They offer a great selection of breakfast and lunch options, plus a Greek menu that gives you even more to try. One of our favorite things is that they rotate different soups almost daily--there's always something new and comforting. The owner, Leo, and his entire staff are truly wonderful and make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. The cafe itself is small, cozy, and full of locals who clearly love being there--you can feel the happy, community vibe while dining. Redwood Cafe consistently goes above and beyond with customer service. I often bring my mother with me, and they genuinely treat people like family. We love this place so much that we try to stop by at least once a week. Thank you for the delicious paninis, amazing soups, and the great selection of desserts. I'll start with Arabic light roast coffee that was a golden color and infused with cardamom. It was exactly what I was looking for that day. It tasted great, and it gave me to pick me up. I needed for the rest of the afternoon. I have never seen coffee that color. It was delightful. As for the fatayer, it is basically the Yemeni version of an empanada. I am very much a savory breakfast person, so this was a special treat. The spices were amazing, and it was cooked to perfection. This is one of the items you can see in the display case that they warm up for you on the spot. There were also many desserts and other food options. I should also note that I ordered on a large tablet display, which included several different drink, and food options. Honestly, the menu was a little bit overwhelming given the number of choices, but it also makes me think that there is so much more that I need to try next time. The inside was very dense and almost custard-like rather than airy. If that's the style you prefer, you might enjoy it, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. My husband had the ham and cheese croissant, which we asked to be heated. Unfortunately, it ended up soggy throughout, which took away from the experience. On top of that, the selection of bakery items felt pretty limited, which was a bit surprising. Overall, I'm not quite sure what the hype is about. It might just not have been the right fit for our preferences, but it didn't quite live up to expectations for us.

It's located up a hill next to an urgent care. Parking was fairly easy in the structure. I ordered the Hot Chicken Club sandwich ($11.45) on Dutch crunch bread. To start, the bread was okay. Wasn't exactly crunchy but nothing like a quick oven bake at home can't fix. The sandwich lists- breaded chicken, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce (romaine), tomato and chipotle aioli. I was sort of expecting the sandwich to have a bigger spice kick because of the "hot" in the name of the sandwich. It wasn't spicy at all unfortunately. I did appreciate that it was not over saucy and it was easy to handle the sandwich when eating. I was half expecting the breaded chicken to be crispy but it wasn't sadly. There was only 1 piece of bacon on the sandwich. The ratio of meat (chicken and bacon) to veggie (tomato and romaine) was fairly even. For the price and size, it was okay. It is a tad smaller than the sandwiches I've seen at other places like Michael's sourdough. The storefront was fairly large with lots of into and outdoor seating. The two people working seemed nice. Hopefully they have more influx of customers due to having urgent care nearby. Due to the location, I feel like not many people know about this place since it's not the easiest to get to if you don't have a car. Overall, I may come back and try another sandwich in the future if I'm nearby but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I walked out and will never spend another dollar here. The cafe is frequently dirty, disorganized, and oddly empty for good reason. Staff act like taking your order is an inconvenience, show little patience, and seem openly uninterested in basic customer service. The food is mediocre at best, and whatever value it might have is ruined by the sour aftertaste of dealing with the people behind the counter. There are too many better options nearby to waste your time or money here. The taco truck around the corner is better, and Michael's makes a far superior sandwich while treating customers with actual courtesy. Spend your money somewhere that appreciates it.
