I hadn't been to one of these restaurants in a long time, but I will say it was the best darn steak I have had in forever. 3/$60 allows you to select an appetizer, main with a side, and comes with a dessert. It was so much food I had to take half of my meal home! I had the Caesar salad, petite filet with shrimp, and mashed potatoes. Dessert was carrot cake with ice cream (THAT did not survive!). I gave it three years before writing another review of this location. Once again, I was really disappointed with my experience at this steakhouse. The quality simply didn't match the price point. What's most frustrating is that I came in expecting a great meal, but nothing lived up to the reputation or the cost. I hope the restaurant takes steps to improve both the food and service, because right now it falls far short of expectations. This was easily one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a long time. The steak--at a steakhouse, no less--was dry, flavorless, and cooked completely wrong. I loved the decor and the friendly welcome. This was a night out to celebrate the anniversary of our first date. Date-i-versary! Efforts were made to recognize our special night. (Congratulations and petals on the table.) It took 30 minutes to get cocktails. In a relatively empty restaurant, this was a little confounding. The food was tasty. It took quite awhile to arrive. When checking if our table was finally ready, we were told 'some servers didn't show up today'. The manager was telling the hosts to clean and wipe down the menus while they tried to seat guests. When our table was finally ready (with only about 1/4 of the restaurant being full) we were told they didn't have any high chairs for the children. The manager (a blonde woman with a bad ponytail who seemed to be cosplaying another race) stood there and did nothing. When we finally were seated, two different servers greeted our table thinking we were their guests. With better management this place could potentially thrive; however, it's clear this location hires lackluster, mediocre management with MUCH to be desired. read more

Came for Thanksgiving lunch and wow - amazing food and service! I have been to other Ruth's Chris' before but not this one and had a great time! We parked for free across the street in Little Italy but they do have $10 valet parking. We came with a reservation and were seated right away. We did the prix fixe menu for the holiday - which came with an appetizer choice, turkey, side choice, and dessert, all for $50. I thought everything was delicious and a pretty good deal for the quality and amount. Our favorite side was the sweet potato but we also loved the pumpkin cheesecake dessert! They had a big menu of other delicious looking steaks and entrees. Only knocking a star off because we had to wait a little while for drinks to be refilled and - after not ordering wine - our glasses were not taken away, and left on the table. I even asked if he had any recommendations for the specials and he blatantly and flatly responded " I don't know what you like" .... Ouch... pretty rude in my opinion. I wanted to leave but decided to stick it out since we had already paid for parking. I ordered the grilled Chicken Ceasar salad , it was mediocre at best, very mayo based and bland. Typically at fine dining restaurants the Ceasar dressing is usually made in house or at least higher quality.... sadly, this was neither. I only ate it because I was hungry. Once the bartender warmed up to us, he became more friendly ( which is why I'm being kind and giving 2 stars) ... but this shouldn't be the case. This was the worst dining experience of my life. First, a server dropped a burning hot plate on us, leaving one of us with burns and oil splashed across the table. Management barely reacted... cold, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Then, while eating my entrée, I choked on a piece of steak and nearly died at the table. Recently did a weekend trip to Baltimore, Md. and made a last minute reservation to Ruth's Chris steakhouse after a day exploring the city. From start to finish our experience was amazing. The restaurant was very clean, well lit and had friendly waiters. Our waitress was particularly great! She had so many recommendations that we ended up getting and we were so glad we did!! Our food was absolutely amazing. We did spicy salmon with shrimp that was seasoned well, 8oz filet, cooked medium well! It was perfect, asparagus w/ Hollandaise, roasted Brussels (our waitress recommended) and au gratin potatoes (10 out of 10) food came out relatively quick and everything was very good!! We love this location and usually have great food and service. However this evening was completely different due to our server, Neil. He treated us as if we were in the wrong place. His interactions with us was so minimal we had to ask for his name. He offered my fiancé Hennessy as if he was judging us by our skin color. He took my fiancé's menu before asking us what we would like to eat. We had to flag him down to order our food. He damn near threw the check at us and didn't even thank us for coming. We have been to Ruth's Chris Steak House plenty of times in different locations. This is our first time here in Pier 5, and since my sister's family came to visit we wanted to let them try the good food and have a nice experience we used to have so we booked the table here. When we arrived, the table was ready and we didn't have to wait at all. Our server is a young petite lady, she greeted us briefly while walking away right before we sat down. Once we were about to sit down, my sister noticed one side of the seat couch had food all over, we assumed it was definitely from previous table and the server didn't clean it properly. We had to ask different server to help clean it up because we couldn't find our server anywhere. After the appetizer was served we still were missing one whole set of plate knife & fork and 2 cloth napkins. We had to ask another server for those because ,again, we couldn't find our server. Most of the food came out differently from how we had asked for and had to be sent back to recook. I was a bit uncomfortable when her napkin touched part of the food in the plate when she was carrying it back to recook. Also the food was served in a very small plate which makes it very hard to eat. Our server never refills our water even after we had finished the whole glass and we had to ask for refill ourselves. Overall, our experience from the food, service and attention we received was so awful I felt bad I took my family there. This was not something we would expect from a high end restaurant where we had to pay over $150 for a plate of steak. I wish I had read the review before going there otherwise we would have not gone there in the first place. The service definitely needs to be improved in order to get more customers. I now had no doubt why I could get a reservation last minute so easily. At this point we wouldn't go back there again. Came here tonight for my birthday dinner and couldn't of been more disappointed. The party sat behind us reeked of marijuana and the larger group in our section also did. We noticed the manager trying to distract from the smell with a hot plate of butter but it did not help. I understand it's a simple mistake but one of our orders wasn't put in, so we had to wait a bit longer. Also, our porterhouse was a burnt on the outside and just tasted like burnt meat. My espresso martini was spilt and half foam. The smell from everything made me nauseous and was just super underwhelming compared to our previous visits. Won't be back to this location for awhile. I went there for dinner before the Iron Maiden concert and was pleased that happy hour started right at 4pm when they open for dinner! The drink prices for HH were good with $4 domestics and $8,9 mixed drinks, etc! I sat and dined at the bar since I was in a bit of a hurry. Service was fast and attentive. I had the bone in ribeye and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare just like I requested and well seasoned with some butter on top. It came on a very hot plate so be careful and don't touch it. I let it sit and cool down a bit! I just wished it came with some bread and a side but next time I go I will get one of their classic combos which comes with a New York Strip steak with a potato and desert! We were greeted by our amazing server, Ms. Martinez right away. she did her whole spiel of the story behind Ruth Chris and how they work. my sister-in-law ordered a bottle of Fiji water. It took about 25 minutes to get the bottle of water that they had to "chill." While waiting the rest of the "Party" of the round table start straggling in some were dress very inappropriate (Not business casual at all) they should have stopped than, they were running from the bar to the table. Cussing, yelling at the server. Jumping tables, their son was running around screaming. They shared the same server as we did along with 2 other tables Ms. Martinez had. Then she came back to get our order and gave us the "Chilled" FIji water. Our appetizer came out about 20 minutes after ordering, and the rest of our food came out an 1hour and 20 mins after ordering. I could see our server had some intense emotional flooding that she was forced to deal with because lack of Empathy from her "manager" and want to burst out into tears but she's held it together very well. The party was absurd! While all of this is taking place the manager stood behind the hostess stand with the hostess looking in our direction majority of the night. Not one time did she come to any other the tables updating us on why there's a delay. No compensation (we didn't expect it) Not a sorry, not evening a good night, also to add, I didn't see the manager "Linda" lift a finger until the party started complaining and she was made to go to the table to talk to them because they requested her. This location DOES NOT HONOR PRICES LISTED ON THEIR MENU!!! This was our second visit to this location. It was a pretty slow Tuesday evening. Our server seemed a little inexperienced, but he was very nice. We noticed it was taking a while to get drinks. Perhaps the bar was a little backed up and we just couldn't see from the dining room. At one point, the manager came to our table and asked how things were. We said it was good so far, but we were still waiting for our wine. Anyway, our dinner comes, and we still don't have our wine. Only after we completely finish eating dinner does our wine come. Not ideal. The worst part of the evening came when we got our check. The menu lists 2 4-5oz lobster tails for $49, which we ordered as a side to our steak. When the bill comes, we see that we were charged double for that and point out the mistake. After leaving for a bit, our server comes back and tells us that he spoke to the manager and the doubled price is correct. What? The manager then comes over and talks to us to tell us that their menu has changed, but they just haven't updated it. It is now $49 PER lobster tail. We explain that we did not know that given that is not what is listed on their menu and may have ordered differently. We asked if she would honor the listed price. She said no. Her justification was that the lobster we received were bigger than 4-5 oz. She was not even the LEAST bit apologetic for the misunderstanding, and conveyed the sense that WE were in the wrong. I mean, we order something only for you to tell us after the fact that you're going to charge us double? It was absolutely outrageous. (Side note: my lobster was a little overcooked and tough, but I didn't feel like it was something to make a fuss over). Charging DOUBLE THE PRICE for something listed on the menu and saying "we just haven't updated our menu yet" is so ridiculous. This "incorrect" price is also what is listed on their online menu the following day. If something on your menu is incorrect, you have an obligation to either note that on the menu or have servers make guests aware. Our server was not aware of this and was equally confused, and he was MUCH more apologetic than the manager. This location is clearly under poor management that cannot adequately update their menus or inform their staff of important changes. If she could have even apologized or acknowledged that this was misleading, that would have been nice. But no, she was like we've changed it and what we charged you is correct even though you had no idea about it, too bad. It made for a bitter end to our anniversary dinner. Also, if you come by a table and they let you know they're still waiting on 2 glasses of wine, maybe help your staff out and pour a couple glasses if they're busy (although again, it was a Tuesday and seemed slow). We came here for my niece's birthday celebration. When I arrived I thought I would valet but unfortunately it was full. So had to park on the lot next to the water, parking was a little pricey. Most of them said their food was on the mediocre side, they mostly complained that their steak was rare when it was requested for it to be medium well, the food was not hot, and some of the adult beverages lacked alcohol. It was about 6-7 of us just to give you an idea. As for me I had a different experience, I ordered the filet and shrimp, Caesar salad, lobster Mac and cheese, and bread pudding. Oh and I ordered a vodka tonic. Our waiter Craig was a sweetheart, I made sure I introduced myself since I know I usually need extra condiments and I didn't want to flag him down with my hand, I prefer to call my waiter by name. But anyway my salad was great, just the right amount of dressing, my vodka tonic was sooooo good, it was made with chilled orange grey goose. I didn't even request the orange goose. I requested for my steak to be well done, when it arrived it was a little too pink for me. So they cooked it over and it was better. My lobster mac came out pipping hot as well! The cheese was nice and gooey. Yummy. Once we were done Craig and the other waiters came out to box and bag our leftovers. Since it was my niece's birthday he gave everyone complimentary bread pudding. It was pretty good, the next day it was even better. When I go to a nice steakhouse, I expect to have an above average experience. Especially when paying a $700 tab. I have never been more disappointed. A couple friends and I went for a friend's birthday tonight and I really wish we could choose our tip because our server Marlon did not deserve the $100. The dining area of the restaurant wasn't very busy, but the time that we spent waiting for everything from our food (45 mins from the time we ordered), bread and butter, condiments for our meals, drinks from the bar, water...made it seem like the place was packed. It is located in the inner harbor, so sometimes you'll get walk-ins that aren't dressed as some places would require. Medium Cowboys ribeye, best steak in steakhouse history, always perfect . Along with the sweet potatoes casserole, the #1 side in restaurant history is unstoppable. Ruth Chris also makes the best Long Island ice tea . Pros: - The cocktails are nice and strong. - The host and our server was friendly. Cons: - The soda is watered down and flat. - 2 of our steaks were overcooked and we ended up not finishing them. Our family dined at Ruth's for Easter, seated in a side private room to ourselves. Parking was tough, we ended up a few blocks away, resulting in a nice long walk. Once we arrived, the staff were pretty friendly-with quick service on bringing waters, drinks, and collecting our orders. I really dislike everything being al-a-carte; at their prices something could be included with your steak. The sides were nothing special; my broccoli was luke warm, at best-and the creamy three cheese potatoes tasted like a big pot of them was made early in the morning and they've been scooping through them all day. The desserts (banana cream pie & bread pudding) were delicious, and were really the redeeming factor of eating here. Was shocked to get last minute seating the wknd of Valentine's Day. We were able to walk over from our hotel (1840s Carrollton Inn). Hostess was sweet, waiter was efficient. The meal was delicious. Enjoyed the petit ribeye with blue cheese crust, partner had the cowbeye ribeye which he loved. Had appetizers of the new orleans shrimp, the crab beignets (wouldnt get again), and partner had the sweet n spicy shrimp. On par with other locations I've been too (consistency is key!). We sat in a booth at the bar on a Thursday night(with reservations), took 20 minutes to be acknowledged by a waiter. When he finally approached the table he was clearly in a bad mood and didn't want to be at work. I asked if a wine and steak happy hour deal could be substituted from wine to a dessert of comparable price and he seemed irritated and didn't check. There were dirty napkins left next to my head by a Christmas tree display. The food took 45 minutes to arrive and we were on a time crunch for a concert. I ordered a medium filet mignon and it came out well done. My husband asked for drink refills 3 times and only got 2 drinks the entire 2 hours we sat there. We are extremely disappointed with our experience. The manager checked in with every table, but ours . We have always gone to Ruth's Chris for special occasions. We will not be going back. read more

ust got back from what was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. Arrived at 6:15 and left after 9:00. It was Mother's day and a birthday so we were celebrating two moms and a birthday. At the outset, the hostess was rude and spoke so quietly that we couldn't hear a word she said (although had no problem speaking legibly to her coworkers). Table mate got nailed by a tray in the head twice while sitting in the dining room after they forgot to take his drink order. When we finally did order, it took 1.5 hours for food to come. We quickly realized that 7 of 7 steaks were cooked incorrectly. Everybody that ordered medium rare were extremely well done, the rare was black and blue almost raw. Sides were cold. Broccoli was just steamed with no salt, no pepper, no garlic, nothing. Tragic. Terrible beer selection. ITS A STEAKHOUSE!! The remake of all of our steaks took almost 30 minutes and even then we didn't get the all the sides we ordered. We finally had enough and just asked to leave. Decided to forgo the desserts we had already ordered. Turns out, several table around us had similar experiences. Although the server was apologetic, we had zero water or bread refills while we were waiting for our food. 1.5 hours.... and were checked on maybe once. Absolutely abysmal. When we did get bread about 15 minutes after ordering drinks, it was a collection of cold heels with one small butter for 7 people. I've worked front and back of house for decades...I know that Mother's day is a sh*@t show for a restaurant. This does not excuse that the manager didn't even come over and apologize for the glaring errors and instead put that burden on the server. They comped our bill but we didn't really eat anything besides cold sides and a few bites of our steaks as we were so tired of being in a loud restaurant with zero attention paid to us. The server tried her best and we tipped her based on what the bill should have been. But come on, it was like she was on autopilot with her schtick and the oversight was testiment to her having worked a long double. I get that and I'm sympathetic. Maybe don't pull two shifts on a mother's day. That's enough to flatten anybody. I guess, don't go on holidays because they are easily overwhelmed (even though they were nowhere near capacity). It's now after 10, the drive home took an hour and I'm going to bed hungry. Never again. read more

Omg! You have to visit this restaurant! Dan our waiter is a 10! Drinks fabulous - had a mojito and spicy peach margarita minus the spicy, sooo yummy! We had the shrimp cocktail perfectly chilled with slight spice to the sauce. Steaks perfectly grilled and seasoned and super hot (heat lol). Can't say enough great things about this restaurant!
