I'm 78 years old, and I've eaten Chinese food in more towns than I can remember. My grandson dragged me into Asian Star, and I expected the usual. Boy, was I wrong. The food came out so fast I thought they had a time machine in the kitchen. The orange chicken was so good I almost called my ex-wife to tell her she's been cooking it wrong for 50 years. My family and I love this place. We order every Sunday and the owners know us by name. They always have fresh delicious food and deliver generous portions made to order. Our family loves the Mei fun, the Happy Family, hot and sour soup, and any of their fried rice plates. If you have special diet needs, they are happy to help you. There is currently a burn ban in in effect, across most counties in Oklahoma. That means no open flames. It is probably not even safe to use the kitchen stove. We are not taking any risks. Asian Star! The freshness of the meat and vegetables, consistency in flavors and presentation, and the good service, make this little Chinese restaurant one of my very favorites. Today, Szechwan Chicken, Kung Pao Chicken and Egg Drop soup. Outstanding food at the remarkable lunch special Price of $7.59. It cannot be beat. According to the owner, the families operating the other Asian Star restaurants, scattered around eastern Oklahoma [Pryor, Tahlequah, Tulsa, and Sallisaw] are all related. It is a small local chain. I found this little Chinese place on yelp when looking for a restaurant in Wagoner. When I got there I was the only person in place for about 30 minutes. I ordered the General Tso chicken and I got the dinner portion. It was very good I really enjoyed the meal and the service was very good as well. We go to the lake nearby quite often and I would definitely go back to this restaurant and take my family here to eat. read more

i'm from the bay working in pryor. so glad this shop was here. the server was really nice and chatty and food is good too. got house combo lo mien and Mongolian beef with white rice. portions are good size so it took more than 2 sittings for me. definitely happy they had good asian food out here. its always scary traveling somewhere and trying asian food cause its usually bland flavorless trash. every now and then u get that surprise and bam here you have it. if you are reading this i'm about to go visit your cousin. lol read more

Best Asian food in Wagoner - but only two total. All dishes are about the same items remixed. Much is pre-pared, but better than buffet. Quick seating and frequent check for other needs. Hard to find. Our GPS put us way off. This is the orange building in the same lot as Wal-Mart. There is another Chinese place next to Wal-Mart but it is a buffet and not Asian Star. As Asian food goes, this is probably the best in wagoner. It's well priced, good food. Above average for the area and easy to find location. The general tsos chicken was good and not overdone. My son and I love their General Tso's chicken; my daughters are hooked on the Sesame chicken. Overall, great Chinese food with quality ingredients used and large portions. They make a mean hot and sour soup as well -- we are picky about Chinese food, as we are from California and have had the authentic stuff. This definitely passes the test! Avoid the horrible buffet in town and stick to Asian Star; they are without a doubt, the best in Wagoner! I can also recommend the roast pork with Chinese vegetables if you aren't into the spicier food -- it is succulent! What I like about Asian Star is that they will flavor your dish as you request -- I love my General Tao's very spicy, so they spice it up 5 times more than is on the menu -- heavenly! An unexpected gem in Wagoner! Decided to try it after reading all the great reviews and Asian Star did not disappoint. They happily accommodated the vegetarians in the group. My husband and daughter ordered wonton soup and the wontons looked to be homemade. They raved about them! We often struggle to find non-chain dining while vacationing at lake Ft Gibson. Asian Star will now be part of trips to the lake. In fact, since it is an easy drive from Tulsa, just driving up to escape the endless Chinese buffets would not be out of the question. read more
