Runners Hi in Aiea on Kamehameha Hwy is a great place to go to if you're looking for running ‍shoes. Huge selection of shoes, insoles accessories, and everything you need if you're a avid runner. Service was very friendly and helpful that I went in looking for pickaball shoes which they don't carry being a running shoe store but we actually walked out with 3 pairs of walking shoes dued to great deals! Thank you to Keone who was our sales person that serviced us who also helped us with additional discount that was so awesome . Thank you Runners Hi for our great purchases!

Popped in the other day for a pair of trail shoes. Macklin, the owner's son was able to assist me, having me try on about 6 different pair from men's to women's after checking my foot size. When I said, no to a pair, he said he's clear them away so I could make a uncluttered choice. I narrowed it down, walked in the shoes around the store and left with a smile on my face. I warmed up by taking a 4.5 mile walk around Diamond Head and into Waikiki making sure their comfort was what I felt in Runner's Hi. Sure enough, they felt like a bedroom slipper with support. My foot had no sores or rubs anywhere. SUPER HAPPY. This morning the shoes took me up to the late pillbox above Lanikai and they were marvelous. No slipping, even with mud on the trail from the night before and I'm not that avid of a hiker. Thanks to Runner's Hi and their acumen with shoes, I am a happy hiker and look forward to more in the future. Yes, I have also purchased shoes from them over the years and wouldn't choose to go anywhere else. They know their stuff. Raymond Woo, the owner has been a runner for decades and well-known in the community... a perfect place to shop from experts.

To start off, Runners Hi shares their store with a kayak shop, but there's plenty of parking. Anyway, my friend said she bought her marathon shoes here and that the people were extremely helpful, so I decided to stop by. I needed a pair of shoes for the marathon since I don't think my nikes would last since it's been worn but still useable. Their selection was not as big as I imagined but there is a wide variety of shoes. The girl measured my foot and then asked me what I wore. She brought out nike air zoom Pegasus which would be similar but has more cushion. She also brought two other shoes, but I ended up with the Nike since it's similar and felt comfortable. There's even a treadmill you can use to test run the shoes in! I also ended up buying some energy gels for $1.50 and energy gummies for $2.50. I was expecting to drop over $150 but I'm glad the nikes were only $125. Hopefully when I run in them it will be what she suggested but good customer service. However she didn't seem very enthusiastic but was very helpful and friendly.

I'm always looking for good shoes to support all this goodness and I'm so glad we went to Runners HI the owner measured our feet and then asked about our activities and then broke it down on what shoes is the best! I had to come to reality that it's not about how cute and colorful the shoes are it's about comfort! We ended up getting three pairs of shoes! I'm ready to go walking with comfort!!

I'll admit, the 20% off coupon in the Entertainment Book is the only reason why I came here to buy my next pair of running shoes. I'm a townie, and we have a really great running store in town that is just as fabulous as Runner's HI. But, the townie store doesn't have a 20% off coupon in the Ent. Book. :) The only thing I didn't like about this place is the parking lot. We happened to come here during the lunch rush, and since they share the parking lot with Dixie Grill, virtually every space was taken. We were lucky enough to find someone pulling out during our first circle around the lot, but we had to wait a while because the gal was having a difficult time getting out of the stall because the aisle between the rows of parking are ultra narrow. But as far as the actual store itself goes, it's awesome. They have everything every runner would need, and the staff are running experts so if you don't know what kind of shoe to get, they'll help you. Since I didn't have my current running shoes with me, the sales guy measured my foot and studied my walking gait to determine what kind of shoe would best match my needs. While this store doesn't have the biggest selection as far as brands goes (Nike, Brooks, Mizuno, Saucony, Asics, and maybe one or two others), they should have something that is right for you. They also have a weekly run club that anyone can participate in for free. They run down to Ford Island and back.

I hate to admit this, but the last time I purchased running shoes five years ago & according to le boyfriend that's way past their expiration. Maybe its the reason my knees hurt whenever I run, since the material has deteriorated & I've been too stubborn to buy another pair. We recently took a trip to one of his favorite stores: Runner's HI & he couldn't stop gushing about their amazing customer service, the quality of their products & knowledgeable staff. Lately I've been feeling really BLAH & I know this change in my personality is partially due to my lack of physical activity. Trust me, I can easily name a hundred reasons, why I "can't"exercise & which is why I was surprised myself & invested in a new pair of running shoes. Even though, running shoes easily run a $100, I decided its an investment I'm willing to make toward my health & happiness. I made my way to Runner's HI & was immediately greeted by a friendly employee; I can't believe how in-depth my shopping experience was: 1) They ask you what you intend to use your running shoes for. 2) You walk a few times so the employee has a better understanding of your feet. 3) They offer you a variety of shoes to try + they're extremely knowledgeable & inform you why certain shoes fit your feet better. I really appreciated that the employee who assisted me wasn't irritated, especially since it took twelve different shoes, until I found the perfect shoe soulmate for my feet. Runner's HI gets major brownie points for delivering excellent customer service + I'm hopeful these running shoes & my new attitude will help bring back my cheerful personality. If you're looking for running shoes, athletic apparel & a customized shopping experience, I highly recommend a visit to Runner's HI; you'll learn insight about your feet & walk away with more support (for your feet :)

We came to Step Ahead to look for a foot solution to my problem: heel spurs, achilles tendonitis,…read moreand plantar faciitis. I saw some Hoka shoes on sale at Ross in my size but my husband encouraged me to get my feet looked at by someone before just buying shoes, that way I know what my issues are and how to resolve them. My husband had gone to Step Ahead in the past and got fitted for Oofos, realizing he should have been wearing a size down actually. We walked in, and Patti, the owner, was helping another customer but said she'd be with us as right away. As promised, she hurried over and got to work assessing my feet. I told her my problems, and she took a print of my foot to see where my pressure points were and to measure my arches - this is a service I was hoping for and WOULD NOT get at Ross or the Ultimate Foot Store in Pearl Ridge! She was extremely apologetic for not having any shoes in my size and made that very clear more than once - she didn't try to sell me shoes in another size like another Yelper claimed. I never once got the feeling she was trying to scam me into a shoe that didn't fit. I think she's eager to find a solution that works for folks and also passionate about educating people on why they have aches and pains and how proper footwear and arch alignment can help. She fit me with an orthotic that was shaped to my foot. Was it custom tailored exactly to my foot? No, but it was the right size to support my arch, which I appreciated. When I go to other stores, I have to guess what insert might work for me and probably guess wrong. I appreciated her measuring me and recommending the right solution. I ended up getting the harder, more supportive insert for my shoes at home. She told me that Hokas, etc. are great, but they are essentially just padded shoes. You can put all the padding you want in a shoe, but until you get the right arch support, you aren't going to fix the problem. The telling point for me was when she took the sole out of a Hoka and put the insert in there for me to try on! (It was a size too small for me, but I was able to try it on to try on the insert). I appreciated her honesty, and it put my mind at ease about "getting the perfect shoe." The price for the orthotic was $200 - yes, on the pricey side, but honestly, a pair of Hokas is around that and doesn't provide the arch support I need to fix my problems. Also, they have a 2 year guarantee so if they crack you can come back and she will replace them. But she said they could last a lifetime if you take care of them. To me $200 is much more reasonable that custom made inserts that can run in the thousands and just a bit more than pricey padded gym shoes. My husband also got a pair which she gave us 50% off. She measured his arches too and said the inserts will help with his walk, which currently his feet sort of flare out to the sides when he walks. There was another customer in there too who said he's been wearing his for 5 years and even pulled them out of his boot to show us! He says they really work to alleviate pain. She gave us wearing instructions and talked us through everything else like how many hours to wear on a graduated scale, how long it will take to build up our arch muscles, etc. I am only dinging a star because she has a limited inventory of shoes and slippers and keeps beating herself up about it. I'm sure it's tough to stock all the sizes, but people are hungry for good supportive footwear as well as inserts, so I recommend her stocking up on more sizes. Unfortunately folks just won't want to part with $200 bucks for an insert, even though it's more advantageous, and would rather buy a pair of gym shoes. Overall, I'd come back here for my foot needs. Her personalized service and attentiveness is reallllly hard to find nowadays. The fact that she can run this store for so many years amongst the competition and Amazon, etc. should be a testament that her products really work.
