Love this bakery! The coffee is 10/10, the pastries are all delicious and their menu selection of food to order is great! Lots of sitting room inside and outside. Super cute location, very aesthetically pretty bakery, the outside is beautiful. Must try when you visit Marin country mart.

Ham & cheese quiche

Went there this morning and had their ham and cheese quiche and hot chocolate. The quiche was one of the best I've ever had. The hot chocolate was great also.

Nice little bakery/cafe. My sister lives up the hill so it's super close by. Nice selection of pastries ( we came during the week- weekends may be a different story) and a nice menu of breakfast items, sandwiches, quiche, 2 soups of the day, and 1/2 sandwich-soup combo. The soup sandwich combo was the best I think. Hubby liked his turkey emmentaler sandwich which was on a roll. Cousin got an avocado toast with thick slices of avo. They also have a selection of boxed cookies and sweet treats for sale. Nice and casual with some tables inside. If eating in, they bring the items to your table.

If you want the best quality pastries around, rustic has you covered! I use them for work catering on occasion and they are always a hit. The restaurant is located in a cute little mall (The Marin County Mart) and has indoor/outdoor seating. It's always pretty busy, but moves quick. There soups and sandwiches are always a great option for lunch as well as the salads. There is not a bad item on the menu!

Nice place in Larkspur Landing. Outdoor seating is nice with umbrellas Lots of customers always specially on a Saturday during the farmers market. Seasonal selections But regular menu is good. First 6 sandwiches only for the +soup or +salad combo. The bread here is good. Sandwiches are excellent. Got the 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad. Excellent!

I've been a loyal customer at this location (and Larkspur Landing) for years and Lorena always recognizes me. I'm happy to see that they've persisted through COVID-19 and it seems like customers and the staff are getting more attuned to safety protocol. I understand that their offerings and hours have been minimized to accommodate the changes in business and demands. Their vanilla lattés are one of my staples and I'm quite partial to the granola parfait with fresh fruit. Today, I got a ham and cheese croissant to share with my son and they offered to heat it up, which made the cheese in the center deliciously gooey. But, to be fully transparent, the reason that I was motivated to write today's review was because we found sustainable silverware in our take-out bag today. As someone who is routinely dismayed to find a stash of plastic utensils in most of the take-out/delivery bags that arrive these days, even when we have requested otherwise, finding that Rustic Bakery has moved ahead with their sustainability goals - amidst all of the current challenges made me really happy.

This is for the Rustic Bakery on Magnolia Ave in Larkspur (NOT the one in Larkspur Landing/Marín Country Mart.) My first time here. Asked for the one scone in the case. Label said "apricot and almond." While waiting for my coffee, bit into scone which was salty, not sweet. Closer inspection revealed a cheese, corn and jalapeño scone. Waited in line to exchange. No scones left so I got a cinnamon roll. Tasty but a bit dry (at 10:30 AM.) Went to bathroom to wash sugar off my hands. Room was filthy. If this is how they keep the bathroom up, what does that say about the kitchen? I'm giving it a 2, only because the personnel were pleasant.

Easter Goodies!

Small, quaint bakery/eatery with wonderfully baked goods. Popular breakfast and lunch spot for super casual eats. Think sandwiches, soups, pastries and breads. I've tried slices of their olive oil cake and pecan bars. Both were deelish - fresh, perfectly baked with just enough sugar to satisfy your sweet tooth. What I love about this place: Very relaxing outdoor umbrella seating with great people watching opportunities, but seating fills up quickly on sunny weekends! Alternatively, there's a fair amount of inside seating with a communal table and seats along the window. A lively vibe inside is an added plus.

Right when I came in I just knew it was good and I got to ordering Parking is pretty open and convenient so it was easy to walk right over. I ordered on the kiosk which makes it easier and gives me more time to look at items. I kept it simple and got a strawberry lemonade which was very good and also in cute packaging. The interior of this place felt like I was in Dubai or something because of the gold and how fancy this place looks lol overall I love it and the music playing.

I'll start with Arabic light roast coffee that was a golden color and infused with cardamom. It was exactly what I was looking for that day. It tasted great, and it gave me to pick me up. I needed for the rest of the afternoon. I have never seen coffee that color. It was delightful. As for the fatayer, it is basically the Yemeni version of an empanada. I am very much a savory breakfast person, so this was a special treat. The spices were amazing, and it was cooked to perfection. This is one of the items you can see in the display case that they warm up for you on the spot. There were also many desserts and other food options. I should also note that I ordered on a large tablet display, which included several different drink, and food options. Honestly, the menu was a little bit overwhelming given the number of choices, but it also makes me think that there is so much more that I need to try next time. I needed to get some work done, so I sa myself down on the very comfortable couch, which conveniently contained a Wi-Fi password stuck to the edge of the adjacent table. It was very chill, and if I didn't have an appointment to get you I certainly could've stayed there all day. I am excited to try some other things on the menu and continue to support this local business.

The place is clean, with plenty of seating both inside and outside, and there is a large selection of pastries, scones, breads, and grab-and-go items. The staff is professional and efficient, though clearly busy, so do not expect a lot of chit-chat. I also picked up a box of Cheese Coins, which turned out to be dangerous because I loved them and ate the whole box. Good coffee, fresh pastries, easy seating, and enough tempting extras to make you buy more than you planned. I will probably stop by again tomorrow morning before leaving the area.

Whatever we lacked in Korean or Ethiopian fare we made up for with an abundance of restaurants specializing in food from France and Italy. Amelie Cafe and Wine Bar continues the tradition and I'm not mad about it. With outposts in both San Francisco and New York City, Amelie sports a nice pedigree. The Fairfax location is dialed down a bit - perfect for the neighborhood it serves - and makes for a comfortable place to enjoy any meal however you might happen to appear that day. It's a simple cafe and, though not inexpensive, certainly less so than a trip to Paris. Two of us recently dined here, late afternoon on a weekend, sharing a burger ($23; comes with fries and a salad), a lager ($8; they have no IPA), and boquerones, the latter of which I fully regretted having to share. Whenever I see boquerones ($12) on a menu I cannot look away and in Marin, finding such an offering is a unicorn. Delicious; I might sneak back over solo just to enjoy them again. The burger and fries were also good, with a profile a bit different than what one would get at a non-French-centric spot. Amelie is a good place to drop in before or after a movie or a show in Fairfax and equally wonderful to pop into for a morning coffee drink or an afternoon glass of wine. It's a casual and a perfect fit for Fairfax.

I know times are not easy money-wise, and I hope that this place can hang in there, all things considered. Their prices are still reasonable and rather competitive to other San Rafael cafes we go to, and the food quality and service are excellent. We were welcomed immediately, and placed drink orders while waiting for a straggler - there's always one! Being regulars over the years - or decades, more accurately - we all knew what we wanted. Our server, Luci, has been here seemingly forever, and quickly took our order. We had the Grilled MAC (mushroom, avocado, and cheese) with Swiss on Rye, and a side salad; a hamburger with fries; a Club sandwich, and another hamburger, this one with a side salad! The food came quickly and was very fresh. The fries were really good (I had to collect a "french fry tax" from another's plate) and were crispy yet not greasy. The side salads here are always different from other places, with lettuce, plus fresh and blanched vegetables like tomatoes (okay, a fruit!), carrots, cauliflower, bell peppers, kidney beans, red onion, broccoli, and I think zucchini. I may have missed one! Too much goodness, and delicous all together. The Grilled MAC is tasty, and the hamburgers disappeared quickly, while the Club was beautifully made. Overall, a pleasant casual lunch with friends and great food in a nice ambiance. Hope to be back soon, as I forgot how good this place always is!
