Artisanal diner food, frequented by locals. Corned beef hash was perhaps the best I've ever had, even in 5-diamond hotels. The huevos rancheros was served atop a sort of Mexican/French ratatouille that was remarkable. Sausage gravy would have made any southern mama proud, peppery and flavorful with hunks of meat. Biscuits need some work, though, more rubbery than flaky, might be because they were tossed in the microwave. Every server we encountered was friendly and on their game, but Elliot specifically made our meal at the bar special. We are returning for breakfast tomorrow! read more

The food was very good, we got great fast service and everyone was friendly. However if you are looking for "true" huevos rancheros, this is not the place. As I said it was good but it is served with a green chili red salsa. My 96 year old dad, after we left the restaurant said "that was pretty good whatever it was but it was not huevos rancheros" I will probably try it again I watched other plates coming out and they looked pretty good. This place is UNLIKE ANY PLACE I'VE BEEN BEFORE!! I had Eggs Benedict and Gouda grits, both were so delicious and the presentation was absolutely beautiful! Besides the food, the staff was beyond wonderful! Attentive but not hovering. The entire staff and fellow patrons were very happy. To be in an eatery like this nowadays, sadly, is not the norm. On a very personal note, I forgot my phone there and didn't realized it until about three hours away. I called the restaurant and spoke with Cinnamon who immediately offered to ship it back to me so that I wouldn't have to make a seven hour round-trip drive to pick it up. Who does that?! We stopped here for breakfast while staying in Durango. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The menu was great, something for everyone. My husband had the Animas breakfast and I had the Eggs Benedict which was amazing. Coffee was great too. The visit started off rough as the young pierced unfriendly hostess was quite rude and abruot.
