We decided to stop by Ryan's Bagels for breakfast around 9 AM. When we walked in, it took a moment for the staff to acknowledge us, and the young blonde woman at the counter didn't seem particularly thrilled to be there. That definitely took away from the first impression, especially since we were the only customers in the shop at the time. On the plus side, the restaurant was clean and the food itself was actually really good. We ordered two sausage, egg, and cheese bagels, which were fresh, hot, and tasted great. We ordered a hot latte and it was good, and lastly we ordered a iced caramel macchiato, while a bit on the sweet side, was easy to tweak once I got home by adding a more coffee. I really don't like giving places lower reviews, but I always want to be honest. What really pulled the rating down for me was the customer service and the atmosphere; we felt more like a bother than a welcome guest. But if they can work on their service approach, it'd definitely be a spot worth returning to for the food alone.

I've been looking for a good bagel shop in Utah - I'VE FINALLY FOUND IT!!! You must try this place! Their sandwiches were phenomenal and their cream cheese - wow. I tried the veggie, herb, and chive. I thought veggie would be my favorite, but chive is the way to go! Pro-tip: get the chive cream cheese on your sandwich. My wife got the Veggie Sandwich on a croissant (and she added bacon) she gave it a 8/10. I got the Turkey Avocado. I added tomato and bacon. I would give it a 10/10!!! It was the best bagel sandwich I've had in Utah. The bagels are so dense and light at the same time. I loved them! The staff was so nice and took all of our crazy order customizations. You should try this place!

Went here in search of some decent bagels in Utah as an East Coaster. The owner is so friendly and talked to me about the east coast. The bagels are SO good and fresh. Lots of sandwich options to choose from and I've been here multiple times. I've tried some other bagel shops in slc but I live in the valley so this is the best there is around! Highly recommend.

Randomly ended up here as we tried to go to Rich's Bagels first but the place was absolutely packed and it look like it was going to take forever. So we headed over here and so glad we did, we ordered a number one which is a bacon egg and cheese Bagel sandwich on a jalapeño cheese bagel. Also ordered a tall latte for a very reasonable five dollar price point. The bagel was so delicious! We both really enjoyed the sandwich, it was cooked perfectly just the right portion size. We also enjoyed the vanilla latte they have a really nice coffee maker there and a barista dedicated to making customers coffee. That was a nice touch! Service was friendly and fast obviously this is a family run business and they like to keep their customers happy. Noticed a number of people that were regulars that came in and were acknowledged by the owners and staff. The ambience is a basic bagel place with maybe seven or eight four top tables for people to hang out and enjoy their treats. They also have a pretty good selection of smoothies that looked really good, I saw a woman walking out with four of them and they looked amazing, will have to try these next time we're around. I'm pretty particular about my bagels, but this place hit all the marks hope they continue to thrive.

A great bagel shop in the valley! Bagels were on the smaller side but they were so soft. I got the jalapeño cheddar and it was delicious. I did the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich with added jalapeño cream cheese. It was very creamy with the cream cheese but not overpowering. Very impressed and will definitely be back. Wanted to support a local business. When I realized that my turkey sandwich only had one piece of turkey I was told only one price of protein per sandwich . I needed to order double if I wanted more. Should have gotten a sandwich at Smiths. Would have been better with better customer service.

Husband and I tried this place 3+ times and it doesn't disappoint! One of our favorite bagel shops is in Fremont,Ca called daily bagel! And Ryan's bagels are really good! We've tried several different breakfast sandwiches and loved them. I do like adding cream cheese to my breakfast sandwich so I definitely recommend that! Way better the Einstein bagels and worth the price!

The New Yorker onion bagel, and a belly buster meat sandwich

I ordered from this place several times through UberEats. I ordered one Sunday morning the New Yorker, which is lox on a bagel. Onions on the bagel were like charcoal. Carcinogenic. It tasted like charcoal. The "Belly Buster" was supposed to be loaded with meat. It had two thin slices, no bean sprouts. Both sandwiches were terrible. I reached out to the store to have them fix the problem and never received a reply. I would not recommend this place, and I was trying to support local businesses. Einstein's has never failed. See for yourself. The first photo is what I received. The second photo is the "Belly Buster" from their website. This is what they advertise as the Belly Buster. Don't take my word for it, judge for yourself. Bad experience? Well, on both sandwiches. Previously had ordered the lox and bagel. Pretty hard to screw up unless you charcoal the onions

This place is fantastic. The bagels are delicious- I got a New Yorker on an everything bagel. The bagels are chewy yet crunchy and the toppings fresh and well proportioned. We also tried the strawberry croissant which was also great: not too sweet but buttery, not a hint of dryness. Perfect filling to croissant ratio. The husband and wife owners have their service on lock down. The place was busy yet they handled everyone quickly and efficiently and so kind to everyone that came in. This is a new fave of mine that I probably will come to at least monthly. read more

Wonderful bagels and wonderful bagel sandwiches. Great and friendly staff and a super neighborhood vibe that makes you feel at home and welcome. The Mexican Fiesta bagel sandwich and a cup of hot coffee is a great start to the morning before heading up to ski, hike, climb or anything since it is in such a great central location. read more

Really good bagels, sandwiches and coffee. Run by one person so sometimes you gotta wait a bit if there's a line. But she is fast and it's not too bad. Soda machine has been out of Dr. Pepper the last 3 times I've been in. Definitely not a fancy joint and things like eggs are cooked in microwaves, but the food is tasty and the bagels are fresh. Good bagels are hard to find in the Salt Lake Valley but this place does the job. read more

We stopped here on our way back to Las Vegas and OMG I am so happy we did! Most of the time while out of town we are disappointed by the food or service while eating out. Mostly because vegas has such great food it's hard to beat. Ryan's bagel cafe is amazing. My kids devoured everything including the bagel chips she gave us!!! We loved everything so much, I'm sad it's not in vegas haha!!! I got the New York style on an everything bagel!!!! Must try for sure!!!!! read more

The owners, Julie and Gary are so sweet! ALL of their food is delicious, and fresh. My husband and I love everything we have tried including, bacon breakfast burrito, breakfast sandwiches, the Italian, and the turkey bacon avocado on croissant. The everything bagel is our go to, but all are amazing. The green tea smoothie/shake is refreshing as well! We recomend and tell all of our friends and family how good Ryan's Bagel Cafe is. Service sucks. We waited in there for 10 min with one guy ahead of us. The guy behind the counter looked at us and said he'd be with us in just a minute. I am obsessed with this place and we stop by several times per week. The bagels are the closest I've found in Utah to the famous NYC bagels ... are fresh, chewy and soft on the inside. The cinnamon/sugar bagels have a gorgeous crunchy, sugary shell and the cream cheese is perfectly flavored and oh-so-fluffy! The staff is very friendly and the decor is a little dated, but everything is sparkling clean. They do run out of flavors, so go early if you want a good selection. Love it! read more

Always always always love going to this cafe. The owner is the nicest lady and she always gets to know you a little more every time you come in. There is a vast menu but the sunset breakfast sandwich is so good. Try the drinks too! The Vietnamese coffee is a great pick me up. The owner works hard everyday and the food and drinks are the best! Great little spot in sandy to get breakfast or lunch with coffee or juice. Really high quality food and excellent service. I've eaten here several times and it's consistently delicious. I'm currently enjoying a nice lunch out on the patio dining area, feeling bad for all the people getting drive through fast food across the parking lot. Meanwhile I enjoy my fresh bagel sandwich and drink in great weather. Dining room inside is open as well and the door is chalked open. read more

Husband found this on the way to Smith's- what a great find. We LOVE fresh bagels and Ryan's can deliver. Good variety in their menu for other items as well. Everything we had was yummy- chai latte, blueberry bagel with homemade strawberry cream cheese, and cinnamon sugar bagel with honey nut cream cheese. We will definitely be going back! read more

Being from the east coast, we crave a good bagel from time to time. While some bagel shops are closed during this pandemic, Ryan's Bagel Cafe came up on google and we were so glad they were open. We got two bagel sandwiches and found them to be perfectly toasted and ingredients perfectly proportioned, such that you didn't get to the end of your sandwich with too much left over bagel or with too much filling and no bagel to hold on to it with. We also appreciated the way they wrap the sandwiches (wrap in paper, cut in half, wrap in one sheet) since it makes it easy to enjoy and share! It's a mom and pop shop and clearly the owners are dedicated to their customer base and good customer service as they greeted other patrons by name and gave introductions like they were all family. Recommendation to the owners, get a big sign to let people know the hours that you're open during this pandemic. While we ate our lunch in the parking lot, I wanted to yell to everyone going to Arby's to go to Ryan's Bagel Cafe instead. We will definitely be going back. read more

Beyond the food, definitely check out their awesome inventory too -- the shelves are full of unique, high-quality imports, snacks, and specialty goods you won't find just anywhere.
