Just ate here with my family after reading about the raving reviews and my oh my were we impressed. We ordered the Dominican Ribs, Mussels, and Seared Ahi Tuna appetizers and they were all absolutely delicious. Smallest critique would have been warmer ribs upon arrival, they were a bit on the luke warm side but still 5 stars worthy. We then went on to order 4 assorted tacos (my brother loved them - Shrimp was one of his favorites of all time, Carnitas, and two others all savory). I had the Pork Tenderloin with Risotto and Maduro, stunning flavors. My parents both ordered the Blackened Mahi and were blown away by the flavors. All of the flavors were most definitely a delectable adventure. Waitress and staff were A+, on top of service and very friendly. We were in from NYC and had a really amazing time at this restaurant. Worth a drive 1hr+ just to eat here. Highly recommend Rumba! read more

Rumba's specials menu... always so special, spectacular and tasteful treats, check it out!!!

Great food and drinks. The ribs are a must have. Absolutely delicious. Service is excellent. Casual lively vibe. Will definitely be back.

You will never ever have a bad meal or experience at Rumba. Every single menu item is fresh, delicious and well prepared. Tacos are insanely good, the coconut risotto is something you would write about. And the sugar can soy salmon is the best piece of fish you will ever have. And then there's the cocktails....oh the cocktails. And don't forget to save room for key lime pie or tres leches! Wait staff is always super friendly and attentive, even on the busiest nights. And believe me, they get busy!! I wish I could give more than 5 stars. read more

When I tell you this is one of the best places to eat on the island I'm not exaggerating. My friend and I live an hour away from the Hampton's and we drive out at least twice a month to go eat here. Whatever you choose to eat, you will not be disappointed. We personally prefer the double dip appetizer, Caesar salad, and their tacos. I recommend getting the double dip with two scoops of pimento cheese dip instead of guac, I promise you will not be disappointed. If you're on yelp trying to decide whether to go here or somewhere else, definitely go here. Warning though, once you try RUMBA you will fall in love and have to make the trip out there all the time, like we do. read more

If you're in the Hampton Bay area and tired of eating the same type of cuisine, I highly recommend that you check out the Rumba. Try your best to make a reservation because they can get quite busy on the weekends and for good reason. First of all as soon as you walk in you will notice the outstanding view of the Peconic bay, and immediately feel as if you are on vacation. Caribbean music can usually be heard on the speakers and the atmosphere is super laid-back. Make sure to try their tropical rum punch as well as their other cocktails. I highly recommend ordering a few of their tacos, I ordered the buffalo soldier taco, shrimp taco and if you go for brunch they usually have a specialty taco. I absolutely love their Caribbean wings, they are smothered in a sweet and savory sauce and are quite large. I also recommend requesting to eat outside during the warmer months as you will be able to eat delicious food and have an outstanding view. read more

Came here for my friends bachelorette. I was able to reserve the rumba bus. It was amazing. You could see the water, it was private, we could be as loud as we wanted to. There is ac in the bus. One of the waitstaff used my debit card info! I only knew because I NEVER use my bank debit card ANYWHERE. Sadly, a friend was going in for cancer surgery at Sloan Kettering the next day. So I took her and her boyfriend out for dinner and used the card (the one and only time). The next day a $400 charge appeared on my bank account for shoes. Luckily, the bank uses fraud alert and it was stopped ASAP. Very disappointing. I reported this to the authorities. read more

It would have gotten a 5 star rating if I didn't have to drive in circles and take there boat to rumba from there sister restaurant, Cowfish due to the fact that there was no parking. Other then that it was a great experience upon my arrival! The valet gentlemen offered to take photoshoots of all of us and the service and meals were great!!!!! I got the burger with the pineapple on it- the best burger EVER. We also got a few appetizers that were delish! When you get a chance, DEFF GO. Just beware of the parking. read more

Rumba is an experience. Skip the valet just to pick up the Rumba bus for a quick and fun ride to the restaurant. Or...park at Cowfish (affiliated and down the road) and take the Rumba Barge for a great trip in the bay to the dock outside Rumba. Rumba always has a wait. Expect to wait a long time on weekends. Weekdays is more manageable. No reservations for small parties. We have waited long and while that stinks, the estimated waiting time is always accurate (for better or worse..). But you can grab a drink at the bar and go sit outside at the dock and enjoy the view of the bay. Nothing on the menu is a throw away. The simple food like tacos and wings (man...the Caribbean wings!) are simply fantastic. The higher priced entrees are creative and delicious. The sea scallops with coconut risotto, the pan seared tuna salad...excellent. The key lime pie caps the meal perfectly. Rumba is a rockstar. Go early, expect to wait, but also expect to have a great meal and time. read more

Parking is a nightmare but worth the wait on the valet line. Have had dinner here a few times and it's always great food. For my birthday we decided to stay at home to celebrate so I ordered from their catering menu. First time in 20 years there were no leftovers! Even the pricing is reasonable, 15 people came to $23 per person. Will definitely be ordering from there again! read more

This place is one of the BEST on the East End hands down! I've been there two times in the last week and once again , they knocked its out of the ball park ! I started off with a rum punch "BIGGA" that was fantastic! It kicked my butt ! Haha! I then had the grilled artichokes which were chargrilled to perfection . The tender juicy artichoke meat came off so smoothly and tasty. Then came out probably the best grilled salmon , coconut risotto and julienne carrots ever made in this world. Just a note: I had it the week before too!!! Both were spot on! The buttery char-grilled honey glazed salmon made my taste buds do a happy dance!! I can't say enough about this place. I sat out on the back deck overlooking the Shinnecock Bay. Our waitress was very attentive and took wonderful care of us with precision and thoughtfulness. Remember it's summer time people and this place gets off the hook busy so be kind, be patient, be understanding . They try their best to satisfy their guests so just chill! Happy summer! read more

Rumba is a solid five star joint in my books and here's why... Everything these guys do here freakin' rocks...not only do they KISS but they do things the right way. They pay attention to detail, the service is always top notch yet casual and very on-point, never an attitude, and beyond friendly. Frank and Shawn (usually behind the bar) are beyond fantastic - these guys get it, there's never any bullshit, and they're always making sure you're taken care of. It's really difficult to find a place like Rumba that is not only superbly consistent (drink, food, and service wise) but so casual at the same time; everyone is always here to have fun and just relax/enjoy what they have to offer. The views....ahhhh the views of Shinnecock bay, are always in sight and if you score a beautiful day, get there early and sit outside. You will NOT be disappointed, I promise you! Their FRESH coconut cream Pina Colada on the rocks (Passion fruit) - I challenge you to not only find a better tasting pina colada but one that is made FRESH without using any of that Island Oasis crap that most bars use which is not only disgusting, but calorie laden. By the way, I thought it was weird that theirs was on the rocks at first, but I will never go back to frozen or any other way if at all possible. It's done with Passion Fruit puree...KILLER. Order them in batches, so you don't have to wait going from your first to your second, or to your third. THIS DRINK is so good, it requires its own paragraph. They have a killer happy hour from M-F 4-6p where most of their killer drinks are HALF price ~$5 and many apps are discounted considerably! Seriously can't be beat especially for their happy hour prices...unsurpassed. They open everyday at 12p... They are deserving of every single letter of this glowing review...GUYS keep doing what you're doing, we love you! THIS has been a review by Gaurav read more

I'd begun to believe this location was cursed. Year after year, I've seen restaurants come and go in this waterfront spot. But I think Rumba is here to stay. My father and I stopped in for a drink after hearing rave reviews from several local friends. I LOVE the decor - simple, tropical, summery. The bartender was super friendly, and immediately helped me pick a drink to suit my tastes. He recommended the key lime martini, and WOW. Talk about out of this world. It was uttterly incredible, with a graham cracker crust and all. My father had a mango mojito, which he also reported to be outstanding. I also tried the dip trio - a cold cheese dip and guacamole. The guacamole was flavorful and delicious. My father had an ahi tuna appetizer which he devoured. The bartender chatted with us for the duration of our visit, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I will definitely be returning for a full-on dinner next summer. Also, LOVE their shirts, the back of which say: "Girls just wanna have rum". HA! read more

RUUUUUUMMMMMBAAAAAAAA! Staying in the gorgeous hamptons and was told to come to this place, glad we did.. It was a fun little experience taking the tiki boat from cowfish's dock to the rumba dock and back.. Parking is crazy over there so it's better to probably get dropped or take the little tiki taxi.. About a 20 min wait which was fine bc I wanted a mojito.. Mango, passion fruit mojito made me feel like I was on vacation.. Actually, being at this restaurant made me feel a little bit like I was away.. The Caribbean food smells (I was def smelling those ribs) filled the air and everyone seemed really chill, it was nice. We all had the Caesar salads which were delicious (how can you go wrong? Slightly overboard with the dressing but it was ok).. I had the seared ahi tuna, friends had the island rib eye with sweet potato mash and the Dominican ribs with fries... All perfectly seasoned, ribs were falling off of the bone and the ribeye was cooked perfection... My friend actually said "it was the best piece of meat she's put in her mouth" HAHHAHA DOUBT THAT.. Anyway it was delicious, I would come back here when in the area and would recommend it.. They have a good crowd here and drinks on the deck can turn into an all night affair I'm sure.. read more

I just wanted to put a small update in for Rumba. Having now been here during both the busy season and the dead of winter. This place is on point with every visit. The food has always been cooked to perfection on all our visits. The drinks are some of the best I've had in the area. And service is great. I highly recommend checking this place out to anyone that has never been. Try the ribs, you will say they are some of the best you've ever had. Also worth mentioning, the Mahi dish they make is one of the best I've ever. We will continue to make the trek but we're anxiously awaiting the opening for their next location (Patchogue). read more

SHAKE YOUR RUMBAAAAA!!! That's a little tribute to the Beastie Boys in memory of my man MCAAAAAAA. This is my favorite new spot in The Bays. It absolutely crushes any other place right now in terms of food and booze. Atmosphere isn't too shabby either. It's The service is great too. The waiters are friendly and the waitresses are cute. What more can you ask for? Here are a list of the best food items on the menu. The appetizers are what's up so don't be afraid to over order. Duck Empanada's - Flavor explosion in your mouth...the good kind Grilled Artichokes - Simple yet savory Dominican Ribs - Wow. Fall off the bone and incredible flavor Coconut Shrimp - *NEW* Two MASSIVE Shrimp with same dipping sauce as the empanadas Grilled Oysters - *Not on the menu anymore as far as I know* They were bomb though. Reminiscent of the New Orleans style Char Grilled oysters except they have cheese. Tacos - ALL of them are good but the Jerk Chicken, Fish and Pulled Rib are the best. The pulled rib taco has crispy onions and a sweet bbq sauce. So freaking good. As for the drinks, they make them strong and they go down easy. The Sangria is one of the best I've ever had and the Rum Punch will knock you on your ass. You can't go wrong with either or any of their other awesome concoctions. I see myself here a lot over the next few years. read more

Went for Linner with a friend. Awesome view of Canal.Ordered some Tacos ,one fish, one pulled pork, one steak.Fish was Mahi mahi and was lightly breaded and very good. Rumba - Rum Punch. Tasty and believe these are laced with some kind of Caribbean hallucinogen. - Caribbean Near Me - Hampton Bays, New York

I've been to Rumba a bunch, but recently came here with the boyfriend for a late lunch/early dinner on MDW. The place was packed out, but the hostess managed to sit us right away on the outside deck. The waterfront views here, just like their sister restaurant, Cowfish, are on point. There's a dock (where the RumBarge is located) with plenty of seating so that you can enjoy a drink or two before/after dinner. There is also high top seating on the outside deck that overlooks the water. If you're stuck eating inside, there are plenty of opportunities throughout your night to go outside and enjoy the beautiful views-- especially if you decide to take a ride over to Cowfish on the RumBarge (highly recommended). Drinks and food are the bomb. The Rum punch is always a great choice. It's served in a mason jar and the smallest size is actually pretty large (and strong!). My two absolute favorite menu items are: the Dominican ribs and the Sriracha wings. The ribs are so flavorful and the meat falls right off the bone. The wings are just delicious, end of story. We also ordered the sunset crab cake salad which was so refreshing and delicious (mind you, I'm not a huge crab cake fan) and we split three tacos-- the buffalo soldier, shrimp taco, and the smothered pulled rib taco. All great, but my favorite was the shrimp (which is a new menu item). Service here is always a pleasure. The food comes out quickly and every server/hostess/bartender is super friendly and willing to help you/each other out. Quick tip: Parking is limited. You can valet your car in the main parking lot, or there is a "Rum Bus" that will pick you up from the Mariner Cove Marina when the main lot is full. Moral of the story: Rumba is the bees knees. If you are given the opportunity to grab a bite here, you'd be crazy to pass it up. The atmosphere is fun, the vibe is laid back, and it's overall just a genuinely great experience. This might just be my favorite summer spot on all of Long Island and I would drive many miles just for a rack of their Dominican ribs. read more

All I have to say is WOW. The food was beyond excellent and they made a sincere effort to accommodate my gluten free needs. That on top of a beautiful view and chill ambiance made our family dining experience one to remember. FOOD: -My father ordered the duck empanadas as an appetizer, which he deemed incredible and almost placed a second order for himself (I am vegetarian, so can not officially comment) -We ordered a combination of unique tacos ($5-6 each) and sides ($6 each) for our meal. As a GF vegetarian, I ate the rastaman taco (avocado, cabbage slaw, corn, and rasta sauce served in a lettuce leaf). It was quite epic. Everyone else at the table thoroughly enjoyed their taco selections as well. -GET THE COCONUT RISOTTO! You won't regret it. Plantains were delicious too. AMBIANCE: I love outdoor eating with a view, and this place has it. Also with good, chill music (jack Johnson variety) that was not too loud. We were seated outside with a storm approaching and the manager made sure to erect an awning. They also offer a private dining space in a refurbished minibus (located closer to the water adjacent to the building and parking lot) for private parties. I will definitely recommend this to friends and consider it for my own future event planning needs. PARKING: The only downside, but not bad enough to deter us from going. If you arrive before it is crowded you will be accommodated by free valet parking service (to make efficient use of their lot). We arrived when the lot was full, so parked 1/2 mile up the road (by the marina, a small sign indicates "satellite parking") and took the "rumba bus" back to the restaurant. It was quite easy. read more

Rumba - Gluten free rasta tacos, plantains, coconut risotto, and "Bigga" sangria... Yum! - Caribbean Near Me - Hampton Bays, New York

At first, it was surprising to me how insanely popular this new place is. There really aren't that many places like it though - casual, mostly affordable, and relatively unpretentious for its darling waterfront location. At this early stage in Rumba's lifetime, however, a bit more practice is needed in both the food and service realms. The first time I was there, they forgot one of our appetizers entirely. We pointed it out after the meal and got a sincere apology, but we didn't notice until later that we were charged anyway. The menu is somewhat baffling as it's all over the map - Caribbean, Asian, Cajun, South American, Mexican, the list goes on. Some focus would be nice. But the portions are big and the food is generally tasty. The mains are weirdly pricey compared to the rest of the menu, and the appetizers are small (why so few chips for our dip duo, Rumba?). Luckily Rumba has its drinks down pat, you can't beat their frothy margarita or their $4 beers. The locale is nice, with a lovely view onto the water, but the crowd is... eclectic. Beware inappropriately dressed women of a certain age and surly drunks who have been hanging out at the bar all day long. read more
