The lady outside, said that diehard as a Christmas movie... and the food was great (so I heard)

Honestly, the best meal we have had since we can remember!!! Highly recommend!!! The burrata was special, the lobster dish was over the top and the aged NY strip was perfect. Thank you chef Michael for a wonderful evening! read more

Can't wait to come back to this restaurant! I can't believe we live down the street and it took us this long to try this place out. We decided to keep it low key and stay in the neighborhood to celebrate our anniversary and chose this place because I wanted something new. We love our neighbors and felt like we haven't seen them for quite a while so we asked them to join us. Plus, they were the ones that recommended this restaurant to us before. Brian and I started off with the goat cheese and charred tomato fondue. It was yummy but I think I'll have to try some other appetizers next time - like the crab cake special if it's still around. Bummed I didn't get it because I love crab cakes! For my entree, I got the special - some sort of monkfish with saffron risotto? It was absolutely delicious! Brian got the short rib entree and said he really enjoyed it as well. I wish I had a picture of his dish. One of the neighbors ordered the kitchen sink burger and a side salad instead of fries. The salad looked mighty yummy. For dessert, they had a Girl Scouts cookie item on the menu. It was a Samoa cookie pecan pie covered with berries and drizzled with some berry syrup. Hopefully, I can convince him to bring me here for Valentine's Day because there are so many things I want to try! read more

While the service was very slow to begin, and while we waited for our food, a good 25 minutes, our breakfast the short rib hash was fantastic ! The Downer was the orange juice, which for six dollars a glass, should have been freshly squeezed, and not come out of a bottle! Yes, Rusconi's,you can do much better especially considering that your competition right next door to you freshly squeezes their orange juice ! read more

Excellent service and food! Our first visit here was wonderful! Our server was Rex, and he took great care of us, very knowledgeable and super pleasant. I really enjoyed my roasted chicken salad, so fresh and delicious with white balsamic vinaigrette, and I tried a side of their grits with Mascarpone cheese. My kids loved the pork tenderloin with wine reduction and fingerling potatoes, and short ribs with grits, and the wonderful beef medallions with mac cheese. For dessert we loved the dark chocolate bread pudding, and the caramel apple ice cream. The restaurant was quiet enough for us to hear, and great food and service. So good that we flagged down the manager to praise them. read more

Rusconi's American Kitchen - Roasted chicken salad with white balsamic vinaigrette, side of grits with Mascarpone cheese. - American Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

We just had the most fantastic meal at Rusconi's! The pork belly appetizer was divine! The heirloom tomato featured salad and the goat cheese fritter salad were excellent. The scallops and beef tenderloin entrees were wonderful! Everything was beautifully plated and wonderfully seasoned. I tried the featured martini and it was very tasty. My husband had the Grand Canyon Ale, and I had the Banfi Pinot Grigio wine with dinner, we enjoyed both and they paired nicely with our meals. We finished with the chocolate bread pudding a la mode- fabulous! To top this off, we had fabulous service from Curtis W. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, very clean, and has a reasonable noise level-it was easy to have a pleasant conversation while dining. I highly recommend this restaurant! We will return! read more

2 of us went for NYE, from out of town. The food was fantastic- no denying that. That said, there was a limited menu, and honestly not a lot of tables seated while we were there. But yet, the service was disappointing. For what the price was per person (plus drinks), a limited menu, etc...I'd expect more contact with the waitperson. Kind of a lot of $$ for a strip mall restaurant with minimal service. read more

In a world of not very good restaurants, one might think it's easy to get 5 stars. The food doesn't even need to wow, it needs to be great quality, well executed with good service at reasonable prices and achieved expeditiously and done consistently. Okay, that's really not that easy especially with today's workforce and operating costs. But Rusconi's is those things. They consistently achieve all the boxes checked. The clientele is a bit older so menu reflects this perhaps but plating is always artfully done and the restaurant exceeds the level of most of those around it. read more

I have only been here for lunch, but it was so good, I'll have to go back for dinner. This is probably my favorite north Phoenix restaurant. I have been here several times. I can't comment on a whole lot of things because every time I go, I order the same thing. Beef short rib sandwich. There are plenty of other things that look really good on the menu and I really should try them, but it's going to be tough. The short rib is perfectly seasoned and super tender, but not mushy. The horseradish adds a nice kick and the arugula balances out the sweetness of the crispy onions. One of my favorite sandwiches. Service has always been good. Parking is easy as it's in a huge strip mall complex. Will be back for dinner sometime. read more

Very pleased with the food quality and quantity with very resonable prices. Had the NY Strip Steak w White Truffle Mac & Cheese and my wife had the Grilled Salmon Blackberry Glazed which both were well prepared. Service was prompt and always met our needs, would have rather sat toward the back then against the front window. Restaurant has good ambiance and is decorated nicely considering it is in a strip mall. Was one of the more enjoyable meals that I have had for sometime. read more

Amazing experience! I went to dinner here on Friday for a girls night and we had a fabulous time! The drunken goat cheese fondue was divine and would 100% order the beef tenderloin medallions again! Our server was so nice and gave us 3 desserts on the house which was so sweet! Definitely will be back! :) read more

Outstanding food and Curtis was great. You have to try a side of Mac and Cheese. We are from out of town and stumbled onto this thinking I had made a reservation. They were very welcoming even without. Thank you Heather. read more

I can't believe that I haven't written a review for Rusconi's before. They've been around for a few years now. It's an unassuming spot in a strip mall but thank heavens it is an unassuming strip mall close to my house. This is my go-to spot. Honestly, there isn't anything that I don't like. The restaurant is well run. My table is ready when I get there. Service is friendly and attentive and smart - the servers know the menu and know the bar and are very willing to help me pair wines or select the best appetizer. The food is beautiful. I don't just mean that it tastes good - it does. But they have a mis en place station where they dress each place and do QC before serving. It's fun to watch and they are attentive to detail. I've had mussels and scallops many times and my husband usually goes for the osso bucco. Split a few things so that you can sample the menu and do ask for one of their signature cocktails. I'm a fan of their spicy margarita. So glad this place is in my path. read more

Communication! Made brunch reservations for Mother's Day and found out, once there, that they weren't serving their brunch menu but their MD prix fixe menu. You really should communicate that on your web site, on the menu, and on Open Table. Very disappointing. At $69 for their three course offering, it wasn't a good experience or value. Especially when you plan on the regular brunch menu. read more

Consistent. Authentic. Friendly professional and comfortable. Great for all occasions and a class act team of people.

Everything excellent from the moment you arrive. Food service and atmosphere are top notch.

I had a great lunch here with my mom! She had actually already eaten, so she tried the soup. Delicious! I had a salad that was very fresh and tasty. The waiter was attentive. Great experience! Can't wait to go back. read more

We've eaten here at least 3 times in the past few years. Last night we took friends and it was a big disappointment. Service was prompt and efficient but the food, which has always been excellent, was just plain boring. English pea risotto was a bland green mush--no texture and no discernable flavor. It was, at least, beautifully presented with colorful and perfectly cooked vegetables on top. My husband ordered a well prepared roast chicken, but the accompanying bread pudding was dry and lacking flavor. Asparagus soup was fine, but lacking any zest. One friend had a meat dish that was overly salty. Nothing terrible, but just not what we have come to expect after previous visits. Sorry, we will not be returning soon. read more

We went to dinner with no reservation. We settled on outdoor seating because they said we would be able to be seated right away. Another couple walked in with no reservation and got sat inside immediately because the manager was at the stand. Apparently immediate seating inside was available like we originally asked for?! We waited 10 minutes for outside. Not bad but the hostess's communication is frustrating. We had a tall older gentleman as our waiter. We ordered our drinks. We went to order an appetizer he said to wait and order all at once and he will portion out our meals, that's fine but it ended up taking 45 minutes just to get our appetizer! A table next to us, who got there after us, already had an appetizer and were on their entree. Throughout the dinner our waiter never checked on us, let alone even refill our drinks. We finally get our entree, we both ordered the same thing and both came out cold. Our waiter didn't serve us our appetizer or entree, and never checked on us. We were over it at this point and just wanted to leave. Seems that we were just flat out ignored because he had to pass us multiple times to serve all his other tables! Annoying that our tip doesn't go to the other staff that actually served us!! I've always liked Rusconi's but I have noticed the service is very hit or miss. read more

This is my go to restaurant when I want a great meal. Everything that I have eaten there has been amazing. They pay attention to the details. The side of Mac & cheese is sublime. My brother and his wife were visiting from out of town and thought this would be a good choice that, while very popular, is still somewhat unknown even among locals who've lived in Phoenix for 25 years! The burgers are always a good choice, and come with a generous portion of fries cooked perfectly. My brother had the salmon which was superb, and even the Brussel Sprouts were great!. We topped it off with an ice cream/sorbet trio which was divine. The service here is consistently about perfect, and Management here is EXCELLENT. If a problem should ever arise, they understand how to resolve and take take care of the customers as few establishments do throughout the country. I highly recommend this great, locally owned and independent restaurant. read more

I was a bit torn here between three and four stars but ultimately the service made me lean to the three instead of four. We arrived on Saturday around 630 and I expected it to be very busy so when were told they only had bar or patio seating that was totally expected and not an issue. We chose patio and it was nice outside so no issue there. One of the more peculiar things I have seen recently is the family to the side of us had one of the family members eating a dish from the restaurant and the the other two had gone to Panda Express next door and brought food back to the table with them. Not exactly a glowing endorsement. I went with the short rib and while the short rib itself was good and it had grits which were decent and horrifically burnt brussel sprouts, the portion sizes here were meager at best for me at least. It felt like a lunch portion for dinner and I said to the person I was with that if I didn't get a side of fries I would have been very upset. The fact that my $9 order of fries was more filling than the entree was a bit of a put off. The service wasn't awesome. It felt like because we were on the patio we were a burden and the server acted a but put out so that wasn't a great feeling. Overall I personally won't be back but it isn't a bad meal. I just believe for the price points there should be more. It felt like a mid range restaurant trying to masquerade as a high end dining experience. read more

WOW! Truly a gem! We were visiting from San Francisco & found Rusconi's on Open Table. They are doing a great job with social distancing and their capacity is lower so happy we snagged a table. We had a few AMAZING craft cocktails, the deviled eggs, the salmon, the beef medallions and the banana cheesecake. The favors of all the dishes were fantastic. The service was very good as well. Definitely will visit again when we're back in the area. read more

What an awesome experience! 1st time but ABSOLUTELY not the last time here. We had made plans to go to a different restaurant for brunch today with the moms, but they were closed due to being under staffed...sorry not sorry. After a long week of working and parenting, I was looking forward to taking my beautiful wife out for a date. Rusconi's proved to be the perfect choice for us to enjoy an evening together with the backdrop of great food and atmosphere. The restaurant is quite popular and busy, but we were able to hear each other well, and the food came out quickly. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was just fantastic--the flavors on the beef tenderloin medallion dish were out of this world! Also the slice of blueberry cheesecake we shared was top notch. Oh man, I love this place! I've eaten here for lunch before and really enjoyed it, but today's brunch was awesome! We had a party of 14, including 4 kids (nightmare of a table). The service was impeccable and the food was fresh and delicious. Food: I ordered the Mediterranean Benedict which has prosciutto and tomatoes served on a thin ciabatta bread. The Benedict was served with a goat cheese hollandaise sauce and balsamic syrup. I'm not a goat cheese fan so substituted for regular hollandaise. The prosciutto was delicious and plentiful. The sauce was not too buttery and had great texture. My husband ordered the steak and eggs which came with filet medallions and raved about. Good kids menu, well priced and nice selection. $5 mimosas and bloody Mary's, both very good. A few us then split the stuff French toast with berries and marscopone cheese. Oh my goodness was that heaven!!! I should have taken a picture, but we all dug in too quickly. Service: Stellar! It's not easy having a party of 14 and kids being included. Super nice waiter and quick to address any needs we had. Also, provided awesome recommendations. Love this place! We will be sure be back for brunch. read more

Chef needs to change menu. Getting old. Same food. Getting boring. Not going there any more. Device is ok

Rusconi never disappoints. We first found this restaurant through Check Please Arizona a couple of years ago, and ever since our first visit have always had an exceptional experience. The food is innovative and delicious, and the service is among the best in the valley. We have tried the majority of the entrees and have yet to find one we don't like, the heirloom tomato salad (once a special and now on the menu) is phenomenal, and the desserts are fantastic. The wine is list is incredible and the cocktails are also unique and quite tasty. This is a gem of a restaurant, and we cannot recommend it enough. read more

When my friends and I went in February 2020, it was mostly an older crowd, likely due to price and location. However, we are old souls and were treating ourselves to a celebration dinner. The food was excellent, with straightforward yet thoughtful combinations of meat and vegetables. I would recommend this place for a nice date, a celebration dinner, or for an adult family dinner. read more

Every meal I've had at Rusconi's has been terrific. We've recently discovered that, since the minimum wage hike raising lunch prices all over, Rusconi's is barely more than the fast food/fast casual places for lunch (like the same cost as Panera Bread, less tip)...and the food and service are orders of magnitude better. Try to sit in Norbert's section - he's a fantastic server and really elevates the dining experience. I'll come back and review selected items later...working my way through the lunch options (but the daily specials are so good I'm not sure how long it will take to work through the standard items!) If you work near Rusconi's, put them on your every-couple-of-weeks lunch rotation. (You can thank me later). read more

If I could give this place a million stars I would. It's tucked away in a shopping center, so I almost missed it. Mannn I'm so glad I didn't . The ambience is upscale but comfortable. It's restaurant week here in Phoenix and Rusconi's had an option for an amazing 3 course dinner. Rex was our server and he was so fun and knowledgeable about the menu. I chose the shrimp and grits for the app, the filet and truffle Mac for the main, and white chocolate raspberry bread putting for dessert. I honestly don't have words for how delicious and perfectly cooked everything was. We chose a bottle of red wine suggested by Rex and didn't regret it. For dessert I had one of the specialty cocktails, upon Rex's suggestion again, that is similar to a French 75 and it was amazing. As we were leaving we were spoken too and thanked by literally every staff member we walked past. It was the end of the evening so I assumed they would be tired and ready to leave, but they were all smiles and genuinely thanking us for stopping in. Hands down some of the best food and service I have ever Had and I will 10000% be going back, with ALLL my friends lol. read more

Tonight's meal was a delight. We are very happy to have found this restaurant. They're doing everything right. You know that because it was packed on a Wednesday. My husband's beef medallions were cooked perfectly, the sides were very flavorful and our other guest's scallop dish was perfect. Large scallops, perfectly grilled. The dish was to have been served with polenta, but a request for Brussels sprouts was accommodated very gracefully and without question. I ordered watermelon cold soup to start. It was fantastic. If there was a small "miss" with our meal it was the octopus. It was not my favorite presentation but it was flavorful. I've never ordered the dish knowing it had meat in it and probably would not have ordered it if I'd been paying attention. It was flavorful-just not to my taste. Service was also perfect. Not intrusive but very friendly. Every need was anticipated and the servers worked as a fluid team. To end our meal we had some ice cream and shared the crème brûlée dessert. Very silky and rich. We will definitely be back. This is probably one of the friendliest and most well run restaurants we've been to in the Valley since we moved here a year ago. The prices are very fair for the portion sizes and quality. Check it out! You'll be happy you did! read more
