Passed by this place a few times looking in the window noticing that they have a large selection. Wanted to buy Hoka shoes for my daughter as part of her Christmas gift. We decided to check here first before going to the shoe store I always go to located in Uptown Pearlridge that doesn't have as many selections as this place. This was a good decision! For a small store, I was in awe to have many brands, style, colors, etc. to choose from. My daughter found the one she wanted in less than 5 minutes. The owner measured her feet and brought out the shoes for her to try. While she was putting it on, I saw a black & white one I was interested in so the owner did the same for me. We both liked the shoes so decided to buy it. Before paying for the shoes, we found "elastic" shoelaces priced at $9.99 that can replace the one that comes with the shoes so you can set it and just slip on the shoes instead of tie/untie...yay! Asked the owner if he would be able to string it for us which he agreed...terrific service! We came here for a pair of shoes, came out with 2. Last week, we picked up a Hoka men's slippers for $65 from somewhere else. Here, it's $60...oh well :-( With the fantastic service and selections, we will now come here for our footwear needs! Tomo was great!!! I came to do an exchange for my correct size. Bought a shoe in the Honolulu location, realized after running my card that it wasn't the correct size. Honolulu location didn't have it and opted for me to have my correct size picked up in town two days later. I didn't choose that option, I decided to drive to Aiea. The mgr (Tomo) wasn't notified of my exchange, when the Honolulu location said they spoke to the mgr and have it on the side for me. So luckily I went as soon as it opened. Retired my last pair of running shoes I bought here and grabbed some new ones, plus some awesome new sunglasses. The sunglasses are $40, polarized, lightweight, have non-slip nose bridge and ear loops when sweaty. Originally I had gone in last Thursday and bought another pair of shoes but after I went home I put them on again with different socks and they just didn't feel right. Fortunately, this business has an easy exchange policy if you don't wear the shoes outside you have 2 weeks I believe to exchange them with a receipt. So I went back Sunday and got a pair I loved for the same price. They had at least 3 people working on a Sunday in the small shop and very friendly and helpful. read more

I showed her the shoe recommendations written on the coupon and she grabbed the shoes for me. I asked if they had different colors and she brought them out for me. The store is small, but filled with shoes. I would definitely return when I need good shoes. The male worker even opened the door for me as I was exiting. You really don't see that kind of customer service here in Hawaii. I felt like I was shopping in Japan, where customer service is top notch!! Stopped by Runners Route after a doctor's appointment. There was only one other customer in the shop, and she had already decided which shoes she was going to purchase. I was looking for a pair of Brooks Adrenaline shoes to replace the 2020 version that I have been wearing. I've been to this shop at least twice before, and the owner has always been friendly and helpful. I tried on the 2022 version of the Brooks Adrenaline and a Mizuno shoe that the owner recommended. They are both very good shoes and were the same price. I decided to go with the Brooks shoes since I've been wearing Brooks recently. I paid for the shoes and the owner walked me to the front door and opened the door for me and told me thank you and to please come back again. Awesome customer service! I automatically felt the difference & he gave me some recommendations. They also do a free evaluation for your feet to determine what works best for you. The selection they had were Hokas, Asics, Brooks, Nike, Mizuno & much more. They also carry running apparel from shirts, shorts, leggings, accessories. When i first came here to purchase a shoe after coming from a podiatrist, the gentleman showed me a few shoes based on the doctor's recommendations. The shoes i purchased were good except had a rip on top. Went in to buy another pair of shoes but I wanted something different but similar to the first pair I bought because I need a good pair that will support my feet from standing all day. Purchased one pair of shoes and they tell you once you wear them outside no returns. Called them to complain about the shoes based on their recommendations. because it was hurting my feet from standing all day at work, all he could tell me was I should have wear them in the house and walk around for about an hour. So very helpful and knowledgable of all the variety types of shoes they carry. Fell in love with the first *NB* tried two different ones and couldn't bear the first one he picked. Then had to get another and same however the second choice was way better and guess it right *NB*. I included some awesome soles that will mold into the shape of my feet for more arch and comfort. Came here almost a month ago... I've been looking all over for comfortable work shoes because my new job required a lot more standing and walking. I wear 11(w) or 10.5(m) shoes and it's very hard to find my size especially on the women's section. I came in the store and was very impressed with the selection that they have. Another pair was being helped but I didn't wait long to be assisted. I forgot the name of the worker but he was very helpful! He asked what was I looking for in a shoe. I told him I needed comfort since my heel hurts a lot from standing most of the time during my 8-10 hour shift. I told him I had my eyes on the another brand since I tried it on at a different store. He recommended the Asics Gel Nimbus since it was the one with most comfort. He made me try the brand I wanted and the shoes he recommended. I loved the feeling on the Asics! Its very comfortable and lightweight. After I tried it on He also checked how my feet sat on the shoe (if my toes were hitting the tip of the shoe or any extra space). I always knew there was a running shoe store in the Waimalu Shopping Center, little did I know it was a Runners Route. This is the same company as the Runners Route in Kapiolani. I'm glad that it is the same, there are few options on the leeward side. Store closes at 7p. My first impression upon entering the store was - wow most of the shoes were marked down. This baffled me because I saw new shoe models significantly lower than other shops. For example, Asics were lower here than at the Asics shops in Waikele and International Marketplace. Prior to coming here I knew exactly what I wanted to get - Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. She provided options to compare against the Brooks I was looking at. She even offered to bring over the all black model of the Brooks. Before paying for the shoes I noticed they had my exact size and width of the Kayano 25s. And guess what, they were on sale! OMG it was meant to be! I tried them on before making my final decision and purchase. I went in at 6p, and left right before closing at 640. I'm glad I got to try all those shoes before pulling the trigger! This is hands down one of the best purchases I have made - on shoes! BTW I'm a sneakerhead, so I might know a little about shoes. Here's a tip, shoes might be the best investment if you're on your feet most of the day. No need to buy into the hype for those fancy Nikes or even Adidas. Too bad I can only rate 5 stars! When we later looked at the credit card charge the clerk (Japanese guy) did not give my friend the discount but charged her the regular price. I did ask him is this on sale? He said Yes. I was looking for a new pair of shoes for work. I stand nearly all throughout my workday and suffer from tendonitis on my arch as well as a heel spur. When I came into the store I was greeted kindly and sized for a proper shoe size. I really put them to work trying to find a comfortable shoe for a good hour or so. Eventually, I bought a pair of Hokas and was advised to wear them one more time inside the house, because once they're worn outside they can bo longer be exchanged. I did, and they didn't feel the same! So I returned to the store 10 days later and found a much better pair of Brooks shoes. I think the Hokas felt different after coming home because I wore the store's compression socks while trying on shoes. I'm happy with the service I received and the shoes I decided to keep. I'm not a runner but I do enjoy a brisk walk after lunch and dinner, and I wanted a second pair of walking shoes so I could keep a pair at both work and home. For a small store, there's still a lot to choose from. I told the salesperson that I was a hard heel striker when walking and needed a lot of cushion. I also didn't want to break the bank on a second pair. He quickly pointed out several shoes that would fit the bill, and I found one that I liked. After putting them on, he offered to check how much space I had at the front of the shoe. We both agreed I needed to go a half-size up and the next pair fit perfect. I might have saved a few dollars by going to a large self-serve shoe store, but I wouldn't have had the variety to choose from. Went in with the intention of buying some real running shoes. I feel like if you tell someone exactly what you're looking for, even if you don't have all the details, it makes it so much easier for both parties. I told my guy that I wanted comfort over everything else. If it wasn't comfortable I didn't wanna see it because I wasn't gonna run in it. I wanted to be walking on clouds. As a side note i said I wanted a muted color scheme (blacks and greys) if possible. He got right to measuring my feet, having me walk from end to end in the store, and having me do a couple squats. He hooked me up with some shoes that I would have never chosen by myself, but they were great on my feet. I saw some comments saying that it's weird that they just know what shoe based on your gate/walk. They are measuring your "pronation" or the way your foot rocks outward or inward when you take a step. This is an actual thing that people do to determine what kind of support you need. Their selection is decent but it doesn't seem like they know how to help people find shoes that will work for them. I told them about what I was looking for and they only had one recommendation, and it didn't even work because the shoes didn't fit me (too wide). They showed me shoes I'd read about but there wasn't much guidance - which I was looking for since I have two pairs of shoes from other stores which wreck my feet. I ended up picking out a pair that felt fine in store, but they have no way to test out the shoes (i.e. no treadmill). The ones they suggested for me and I ended up with hurt my feet even worse than the ones I was trying to replace! The problem is that this store doesn't accept any exchanges or returns if you've used them, so if you find that the shoes you just dropped over $100 hurt you, you're SOL. So now I'm stuck with a third pair of over $120 shoes that kill my feet. I definitely won't be shopping with this place ever again. I'm pretty irritated that I keep wasting money on shoes I can't exchange because apparently no one here can help you find shoes that will work. Might be worthhile to stick with Amazon or something. read more

I went in looking for walking shoes and I didn't get the gentleman's name but he was very good at what he sells. Most shoe stores now days ask you what size, the guy made me walk bare foot and measured my foot and proceeded to show me a pair which was very comfortable but I wanted to go back to my new balance shoe cause it fits my feet better, the one that I wanted was out in my size but he hooked me up with a different new balance shoe and I bought it. Great friendly knowledgeable service. Went in to buy new shoes bcuz my Hoka's I purchased from another shop started squeezing my toes and bruising my toe nails. All I did was tell the gentleman I walk and do workout videos, he had me walk while he watched my footing went in the back to grab a shoe didn't even ask my size. I tried on what he grabbed for me to try and it fit perfect and my colors, he had me walk around the store then checked my toes and the width of the front of my foot again after walking.
