His team did an amazing job!…read more From start to finish, they were professional, worked efficiently, and did the work for a fair price. First, his team at KA hardscaped my back patio. I had concrete and they laid stone pavers over it. It looks amazing! They did the job in about a day and a half, and were careful to level the patio correctly so that water would drain into the drain already in my patio (which they also raised to be even with the new floor). My house is about 140 years old so there are a lot of lines that aren't quite straight, but you would never know it because they worked their magic to hide that. A big caveat of this project is that my patio does not have access from the back. This means that they had to come through my front door and through my house to get to the back in order to do the work. The team was so flexible on this issue and they were so respectful of my home. They laid down tarps to protect the floor and cleaned up when they left. Ultimately, the patio looks amazing and we have already enjoyed it so much! KA's team also repaired my brick stoop under my front door. It was a minor repair but parts of the stoop were wobbly and dangerous. They repaired it in just a few minutes and it looks as if it had never been touched. The stoop is very sturdy and stable now. Brendan also re-sodded my front yard and cleaned up a lot of overgrowth in my back patio. The sod in the front looks wonderful--you can hardly see the seams--and even after finishing the job Brendan followed up with me to make sure I was watering enough, since we had an unexpected heat wave come through right after he laid it. I have also asked Brendan to come back for mowing. In the back, I have a retaining wall with a tree, bamboo, and (formerly) overgrowth that is growing above the wall. It is an extremely difficult spot to reach. Brendan's team didn't complain at all and they got the work done quickly and so well. Although I originally wanted to cut down the tree, after talking with Brendan I realized that didn't make sense. He was very honest with me about what his team was/was not capable of doing and I really appreciated that. In the end, we left the tree but he pruned it so that the branches/leaves weren't in the way. They also cleaned up all the overgrowth and now the area looks neat and nicely kept up. It changed the whole look of my patio for the better, and now maintenance will be so much easier! Truly, Brendan and his team did an amazing job on every project I asked them to do. They were so easy to work with, were willing to do the work when there were some logistical complications, and the quality of their work was extremely good. I am so happy with everything they did and would hire them again in a heartbeat.

This was the first project we had with Groff Landscape Design. We have been landscape DIY-ers in the past so this was a big step for us to trust someone else with our vision. However, we recently moved into an peculiar contemporary home on a steep hill so we decided we needed some help. I am a designer myself so I can be....particular about pretty much everything. This however was not a problem with Groff. It was clear from the start that, like us, they saw this project as an opportunity to do something unique and unusual. I'm not the cookie cutter type and they were good with that. After working with their designer on detailed 3D designs we started the project in mid December...they worked through rain, snow, sleet (no hail) but I'm still giving them some serious credit. Very hard workers. The crew was clearly knowledgeable, I work from home was available to answer questions but I was very rarely interrupted (maybe two questions the whole project cycle) because they were well informed about what the needed to do. I appreciated that. The crew was also extremely polite, friendly and cleaned up the area each day when they were done. Something else I appreciated was their overall commitment to transparency. I will say that they are not cheap but their quotes are detailed and itemized in a way that you can clearly see exactly where your money is going and for the quality of work and level of experience, they are MORE than worth it. I should also mention that when we got our original quote, it was beyond our budget, however, in our meeting they went through each line item with us and worked out ways for us to get what we wanted AND be able to afford it. In the end we got everything on our list at the price we needed it to be. You can't ask for more than that. Project management was also way beyond my expectations. Robert was always available by phone AND replied to emails (!!) quickly. He is onsite when necessary and made sure everything ran smoothly and we were happy. So in the end, I couldn't be more pleased with GLD and they will my only choice in the future for landscape design.
