Grab the handrail and carefully walk down the stairs to the canyon floor. At the bottom, looking up to the street level, two thoughts come to mind. One, this would be a great place to eat a burrito during a tornado. And two, canyons are subject to flash flooding, so check the weather before you go down. The most unique restaurant layout that I have ever seen. Behind the counter was a very helpful, friendly young lady that took our order. My wife had her mind set on a burrito with barbacoa. Build it the way you want it. As the giant tortilla slides down the assembly line, point and holler what you want in it. Many options, and they are very generous with the portions. I'm not sure what all she selected, but the baby had grown unmanageable. No longer a hand-held meal. Get a fork and knife. Delivered to the counter, a healthy new born sized burrito, swaddled in brown paper and resting comfortably in a burrito bassinet. Check the pictures. I have not had nachos in a long time. Which meat? The young lady gave me a sample of the birria. Excellent, but I chose to go with the barbacoa. The nacho boat floated down the same assembly line until it was filled to an unsafe capacity of my choices, and then covered with their hottest salsa. Pick a table, park the food, hit the soda dispenser, grab forks and napkins and let the feast begin. Great food, friendly service, gut bustin' portions, at Rafa's Burrito Canyon PS. What appears to be black and brown smoke streaks and stains, cover the entire ceiling. Seat yourself. The next thing you notice is that your table and every table in the restaurant matches the ceiling. This was not the result of an unfortunate tragic accident; this was purposely done. How this aboriginal work of art came about is known only to the artist. But I speculate that it was born from the collaborative effort of a few good friends, a Friday night, a bargain buy of miss tinted or abandoned clearance sale paint from Lowes, and several cases of Natty Light. And at 2:30am on Saturday morning, a brilliant decision was made, "Hey we still have some beer and paint left over, let's do the tables too!" The restaurant is clean. Small town diner ambiance. The service is fast, attentive and friendly. My usual. +1 point for the gravy which had actual crumbles of sausage and yes, a good homemade biscuit. Eggs and bacon cooked to order. I asked for crisp bacon and I got it. Another 5 seconds in the fryer and it would have been flaming. They have what they call "German Potatoes" that can be substituted for hash browns. German Potatoes would not be my preferred choice, but I decided to try them. Skillet or flat-top fried potato cubes with green pepper and onion. Tasty! Not bad! This is a real American diner, that still serves 3 slices of bacon!

Apparently, the restaurant opened in October 2025. It is a big building. Inside unmistakably a restaurant in its previous life. Clean, but worn. A few of the booths and chair's upholstery are scuffed through in places, exposing the underlying whiskers of thread. The padding in several booths had succumbed to the gravitational forces of previous hefty, "all you can eat catfish" customers. A little remodeling maybe? Looks like new flooring and paint. A bright comfortable interior. Chips and salsa come with the meal. Be sure to order the salsa picosa. There is a $2 charge for it. It is worth it. The food is lightly seasoned. You will appreciate the heat with your meal. The menu is big. My wife found the biggest meal on the menu, The Tiger Plate; e. in the combo section. A tamale, cheese enchilada, bean chalupa, beef taco with rice and beans. To celebrate her recent gallbladder surgery, she had the tamale and enchilada smothered in queso! A large, excellent sampling of the restaurant's food. A super burrito for me. Stuffed with steak, covered with red sauce. A dab of guacamole and sour cream on the side. It came with a generous helping of rice and tasty refried beans. Two delicious meals and very good service. Another good Mexican food option in Muskogee. But it was just hardly seasoned chicken inside. No peppers or onions. Rice and beans were fine. White queso and salsa were fine. It's just nothing to write home about. They could use some hot sauce on the tables for sure. If they plan to stand out in a town with loads of other very delicious Mexican restaurants, I think they'll need to step up the flavor.

Multiple daily specials and menu staples combine to offer something for everyone. Servers are energetic and very friendly, making sure each patron feels appreciated. The buffalo chicken sandwich, a recent daily offering, was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. Fried in a light, crispy coating and topped with blue cheese crumbles on a real brioche bun the 8oz chicken breast was juicy and succulent. Fries wee fresh cut and abundant! My wife really enjoyed her Ruben sandwich on marbled rye. The strawberry walnut salad was outstanding as well. The bottom line is having a professional chef behind the menu and kitchen prep is a departure from the typical "head cook" of most small restaurants and it shows in every dimension.
