my specifications. I can not express how good of a job they did. read more

Terrible service and final product! We had Ryan remove a large section of withering and spotty grass and install sod over the area. The sod he put in turned to weeds right away. I contacted him and requested he come by to look at it but got no response. We recently had another project done which required that contractor put some sod down around the patio he built. I treated both sodded areas the same. The sod put down by the patio contractor has turned out great. The sod layed by the so called landscaper has turned into a weed bed. Spend your money on a contractor that will stand by their work. Ryan has been unresponsive to our concerns. read more
