I was invited out for dinner by a friend from church, no special occasion, just fir fun. It was packed and every was dressed pretty down to earth. I was surprised and everyone was laughing and having a great time with their meals and drinks. I ordered the Tomahawk Steak medium well. IT WAS FANTASTIC. Me being here for a month in this town I am noticing that there are mainly two popular steakhouses or chop houses if I may. The other beginning with a C with Hit and Miss service and then you have here which most of my visits as well as my co-workers have always had nothing but raving talkatives about this establishment. The ambience is wonderful and here is where you want to take a date. From the almost Edison type lights that are on top to the brick wall with a nice historical accent and the ceiling tile of decorative nature. I've tried the hamburger here as well as well as the eggs benedict and they have been on spot. The hamburger is not fried on the grill you can actually taste the charness on it from a grill and the yolks on the egg to Benedict is not overcooked it has that nice runny yolk that we all like and a buttery dream hollandaise sauce that's hard to beat. Price is medium to medium high but look at the ambience of this place you will not get too much of that in this small town enjoy it while you are here. Parking might be a little challenging at peak times because you are parking on the street. When you are tired of the mediocre to bad service as well as the food at the other Steakhouse come over here and find yourself not being disappointed. After much anticipation we tried the newest Muskogee dining spot. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting with a nod to the historical building's vibe. Our waitress Megan was awesome and friendly. The mozzarella stick appetizer was surprisingly flavorful and fresh. The 8oz filet was cooked well and not over seasoned. The hit was the Mac and cheese, though. It was gooey and delicious. I finally got to check this spot out after a friend snagged a lunch reservation for our whole friend group! I've heard nothing but great reviews from friends and community members, and I fully agree. The hype is worth it. It's beautiful inside. They've done a splendid job with the history of the building. Our group of 8 started with drinks, and my spicy Bloody Mary was perfect. Our server was fantastic, and she was the one making our drinks too. They don't have appetizers on the lunch menu, which was interesting. But you don't miss them once your food comes out. Portions are great. I got the calf fries! They came with cocktail sauce, which is interesting. It came with a garden salad and 1 side. I got the Mac & cheese, and it's insanely delicious. It comes out piping hot in a skillet, so it's crusty on top and so creamy. I'll definitely be back many more times for hopefully years to come. They are planning to have weekend brunch soon, and I must try the dinner menu. My only criticisms are: wait time for food (not service) was quite long and they weren't too busy. I'd love to see at least some appetizers on the lunch menu. And my bread pudding dessert was fantastic, but a little bit of homemade whip cream on top would have just elevated it even more. read more

We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon due to the previous yelp reviews. Watson's apparently owns a meat market too and the food reflects it. We ordered two burgers with fries for lunch. Everything came out hot and tasted amazing. We had a mushroom Swiss burger and a mushroom Swiss patty melt with fries. The fries are hand cut and "twice fried" for lack of a better term. Our only regret is that we wish we'd ordered the fries and a different side because the serving of fries is so big. We got beignets for dessert, and were not disappointed. Grace, our server did an amazing job (offered to box our leftovers) and the place was clean. Also of note, we were there on a Sunday and both the brunch and lunchtime menu were available at 1:30. Additionally the music level was perfect and the selection was appropriate for the restaurant. We will definitely be back. read more

I took my wife to this establishment for her 40th birthday and we were joined by some friends and family. I had let them know ahead of time of the celebration and again when we arrived. In the middle of dinner and drinks my wife ordered another glass of wine. A few moments later the waitress returned and asked my wife if she was driving. Seeing that my wife was taken back by the question I answered that I was driving and again informed her it was my wife's 40th birthday. The waitress continues to ask my wife which made her feel as she was doing something wrong causing my wife to cry and have to retreat to the ladies room. I have eaten at nice establishments across the country and have never seen anyone be treated the way my wife was. In all it was a $300 dinner for my wife and I that ruined what should have been a night of fun and celebration. We will not be returning. read more

The hubby and I had to wait until Wednesday to be able to try this(they weren't open on Monday which was my 49th birthday, when we originally wanted to try it). So on Wednesday while out running errands, we placed an order to go with the host stand over the phone. We took the time to hop online and from their website figure out what we wanted. While my husband was getting gas at the local gas station, we finalized our order and called it in. I ended up getting the honey mustard grilled peach salad with chicken( which I thought would be fresh grilled peaches, not canned. I also expected more of a honey flavor with the honey mustard, not bulk savory. The chicken thought was great. I had never had butter lettuce in a salad, it was interesting- I could see it as a lettuce cup dish and for the salad, I could see it done with spinach), I also got a side of their mac n cheese, which my husband had for lunch the next day(the hubby and I both agreed the onions killed the dish), but the actual mac n cheese was good. Next part of the order included a portion of bread pudding(which when asked, the host could not tell my if it included coconut or not), thankfully, I found out it did not(it was apples, which was fabulous, but it could have used a side of sauce to put over the top). We were excited to have a steak house open up near us. Watson's takes reservations, which we were unable to get, but they opened up a few walk-in spots. We went on Sunday evening with the hopes of getting a table. We got lucky as they had some folks cancel so we got right in and seated. The ambiance and atmosphere is very nice. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgeable. The owner even came by a few times to check on us. We were a party of four. My wife had the filet mignon which was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. She also had the Brussel sprouts and loaded potatoes. Excellent. I had the 12 ounce sirloin cooked medium rare along with scallops, house salad and asparagus. It was all very good. I ordered a shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. It was good (not the best but still delicious.). Our friends had the bacon wrapped filet mignon along with the lobster cream sauce, a huge wedge salad and loaded potatoes. Cooked to perfection and delicious. He also had a smoked old fashioned which he said was great as well. His wife ordered the picanha. She raved about how good it was. I was so excited to finally get to try Watson's after hearing so much hype! This is the premiere fine dining location in Muskogee! The first thing I love about Watson's is their attention to detail and reverence for the building's past. The interior was beautifully renovated! During the renovation, part of the original tile work from George's was uncovered and was framed into the new flooring. There are several historical photos and newspaper clippings for patrons to learn and appreciate the building's tale. The lunch menu is extensive and our service was great for a table of 8! I started out with a garden salad with ranch. The dressing is house made and very creamy. The salad was very fresh! For my main dish I had the 12 oz. New York Strip with asparagus. The steak was cooked to perfection and had that hard to get crust while being tender and juicy. It was also seasoned just right. The asparagus was tender with a slight char. For dessert we shared the bread pudding. It was moist, delicious, and not too soggy. Don't expect to be in a hurry eating here for lunch. The service is great but the food takes time (worth the wait)! Watson's is an experience, not an in-and-out lunch/dinner spot. I definitely want to go back for dinner and update my review. The first thing I wanna say is that I really want our local business ventures to succeed. With that said... I must be honest about our first experience at Watson's chophouse on third. To overshadow everything... I do need to say that Megan our server was absolutely incredible even after a very difficult day where we found out she had worked almost 12 hours on New Year's Eve day. Now to the review. We arrived 30 minutes early for our 8 PM reservation with hopes of being able to listen to a cellist that had been advertised on Facebook for New Year's Eve. He was to be there until about 8:30. When we arrived, the cellist was not there. Really... No big deal. We asked the maître D if we could sit at the bar while we waited for our reservation and he said that he would have to clear off a couple of spots at the bar then we could. Well, he was so busy clearing tables instead of being able to check people in and take care of the needs of people upfront that that never happened and someone walked in talked to the bartender and they went up and took our seats. Again... Not a dealbreaker. We waited until 8:30 before we were seated, and during that time, the restaurant had about a third of the tables empty. The line was out the door and people were getting a little contentious. We hardly saw the maître D and was unable to ask him questions because he was bussing tables which I believe should've been someone else's job. I realize people call in on special days like that because they don't want to work and possibly that's what happened because they were obviously shorthanded. The place seemed to be in utter confusion amongst the staff. I would have expected someone who seemed to be the owner or manager to come out and take control and that never happened. No one seemed to be in control. We were never approached the entire evening at our table by a manager or anyone that even resembled one. Now onto the experience at the table. As I said before... Megan was incredible and was running her legs off. We started off with an iced tea and an old-fashioned which by the way was one of the best old fashions I've ever had. She made sure we had plenty of bread, etc. while we waited for our food. We had ordered shrimp cocktail, which we never got, and when I kindly told her not to worry about it when our food was brought to the table, I think she threw herself under the bus by saying that she had forgotten to turn the order in. I think that screwup was in the kitchen. Listen folks... We're not picky people, but when I go into a place and I'm paying $90 for a steak I really think there should be perfection all the way around. The baked potatoes were very good, but I think the asparagus was overcooked and charred to the point where they tasted burnt. The star of the show which was a $90 porterhouse table steak was a complete disappointment. We love our steaks, medium rare. A medium rare steak should have a little bit of juice and blood on the plate. This was not the case with this one. It was medium to the point of almost medium well. The only reason we didn't send it back was our server had been running her legs off and we were not about to do that to her 30 minutes after they were supposed to be closed. So... We didn't say anything. I just think there should've been someone in charge and it just didn't seem like that was the case at least out in the dining area. Again... If you are understaffed in a restaurant that small, especially on a holiday night, it should be obvious that someone in charge is jumping in to fill the gap and we did not see that. Sorry guys, but we'll probably not be back. I just don't have a lot of grace when I pay $90 for a steak and have that kind of experience. Texas de Brazil and Bull In The Alley will continue to be our go to's. Really disappointed cause I thought we would be able to get a really good steak at home. read more

Wow just WOW! This is just what Muskogee needed! I tried to make reservations for dinner but on day one it was booked for the next month. But I was able to make lunch reservations for today and it did not disappoint! We ordered a little of everything so let me share my favorites.........EVERYTHING! I started with a cup of lobster bisque. It was delicious and full of lobster meat. My friend got the French onion soup that was also amazing. I would have left happy had I stopped there but then I would have missed the picanha kabob. Grilled to perfection and melts in your mouth tender! Hubby got a ribeye sandwich that was filled with marinated perfectly cooked slices of ribeye steak. I only had one bite because that's all he would share and it was so good! I had a 6oz filet that did not disappoint with a side of asparagus. This was tender and juicy cooked medium perfect. A friend had mac and cheese that was delish too but the mashed potatoes came out in a cast iron skillet smothered in a heavenly amount of butter and stole the side show! The quesadilla my friend got looked wonderful but I was so in love with my steak I didn't try it but they were pleased not to have to share. We should have left stuffed to the brim with all the goodness but we didn't. We ordered and shared the Bread pudding served in a cast iron skillet with the most awesome sauce of all the awesome sauces. The ambiance was very elegant and classy like something you'd find in an upscale New York City steakhouse. The star of the decor was the bar or was it the cozy booths or maybe it was the leather chairs at the tables . It is just a delight for the eyes. It feels elegant but homey all at the same time. The drink options were top notch and the staff were attentive, polite, dressed professionally and clean. Our hostess greeted us and took us to our table where our drink order was taken right away. The general manager greeted us and made recommendations and came back as we finished up to ask about our experience. The owners were also on site making sure everyone was greeted and receiving top notch service. Came in early to have a drink at the bar before our reservation. We were moved from the bar to our table to be seated as they needed the extra bar seats. This was a good thing since it was before our reservation and we were told we could be waited on even though we were early. We came for a birthday celebration but things went down hill from there. With just a few drinks in we were not treated very well even after we explained it was a birthday celebration and who the DDs were for the night. No one was loud, wild, or drunk. Matter of fact another table had someone throwing up in the restroom but we were questioned multiple times on who was driving and ordering more drinks. It was a very disappointing experience and our group of 8 will not be back sadly. We are a group of school teachers, coaches, an rn, and a respiratory therapist so being out of hand was not an option. It was a simple dinner out as parents with a woman trying to enjoy a very rare occasion of a kid free dinner for her birthday and we were treated very badly. I can understand confusion on someone being sick, drunk, or acting out of hand but that was not the case with anyone at our table. We ended up leaving early because of this treatment. read more

Excellent food! My filet mignon was tender and juicy, perfectly cooked, and not overly seasoned which allowed the beef flavor to come through. A pet peeve of mine. The macaroni and cheese as a side was a nice change from a baked potato that has been sitting in a steam table far too long! What can I say about a lettuce wedge? It was cold, crisp, and fresh. Hard to beat for me! Cherry tomatoes, grated carrots, and mystery vegetables with mystery dressing leaves me grasping for words like. Our waitress was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. I'm not one to leave negative reviews because I want locally owned family businesses to succeed but my family and I were very disappointed with our first experience at Watsons. We made reservations for a party of 16 and our tables were ready when we arrived which was great. We were a little disappointed because they had us all sitting apart but we asked if we could move a few tables together and they accommodated us. We waited an hour and a half to get our food. Part of our party received their food and the remainder wasn't served for another 10 minutes. When we are paying the prices Watson charges we prefer to eat our food hot and find it rude to eat when others haven't been served. In the meantime, patrons are being served their food that arrived and ordered after us. The food tasted great when we finally ate. One of our waitresses was rude and very short with us. When we received our check we realized why...our family of 5 (my 2 daughters shared a meal, the 3rd had a baked potato and my husband and I had the steak for two, no appetizers, 3 beverages, and water) was charged more than $50 in gratuity charges for service that was subpar. I guess when you know you are getting gratuity you don't feel the need to be kind or serve your guests well. read more

We went out with another couple in our neighborhood and wanted to have some great food mixed with the right atmosphere. We had eaten here in the past and recommended it to our friends and they said let's try it. We had a fantastic time tonight. The food was wonderful. We had the pork belly, brussel sprouts, lobster ravioli and to start off the meal they were great. From there we had salads and , and the ribeye with fires and Tabouli and each of them hit the mark. I am from San Diego, CA where the food scene is incredible of course! My Dad and I were checking out Muskogee and stumbled upon this newly opened chop house! It was excellent! I made a reservation with ease on their website. I was able to note that I was taking my Dad out to a nice lunch to celebrating something special, his wedding anniversary with my mother. A really nice location. Just big enough. I ordered a Raspberry Lemon Drop Martini to start, it was beautiful and well made! Food was great! I had the Picahna Kabobs. It came with a garden salad and a side. I had the vinaigrette for dressing and asparagus for my side! All dishes were very good! Asparagus was nicely cooked! My Dad has the Mushroom Swiss Grilled Chicken Breast, excellent flavor! We also tried the tabouli, which was a different preparation than I am used to, but has a wonderful flavor as well! They had a nice crowd of people, but the service was still top notch! At the end, they were sweet enough to bring us a sweet treat to celebrate my Dads special day! I really love the atmosphere in the restaurant. The food was great too. The only problem was the service. We waited 40 minutes for our cocktails and about an hour for our food. Some of our food was no longer hot when it finally arrived. When I asked our waitress about the drinks, she was pretty testy and still didn't bring them for another 20 minutes. Excellent restaurant all around. Burgers are thick and flavorful. I had the regular burger and it was perfect. I also had the mushroom swiss with truffle aioli and it blew me away. The sides (fries, brussel sprouts, potato casserole, and mac n cheese) were all perfect. Wedge salad was fresh, cold, and crisp with homemade dressing. It was delicious! The filet was cooked perfectly medium rare and one of the best cuts I've ever had. The Wagyu was like warm butter, taste and tenderness. Could not ask for a better steakhouse in Muskogee. Everything was perfect. side note: These dishes were from four different trips to the restaurant. There are still a lot of items I have yet to try, but not for lack of effort.
