I ordered the cedar planked salmon dish and my friends ordered the stuffed shrimp and crab cake entrees. My food was so good, I wish I'd have more. My salmon was moist and flavorful. It came with mix sautéed veggies, which were also well seasoned. One of my girlfriends that ordered the stuffed shrimp NEVER finishes her meals. This night, she cleaned her plate. The shrimp was stuffed with crabmeat, I believe, and it came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I think you can substitute sides though. I was highly impressed with the attentiveness of the waiter. He really made the night enjoyable. He was informative and funny. For dessert, I ordered the bread pudding to go. When our waiter brought out my to-go bag, I was shocked at how large my bag was. When I got home, I had to give this bread pudding a little taste. Well, I ended up eating it all! It was shaped like a huge muffin. It was moist and decadent. So rich but oh so good! I should've saved some for the next day but I was being a greedy ass. I will definitely get bread pudding when I go back. Maybe I can share it because it is very rich. This is by far the best restaurant in the Baltimore area. The Inner Harbor views are so beautiful. The food was amazing. We ordered everything our waitress Krissy suggested and loved everything. Starting with the cocktails, my wife had a Scupper sunset and I had a 1783 old fashion, later we had the expresso martinis, they were all strong but not too much and very tasty. For appetizers we had calamari and a crab cake both delicious. Our entrees were scallops Chesapeake ( blackened scallops with jumbo lump crab meat on top) with green beans and mashed potatoes, also chilean sea bass Maryland style ( with jumbo lump crab meat) with seasoned veggies, both entrees were absolutely scrumptious. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were very large. We finished with the warm butter cake and our waitress Krissy brought my wife a cheesecake for her birthday with a little candle to make our experience even more special. She was a fantastic server, sweet, friendly, knowledgeable and gave us great suggestions. We received the best service and great food. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was friendly and accommodating. The hostess did seem almost as if they were annoyed upon our initial arrival but I digress. The appetizers are very filling to the point where the other guests and I had to take our actual entrees to go. I throughly enjoyed the Asian inspired miso salmon it was by far my favorite dish! I also enjoyed the crab dip so much that I had to order it twice back to back. The crab fettuccine is excellent if you appreciate a tasty but not too overpowering wine sauce , you will also like the crab fettuccine. The dessert was delicious as well the cheese cake reminded me of a New York cheese cake homemade and fresh yet very tasty and powerful! My only wish would be for the restaurant to ensure seating closer to the water and more appealing table decor for special occasions such as birthdays and special events. My boyfriend and I have been here countless times for special occasion dinners since we moved to Baltimore and we have always had an amazing experience. The service was always nothing short of amazing. When Valentines day rolled around, it wasn't even a question that we would make reservations. We had an early reservation, so it wasn't too busy when we arrived. Immediately when we sat down, our server came over to ask for our drink and appetizer orders. We hadn't had any time at all to look over the menus, so we asked for some more time. She came back within 2 minutes expecting our drink, appetizer and entree orders all at once. We ordered, and shortly after our appetizer arrived. After we had taken a a bite or two of our appetizer, our entrees arrived. My the time we had finished our appetizer, our entrees were cold. As we were eating our entrees, the server had returned to take our desert order. We said that we would like to finish our food before we placed our dessert order, but she said the dessert may take a while so we placed the order. While we were still eating our entree, the server brought the check. We ended up being pushed out of the restaurant within 40 minutes of walking into the door. This felt much more like dining at Ihop rather than a nice restaurant. The menu prices have always been justified to us because of the experience of dining here, but Valentines day was a huge exception to that. Originally, we had chalked the treatment up to the restaurant being busy, however we noticed the server was chatting and taking her time with the tables next to us. I'm unsure if she presumed that because we were young we would not tip her as well as the tables next to us, but before Valentine's day we had never tipped less than 50% of our check here. It was rude, rushed, and definitely subpar than any service i've received at any restaurant, let alone a restaurant that prides itself on creating a great dining experience. The Maryland oysters were great. I can't ever tell the difference between the different oysters from varying regions that restaurants sometimes offer, but the ones we settled on were fresh and one of the best I've had, period. The crab dip was good, but not really memorable. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and the bf ordered a lobster roll. The lobster was tasty, but far from the best I've had. The crab cake sammy though, was perfect amazing. If anything, I would just think that the portion of it was a tad on the small side. The cocktails we ordered were pretty average, definitely not worth the price tag. I had the Lump Crab Fettuccine and it was very full of lump crab meat. My husbands salmon was cooked perfect. I also had the black bottom cheesecake which was okay, I though it would taste like a black bottom muffin, but it was a little drier like a dry brownie with cheesecake on top with a cherry glaze topping. Our party had a good time and the waiter and hostess was wonderful. Today I had the pleasure of having lunch at one of Baltimore's finish eating establishments the Rusty Scupper. There are so many great things to say about this restaurant so we'll start with the view which is absolutely breathtaking! We sat at a table overlooking the harbor as the boats passed by! Our server was a very personable young lady named Loren and she did a great job! Loren took our order then brought some hot fresh bread with butter and a special house sauce to the table; a few minutes later our lunch salmon BLT with sweet potato fries arrived, it was picture perfect and delicious! The restaurant was neat and clean and all of the staff including the owner were very nice! FYI: don't forget to get your parking ticket validated and the cost to park is only $9! Maryland soup - saltiest soup ever in my life! I expect the soup has crab as soup base, but instead they serve the veggie soup and sprinkle little bit of crab meats over the soup. You don't taste the crab in the soup. Scallop and sea bass - it seems the chef loves to fry or deep fry everything, making the dishes super oily and grease. Because it is so oily, you can't get the sweetness juicy feeling out of the scallop. Plus I don't think it is a good idea to serve scallop with Mayo sauce. read more

I'm from the Midwest and a huge fan of seafood, so I was really looking forward to some delicious fresh sea products. Let me tell you. I was not disappointed! The food was heavenly, the oysters too (usually hit or miss for me). Waiter service could have been a bit more attentive, but the brother was trying, I'm not mad. Anyway, go there for the food and endless mimosas (he he) and the desserts!! The jazz part... not so much, as you could barely hear the band playing. Recently, a couple of family members and I celebrated my sister's birthday at Rusty Scupper. We were very excited because it was our first time dining there. We loved that we were able to get a last minute reservation during Valentine's Day weekend. We enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant. It was a beautiful setting on the water. The food was not what we expected though. We all agreed that the Caesar Salad was very dry-unlike what I've had at any other restaurant or at home. I could tell that the lettuce was from a plastic bag and I received the last of what was in the bag. The best part of the salad was the cheese. Let me mention that there was only the Valentine's Day menu which included a three-course meal. I should have ordered soup instead of salad. My sister and I chose the crab cakes with roasted vegetables and mashed potatoes as our main course. I must say I enjoyed for the most part. Everything was seasoned just right. The crab cakes were very meaty which was a plus. I loved the roasted carrots and green beans. The mashed potatoes were absolutely delish; however chewing the skin of the potatoes was a no go for me. I had to fish out the potato skin. Another family ordered the beef. She did not like her choice. Then there is the dessert. We had a choice of cheesecake, tiramisu, and another but I cannot recall the third dessert. I chose what I thought was a traditional tiramisu cake. Both cakes were more like a pudding. There was a little hint of tiramisu in the center of cake. I was disappointed. Service was ok as well. With food, ambience and service combined, I rate Rusty Scupper at 3.5. read more

If you're looking for a nice restaurant on the fine dining level in B-more, I'd recommend this spot. It's perfect for groups, a date night or a celebration. In my case, we were celebrating my birthday - unbeknownst to me. I enjoyed everything. Our waiter, Logan, gave us some great recommendations. The crab dip was their most popular appetizer so we ordered that. I wasn't impressed. Too creamy for me. For my entree, I got the sea bass - lemon Blanc style - recommended by our waiter. It was Heavenly. I added crab crumbles on top and it was totally worth it. Everyone enjoyed their dish - from the salmon to the soup. Oh and that crispy fish? Jesus! That was amazing. It was my friend's dish but she was gracious enough to share. I particularly like the fact that it wasn't oily and they topped it with this delicious chimichurri sauce. Flavor on top of flavor! When I saw this restaurant was here in Baltimore several years ago while at a conference, I made it a bucket list destination for my husband and I. Last night we celebrated our 41st anniversary here. Service was quick, efficient and polite. Although the waitress did not seem to understand how big a deal it was to be celebrating our anniversary in this very restaurant. I was disappointed we didn't get acknowledged in anyway. Our food was fine, not outstanding. Calamari was averge at best. A little dry and no legs. Not a fan of 100% rings. I can always tell how good a restaurant is by the bread. They served a ciabatta bread that was chewy. The homemade tomato butter and the salted butter were both very tasty. The ribeye was cooked to order, the mashed potatoes were excellent. My Maryland crab soup was average, a bit spicy. The crab Cesar salad was delicious. Our glass of wine each was good. Price- This was not cheap. For the meal i just described cost 160.00. Will we back? Maybe, but it is 7 hours away from home. For our entrees, I got the Asian style Mahi mahi and it was dry and bland. The rice was not flavorful and the mahi mahi was over cooked. The Asian style was good, but the fish and rice were not prepared to my liking. My fiancé got the stuffed shrimp and it was an insanely small potion. I substituted the rice for mashed potatoes and they were thick and tasty. The fish also came with marinated cucumbers which were bomb as well. Even my husband liked the fish and he doesn't like fish. My husband ordered the filet mignon and seemed to like it. I don't like steak so don't ask me Lol! (Yes, you read that right, I don't like steak LOL). We were definitely too full for dessert so we skipped it. I also didn't feel like there was anything worth bursting my stomach for Lol! Parking is easy but make sure you get your ticket comped by your waitress so you don't pay the full price; we paid $9. The restaurant has a great view of the water and cute spots for photo ops. Maybe a bit late with my review but I am sure that this place still has great service and food which I am now making myself hungry thinking of. Before I go it is time to learn for those that may not know. A scupper is a hole in a ship's side to carry water overboard from the deck. An appropriate name as that is how I felt that someone may have to carry me out this place with all the the wonderful food I had that day. Who knows the great employees might just oblige, but I would not recommend asking this of them. I went there for a brunch after a hard day of unloading a bedroom set and putting together a very complicated bed. Luckily I and my help were treated to a surprise power up meal at the Rusty Scupper (RS). Upon walking in your eyes will have food sensory overload and your nose will be greeted with the tasty smells of their brunch. The chefs must be psychic because if you had a taste for it then it was there as an option. The spread was impressive and at no point did you find yourself waiting for a particular dish to be refilled as the staff kept the food filled. I found the fact that the food was constantly hot and it really seemed as if the food was time to be cooked at the exact moment it was needed. As for the drinks there was never a point where my mimosas went dry. The scenery while you eat is very relaxing. The RS offers a view of the Baltimore Inner Harbor (my 1st ROTD BTW) no matter where you sit. It is an excellent place for brunch and I am sure at anytime. If you are thinking this is like a typical buffet due to the large selection of food you will be proven wrong. The Cesar salad lacked any flavor, there was barely any anchovies or garlic flavor. It was essentially romaine lettuce with croutons and tiny Parmesan slivers. For our entrees we ordered the rock fish with an extra side of asparagus and crab meat. We also ordered a crab cake on the side and crab dip. I would not order any of the above again. The crab cake was delicious but the sauce it came with lacked any flavor and I think they should serve lemon on the side for all seafood entrees. The rock fish was under seasoned, the broccoli was supposed to be charred but it was burnt. The mashed potatoes lacked any flavor or seasoning. The asparagus was average. The amount of crab meat on the side was very small, I should have read the reviews on that because many patrons have complained and I agree for $13 extra it was a waste. The crab dip was essentially pimento dip with a tiny almost you had to dig for it crab meat. I don't know if this is typical or if the chef was having a bad day but it was my experience. I would not recommend going back. Beverages: We ordered a bottle of Oregon wine and I appreciate the waiter providing a taste. White wine needs to be chilled and our waiter brought us ice after we asked him but I don't understand why the wine wasn't kept to better temperature before it was brought to the table. We went for Sunday brunch before the ravens game. We had a beautiful seat by the window. The service was great and all the food was displayed beautifully. The live jazz was such a nice touch.
