A maniac about to devour some Chicken-Fried Steak & Eggs
Natalie K.

Okay y'all... do, no, sleep on this cafe!!!! It was an absolute delight from start to finish! First of all... Prettiest gals in the Quah apparently work there... what are the odds- just sayin' ...oh, and sweet too-boot! Taylor was our gal and she was so friendly & helpful!! Something that my husband and I feel strongly about needs to be mentioned now: "THEY HAVE DIET MT DEW FOUNTAIN ...in this establishment!!". This is an anomaly that we don't often come across. Now... the serious bit... the food: We shared, I know, were lame, but we're sharers & we added on, so hush! We got the chicken fried steak and eggs with hash browns... mmmm, guys!! Then we added biscuits & sausage gravy.... Lort, yall, that sausage gravy is heaven!!! Go check 'em out. You will not, cannot be disappointed. Mic drop.

Dyllon sandwich, bacon, sausage, ham & egg sandwich

Food and service are both great to find in Tahlequah -- and Fite's has both. Had an incredible meal of the fry bread & the Dyllon sandwich. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had in years.

Three big corn tortillas filled with seasoned chicken, smothered with freshly made green sauce, and as an extra touch, covered with grilled onion, cilantro and a generous sprinkle of cotija cheese. A tasty plate of fancy enchiladas, not typical of small town OkieMex joints. My Torta was remarkable. I am sticking firm to this assessment...It was the best that I have ever had!! A fresh soft bolillo, mayo, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno, cheese and a little avocado. I got the two meat Torta. Tender flavorful barbacoa and carnitas prepared properly with a nice crispy fried finish. An excellent sandwich. The sandwich was wrapped up tightly in paper, holding the loaded hand meal together until I pealed it back. I devoured the sandwich. Great service, clean comfortable restaurant. Impressive food. Another great option in Tahlequah. Note: try the carnitas here!!!

Everything was well prepared, a little greasy but expected at a diner. The restaurant is very small so I wouldn't suggest a big party to come eat here, and bring a jacket as it's chilly inside.

I needed a place to stay and i only got to stay one night in a hotel because they sold the room form under me to a company. I had no were to go and i was really hurting. I didnt know anyone around and needed something to eat and coffee to calm my nerves. I felt like a huge failure with everything around me going on. Yah i could have gone anywhere to grab something to eat but i wanted something that made me feel at home. I came into the dinner mad and scared feeling like a straight failure. I order a omelet and coffee. when i walked in it was like walking into home felt like i was suppose to be there. small town and good people. My heart began to be calm. Alyssa " mom" or " big Sister" you can definitely tell she calls the shots. She runs the roost. she was so calm and talking to me. i told her why i was there and the reasons why i am driving to OK. she just listened and gave me advice and made me laugh. she really reminded me of my sister that passed away. Alyssa being so down to earth and funny made me want to come back each time. So as i slept in my jeep from the 4-10th at Ross park had no were else to go i went there to Boomarang dinner "my dinner". Yes it started as a place to eat but it turned into a place of calmness and happiness. i got to know everyone of the staff and there amazing i kept going back to eat there. I love the food and the ambiance. chicken fried stake and black coffee. the staff dose tremendous great work and if i could make the wages different i would at least pay them $19.00 hr. i looked up the minimum wage in Tahlequah, Ok $7.10hr that is absurd. these wonderful people do way more then just help run a dinner. they are family, therapist, counselors, jokesters and good quality people. The staff works hard to keep the place running in tip top shape. I was there when the small front fridge broke and NO on sat in the fridge the door just fell off because of all the usage. No staff broke the door. Please who ever is reading this and own this great establishment let the staff sit down and rest there feet for a momnet i see them up and running around all the time. let them have a moment and be a human being and have a cup of coffee in the dinner. these wonderful people are not robots. they are people to. I love the staff. As i look up minimum at $7.10hr + tips need to do better then that. People can not survive on minimum wage like that there are families to support and that is one way to loose staff. when the staff cant afford to feed there families and start to feel the financial burden they will think about finding another job to support there family. seeing that the minimum wage is THAT LOW and knowing that it can be increased to help the staff in there future to do whatever the dream career is at least increase it to 16.00 + tips as a start. Your staff is awesome and they are worth it. All in a nut shell i wish i could make a movie or a sitcom about this place and call it " Big Hair" because as i think of this dinner it would be a epic movie or sitcom. I am coming back to eat there everytime. As i sit here writing this review in maryland i want to just drive back to " Boomarang dinner" to eat there again. To the staff you guys made this whole experience the best trip ever and I will never forget you guys. Small town dinner with the greatest people you can ever meet. My email is : CaliRican92@gmail.com. thank you for everything you made my trip

Imagine if you will the small town of Tahlequah having a large clean new Mexican restaurant; Hacienda Vieja. It is nice. The owners' spent a few bucks to build out a large, nicely decorated restaurant, inside and out. Big parking area in the back. I believe it is associated with one of the Oklahoma based Mexican restaurateur cartels, that operate a chain of restaurants you would recognize by name. They advertise as authentic with excursions into TexMex cuisine. Looking at the menu I would say it's basically OkieMex, with some nice upgrades. To find the menu Google, Hacienda Vieja, then click on the "Order on Line." That will take you to a useable version of the menu. The lunch menu is a deal! My wife went with the Sophia Special; two spinach enchiladas covered with red enchilada sauce and cheese sauce, served with rice and beans. The filling for the enchiladas was delicious. A mixture of fresh onions and spinach, grilled. The combination of red enchiladas sauce and queso worked well as a tasty covering for the enchiladas. I had the Special Lunch 1. A chili relleno, taco, refried beans and guacamole. Plenty of food, check the picture. Everything was mildly seasoned. A little help from the good salsas was needed. The guacamole was too salty, even for my taste, and a little bland. Let's not forget the chips and salsa and a special dip! The red salsa good and green salsa; an excellent fire roasted jalapeno salsa. It had heat, but mild enough that my wife ate almost as much as I did. Then there is this thing in the appetizer section called NSU Dip. I would describe it as bunch of Mexican food left overs, thrown together as a midnight snack, after getting home from a late night at the bar. Maybe that is its origin, invented by a NSU student. Who knows? It was a conglomeration of chicken, ground beef, beans, Pico de Gallo, jalapeño slices and cheese dip. Surprisingly damn good! The service was very good start to finish. The restaurant has a nice outdoor dining area for those few Oklahoma summer days, when you can stand to be outside. Clean and modern inside! The lunch menu is a bargain. We had two filling meals, an order of NSU dip, chips and good salsa, iced tea and a water. All coming in for a bill of around $27 without a tip. That is a good deal! Try it!

Grab the handrail and carefully walk down the stairs to the canyon floor. At the bottom, looking up to the street level, two thoughts come to mind. One, this would be a great place to eat a burrito during a tornado. And two, canyons are subject to flash flooding, so check the weather before you go down. The most unique restaurant layout that I have ever seen. Behind the counter was a very helpful, friendly young lady that took our order. My wife had her mind set on a burrito with barbacoa. Build it the way you want it. As the giant tortilla slides down the assembly line, point and holler what you want in it. Many options, and they are very generous with the portions. I'm not sure what all she selected, but the baby had grown unmanageable. No longer a hand-held meal. Get a fork and knife. Delivered to the counter, a healthy new born sized burrito, swaddled in brown paper and resting comfortably in a burrito bassinet. Check the pictures. I have not had nachos in a long time. Which meat? The young lady gave me a sample of the birria. Excellent, but I chose to go with the barbacoa. The nacho boat floated down the same assembly line until it was filled to an unsafe capacity of my choices, and then covered with their hottest salsa. Pick a table, park the food, hit the soda dispenser, grab forks and napkins and let the feast begin. Great food, friendly service, gut bustin' portions, at Rafa's Burrito Canyon PS.
