Rustle and Still is one of my favourite cafe in Toronto. Located in Koreatown, this gem is the perfect spot serving delicious drinks and classic Vietnamese food. Staff have always been friendly and prompt with service. The ambiance is airy, light filled and decorated with murals. Although it can get quite busy in here and hard to grab seats, taking your order to go is better.

Phenomenal cafe. Just how a cafe should be. Independent and with variety of resources. Open expression with honest information on human rights that must be supported. Great service and customisations. Amazing veggie food and coffee. Sell services and items by local creators and artists. Well decorated and green!

Oh man, I first got to try this cafe's offerings during the pandemic when they offered home delivery all the way to Richmond Hill. Since then, I have been dreaming about the day when I can drink their delicious drinks, and eat their amazing food again. Literally been waiting years to find a reason to visit, and despite it taking me an hour, and a half to transit my way down there, totally worth it :D The cafe seems to be quite popular even on a weekday as when my friends, and I stopped by on a Thursday afternoon, the cafe was packed. We managed to get a seat as a table was getting up to leave just as we placed our order. Luckily, if the cafe truly is full, this place's takeout game is strong as heck as everything they offer can be ordered to go. Make sure to download their app too as you get a free cookie just for having downloaded the app! -[PURPLE SWEET POTATO LATTE] $6.00 (7/10) I ordered this because I don't recall this being a drink option for their 1L bottled drinks when they did home delivery a few years ago. It was served warm which let me drink it just a few minutes after it was made aka yay because I normally have to wait almost 30 minutes for hot drinks to come down to a consumable temperature for me. It was sweetened perfectly, but I did find the drink to be grainy likely because of what they utilize to flavor the latte? -[1L MATCHA PANDAN LATTE] $17.50 (10/10) I freaking looooove the flavor of pandan - tastes a tad florally, with hints of vanilla. Those flavors paired with matcha are PERFECTION :) The 1L bottle easily let me enjoy three cups of this drink at home which honestly just made me start planning when I should next visit again :') -[SAVORY DANISH] $5.00 (10/10) This made out of a puff pastry base with house-made chicken liver pâté, ham, a sunny side up egg, and scallion oil all to top it. This was so freaking flakey, and flavorful. I swear their food, and drinks always leave me wanting to have ordered maybe 10 of everything so I could continuously just enjoy it T__T

Super cute and cozy. I ordered a deluxe banh mi sandwich and a Vietnamese coffee. My one complaint about the sandwhich was the bread was a little hard/stale on the outside but soggy in the middle because it was drenched in this sauce. Vietnamese coffee was delicious but warning, very strong. Overall I'd recommend this place for a mid day pick me up

    Iced Matcha Pandan Latte

Super late review - Went on a trip to Toronto for the first time back in 2023 and wanted to check out a few cafes! Once I saw Rustle & Still's menu of a Matcha Pandan Latte, I knew I had to visit. The cafe is viet-owned and the worker who served us was so so sweet! The iced matcha pandan latte did not disappoint. We also got the pandan coconut crossiant that was just as good. The ambiance was cozy, a good amount of seating, bathroom available to customers, but not sure of wifi since I didn't go there to do work!

Pandan croissant, matcha pandan latte, viet coffee (regular)

My girlfriend added locations to visit while we were in Toronto and all of them happened to be cafes. I'm not a cafe connoisseur but I can appreciate a good coffee. We stepped in and the cafe is small but the staff is welcoming and the atmosphere is warm. This is a fantastic start to the day! I ordered the viet coffee, pandan croissant, and my girlfriend ordered the matcha pandan latte. The viet coffee was just as standard as any viet coffee but that doesn't mean anything bad. It's exactly what I was craving and exactly what I got; I'm content. But let me tell you about the pandan croissant, in hindsight, if I could have them shipped back across the states, I would. The crispy flaky croissant paired with a sweet pandan spread? Wow, we need more of this. I'd be perfectly content with buying an entire box! Now let's talk about the matcha pandan latte. Again, I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I'm glad my girlfriend ordered this because after a taste, I stole some more from her cup because it was that good. There's a wonderful balance between the matcha, pandan, and overall sweetness. You can actually taste the pandan and matcha, I'm blown away. Neither component was too strong and it just felt like a perfectly cohesive drink! All in all, the perfect service and food left a great impression. I'm glad we picked Rustle and Still as the first place during our short visit. We'll be back again!

    Beef skillet

My friend really likes coming here to get food to-go and she wanted to try eating in for once so I tagged along on a Friday at noon. Food: Based on the recommendation from the staff who has been eating this particular dish for lunch the past number of days, I got the beef skillet. This breakfast dish was protein-rich and super filling, I almost couldn't finish it but left some bread behind (don't bite me). The eggs were scrumptious - they had that great quality taste. The beef was beefy and the sausage was plump and juicy. The blocks of cheese reminded me of the Laughing Cow which brought some childhood nostalgia for me. This dish makes for a good shareable with one other person. I also got a purple sweet potato latte and it tasted like just the vegetable in latte form! Service & atmosphere: The staff here are really sweet. I was waiting around for my friend, ordered ahead, and was able to request the beef skillet to be prepared a little later. When you are ready for them to cook your meal, you just go up to them to let them know. There is wifi available and a customer washroom! The cafe does get packed rather quickly when I was there so I got lucky getting my friend and I seats.

Randomly discovered this hidden gem. The banh mi is super , so flavourful and portion is huge. Very generous on the toppings. Coffee is good and the hochicha cookie is delish. Can't wait to come back to try their other banh mi

you neeeed to try their matcha pandan latte!! it is the perfect sweetness for me and the pandan flavour really shines. I would say the viet coffee is not the best i've tried so i would definitely go with their lattes if you're here. i love asian food options at a cafe and their banh mi really satisfied the craving. the mayo dressing was scrumptious but the meat was a little on the dry end. I would definitely return here for a study session and enjoy all the greenery then have going on in here!

Lemongrass chicken and iced Vietnamese coffee

The coffee is good and the sandwiches are nice but service isn't great and the bathrooms are pretty rough. There are several seating options but it's not ideal if you're more than 3 people I'd say.

this Cafe is really cute and the atmosphere is perfect for studying! I got the sweet potato latte because it we so unique. I love the color, it was so interesting and the flavor was pretty good. I also got the hojicha cookie which I really liked the dark flavor. the color was my favorite, I really enjoyed the unique flavor!

While on the hunt for coffee during my trip to Toronto, I Yelp-ed a few places. On my radar was Rustle & Still. and quoted some of the best coffee in town? Obvi, my friends & I had to put it to the test. And the verdict? The pandan matcha latte was no joke. Silky smooth, creamy & sweet enough to energy my day. And what I loved is that you can most definitely taste the notes of pandan AND matcha without one over-empowering the other. So yes, totally worth the trip! And the decor and plant-friendly vibes are another added plus to visiting rustle & Still!

Mixed labeling - suggestion: marking off chicken and pork too
    Janice Y.

Rustle and Still is one of the top cafes in Toronto. Yelp Canada's Top 100 in 2019 and one of the top plant cafes in Canada/US! I probably tried the entire banh mi menu at this point, from dine in, take out, to delivery. Every time it's been great! If you're doing takeout/delivery, they are all well packaged and individually wrapped. My fav is the lemongrass chicken or the mixed lemongrass chicken/pork. They aren't your standard banh mis, they do it UP with generous ingredients, a twist on the traditional sandwich. If you like it spicy, it can get as INTENSE as you want it. Vegan/vegetarian? No problem. I love their hearty Bo Kho beef stew. Apparently they have a vegan/halal version of the dish... What?! If you're in the area, definitely worth checking out for the planty vibes and the additional treats they serve in the store. I tried their new cassava cake (gluten-free), a Filipino specialty, delish. They also sell other items beyond food in-store. I like their cute tote with all the popular Toronto coffee shops (including Rustle and Still). It's my go-to tote bag when I'm around town now. My only suggestion is that the mixed banh mi tag be labelled with "chicken and pork" instead of only checking off mixed. That way, if it's for catering and delivery for a larger group, others would know what type of meat is in there without asking the person who ordered.

Food was excellent and service was accommodating. I had beef rib pho and complimentary warm tea. The sauce to go with the beef rib was quite good. I got the rest of the pho to go, as it was a huge serving. It was a bit of a challenge trying to put the contents of the huge bowl into the takeout containers and I imagine other people have this same issue. Will definitely be back. They specialize in meat platters where you can create DIY fresh rolls. The platters come with lettuce, mints, vermicelli, rice paper and house special sauce. They also have pho, rice, and vermicelli dishes as well. Washrooms are located downstairs which are not accessible. They only accept cash (with a 10% cash discount) or debit. I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!
