They have a great selection. They close all the time and do not let the customers know on their website. Very frustrating. I have driven out there multiple times when they say they are open, but when I get there, there's a sign on the door that they are closed. I guess that's why it's better to just buy online even though you want to support local businesses. read more

I was referred to Sport Stan from my uncle who played baseball when he was younger. He said that he would always see Stan. I was in the area and in search for a baseball bat for my son. After trying a couple bats, his coach suggested one that I had a difficult time finding at other stores near me. Stan ended up having it in stock and had multiples. His supply was really great. We ended up buying the bat, grip, and some weighted balls. He also offered military discount which was awesome. Located right behind the okinawan center, there is lots of parking and the store is a decent size. After talking with Stan I learned that he is a one man show. No employees. That is so awesome that he is hustling all by himself! Definitely check him out for your baseball needs and support LOCAL! It can be a drive out of the way, but more than worth it! read more

After flying all the way to Hawaii and realizing that a fielding mask had been left at home I come to this store I was in and out and 2 mins. He grabbed me a mask and was on my way back to ball field. Very polite and friendly. read more

Stan was so knowledgeable, had lots of options, and helped guide us to what we needed according to my son's age and league. We did not feel any pressure to buy. I highly recommend you check out this gem of a small local business. read more

#3 for 2020 Personable, quaint baseball and softball shop located in Waipio Gentry. First time last year, we're in need of finding a bat and pair of cleats prior to our son's t-ball season. We vividly recall meeting Owner's wife and she allowed my husband and son to test two different bats and see which one my son will feel most comfortable with outside of the shop. While I was inside the shop having a conversation with her, she observed and mentioned a positive comment about my husband played baseball before. I responded, "Yes, when he was young." Our son chose a bat that he felt comfortable with and loves using it for practices and games. We also decided to purchase cleats because we found a pair that fit just right and would allow our son to grow in it one more year. Second time this year, my husband and son arrived, found new cleats for our son's growing feet, just in time for baseball season. Our son is very happy with his new cleats. read more

I haven't purchased softball gear in a LONG time. I needed a new bat so I swung by Stan's. Located in Waipio, there was plenty of parking. There was such a large selection to choose from I was so confused but Stan was able to give me some insight as to what was popular based on his customers feedback. I ended up buying a bag too! Definitely recommend coming here for all your baseball/softball needs. Support local! Mahalo Stan! read more

Came here to buy my daughter's softball gear. So much selection! Everything you need in one. Unko was very helpful and friendly. A bit pricey but it's a one man show and it's so convenient especially if you are in immediate need of gear. Definitely will be coming here again in the future. read more

Went to SportStan to purchase baseball gear for my kids who wanted to try out the sport. Great selection and something for all price ranges. They are a baseball/softball store, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. SportStan also does a lot of great community work... so nice to see! SportStan is your local mom and pop store that offers a wide range of baseball/softball merchandise. They can even special order items if they don't have what you're looking for in stock. The owner and staff are super friendly and the place has a nice local vibe. Would definitely recommend SportStan 100%!! read more

Mahalo Sports Stan! You always have or can find what I need! Best is Hawaii with out a doubt!

Looking for cleats for my son, but didn't have his size, we ended up buying some batting gloves. Great place to come and check it out.

Thank you Yelp! We stopped by here for help getting a glove for our daughter. Stan showed us which glove to get, how to put her hand in the glove, and how to close her fingers to close the glove. He then showed her the finger movement to close the glove again while we were paying so she can practice and build up her hand/finger muscles. We are definitely coming back for future baseball/softball needs. read more

Stopped by looking for a new bat for my 9yr for his birthday. Stan took the time to size him up for the right bat. My son got to swing ea bat in the parking lot and found one that he liked. Awesome advice and service. Super friendly. Prices are reasonable. Big selection of all baseball and softball gear. Gloves, bats, uniforms, etc. Parking can be tight. But once the other businesses are closed I think ur safe in other stalls. Hours are not traditional so always check to ensure it's open. Definitely a great place to get your baseball and softball needs. Highly recommend! read more

This store is locally owned and operated by Stan. A BASEBALL and SOFTBALL SPORTS SHOP (which is posted in the descriptions). He's great in customer service, personality and dignity. Hours will depend on holidays, as they should be. If you have negative reviews, the problem is you. read more

Products: great selection of bats, gloves, and apparel!! Service: Stan Mahelona, very personable and fair. He allowed us to take the bats out of the store and swing them. He even came out to give batting tips in relation to the different bats. His knowledge of baseball is undeniable. Overall: small and quaint store, will definitely spread the word. read more

Sports Stan is the Best! I love when we go in and talk story with him about living, living and laughing He always takes care of us and my favorite is when we both share with all the kids, the next generation and the adults, even though we adults never stop believing in Santa Claus, Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy and Base Hits, Home Runs and Golden Glove Defense. Well what I'm trying to say is Sports Stan always reminds me, always have that kid like spirit in you, enjoy life, smile, send blessings and always have fun. Thank You Sports Stan Love you, and GOD BLESS US ALL... Love the Kp's Pilanca read more

Drove all the way from Kaneohe to check out this store. The owner was super helpful, selection was great and prices reasonable; especially for the baseball pants that we went there to get! We are happy we could support local and get great service doing it. read more

Great service and very friendly. Not many local small business like this anymore. He even gave us a coupon for a $15 car wash and offered UH football tickets that he wasn't going to use. I don't live on that side of the island but this is a shop I would definitely reccomend and be going back to in the future. read more

Uncle Stan has a great selection of items. He took the time to help us find the correct size and gear for our son whose starting to play teeball. He has knowledge about baseball. His shop is a cute little shop, it is great knowing that we are supporting a local business and not a mainland corporate store. He is personable and professional, check him out! read more

Great selection of baseball gear at reasonable prices. Super knowledgeable and helpful! Will definitely be back!

I called Sport Stan today (Thursday) and left a message knowing the store is closed. To my surprise I received a call from Stan himself less than an hour later! In my message I had let him know that I am looking for a set of youth catcher's leg guards for the team gear - not high end...not a very big sale. Stan was very courteous and polite when he informed me that he did not have these in stock and he even went on to thank me for thinking of his shop. Sport Stan has a reputation as a local shop that carries quality baseball equipment. I'm going to pay this store a visit as soon as I can. read more

My son needed a first base mitt...we ordered on Amazon because we don't have a sports store on Island. They sent us the wrong item...we bought a bat from Sport Stan last year, but we don't live on Oahu. We decided to give him a call. He had exactly what we wanted and was more than happy to ship to us. We received the glove faster than Amazon for a very good price. read more

Very poor management.. My family drove to this store only to have a sign posted on the outside saying it was closed. There is nothing on the website stating that they will be closed for the holidays. In fact, their website says that it is open today from 3:30-8:00. Wasted our time and gas driving down there. Bad first impression. It's bad when I can't even rate my in store experience and I already have a bad review. Bad review without even taking a step in the store. read more

I visited SportStan at the beginning of the year, just didnt have the time to post. During that visit I purchased a 2015 Wilson A2K catcher's mitt for my son. Yelped "camping equipment" and this was the first result to show up. When I called the store to see if they had camping backpacks, I was met with a rude response from management, saying "we are a baseball and softball store and I really don't see how that connects with camping." Needless to say, I did not appreciate being spoken to in such a tone for asking an honest question. This store is a baseball store and will not have everything that your typical sporting goods store would. read more

I love it here, very cozy and friendly and just up my sports alley. Stocking only the best of brands and products that other conglomerate stores like Sports Authority doesn't have. Made me feel kind of like that bar on Cheers yet without the alcohol, you know where everybody knows your name! Would I return, of course, done it a few times but forgot to check-in. Would I recommend it, of course because it's very hard to find softball pants for women! read more
