This was my first visit to The Branch and it was a great experience. We arrived prior to Happy Hour and we ordered the shrimp cocktail, large charcuterie board, and fried mushrooms, along with the blackberry martini and mimosa. Our waiter was very charismatic and was the epitome of patience answering my multitude of questions. The view was gorgeous and you can see the back of the NSU campus from the back glass walled patio. It's really unfortunate that we weren't going to come to this restaurant because of the last two reviews. Yet we did and I'm so glad we did. The Branch makes us want to move here. Of course we wouldn't move for a restaurant. However, we got a taste of what the town is at The Branch. It's funky, friendly, kind, fun, interesting, eclectic, I could go on. 1hour 15 minute wait for the surf and turf. We arrived at 8:20 past the rush. The wait made no sense to us since by the time we got our food, took 15 minutes to eat it, there only 2 tables left in the entire place. This was an unpleasant $60 meal after a tiring 5 drive. My fried mushrooms were clearly made in old oil and burnt. Otherwise the S&T was just ok. Sides arrived well after our meal, and our meals were not even served simultaneously. I don't know if it's even worth leaving a review, but what the hell. My family and I went there last night. We didn't order big complicated meals, simple stuff, chicken nuggets, a club sandwich, a chicken sandwich, and a mushroom Swiss burger. We waited an hour to get our appetizer fried cheese sticks. The waitress told us the kitchen was backed up with a large table that looked like a table of eight. The waitress said that it would be at least another hour for our food, like the kitchen hadn't even started our order yet. We decided to leave without eating it wasn't worth the wait. Had we looked at the reviews on yelp we would have gone some other place to eat. Ended up eating at Chili's would highly recommend eating their great service and good food, skip the wait at a completely unprofessional place like, The Branch. read more

Came to this place while on vacation, and the food wasn't horrible. The server took a while to bring my card back after i gave it to pay, and I didn't think anything of it then because they were busy. However, the problem is the day after I paid for my groups food here, I was getting fraudulent charges to my credit card (5 total). This was the only place my card had been used in Oklahoma and in over a week. I went and filed a police report that night, and the following day, went to the restaurant to speak to the manager about it because that was the last place my card had been used at in over a week. The manager showed zero concern, and got very defensive about what I was telling him and was saying I was lying. The way he responded and acted about the situation only made it that much more suspicious that the server could've written my credit card numbers down and used it. If you chose to eat here, I would be very wary & not used a credit card to pay for your meal. read more

The restaurant is supposed to be under new management. We pulled up in the parking lot and there was the New manager and two cooks smoking out in the parking lot. Not much of a good impression. We sat in the bar as we usually do, and waited, and waited. The bartender came over and asked if we knew what we wanted. We knew we wanted cocktails, but we weren't sure what we were going to eat. We waited for the menus to arrive, and we waited and we waited. My husband went to get a menu himself, and the bartender said She would Get us a menu. So we waited more time for a menu to just be placed on top of the bar for us to have to get up and get!! Are you kidding? My husband got up once already to get a menu and he sat back down, and then Instead of bringing the menu to our table, we had to get back up and fetch it from the top of the bar! When we finally did order, my vegetable plate came to the table cold and tasted like the bottom of the freezer-- no seasoning, just Blah. They brought two salads which we didn't order to our table and argued with us the fact that we did order two salads. There was great discussion in the back about the two salads that we were accused of ordering! They forgot our dipping sauce for our chicken that we had to ask for again. We had to ask for silverware, Which finally arrived to the table way after the food did. They only gave us a half a portion of coleslaw. I think the new management needs to be replaced with new management. Our favorite restaurant has been deteriorating over the past several months with the exit of Many of our favorite staff. We are going to take a break from the Branch for about a month to see if they can get their act together. The owner needs to make surprise appearances there or send someone he knows really well to observe what's going on at his restaurant. The staff needs to stay off the phone, smoke during times when the restaurant isn't busy or not smoke at all especially where everybody can see when they pull in the parking lot! I was in the restaurant business for many years and very forgiving when it comes to slower service, mistakes with ordering, etc. It felt like they were intentionally trying to give us the worst experience ever, it was almost comical! Food/drinks were good & I was with great company, thankfully. They not only got my order wrong (it was never corrected), but the server even said towards the end that "she felt like she had forgotten about us the entire evening." Whatba great surprise! This place has been here forever, but recently got a new chef. After hearing great things about the place from my dad, who is also a foodie, I decided to check the place out for myself. The interior has been totally remodeled and has a very classy feel to the entire decor. In the back dinning room they even have a piano for entertInment. In the same room you can dine while over looking the stream running just below the window, and trust me, nothing is more relaxing than the sound of running water. Also in this room is the bar. Not a rowdy roadhouse looking bar either. I think you have to go Dow the street for that. The entire place requires class. Just out the back door are the stIrs to the upstairs patio. I havent checked it out yet but I will and will post a follow up review. The food was amazing. We were there for lunch. We shared the nachos as an appetizer. They came topped with Havarti cheese, pickled cucumber and smoked jalapeno salsa. For my main course, I had the BLT. But again, this was no run of the meal BLT. The bacon was breaded and fried, chicken fried steak style. It was topped with a yellow tomato, spring greens, a garlic mayo and served on wheat bread. I really enjoy eating at the Branch when I am in Tahlequah. On this particular lunch I had the steak salad and it was delish! The steak was ordered medium and was tender and juicy, perfect on the salad. The greens were fresh and crispy. The others in my party had the french dip and another had a streak. In from out of town for a jr high school tournament. I had asked several people familiar with Tahlequah where to eat. 3 out of 4 recommended The Branch. We raced from Tulsa and beat the map guidance by 10 minutes to arrive at 8:55 PM on Friday night. We have our dog with us, so after letting her out in the parking lot we walked in the restaurant at 9:03PM. Guess what....? That's where my review ends. Because even though the place was full of customers and full tables, we were THREE minutes too late! I asked the host (a nice young man) for an exception. But he came back with a message from management that we could stay, but ONLY if we ordered the special for the day (apparently they had lots of that left). Luckily we walked just a block away to Sam and Ella's where we were treated cheerfully - Even at the late hour of 9:06!! Sorry to have missed out on such a "great" place. read more

To start off there was four of us. My husbands taco and he had a cup of potato soup was good he said. The small cup of soup is what they call a bowl. So don't expect much. But it did taste good. Two of us had the Hot French dip prime rib sandwich. It was good. Lots of meat and good flavor. I had sweet potato fries. They were sprinkled with sugar. Just a personal preference of mine, I would rather have not had the sugar the taste on their own was really good. The last plate was the fish and chips. There was some kind of liquid (maybe water) on the plate. It made the crust of the fish soggy and not very good. So I would not want to reorder that until they fix that problem. The service was just okay. The restaurant was busy and I am sure they were doing their best. But we had to ask for napkins, refill on water and beer and ketchup. The atmosphere was lovely. I enjoyed sitting by the fire place on a cold night. An extra added bonus was live music. All in all I would give 3.5 stars but because of the lack of service and the fish plate I would not give it 4 stars. I hope this place can fix this. The location and atmosphere is great but service is always horrible and slow. I order a vegas steak salad the other day since I was at a going away party. Everyone had gotten their food but me. Finally the waitress said we are out of 5oz steak that comes salad normally and only have 6oz steaks so you will need to pay 3 more dollars. The salad is already a 13 dollar salad. It's very good but I'm not going to be told i have to pay more because the resteraunt is out of 5oz steak. Just rediculous. I then ordered a burger which I got after my party had all finished eating. Servers dressed in shabby street clothes. Our server was too busy socializing to be bothered with serving us, though we were one of only two tables even occupied in this restaurant. As our food finally arrived, we watched as the steak slid right off the plate and on to the floor. So wife works on her salad as they go about the business of preparing another steak. Noticed my 'double' (side) order of asparagus amounted to six (6) spears. Evidently, three (3) spears constitutes a 'side' dish. During the entirety of our dining experience, we were waving flies and gnats off of our food. Before the steak redux even arrived, we informed our server we'd simply like the steak in a 'to go' container, as I we were already done with our dinner. Server informed us we'd be receiving 'a discount' on our bill for the inconvenience. When she brought the $72.00 check and new steak 'to go,' said 'discount' totaled $3.20. (Yes, 4+%) They should have kept their $3.20 and not even mentioned a so-called 'discount,' instead of adding insult to a big dining mistake. As we paid the tab and made our way to the car, we see the cook standing outside smoking a cigarette with the kitchen door wide open ~ which explains the inundation of flies and gnats competing for our food... Our order consisted of two (2) small steaks, two (2) iced teas, a house salad and between our TWO plates, a total of nine (9) Asparagus spears. THIS was $72.00. We make it out of our local upscale Italian Bistro in Tulsa, with appetizer, two (2) entrees, a BOTTLE of wine AND dessert for that price. Not a surprise this place was empty in late afternoon... We're not often in Tahlequah, but the next time we find ourselves famished in that neighborhood, we'll seek out the local McD's before we make this mistake again... read more

We decided to go this restaurant in Tahlequah because it was so beautiful and right by a stream of water. We could sit outside with the patio lights and it was so nice. So ambience= 5 stars. However, it is a restaurant after all (and the food is what counts) so my 2 star review is actually because the food and service were terrible. The order took forever (and it did for other customers next to us too), yet when it came out (with incorrect sides, but at that point we didn't care because we were hungry), it was cold! Baked potato was hard and meat did not taste fresh. Severely overpriced for what we got. Service was poor too. It's a shame because I really wanted to love the place, as it was so beautiful. At the end of the day, I guess I prefer an ugly restaurant with great food, as opposed to a beautiful place with subpar food (which was overpriced and with poor service too). This is a quaint establishment owned by the people who have the branch. They have some great gelato in a hot day. The staff is very congenial. The only down side is that it is not very handicapped accessible. We had a terrible experience. We normally get good service, they had a band playing and since we had a small child, we asked to be move away from the music. Since then, we got horrible service. My First time in downtown TQ since mid 80's. Nice changes! Branch was chosen as post funeral gathering for a group of ten of friends of the departed. For: a) alcohol b) balcony outdoors c) excellent review on French Dip. Service good. Beer cold. Sandwich with deep fried onion rings well worth $11. As a further amenity, the Fire Department led the funeral procession through downtown and gave us an opportunity to raise our glasses at the passing by! read more

The dinner menu was a bit more pricey ranging from $20-$30. I wasn't willing to spend that much without knowing the place. Would probably come back again and try the filet when money permits.
