I'd say this place is pretty nice, it's right on the water and is beautiful at night with the city lights. The ambiance of the dim lighting and the pianist makes it perfect for date night. I've been going to the Rusty Scupper for years on and off. In the past, the food was always delicious and I was willing to pay extra for exceptional food. My recent visit was during happy hour and my friend and I wanted an appetizer but no one came to take our order. Every time we tried to flag a server, they ignored us. Finally, we asked a waiter who worked in the dining room if he can serve us and he was nice enough to let the happy hour bartenders come over. After happy hour, my friend and I decided to eat dinner. I ordered the crab cakes. It was a lot saltier than in the past. I could not even eat it all and had to take it home. I will give the Rusty Scupper one more try and we have brunch reservations for Mother's Day. read more

We had reservations for 5 PM on a Sunday and requested a window table for four and were seated immediately. A nice view of the Harbor and Aquarium. Since we had tapas at 2 PM I was not too hungry so I ordered a six oyster assortment, soft shell crab appetizer and calamari for my grand daughter. The oysters were excellent and left me wishing for a dozen! The crab while tasty but had more shell than I preferred. We normally have them in Japanese restaurants! The calamari was tasty and tender and the bread and butter were enjoyed by my grand daughter who ate till full. My brother had the Seafood Linguine Al Diabla...which I have had previously and LOVED! He commented on the large quantity of seafood! Wished I had a bigger appetite! My sister-in-law who normally does not eat seafood enjoyed her cod dish! Excellent local IPA draft and a Grey Goose Martini rounded out the menu! We will come here whenever we are visiting the Inner Harbor. Service was excellent. Management provided a free shuttle for my brother to retrieve his car near the ball park and avoid the rain. Seems there offer this shuttle service when there are baseball or football games! Nice view, polite although somewhat slow service, good food. The ciabatta with spicy tomato dipping sauce was terrific. The salmon was good but I ordered it simply grilled and it came with a beurre blanc that I had not wanted. Of course I could have sent it back but I didn't want to wait again since it was a bit slow the first time. (The table next to mine was served first despite arriving at least five minutes after me.) The vegetable medley of green beans and carrots was fresh and crisp but had an over salted butter sauce. When the server finally came back around, I told him I would have preferred the salmon simply grilled as described on the menu without beurre blanc sauce, said "that's good to know." If you are in downtown on Business this is a good place to go. The atmosphere and view is great. The food is average and stay away from the "Po Boys". Stick with Crab Cakes and Fresh Fish and you will be satisfied but not blown away. read more

We arrived around 5:30 with reservations, so no long wait. Food was delicious! My husband ordered the Salmon with succotash and I ordered the lemon butter salmon with mashed potatoes and kale. My son ordered the popcorn shrimp. We also ordered the crab dip appetizer and the calamari. Everything was amazing. The drinks weren't strong though so I would pass on that. My friend invited a few colleagues and I to her birthday brunch at the Rusty Scupper; I'd heard great things about their brunch so of course I had to check it out. She reserved the third floor for us due to the size of her party. When we arrived the host staff directed us to our section where we met the other ladies, however we soon discovered the the buffet was on the second floor. Once we found our party, we then went back downstairs to the buffet; the buffet was organized in a decent fashion and it wasn't super overwhelmed with people even though the entire restaurant looked like they were booked to capacity. Once we were back in our section, we were advised that we had endless bellini's and mimosa's, I ordered the bellini; it was made to perfection. Ambiance Nothing says Brunch like smooth jazz that sounds more like elevator music, meaning the music wasn't too loud and overbearing where you couldn't hear the people that you were eating with. The fact that they had a live jazz band was a nice touch to a relaxing afternoon brunch to catch up with friends. Customer Service If you've ever read any of my previous reviews, you'll know that Im huge on customer service and the Rusty Scupper didn't disappoint . In our section, we had our own personal bartender and waiter to tended to our every need he kind courteous and attentive to all 20 of us. Overall, I recommend this restaurant for brunch. Seeing as though I visited for brunch and I drank bellini's instead of my signature drink (The Cosmopolitan), I'll have to visit again to check out the skills of the mixologist on staff. My BF took me to dinner here this weekend on our anniversary trip. The service was very attentive and even gave us some complimentary champagne for our anniversary. We spilt oysters and a crab cake for an appetizer - the oysters were lacking in flavor compared to others we have had recently but the crab cake was amazing! Came here with family from out of town and we all enjoyed the food, service and view. We first thought that the restaurant must be expensive because it's located in Inner Harbor and probably a tourist trap...but when we saw the menu, everything seemed reasonably priced. We walked in and was greeted by a nice spiraled staircase leading to awesome views around. If you hate stairs, no worries...I think there is an elevator. Awesome first impression of service because we were immediately seated and given menus. I ordered the crab dip to share and crab cake sandwich as my entree. The dip was loaded with cheese, crab meat and deliciousness. I was a bit full from the crab dip that I only had the crab cake and some fries. Good stuff. The view is spectacular. I think this is a nice 'occasion' restaurant or a nice place to entertain out-of-town guests if you don't mind a big bill. Since moving to the area years ago I've been here three times, but each time I say the same thing - that this will be my last time. It is by far the nicest view in Baltimore, killer views of the harbour, the fact there is parking out front is perfection, and the service is always great. However, the food is ridiculously priced for what you are getting. The last time I went, I had my heart set on fresh scallops and they were out. I ended up with mahi mahi which I always enjoy but it was bland, small and 3x what I would have paid at another restaurant. I know that they can charge a lot for their location, however,​ I wish they would step their game up with the food. My husband used to absolutely love the cream of crab soup, it's the only one he likes because it's not too thick and pastey, however,​ this time - it was thic​, and very bland. Not sure if they got a new chef, or just an off night. I think if you want a really nice seafood dinner, go elsewhere - you'll spend a lot less. We came here on a Sunday for brunch without reservations as a family of 5 (1 toddler + 1 infant) after a morning trip to the American Visionary Art Museum. Protip: avoid Encantada - their hours state they open at 11, but at 1130 they were still telling us they were not open and too busy prepping tables. Their buffet brunch was amazing - their oysters were creamy, super fresh and delicious. I ate too much prime rib for my own good. Upon a friend's suggestion my family and I went to the Baltimore location after a little league game. The menu is inspired by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The Chesapeake Bay dip was a little salty. My mom and husband devoured the fresh oysters. It was a split decision between my son and I on the coconut shrimp. My husband and mom split on the crab cakes. The seafood jambalaya was ok. I was slightly taken aback by the hostess- not very professional and she had no clue about what alfresco seating is. The food is over-priced relative to the taste. The only thing my family and l agree on is Tyler's customer service. He was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. It started out promising. The location is beautiful, the restaurant is lovely. Appetizers were pretty good. The oyster sampler was a hit, with six fresh oysters and two dipping sauces. The calamari had some pieces that were truly delicious, with a light, crunchy breading, but some of it was chewy beyond being edible. The soups were okay - nothing memorable, but okay. We sampled both the Cream of Crab soup and the soup of the day, which was a creamy seafood chowder. The chowder had chunks of shrimp, scallops, and fish, but was a little lacking in flavor. The cream of crab had some nice bites of crab, but the soup itself was overpowered with a seasoning I couldn't quite identify. Entrees is where we fell apart. A chopped salad arrived with brown, mushy avocado atop a bed of slimy, wilted lettuce. It appeared as though the salad had been dressed some time before it was delivered to the table with a boat load of dressing - it was swimming in the stuff. To be fair, they packed me a new salad to go - but because we weren't local, it was out of the fridge to long to be eaten later. The salmon BLT was okay. The bread was slightly soggy, and the salmon not quite as flavorful as we had hoped, but the sandwich was alright. Express lunch was a rainbow trout, which was overcooked and appeared slightly leathery, although the accompaniments were pretty good. Our fourth entree was so unimpressive, that I've just asked three people at the table what it was, and no one could remember it until we reviewed the whole rest of the meal. It was swordfish - completely forgettable. Service was a little slow, but our waiter was training someone, so we didn't let that dampen the experience. We left mostly unfulfilled, and for a $300 meal for a party of five, you never want to have to hit the diner on the way home. There are a lot of restaurants in the Inner Harbor area. We'll be looking into some of them on our next trip. read more

The service (Kelly) was excellent and the view really nice otherwise I would have given one star. It was downhill from there. My wife ordered the fish of the day, rockfish Maryland style. When it came out it not only looked unappetizing it was inedible. The fish tasted terrible, was overcooked and cold, the vegetables were also cold. We notified Kelly who apologized and provided a menu for another selection. My wife ordered the crab stuffed shrimp. She said the crab was good but the shrimp were very small and no taste. Most restaurants I have been to when food is sent back a manager comes by to apologize and try to make good, especially at restaurants at this level. Not here. I ordered the Filet Mignon with grilled shrimp. My steak was cooked correctly and was tender. Flavor was just ok. I have had much better filets at other restaurants at half the price. The mashed potatoes were cold and hard. The shrimp were tiny and flavorless. For what they charge for their food this should never happen. It was our first and last time there. read more
