There are always customers at Russ Restaurant every time we drive through Wagoner. Now I know why. It is a fantastic little diner. The best in town. Excellent food, friendly service served in a cozy clean little building. They open at 11AM, so no breakfast. Serving lunch and dinner with everything you could want in a small diner. Daily specials, burgers and pies. Fried Catfish and fried chicken is their specialty. Today's special was chicken fried chicken. Add mashed potatoes with cream gravy, and fried okra then double the order. That is what my wife and I had. It was excellent. Blackberry pie was available, but we were stuffed. Fried chicken was some of the best in OK. Definitely freshly cooked and brined at least a few hours. Moist and flavorful. Good vale with rltwo sides and free crackers. Nice small town diner atmosphere, bathrroms were hot but nice. Highly recommend! read more

If you are looking for some good fried chicken, this is the place to go in Wagoner! It is always cooked to order, hot fresh and seasoned well. Add a little honey and it is perfection! While spending a night in Wagoner on our way home from traveling we decided to try Russ Restaurant. We were so surprised that we could get a Senior meal which consisted of 3 pieces of fish, two hush puppies a side and a large tea for $7.99 The meal was delish! My wife and I came here for lunch. I order a chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, jalapeño hush puppies and a side of tator tots. The food was good, however the hour and 15 minute wait was a little ridiculous. I would only recommend someone try this restaurant if you have no plans because you could be late for them. read more

Traveling through Oklahoma from Missouri to Texas and was craving seafood. We were thrilled to find Russ Restaurant. From the get go our waitress, Deb, was super friendly and greeted us with warm hospitality. She was quick and very attentive but the food was a disappointment. The catfish was very undercooked, the Cole slaw was bland and brought out way ahead of time before our meal. The shrimp, French fries and beans on the other hand made up for it, so we left the fish and slaw and just ate the rest. Normally, we would've sent the fish back to the kitchen for longer cooking but we were in a hurry to get back on the road. We waited for our check which never came and when the waitress sat down with other patrons, we assumed we had to go to the front to pay before receiving a check???? We should've been told that little detail. We never saw a check and was just told the amount due by the cashier! Oh and the tablecloths were really yucky: invest in new ones! read more

This little jewel just opened 3 weeks ago. I stopped in to give it a try and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the 2 pic fish with fries and a side of hush puppies. The fish pieces were huge and perfectly cooked...crispy coating and hot, tender, flaky inside. The hush puppies were delicious! All that with a small drink was only $7.80.
