Ordered the Barcelona and it had Zero prosciutto. Check your order before you leave, this place sadly has become unreliable. Won't be back soon. How is the rest of the salad? For $15 here is what I got today: not a speck of crispy prosciutto, 1 paper thin slice of Machego (i added the little pieces together and it didnt register on my food scale), 5 canned Mandarin orange pieces, a good sprinkle of marcona chopped almonds, lettuce/fennel/radicchio mix was fine. All weighed in at 10oz. My coworkers and I love Rustic Bakery. We have a food rotation at work every week and when someone brings Rustic Bakery's pastries it is devoured in no time. They have a great variety including plain and chocolate croissants, blueberry muffins, cinnamon puffs, orange cake, lemon blueberry scones and savory cheddar scallion scones. I have been a customer since their humble beginnings when they only had their original store in Larkspur. I remember hearing about their amazing pastries way back when and had to check it out myself. The quiches and cookies are my all time favorites. They also have salads, sandwiches and so much more on their menu now. The location is very convenient, whether you're waiting for the next ferry or walking around the farmers market. It's also great that they have organic options and I like that they tend to have seasonal items which make cute souvenirs/presents. As other reviews mentioned, service can be on the slower side, specially during high traffic hours, but if you're not on a rush it is still a good option. read more

The Rustic Bakery in Larkspur has the most incompetent service/ order management system I've seen. They have things on the online order that are not on the menu. There is a mob waiting for pick up orders. I placed an online order for pickup at 12:45pm. I was told it would be ready by 1:03. My friend showed up at the store in person around 1, waited in line, and got her order by 1:10 or so. After checking with the manager several tines, my order was no where in sight. Also, I had ordered a vegetarian soup online and it wasn't available at the store. Both soups were meat options. Said manager was frozen in place and didn't offer a refund or solution. I asked to replace with a salad. More waiting. At 1:30 or so, 45 min after my order was placed and after waiting over 30 min, the manager canceled my order. I was waiting with a four year old in tow and the best he could do under the circumstances was to cancel the order altogether. I'm calling tomorrow to complain about the specific manager. But this is not the first bad experience I've had at this restaurant. Never stepping foot here again. read more

Boy has this place gone down hill. I used to come here everyday. I went yesterday I ordered a cappuccino it took 11 mins to order , I was the only person in line .i also ordered the egg panini ($13) as soon as it arrived I knew the whole thing was made in a microwave. Stopped here for a quick breakfast on our way to a hike to Muir Beach. I ordered the Breakfast Panini ($10) and was not disappointed! On a sunny Monday morning, there was no line, but there were still plenty of people enjoying their pastries in both the indoor and outdoor seating areas. What I loved most about the panini was that it was stuffed with meat and gruyere, meaning it was easily shareable between two people as a pre-hike meal. Very flavorful. My family stopped by here to take some pastries and a loaf of bread home to give as a gift. It reminds me of a study/lunch place that always has people going in and out. We weren't in there for very long so I cannot give an accurate depiction of Rustic Bakery, but it was enough to make me go back in the future. I tried their apple croissant and thought the sweetness was perfect. I didn't buy the texture of it, but nonetheless, a good breakfast. The baked goods here look better than they taste, which is disappointing, but my experiment size of two products doesn't do justice. The rosemary bread we took home was enjoyed by another family who said it was very good. Next time, I'll try their sandwiches. I definitely prefer these pastries over Starbucks or a place like that. My husband and I went for breakfast while in town. I had the breakfast panini which was pretty good. Eggs were cooked nicely, gruyere cheese is a nice change for a breakfast sandwich. His breakfast burrito was ok, needed more salsa. When I asked for another little side of salsa I was informed it was an extra charge. So I figured $0.50 or $1. When they told me it was $2.50 for a 1 oz side of salsa after I spent $51 on breakfast I almost sh!t myself. Forget that. The arrogance was astounding. Go somewhere else. read more

[ During Covid Review ] Was in the plaza for the farmers market with my fiancee and we decided to find somewhere to eat and grab some lunch. We ended up going to this place to grab some food, but please note that the line here is insane! It was around lunchtime on a weekend so unfortunately the line is understandable. While waiting in line, I heard from customers that they ordered a salad and they were waiting already 20 minutes for it. Originally, I was going to order a salad, but hearing that they were still waiting for their food, I decided to go with an easy dish such as a muffin. While waiting in line, the bakery does have marks on the ground to make sure customers keep their 6 ft distance, but that still didn't stop people from ignoring it. As you wait, they do have little items that are on display such as their mother's day specials, cookies, crackers, and little cute soaps that they offer. When we got to ordering, turns out they were out of muffins and so I ended up not ordering anything while my fiancee ordered the bear claw. We were excited to try the bear claw because we go to a place in Pinole that sells them and they are usually delicious! Unfortunately the bear claw tasted horrible per my fiancee and that it wasn't worth it. He said that it tasted like a croissant and that the filling inside of the bear claw was next to nothing of that. He said that he would give this bear claw a 2/5. I wish I could have tried their pastries, but unfortunately they were pretty much completely out and I didn't want to wait 25-30 minutes for a salad. Super cute ambiance with a great selection of pastries and breads. I love coming here to catch up with a friend over coffee. They even have sandwiches and salads if you'd like to order lunch! The best sandwich I've had in my life came from Rustic - no joke. It was a seasonal caprese sandwich with the most amazing fresh tomato slices. I still think about it often, and hope it'll come back on the menu for summer/fall! I've had a few experiences where my drink is made incorrectly, which is why I deducted a star. What happened to this place??! Has gone completely downhill!! My boring Asian Chicken salad was what they "recommended". I got it and it had no mint, the peanuts were raw not roasted, chicken was dry I almost choked on a few pieces and I asked for the olive oil vinaigrette and instead got a container of plain old olive oil. I also ordered a chai and it was the blandest chai I have ever had. The blond girl that was there had total attitude and was acting as if life is a burden and appeared miserable. This place just lacks the care that it used to have the first few years of business. At this rate, I'm surprised they are still open. My favorite Asian Chicken Salad has changed and it was terribly disappointing. It used to be fantastic with a tangy peanut sauce, crisp lettuce, peanuts, chicken and general deliciousness. Now they add some lettuce to about a full cup of sesame seeds, roughly chopped scallions, a very small teaspoon of peanuts and chicken. The worst part is it was a whopping $20 and pretty awful. If I were rating Edwin who works there, I would give this place 5 stars but they done have enough vegan / plant based options for a 5 star review. There lattes are delicious, and their avocado toast is delicious, but the bread was thin not thick so they need to change either the description or the slice width of the bread, but it was still delicious! My friend who is not plant based lived it, and had their tuna, egg and chicken salad and raved about all of them, and Edwin was a doll and made sure we had enough crackers to eat those salads with. What a friendly guy who went out of his way to make our meal even better! I had the opportunity to experience this delicious place during my recent business trip to Marin County. They're located in Larkspur Landing Circle, next 24 hour fitness. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating with ample parking available. The menu offering reminded me a lot of Corner Bakery and Panera Bread, but better. There are lots of delicious pastries, baked goods, sandwiches, soups and salads to try. The highlights for me are the croissants. Excellent variety and quality. The flavor profile of meyer lemon croissant ($4.25) is simply sublime. Lusciously sweet and lightly tart. Texture is flaky, crisp and soft. I think I could eat this croissants every morning for the rest of my life and never get tired of it. Also, tried their mixed berry scone ($4) which is equally yummy. Love the refreshing cup of latte that I got with them, coffee art visually appealing. Overall, I would happily go back to continue working my way though their various tempting selections. read more

They have such a nice variety to offer, muffins, scones...breakfast burritos and Pannini's..etc. Some of my co-workers order lunch, nice salads and sandwiches. Their coffees are also very good. I bought a jar of their ginger babies cookies. They're gingerbread cookies in miniature size. The size of animal crackers. Freakin adorable. I thought they'd at least be alright. It's Christmas time & they're an ideal accompaniment to coffee & hot chocolate. Right? Well these ginger babies are not alright. They are outstanding. The ginger flavor & the texture are perfection. They're very crispy, so best for dunking. It's funny, I actually prefer a chewy cookie, but these are so insanely good that that just went out the window. I think I could probably eat close to the entire jar. They're tiny. But I didn't because I'm a grown woman who can practice restraint, dammit. Came close though. Highly addictive. Stopped by here on our way to Sonoma for a late breakfast and was pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything was here. I loved the croissant and the steel cut oatmeal was incredibly creamy and delicious. They have a fabulous variety of baked goods that all look so decadent and if my food is any indication then I'm sure the rest of the items are equally tasty. Highly recommend you pop by here if you're in the area. Lots of cute shops in the same center too if you want to walk around a bit after eating.
