This was the third store I went to, looking for shoes to help me with my plantar fasciitis. The first two didn't have my size in stock, so I came here. I wish I had come here first. Not only did they carry my not-so-average size, the salesman had me take off my shoes and watched my gait, and then he had me stand on a platform that showed where my weight landed on my feet. He measured my feet and recommended shoes that were just right for me. He took lots of time with me, even telling me about stretches I could do to help my feet. We're a family of runners and have been going to this place for 10+ years. We each put in alot of mileage so we're in there every 3-4 months replacing our shoes. Ray is the one who usually helps us and his analysis of our running styles rivals that of our Keck Medicine orthopedist. He's great, but so is the rest of the staff. They'll watch you run, determine whether you have any pronation issues and recommend several pairs of shoes for you to try. Our daughter is a competitive sprinter and they have done a better job of helping us manage shin splints than sports medicine professionals. The selection is good and the prices are decent. But the best part for us is the value-add expertise that we have not found anywhere else. They have helped each of us resolve pain issues through the precision in which they fit the shoes. My podiatrist gave me a list of shoe styles and stores to seek the correct shoe for my feet. It's been an arduous assignment to say the least. I procrastinated and ordered shoe after shoe online, only to return most of them as I continued to slip and slide in ill-fitting footwear. I finally made time to visit several stores, trying on multiple pairs and having disappointing experiences. There's a lack of customer service in brick and mortar retail, which is surprising since we have so many options online. I wear a large shoe and have specific requirements, including a custom orthotic. In my attempt to commit to finally finding the best shoe for my feet and alignment, I visited three retailers in one day and finally found a real expert at a shoe store in Pasadena called Run With Us. I was able to get a pair of black athletic shoes that don't draw attention and allow me to be more mobile. I am so grateful to Sergio Medina, the sales manager, for taking the time to not only help me find the best shoe for my needs but educating me about shoe construction and design, and why some shoes are better for certain foot issues and activities than others. He also helped me understand why I was sliding around in my shoes, it's the fabrication of the socks. He guided me towards a better sock. While it's a big adjustment and correction for me, the shoe has stabilized my feet, and with the sock, I am not sliding around, so I'm more confident in my walking and able to be more in alignment. I like this place a lot. The price of their running clothes is by far cheaper than Snail's Pace. I like that the store is located right near the Gold Line on the Lake Station. The sales people are highly knowledgeable. They fit your shoes to perfection. They take a little extra more steps than other running stores, I've noticed. I have lots of troubles buying shoes, as very low ankle bones. they fitted me right away with the most comfortable shoes, ever, period. I liked them so much I bought another pair a few weeks later (and they are not inexpensive). After a few months, the inside heel lining wore out, which should not have happened. I came here after work one day because I run at the gym and needed actual running shoes. trying to run a block or mile on converse just kills your feet, ankles, knees and provides no support. as soon as I walked in a guy helped me and I told him I didn't know anything about running shoes or what kind my feet needed. he asked me to take my shoes off and walk back and forth. he told me I had over pronation(?) and suggested I try a few brands. he gave me a nike, brooks, and adidas I think that were all in the 120-140 range. he then said he had a mizuno's that was in the clearance rack for 70 bucks. since they all felt the exact same to me.. I went with the cheaper mizuno wave 7's. and I must say they are awesome! the shoes make me feel like I have so much boost, feel super light and the clearance price just made the deal even sweater. I looked how much they were online and it was the same price. So I'm more than happy to support local business and get a great deal. I hope to join their monday fun run's soon read more

I walked in and started browsing and was asked within 1 minute if I needed help. I told the nice young lady that I am interested in running and was told to get my feet checked out. She asked me to walk for her, measured my feet and then brought out some shoes. The first pair I tried on was perfect! I tried a couple more, but went back to the first one. I regret not asking the lady her name, but she was helpful and asked me if I had any questions she could answer and was just very helpful. They had some shoes on clearance in my size that she was happy for me to try, but the ones she gave me were perfect. I also came in on a budget, so I am always grateful when they don't try to sell you on other things that you don't want. read more

You will not find any better customer service anywhere (restaurant, boutique, etc) than at Run With Us. My wife and I have been buying our running shoes from them for years. My wife mixes it up, but I always buy the same make/model. That being said, I could buy my shoes anywhere (including online), but I choose to go out of my way to visit the store and buy them in person. I enjoy getting the latest industry and show info from them. Every time I'm in the store, I see them assessing and spending the time to get the runners in the right equipment. Recently, we brought my 13 year old daughter in for her first pair of running shoes. They spent the time to assess her gait and how she was wearing her existing shoes before suggesting the right options for her. We can not be more pleased with the expertise and customer service at Run With Us. Even if you know what you want, you owe it to yourself to visit and support them directly. I've been using the same pair of running shoes four four years. I figured that I would be fine, because I don't use them a lot, but somehow I managed to injure myself(maybe because the shoes were old), and I decided I needed a new pair of running shoes. Because my foot was in pain from wearing old sneakers, I wanted to make sure my feet would be taken care of so I went to this running store. This was my way of apologizing to my foot. This place is well staffed and everyone is helpful. They had a huge selection and I came home with a nice pair of Mizuno running shoes for about $60. They were lightweight and intended for people who just do light running. So this is the kind of stuff they know, like which shoe you need for what purpose. I am no means a marathon runner. I can barely finish a mile, so the ones I came home with were perfect. I still happen to be attached to my old pair of sneakers and have yet to fall in loves with the ones I got though. Other brands I remember them carrying were New Balances, Nike, and Sacouny. read more

For some reason, I don't remember seeing any nikes or reebok running shoes in this place. But's thats cool, because I think nikes are overrated when it comes to running. Reeboks aren't all that great either. Anyways, I bought my first pair of half marathon running shoes over here. I really like the service. The sales guy first told me to walk around the store so he could see my gait and suggested like 4 pairs of shoes for me to try. I put those suckers on, started to walk in the store, and jumped around a couple of times in the back with them on. Next, I narrowed my verdict down between 2 pairs. I then asked the guy and he let me run around the block in them before I decided which pair to buy. Afterwards, I chose a pair of sauconys over asics with 2nd runner up being brooks. All shoes felt good, but sauconys had my vote that day. Overall, I really like the customer service and would glady recommend this to place. This is my go-to running store. My friend recommended Run With Us years ago when I started training for my first marathon. I had always had knee problems and she said a good pair of fitted running shoes might alleviate the pain. She was right! When I made my first visit to Run With Us, I was pleased with the level of service and how every one there was very knowledgeable about gait and their running shoes. This last visit was just as good as the first, when I brought along my husband for the first time. Our task was to find a good pair of trail running shoes and the sales person first watched each of us walk and then brought out 4 pairs of shoes for us to try. He let us take our time with the shoes and even pointed out issues with fit to us. We did not feel pressured to buy a particular shoe. I decided it was time to make a lifestyle change and I went to the rose bowl to walk/run. I was wearing my adorable pink leopard Nike frees, but my feet and hips were so sore after that I knew if I was going to go back I was going to need better shoes. I looked on Yelp for running shoes and I was led here. I knew I wanted to invest in a good pair of running shoes, so I was prepared to fork out a pretty penny. I walked in and was greeted by Ray who was super helpful. He watched me walk, had me step on a machine that measured my pressure points and measured my feet. This is where I ran into my never ending problem...I wear a size 4 1/2 in women, super rare and hard to find which is why I always wear a 5 or a small 6. I immediately felt comfortable with Ray because he went directly to the sale section and had me try on a pair of Mizunos and I immediately fell in love! I felt like I was walking on clouds, unfortunately they were a size 6 and not a small 6. I tried on other shoes including the newer Mizunos, but none of them were as comfortable as the first pair. After over an hour of debating, trying on different shoes and lacing shoes differently, Ray put insoles in the first pair of Mizunos and I was sold! Thank you Ray! read more

Terrible service by sales employee. I went in looking for a Pearl Izumi running shoe. The young man at the register said we don t carry them. I said of course you do, I ve bought him over to the wall to show him the entire rack of Pearl Izumi shoes. He brings out a shoe that is not the shoe I wanted. I then stated this is not the one I m looking for. He said that s it. I ask twice this is the only women s Pearl izumi shoe you carry. He said yes. The retail associate measured my feet length and width, asked me what kind of sports Ill use the shoes for besides the running, considered the running distance I currently do and if I need to increase it soon. Then asked me to walk in the store observing my posture and stride. Then asked me what colors I prefer. He was quite patient with me asking him to go back and forth with more pairs to try on. If you are in the market for a pair of running shoes, look no further! I was really, really impressed with the overall service I received at the store. I'm not a "runner" I'm a novice that likes to run here and there and was in the market for a good pair of shoes. I could've just walked into a standard shoe store or browsed Zappos, but I chose to go to the pros. I thought I would be met with a snooty attitude, but in fact the total opposite. I was greeted within about 2 mins of walking in the store. Awesome! The he asked me a few questions as to what kind of running I do and so forth, then asked me to walk away from him so he could see my stride. He immediately told me what kind of walker I am (outside of my feet) then proceeded to the back and came out with 5 pairs of shoes, 5 different brands and said these are the best choices for my type of foot, and my type of running. Period. I found the perfect shoe, and purchased it on the spot. Pricing was about $10 less then online retailers.
