Disclaimer. This review is for one thing and one thing only: the clam and bacon pizza. Parking here is a nightmare, and I honestly don't know what to tell you about any other dish here because I will probably never order anything that isn't the clam bacon pizza. Ride a bike, hitchhike, walk, crawl, do whatever you need to do to get here, and order the clam bacon pizza. read more

Drove in From Kenai heard it was a great place and all but had very mixed feeling, the Chicken wings were red inside and the Cod Tacos very mediocre I had better Tacos at Taco time, I would not go back to much hype over this Place for what you get, I would not go back this is just my feelings read more

This was a real nice surprise. Went there while on vacation in Alaska. I wanted something different and unique and this is like a jewel tucked away almost out of sight. Didn't have any idea how good it is... will definitely go there again next trip to Alaska. Food was high top of the line chef quality, and the server was really on the ball. Initially stopped there because of the weird name and unusual appearance of the restaurant. Has simple nice classy decor, and they have country, table or booth seating available. We chose the upstairs outside balcony for our supper experience, and it was so cool. It's near a local airport so could watch small planes flying by. Had the margherita pizza on gluten free crust, along with a cauliflower crust flatbread with veggies. All so delicious! ONLY problem is the small parking lot. They're outgrowing their location, which means yes, they are worth a stop. read more

This is our neighborhood hang out. Nice, clean, friendly place where the food is tasty and reasonably priced. Love the little desserts also. We'll be back within the week. read more

Nice place. Awesome decor. Limited menu. I think is meant for drinking but the Mac and cheese is unreal!!!

The food here is great, the decor is great, service has been pretty nice as well. The cons are that every time I've been, I have to wait, and it's really loud, and the parking is a nightmare. read more

Love these folks! Great meal every time, Along with wonderful , quality beer and wine selection. Go!

I went here for my sisters graduation and had a excellent experience there. I first called the place to ask them if they had wheelchair accessibility and they said yes and even added a note with our reservation. We were greeted by a server who showed us the elevator after reading the note with our reservation. I went the safe bet and got a burger. About 12 minutes later my entire family was being served great food. My burger was top notch and I even got a taste of the steak which was nicely seasoned and really juicy. When we got our bill it was way less then expected considering the food I tasted was so good. read more

We stopped in for dinner on a whim and were very pleasantly surprised by the interesting menu and delicious food. We shared the seasonal veggies which were delicious. My husband got the chicken masala and had to restrain himself from licking the plate. I had the cauliflower flatbread - love that they have a dairy/gluten free option. It was good enough that I want to try to replicate it at home! We finished it off with the chai apple torte which was nicely spiced and just the right way to end the meal. We will definitely be back! read more

I moved to Anchorage three years ago and one of the first restaurants I ever passed by was the Rustic Goat. Straight away I made up my mind about visiting the establishment, it was to be avoided at all costs. On the outside and from what you can see of the interior from the road, it looks like a hipster's paradise. I despise hipsters. However, as the old adage goes, one should never judge a book by its cover, or in this case the restaurant by its clientele. Many coworkers and local friends referred me to the spot over the past couple years, there were claims of great beers on tap, amazing pork nachos, and pizza dripping with deliciousness. I would not budge though. Then, finally, after the thousandth recommendation, I gave in. Disguised in slim fit jeans and the staple Patagonia micro puff I infiltrated the lower open seating area without raising much suspicion. I ordered a Hefeweizen on tap from Diamond Knot. It was great and it set the mood for the evening; magnificent. The waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu offerings. We started with pork nachos as an appetizer and all I can say is it's a shame they don't offer some sort of pork sandwich. A friend who frequents the eatery suggested the Cholula Pizza and I was not disappointed with the expert's call. Overall I am highly impressed with the ole Rustic Goat. The interior is of the industrial aesthetic, it's chic and trendy, which might attract hipsters. This is understandable because it is a warm and inviting environment. Pair the atmosphere with the food and you have a concoction for a fantastic evening. If it wasn't as hot as the oven they're baking the food in I'd give it five stars. read more

I had dinner there last night for the very first time. My first impression was "wow, there is NO parking". My second impression was "nice looking place inside". I was seated upstairs. I found the dinner menu rather lacking and the "large plate" very expensive. The filet is over $40. I tried a cup of the soup of the day, which was potato and chorizo. The flavor was good but the soup was too thin. I was expecting big pieces of potato and slices of chorizo. I could have easily slurped the soup through a straw. I then ordered the Margarita pizza made with smoked mozzarella cheese and house made marinara with cherry tomatoes. The house made marinara is super sweet. Way too sweet for my taste. I left over half the pizza on the table. I did not take it to go. I love pizza and eat a lot of it. If you love pizza like I do, DO NOT GO HERE FOR YOUR PIZZA. There are much better places around town for that. I will not go back. read more

We can in during lunch and were told we had to wait. We waited about 5-10 min not long but when we got upstairs to our table there were very few tables occupied. They shoved us in a tight table in the corner. three of us ordered the stuffed olives to share. They we nothing exiting just tasted like breaded olives couldn't really taste the cheese stuffed inside. I ordered the Mac and cheese, I love onions but even I couldn't eat the amount they placed in the Mac and cheese. I could not finish eating due to the amount of oil that pooled at the bottom. I still 4 hours later feel like I am rubbing the oil of my lips. The other two dinners I came with ordered the BLT one only nibbled on the bacon and the other ate partial of hers. Not sure how you screw up a BLT but they both though it tasted off. All and all I tried it I don't think I will go back . read more

Great food, beautiful atmosphere, unique menu items, great prices, locally owned. I have been here 3 times now and will be going back regularly! read more

...it is advertised as children-free. the table behind me had two crying babies. The food was decent but ruined by the mothers discussing in detail the content and consistency of their kids diapers. I turned around to say something, and one was breast feeding. I won't be back. The food isn't worth tolerating the clients. read more

My opinion of the entrees we tried: The gnocchi was amazing, but the shish kabobs were burnt to a crisp. We are talking SMALL portions way overpriced. Better off getting several appetizers and we would have left full with more money in the wallet. read more

Menu is spotty and last time I went (and it'll be the last time) two burgers took over an hour. We'd placed an order for a sandwich to be ready to go at the end of the meal. They forgot. Took another 45 minutes. Best thing about it is the ambience. read more

We ate dinner tonight for the first time a the Rustic Goat. It was amazing. Our server, Johnathan was delightful - prompt, kind, helpful. Our appetizers came quickly and were delicious! The fried olives and seasoned vegetables were absolutely delicious. For dinner, we had the crab ravioli special, along with Chicken Marsala and the Gnocchi. Each of them was a perfect portion and served hot. We sampled each one and they were all wonderful. For dessert - we tried the chai apple tart, the smores, and the chocolate brownie. Again, all were fabulous! The restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and was a nice to relax in and enjoy the evening. We were able to find parking - one of us had to park down the street, but it was an easy walk. We will definitely be back. We also found the prices very reasonable for the quality food we received. We loved our experience here. We will give it a four star for now... and update when we come back again. Hope the service and food quality is consistent! read more

My rating is not for the food or I wouldn't have made a reservation for a large party 2 months in advance. We tried to change our reservation from 8 people to 11 and they said we could try for first-come, first serve tables downstairs instead (I've had this 35th Anniversary reservation on my calendar longer than the reservation even...). Then, manager said they could make another reservation for the extra 3 people upstairs but, WILL NOT & could not, guarantee the small table would be near the big table & it could be across the room! What? You know, most couples would choose to have their 35th Anniversary alone & romatic, etc. FAMILY is how we CHOSE to be together this year because it will never happen again. Our daughter & grandson (17) from NJ, our other daughter, husband & granddaughter from up North, my brother & his son from WA and his other son, who will be graduating college soon and my Best Friend, who lives in Anchorage & is like a sister to me. Our immediate family will never be getting together again. Boys are men now and we are getting older. My husband is almost 70. I just spent the last 10 minutes just bawling when I got off the phone. Things have not been going right lately and this just topped it off. After having these plans so long, now 14 days before our Anniversary (WE do not live in Anchorage), where would I find a place for 11 people to dine now). Plus, grandson from NJ was really looking forward to eating there again. HE used to go on our anniversary dinners with us, just him, to the Corsair, our old place to go..... Still teary.... Never will I go there again if a 'young' manager can't seem to understand and put a small table next to a large table. Let's see... calculate this.... over $500 with drinks... read more

Had reservation for 7p.m. party of four (1/15/16). Checked in with the hostess at 7:10p.m. 8:15p.m. my party was still waiting to be seated. There were several other groups of people that arrived after we did including a female party of six. During the hour wait time, we constantly checked in with the hostess about being seated and reminding her and later the manager that we had reservations for 7p. We also mentioned the fact that several other guest had been seated whether it was a party of two, three, or six had been seated. The manage attempted to pacify us by indicating there were tables that had been "cashed" out though those guest continued to hold up the table. This was my very first time patronizing this business and have no plans on returning. I had learned of the Rustic Goat after the business had been aired on local news several times due to local residents complaints. My decision to attempt to give this business the benefit of the doubt.. turned out to be a very poor decision. read more
