I came in from out of town (grew up near Tahlequah) but man- I live in OKC and I've never paid nearly $20 for a roll of sushi... I thought it was extremely over priced - one roll I got was straight up fishy. I couldn't stomach it. But with the price of the roll you should get soup and salad along with it.... I got the love boat for $70 as it was the most economical option. Typically, rolls here cost $15-18, miso soup a whopping $6 and crab Rangoon $9 for 6 pieces. The food here is solid but the prices are astronomical for Tahlequah. Even if you can afford it, you shouldn't want to and unfortunately we will not be returning and search for more price competitive options read more

Nice Atmosphere with Very Good Food! The lady that seated us, (I assume owner or part of the family) is a hoot to talk to. Really nice lady that obviously enjoys what she is doing. And that friendly take care of the customer attitude was also reflected in the wait staff. Our server (according to the receipt was Canida.) A very nice young lady that did a great job! The décor of the restaurant is new clean and modern. The atmosphere in the restaurant spacious and relaxing. We had the General Tso's and the Kung Pao Beef. Both were ordered medium spicy. I like it hot, so I could have went a little spicier on the General Tso's. I did ask for some Sriracha to kick it up a little. The Generals Tso's was pretty average; lightly batter chunks of chicken thigh meat, in a sweet spicy sauce. It was mixed with a few chunks of red and green bell peppers, onions, and carrots, with a side of fried rice. It was good and a good portion, but the sauce was a little sweet and thick for my preference. But, again it was good! The Kung Pao Beef was good likewise. Lots of vegetables! What really stood out was the beef in this dish. Not typical! It looked like steak that that had been seared and then sliced thin and added to the meal. It was tender and delicious. I've gotten sushi here for the last time (and that's why I go in the first place). I just spent $19 on ONE shrimp tempura roll. It was bad enough when it was $13. I guess I'll do without or buy my sushi at the grocery store. My total was Ive $36 for one sushi roll and an entree with rice. Ridiculous!! read more

Red Moon has a really nice atmosphere. Calm and comfortable, somewhere you can sit back and have a nice chat with a good friend. The food was very savory and delicious. I had the Cashew Chicken, the veggies were crunchy, not over cooked and the chicken tender. My niece had the fried chicken/beef and rice/noodle combo. So if you can't decide which you want, Red Moon gives you a bit of both. The server was gracious and kind. The yummy potstickers and egg rolls tied us over til our entree was ready. Best sushi around! Great quality and variety. The chinese menu is also great. The owners, Hen & Jenny always come over and visit when we are there. Thre full bar has nearly everything you could want. The lechee red lotus is amazing and they carry all 3 varieties of sapporo beer. The cucumber salad, ahi tower, red sea special, and the flaming flamingo are must tries. I appreciate having dining-in options available. The food is always fresh and tastes delicious. The staff always greet with a smile. Current mask requirements are not enforced for customers or staff. Both times I've dined in recently, the servers take orders and deliver food to tables from kitchen all while not wearing a mask. The restaurant seems to follow social distancing guidelines in appropriate table spacing. Overall, highly recommend this tasty spot, even if you're just grabbing dinner to go! read more

I come to Tahlequah on a regular basis for work. There are not a lot of options as compared to some larger cities, but I was surprised to find Red Moon. After reading the reviews, I had to try it out. The owner, Jenny, is super nice. I ended up coming here two days in a row for lunch since it was so good. I had sushi both days, but tried different things. The staff is friendly and I immediately went and told people how great thus place is. When eating lunch here, the lunch rush was over. It was nearby for our next meeting so we went ahead and grabbed a quick bite. The decor was nice and we were greeted upon entering the building. The menu seemed overwhelming since they offer real food and sushi. There are two different menus. I got a bento box and my friend got a fried rice. The portions come out a decent size but the downfall to that is it's not that flavorful. My friends rice was dry and has to have soy sauce added to it. My sushi was more than enough but lacked flavor and pieces were too wide for my mouth in my personal opinion. The service was superb but definitely didn't like how they sat customers on top of each other when the restaurant was empty. read more

I didn't expect much since it's sushi in Tahlequah but this place was not even okay. The sashimi was not cut correctly and some of the fish was starting to turn and not fresh. The crab was fake and still slightly frozen in the middle. Then they over charged me almost $10 because they had new menu prices but hadn't updated their menus. Red Moon has adequate Chinese food. Their sushi is not fresh tasting and has a lot of sweetness, which is kind of weird for sushi. Their curry tastes like microwaveable meals. Definitely stick to the normal American Chinese dishes for ok food like Lo Mein and Generals Chicken type meals. It's also on the high side for price, considering what you get. read more

Sushi is over priced and not good. They cover it in sauces to cover up the fact they don't know how to make a decent sushi roll. I didn't have the Chinese food so I can't speak toward that. There were only a handful of places open for dine-in so we decided to try something neither of us had tried yet and settled on Red Moon. It looks like they have reconfigured their dining room for social distancing (if not, it is a very peculiar setup). The lady at the front desk is so funny! Love her personality. We both ordered an egg roll, I got the five flavor chicken and my friend got the sesame chicken. My five flavor chicken was great! I chose a spice level of 3 and it was just what I wanted - a bit of a kick, but not too spicy. Plenty of vegetables and it came with fried rice! My friend's sesame chicken left a bit to be desired. The menu stated that it had certain vegetables, but it was basically a plate piled high with fried chicken pieces smothered in sesame sauce. Definitely would have preferred more veggies in that dish! The service was good, but nothing special. The dishes were huge! We both took home about half of our entrees. The egg rolls are delicious! Definitely recommend those. Excellent sushi, great drinks! One of our favorites in the Quah! The beef and chicken dishes are good and you can choose the level of spice you want for most any dish. Crab Rangoon are stuffed well and served nice and hot. Fried dumplings are also a big hit with our 6 year old. read more

I was so hoping that this place would be good based on the other reviews. I was sorely disappointed. My first thought is that it was way overpriced for lunch. $9-13 for lunch menu. So I thought, I would try the Tempura shrimp sushi roll for $7. Just horrible, soggy chewy nori, and overcooked rice with no discernible vinegar. I have had better sushi from a grocery store. Husband got kung pao chicken for $9. Comes with soup, hot and sour is terrible, only tastes of vinegar, no spice and no savory stock flavor. MEal comes and there is almost no chicken in it and it is dwarfed by the amount of rice. Huge oversized pieces of veg. And worst the sauce tastes nothing like kung pao, tastes of salad dressing. No spice, no fermented bean sauce, its a no from me. It was so bad I sent it back and refused to pay for it. I have not done that in a long long time. I would rather eat grocery store sushi and frozen chinese food. Save your money. read more

If you are looking for a nice place to enjoy a frosty mug of you favorite beer while you await a nicely prepared louisiana roll or their hot and sour seafood soup, it doesnt get much better. The owner is a sweetheart, very attentive, wonderful lady who loves to engage with her customers and make you feel welcome. I have not had everything on the menu, but it is a goal. The prices are reasonable, happy hour specials from 2 to 5 or 6 make it a little nicer if the rolls they pick are the rolls you want. They have lots of space for handicapped access, they have high chairs for the little ones. The only issue i have ever had is the service. Most servers are local college students and it seems they dont have that sense of urgency most people require these days. But the food, the flavors, the welcome feeling, cant beat it. read more
