Fresh and delicious food! We stumbled upon this place when searching Yelp and this sounded great. Can't wait to return.

We LOVE the food at Rumdoul! It's a small, family-owned place in a shopping center on the corner of Dalrock & Lakeview Parkway. We noticed it was relatively new so decided to stop in. The menu offers several options of vegetables-based meals with proteins such as chicken, beef or seafood. I've been looking for a place that wasn't heavy on bread and offered a healthier choice for me. I admit I have the Thai tea (soooo yummy!) regardless of calorie count. The family members serving the meals & cooking are really pleasant and polite. I somehow thought they were only open during lunchtime, yet was pleasantly surprised to see they close at 9pm. Our kids love PHO style food so now that school's out, we're packing them in the car & off to Rumdoul we go! read more

The staff was friendly and great! But their food was quite disappointing. Basil Tofu Fried Rice was bland and Shrimp Pad Thai was dry, not enough sauce. Caramelized Pork was ok. read more

Phenomenal and amazing food from an authentic Cambodian chef who has a simple but multiple Thai authentic dishes to choose from. You will not be disappointed as we had the Pad Thai and the basil chicken fried rice and let me tell you in one word "excellent "!! read more

Great food, but even better customer service! We walked in pretty close to closing time and they didn't rush us or have an attitude. Some of the nicest, most humble people I've ever met. We had lunch here today and it was outstanding! Asian food is our favorite cuisine and we can be pretty picky and this place has some amazing, authentic dishes! We started with the eggrolls which were outstanding. My husband got a beef dish (I've forgotten the name of it) which is one of their specialties. I had the pork Asian lettuce wraps. I generally avoid strip mall restaurants and I never write reviews but this restaurant is so good that I was compelled to write. Our daughter and family had recommended Rumdouls multiple times. So tonight we tried it. I had the caramelized pork. The pickled vegetables served with it were such a delicious contrast to the sweet pork. The atmosphere was simple, casual and upscale. I will be back again and again. I want to try everything on the menu. And the service was so friendly and on point. Yum! read more

I stopped in for a late lunch. Had to get home for a Zoom meeting. Ordered the Mee KaTang and waited in the car. The owner brought it out and when he handed it to me I thought it was very heavy.I raced home (very close) sat down opened it up and oh, it smelled and looked so good. It was also huge. I had to wake my wife up from a nap to help me eat it. It tasted as good as it smelled. I love this place. I am eating my way through the menu. So far all winners.. read more

I walked in and was immediately greated by the owner. Very nice and hospitality was better than expected. The dinning room is closed due to covid so i got my food to go. The owners answered all my questions and when i asked for there suggestions they were spot on. I had the chicken red curry with noodles. They even sent me home with a dish to eat it in. Tucked away in this little strip mall is this really great, new Asian restaurant, but specifically Cambodian, something we haven't really had in the area yet. The inside was really quaint and nice and the food is REALLY good! I got the Pad Thai with chicken and it tasted really fresh and delicious! I also got their Thai Tea and found out that you can get free refills for the drink which is AMAZING for someone who really loves Thai Tea. In other restaurants that serve Thai Tea, even outside Rowlett, I can never get a refill for it so it really is quite nice that they offer this. This restaurant is a really nice surprise and am shocked that I didn't know about the opening or anything about this restaurant before. This is a breath of fresh air in the Asian cuisine scene in Rowlett/Rockwall. I highly recommend this restaurant and will come back again! read more

Really great find. As far as I know the only Cambodian food in metroplex. Great clean taste. Unbelievable home made chili paste worth the visit. We loved the Cambodian mini doughnuts as an appetizer. Wonderful little spheres with great green onion flavor. Not on menu but be sure to ask for. Even the ice tea is unique and flavorful. We had two entrees familiar from Thai restaurants that were very good especially with the homemade chili paste and the side of wonderful peanut sauce that we requested. The staff/owners are real friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Altough we live on other side of metroplex- we will return anytime in the area. read more

this place is absolutely incredible!! it's a bit hidden, behind a gas station, but it is a true hidden gem. I got the caramelized pork, which comes with a side of rice, a fried egg on top, and some delicious pickled veggies. my friend got pad thai, which came with lime sauce to put over it instead of the usual fish sauce which I tried a bite of, so good! the owner came to our table and asked us how everything was,and took the time to learn our names, which was so lovely of him. read more

Absolutely incredible food with great vegetarian options!!! We didn't realize that they closed at 7 on sundays and we rolled in at 6:36 But the owner was so sweet and polite! He brought us out some fresh chili paste that was so incredible!!! Cannot rave enough about this place!! AND they deliver!!!! This will definitely make the top ten restaurants in Rowlett/Rockwall! We went here after finding Rumdoul on the "hot, new" restaurant list with strong initial reviews, and we are so glad we stoppeby. The food was fresh, and the chili paste homemade. We sampled several dishes - including appetizers and entrees - and each was delicious. This is a family run business, and the owners were pleasant and friendly, making sure we were satisfied with the food and service. On a whim, I decided to invite some friends to join me for dinner at this new little restaurant. It's truly a hidden gem. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, not to mention fast. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken and vegetables and it was excellent. They also provided us with dessert on the house! My family comes here once a week for the beef loc lac. I've never had anything like it. It's so fresh and savory, and the flavors complement each other so well. If you like spice, you can turn up the heat as hot as you like it. The sticky rice custard is light and aromatic with just the right amount of sweetness. You can't go wrong here. read more

A group of us stopped in to try Rumdoul on a Sunday morning. The proprietor was EXTREMELY helpful, explaining some of the dishes and recommending the favorites. He was also very polite and accommodating. He followed up with the group several times, making sure we had a pleasant experience. He also suggested a drink to several of the ladies in the party and provided several complimentary drinks. After we ate he said that they had a dessert he wanted us to try. He brought out samples for all seven of us. (It was a rice based custard, very mild and tasty.) It is great to see a service oriented, family run business. We will be back. read more

Delicious food, great customer service and reasonable price. I am Cambodian and from Florida we were in Texas on a whim and found this through Google so because of the name I decided to try the food. Being Cambodian I wanted something authentic and homey. I am also uber detail oriented I was delightfully surprised at how good the food was. Beef Loc Lac was invoking of my moms and so was the 5 other dishes we ordered. 4 of us went and 10 dishes were ordered all exceptional.....so definitely give this place a try you will not feel cheated. read more

My husband and I had the opportunity to try out this amazing little place tonight!!! We normally don't venture out to different things like this but we sure are glad we did. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with the sweetest and most personal hospitality EVER! I don't know if it was the owner but he was the absolute sweetest and most communicative server ever. He suggested some items that were popular to try and I honestly could not pick a favorite! They all were so delicious in their own way. We ordered the Vegetable Egg Rolls. They were the crispiest but oh so moist inside! The Pad Thai with the first bite I was in disbelief at how yummy it was! The Beef Skewers were so tender and marinated to perfection with a hint of lemongrass! The Caramelized Pork had so much variety to the dish. It comes with a fried egg on top of the pork that was cooked to perfection. So you cut the egg and eat the pork with the egg and the pickle veggies on the side added so much more flavor to the dish. Our server also brought us a special drink to try and it was so DELISH! I told them I was taking a menu home and we would be working our way through their menu. We will definitely be back even though this is a bit of drive from where we live.
