Crab cakes, very buttery. Better with lemon

Christopher, Where the heck does this host happen to wait? It isn't at his station. I've never been so disappointed by a lackluster performance from a person pretending to be a host. Where do you hire these employees from? He clearly has never worked at any other Ruth Chris. We saw the Cirque Alice show in the el dorado showroom and got out by about 8:30, did the meet and greet and dropped our friend off around 9:00pm and then walk into to Ruth Chris Reno around 9:05. No one was there. We asked the bartender if the kitchen was still open? He said of course, and that we should wait for the host. Which we did for another 10 minutes. By the time Christopher came out he did not regret to inform us that the restaurant had no more seating. It's like he played some stupid game in order to not have to work anymore tonight. For damn sure I'll be following up with management tomorrow.. But in the meantime, you advertise staying open till 10:00pm but stop seating people at 9:15? Or I. This case 9:05 pm because your host runs into the back and probably pleases himself. I mean he's no where to be found. Look at the video surveillance after 9:00pm; you won't see him where he's suppose to be. I miss out on my steak from there the first time I can remember.

My favorite restaurant in Reno !! The staff is great, the food is great! Get the porterhouse for 2 with the truffle crust. We just love it!!!'

Ruth's Chris is a first class steakhouse. If you can afford it it's worth it. Just remember it comes with nothing but the steak so you need to order sides. Plan on spending a $100. per person.

Imagine this Yelpies The one place where you can enjoy first class food and service all in one. Yes this does exist. But in order for you to understand what I mean you will have to step on in here. Don't worry if the tables are full because there might be a seat at the bar with your name on it. Pull up a chair and enjoy

We ate at Ruth Chris prior to going to a show at the silver legacy. The restaurant itself was very nice. It has a main dining room as well as a bar and lounge area. The service was very good and attentive. Our servers made sure our waters and drinks were topped off. Our positive experience ended there. My wife got the $60 3 course meal where she started with a Caesar salad. The salad was underdressed and lacked any flavor. For her entree she went with the filet and shrimp with the loaded mashed potatoes. The filet was cooked nicely to her request medium rare. The mashed potatoes were not edible. The amount of butter, cheese and sour cream was extremely excessive. The cheesecake dessert was good. I went with the 16 oz NY strip. It had good flavor but I requested medium rare and what I received was more like medium well. The baked potato was good but not $14 good. That seems to be the theme with this restaurant. It was an okay dinner but for a $240 bill there are so many better options. I would suggest passing on Ruth's for different dining options when in Reno.

Finally went to try Ruth's Chris on The Row. Now we cant figure out why we hadn't tried it sooner as it was fabulous. Beautiful decor and our waiter Sebastian was fabulous. Very attentive and checked in on us to keep our drinks filled and any other needs. We ordered from the "3 Courses for $60". For first course I had the French onion soup and it was amazing. Not overly rich with great onion flavor and a nice cheesy topping. My date had the Caesar salad and said it was very good. For entree we both had the filet mignon with shrimp. The filet was cooked exactly to my liking of medium rare. Velvety and buttery texture perfection. For sides we had the creamed spinach and roasted Brussel Sprouts. Both were well prepared. The creamed spinach was so good I used a little bit on my filet and it was delicious. The entire dining experience was excellent and Sebastian even gave me an extra serving of the bread to take home as he saw I liked it so much. We are looking forward to a return visit. I highly recommend as we found the prices to be quite reasonable for a high end steak house.

Pretty good. We walked in at a busy time and sat at the bar. Will definitely return. Had the 3 course $60 meal with several upgrades and it was great! I saw the steak that most people get with the deal and was very happy I upgraded to the 8 oz filet and added a little lobster tail and some shrimp for my wife . Salad was great too. When they brought the check we had to remind the servers we should get a dessert with the deal. The only thing I really didn't like was that I asked for a glass of wine (Faust cabernet) and the bartender upgraded that to a $40 large glass of wine without telling me (the online menu doesn't list large/small sizes but only one price for a glass). If I wanted a $40+ glass of wine I would have ordered Caymus!

I love Ruth Chris's special they have. 3 for 60.00. We were going to a concert and we decided on Ruth Chris. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Our server Jack was fantastic. We will ask for him again. I would put it in the epic category for steaks. Inside silver legacy easy to get to. Just have Valet park your car. A friend ordered just sides and was totally satisfied with it piece of meat. I love that you can do just sides. We were able to have our own checks which makes it easier to figure the bill when there were a few of us. So that was nice!!! Overall I love Ruth Chris. I actually think of it quite often. Might have to go for an early anniversary dinner there before their 3 for 60.00 ends!

Went here when visiting UNR. Somewhat pricey and we had to wait a bit for our server to return at times. Decent sides and steaks though. Desserts were good.

Pro's: Everything...excellent food, ambiance and service. Con's: I can't eat here every day. Go back?: Regularly More... I have reviewed Ruth's before and will always likely give it 5 stars. Specifically for this review, I wanted to call out their "Port of Manhattan" cocktail. It was Manhattan but with Fonseca aged port, instead of sweet vermouth. It was something a little different and a delicious surprise. Our servers were excellent and it was nice of Michael, the manager, to stop by and say hello. Excellent evening, as usual, at my favorite Ruth's Chris.

This is the perfect date night splurge meal. My boyfriend and I both got the 3 for $60. This includes Salad, side, & entree, & dessert. The thing I love about Ruth's Chris is the small things it does to be over the top. Extra cheese guaranteed with the Caesar salad. Steaks are always buttery perfection. (Never over cooked & I've been here many times). Nothing is lacking cream, seasoning or flavor. With that being said this is not a restaurant you should not try to eat healthy at or think about calories. I say this in the best possible way. (I'm sure there's healthy options but why ruin a good thing lol)

Wow--what a great first experience at this restaurant! I ordered the Ribeye with an added Lobster Tail, and I'm so glad I did. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection, juicy, tender, and full of flavor, though just a touch on the salty side. The Lobster Tail was also excellent, perfectly cooked, juicy, and not overdone, which can be rare. The staff here were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and they made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. If you're in the area and looking for a quality steakhouse, I definitely recommend giving this place a try. Great food and great service!

Petite Filet with Au Gratin Potatoes and Asparagus

We had a wonderful experience here on Mother's Day! We made a reservation a few weeks in advance online and had many options to choose from. Upon arriving we had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress and staff were outstanding. Our waitress, Shaw, is a gem and she had a very vibrant personality and was very good at anticipating the table's needs. The entrees took longer than usual to come. The manager, Michael, was very apologetic and comped our appetizer due to the wait - he came over to our table on his own without us requesting him or complaining. They were very aware of the situation/wait times at each table. We started with the crab cakes - one order comes with two. They were tasty. All four of us ordered filets and we split the following sides: au gratin potatoes, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus. It was enough for 4 people. My filet came undercooked and our waitress took it back without hesitation. They were prompt and my meal ended up being delicious. They comped our dessert for the inconvenience which was very kind. By the time we got to dessert, we couldn't pick just one so we ordered the chocolate sin cake x2, bread pudding, and famous creme brûlée. The bread pudding was by far my favorite - I can't explain it other than it's perfectly flavored with a great texture (not mushy/soggy). All desserts were great! We loved our experience here and will be back. I would love to have Shaw as our waitress again!

Ask the Community - Ruth's Chris Steak House

Is the bar doing happy hour from 4:30-6:30pm again?

Is this restaurant too fancy for a baby?

It's fancy and upscale, but not too much for a baby. I used to take my babies, but I was always aware of their behavior and without being asked, willing to leave if need be. The food and service is fantastic--not much better place to learn to how to…

Due to covid, are they accepting outside wine or champagne and charging corkage fee?

Yes. The corkage fee is a reasonable $15.

Do you need to dress up, like wear dress slacks, long sleave shirt, sports coat and leather shoes? Or would jeans and a t-shirt be acceptable?

I didn't see a dress code. As long as your not naked should be fine.

We did a combo of the happy hour menu plus some other small plates between the two of us. Happy hour has some great things on it and good deals on wine and beer for sure. We shared meatballs, a caesar salad, the beet salad and a pepperoni pizza. I also got the special appetizer that was sardine with a salmon pate. It was really too much but I am glad I tried it, so unique. I took the salmon pate home and had it on toast the next day. I have to say the pizza was probably my least favorite, but it was generous with good pepperoni. Really love this place and look forward to coming back again soon.

On Mondays, the margarita are $8 each or if you order a margherita pizza, you can get a margarita for free. The food is delicious! And good portions as well. I like the patio on a nice day but when it's too hot or cold the back area is nice to be seated at. This location does tend to get busy and you can put in reservations. I've been excited to start making my rounds in the Reno/Tahoe/Truckee areas and let me tell you, I started off strong! I was able to book a reservation when I Googled the tasting room. I wasn't sure I needed one so I made just to be on the safe side. Our reservation was on Saturday before Memorial day weekend so I wasn't sure how busy it would be. Our reservation was for 4:30 and we would would been okay without one. I booked a window view which gives you a nice view facing 4th street and beyond. There are so many seating options and you can't tell from the outside but there's definitely plenty of room! It looked like they have some outdoor seating as well! All three of us ordered a tasting flight and eat all shared a charcuterie board and a lobster roll. My flight was the Pinot Noir and I was very impressed! Each one was better than the last! The charcuterie board was amazing and something I'd definitely order again. The filling of the lobster roll was good but I wasn't a fan of the bread. Our server was prompt, personable, and so sweet, we enjoyed her very much! I love the different seating options and that you can look around at all the wines they have within the building. Our first experience was wonderful and I can't wait to return to try more flights and menu items. I feel this is such a nice place to celebrate, relax or enjoy a date night. Things to note: Reservations recommended in the afternoons on weekends. Kitchen doesn't open until 4:00
