For two years in a row I have had to constantly follow-up to ensure I know when they were coming and they have not shown up as promised on two separate occasions. My first experience with this company for mulching was good. Happy with their service and work. I signed a contract based on the amount I had paid. This past spring they showed up under the contract for the same work performed the first time. They did not complete the entire project at the same cost and scope of work. When we found Blue Sky at the Dulles Expo Center, we loved their display, and Susan seemed to be very knowledgeable. we hired them to install a patio behind our townhome. we selected a cobblestone paver with polysand, and two planters made from stacked stone. the patio looked great, but they put micro gravel between the pavers. Not what we requested, not what was in the contract. Every time it rained, the gravel came out of the cracks. walking on it in bare feet was painful, like walking on legos. we contacted Blue Sky and they sent someone to fix it. all this person did was put 1/4 inch of polysand over the existing gravel. They've been out 3 TIMES to fix it, assuring us each time that they were going to fix it right. they didn't. Not the first time, not the second time, and certainly not the third. The quarter inch of polysand just keeps peeling up like old bathroom grout. now the warranty has expired, and about a third of polysand is missing. Every time I hose off the patio, more comes out. it's a half inch think at the most, not 3 inches, like the thickness of the pavers. I would NEVER use Blue Sky again and would NEVER recommend them. we paid well over $10,000 for a patio that's falling apart and won't stand the test of time. read more

I had Blue Sky for several years at a small rental and had no complaints. office staff are fine. but this year I received may questionable invoices. the last straw was my leaf removal on my large property in Leesburg. First removal in late November after 80% of the leaves were down was $390...and the specified on the invoice 2 people for three hours. 4 weeks later I had the second removal. Now it was $487 with no numbers specified for crew or time. After multiple calls i got an email saying I needed to keep in mind there may have been more leaves? BS. I spent nearly $5000 in 2024, and I will not give them another dime ever. Their prices on my large property are barely competitive, but I would rather pay more to a company I trust. While their office staff is delightful and responsive their crews try to charge for work they don't do, over charge for work they do and scam as much free billing as possible. The actual management team seems to reflect the attitude of the crews. These folks will do bad work and over charge you. They also have a poor relationship with honesty. read more

We called to discuss the 10% that wasn't as we had pictured. The staff was polite, scheduled a meeting with us in the yard to discuss alternatives and quickly revised the area in question until we were 100% satisfied. Based on a recommendation from a friend we hired Blue Sky to maintain our lawn. Their office staff (Kate and Connie) are great... however their ground staff are the worst. They just come and sit in the vehicle in front of your house and bill you for services that they never performed. Despite multiple phone calls and providing evidence that the work was not performed they stick with hand waving arguments rather than resolving the issues. Avoid this company at all costs. read more

I have been using this company for my landscaping for over a year. They were good at first and as thing progressed, things go considerably worst. My issue has to do with my flower beds. The first round I planted got totally destroyed. I spoke to them about it and told them that I would plant again and that I would put wires around the flowers. After a few weeks, I don't know if they changed crews but my plants were damaged again. I am very upset and will not be using them next year. read more

We used this company for five and half years. We just dropped them yesterday. We had a guy come out in April telling me how he was going to improve this one area in our back yard and I was so excited. I never saw him again and of course that part of my lawn NEVER improved in fact my whole lawn went to hell. Had to call several times as the movers were tearing our lawn up and one time tore an area in my neighbors yard up. I have to say they came back after calling and fixed my neighbor's lawn. I called this company to get 2 lawn cutting services at a price of 300.00. They charged my credit card 575.00. I called them to find out why and spoke with Kate. She said i requested garden weeding also which I did not. Then argued with me over my complaint. Basically calling me a liar. I have cancelled my new contract with this company and will never deal with them again. They are deceptive and unwilling to settle a customer dispute. Their policy of customer service is arguing with you and being rude. I know exactly what service I asked for and do not appreciate being their unwillingness to discuss the situation.
