If you didn't know what to look for, you could easily drive past this little gem. The Station Bar is nestled in among the houses on Shinnecock rd. When you first arrive, you can tell it's a place that primarily caters to locals, which is a nice change of pace during the summer pilgrimage of out of towners. The bar itself is relatively small, but the bar staff are quick on their delivery. For food, we shared a dozen oysters that were without a doubt fresh and reasonably priced. We had the fluke fish tacos that were some of the best fish tacos I've ever tried, as well as their seasonal special - buffalo chicken soft shell crab (soft shell crab fried like buffalo chicken nuggets, that include a side of buffalo sauce). The food was excellent! We went on a Saturday night and they had live music. The place wasn't overly crowded and it was a really great for a summer date. I definitely recommend checking out the Station Bar if you're in the area, or even taking the ride just to enjoy some fresh seafood and a couple of beers while sitting on the canal. read more

If you weren't looking for Station Bar you'd drive right past it. It's a tiny bar right on the canal with ample outdoor seating and a pretty decent food menu. Any time I'm here on a busy night I'm always shocked at how one small bar (and I'm assuming tiny kitchen) manage to get everyone fed and served. I will say that depending on what kind of night you go here (especially during the summer) you're probably going to experience a bit of a wait to get a drink -- and may not even find yourself a seat for quite some time. But the crowd here is some of the nicest I've encountered. If someone sees you standing and are about to head out, they'll not only give you the heads up, but also introduce you to everyone else they were sitting around so that you feel welcomed in. Order at the bar and runners bring your food out, no table service. Excellent wings, burgers and other small bites. Good for a couple beers, but mixed drinks are Hampton's priced. Pull your boat up into unreserved slips and chill. I have and will continue to spend my time and money here. read more

Solid place. $23 for two fish tacos that were solid. The fish was incredible. I tried a shrimp taco but go with the fish. The shrimp you miss but the fish is unmistakable. The cheese on top is great. The onion rings are world class. Loved eating outside. We got cold ice waters at the bar. They had music outside. Napkins at the tables. They bring the food to you. read more

Came here for lunch today. Local fisherman's dive with good food. I had the lobster roll, It was different - serve on whole grain toast more like an open face sandwich than a lobster roll. The baked clams were good. The burger was delicious. All in all good food. You walk up to the bar to be served and they bring It out to you. read more

When we first started coming to Hamptons Bay a friend introduced us to The Station Bar. Now The Station is what we focus our trip around. The atmosphere is absolutely incredible. Put a $1 in the jukebox or listen to one of their musical acts that they hire often while you sit on the water and enjoy the company of your friends and family. The inside is absolutely beautiful and the bartenders are incredible. This is the spot. COVID-19: they are closing at 11pm everyday. You have to buy food with your drinks. read more

Visit Date: March 29, 2021 Came here with my Butch (the guy I'm currently seeing), have a few nicknames for him. I happened to be off work on a vacation day and my almost ex had our son for the weekend and I didn't have to get him until 6 pm. We were trying to drive out as far as we could and ended up here to eat. I don't drink so I just had a Shirley (sadly they didn't serve coffee). I don't expect bars or any place to serve coffee just for me, but I will appreciate your business for sure if you have coffee as an option. I chose the stuffed avocados for my meal, my squeeze got meatballs, a side salad and something I can't remember and a drink which I think he liked. The stuffed avocados were pretty good. The crowd here was pretty cool. Since it was the Hamptons I'm not sure if anyone was really monied or not or just visiting and touring like we were. Everyone seemed to kind of respect each other and the vibe was pretty chill. No grubby bar fights at least during the time we were there. The bar is off the water and the view when I stepped outside was amazing. I do what I now call my nature shit. I believe in fate so every day like you would if you said a prayer to God if that's your thing I find something natureish and I hang out and thank fate for what I've been given and ask for guidance on where to go in the future and help for those that I know need something. So I went out to the water while my squeeze was finishing his food and did my nature shit. The day was bright and sunny when we were there and a little bit on the warm side but kind of windy still a good day. Don't know if I'll ever get a chance to come back here but if you're visiting the Hamptons this place might be where it's at. It's a bar with mostly outside seating, but also had a pool table inside. Food was really good considering it's just a bar. The tuna bites were the BEST! Food came out fast and was fresh. I also had the fish tacos which were good and the clam chowder (which wasn't too special). If you're expecting a fancy Hampton Experience, this isn't it. I was so glad I got the opportunity to visit the Station Bar in Hampton Bay to see what the food and atmosphere was about. We go there on a quiet evening after a rainy afternoon and were glad we would be able to sit outside near the water watching the boats while we waited for our menus. While waiting we were soon mesmerized by a swan on the water which was a site to be seen. After getting the menu we soon decided on a variety of things to order . We ordered fish taco, fish and chips, meatballs, and chicken tenders with fries. The tacos were delicious although the fish was deeply battered it was very flavorful and crispy. The meatballs came on a creamed cucumber which was kind of bland to my taste , the chicken tenders were crispy and came with a side of mustard, the combination together was a party in the mouth and last but not least the fish and chips deep fried battered fish was ok but not my favourite. It was a great evening with friends where we got to enjoy a wonderful meal outside by the water. Hope to do this again soon. read more

As a local, nothing is more synonymous with the commercial fishing culture as The Station. The bar itself is nothing incredible, what they do, they do right. It's the perfect spot to start or end a bar hop, or plant yourself all night if you want a more relaxed spot. With a pool table and darts in the back room, and plenty of outdoor seating, there isn't much more you'd want. They have live music often and the staff is friendly. I would be worried about your safety going here if dinner or later. I've been to plenty of " hole in the wall" restaurants and they were just fine. This one was NOT. I'm surprised they don't have a bouncer or police manning it at night. Seriously don't go here. Food was a 3/5, but pricey for what it was. Unfortunately we had a horrible experience as a patron tried to pick a fight with my wife and I as we paid our bill after dinner. He said it is a bar and not a place for children which is too bad since they seem to have regular "family" events and it's listed as being good for kids on Yelp. The staff saw everything unfold but did nothing to diffuse the situation and my children are traumatized by the confrontation. Please, if you have a family, patronize a better business in town that values their customers. read more

Local bar but don't let it fool you. The food is so good, you can tell the chef is really putting some love in the dishes. I got the lobster roll and it was amazing, came with Brie super different but I loved that. Clam chowder was hot and tasty. We came here for a few drinks and fish and chips. Very relaxed atmosphere and live music which made out night in regards to the food there was way too much batter on the fish but it was tasty. We were out east of course and it was late (like 10:30-ish) and hungry we thought of grabbing just coffee at ....7-11 lol but I googled restaurants and this came up. Tried this place out with some friends not expecting the delicious flavors we got! Teriyaki tuna appetizer was so good we ordered 2 along with baked clams . My friends got burgers for their main dish but I got the blackened mahi Ruben. This was a delightful light dish that came with waffle fries. They also had onion rings that were pretty good. We all had some adult beverages mostly beer but I ordered a Moscow mule and they did not disappoint! It was so good I was drinking them down like water. Can't wait to come back! read more

So... we were in the neighborhood and figured... a solid 4 stars, and lots of 5 star reviews... how bad could it be? So this is a short review for me, but there's honestly not much I can say... If you're fond of cold soup, watered drinks, and crappy service, I guess this is your place to be. I mean... even the oyster crackers managed to be stale in their vacuum packed pouches - I didn't think that was even possible, yet somehow, these people have managed it! My friend and I stayed nearby the Station Bar and decided to bike over for dinner one night. We ordered our food and sat outside while we were serenaded with live music. cute vibes. My friends and I came here after driving from La guardia for my bachelorette Party weekend. We found this place because it was one of the places that was serving drinks and apps at 3PM!! This is my go-to place for it's great atmosphere and delicious food. I've tried over half the menu and everything and haven't been disappointed yet. The new banh mi is awesome and I always enjoy the Alabama chicken sliders. Service is solid and wait times on food are quick. The bartenders are all super friendly and make really good drinks when I'm not in the mood for a beer. This was a favorite, live music and great menu. Back for the 2019 season. Charging for soda refills. No more PEI mussels, calamari decent but reduced portions. What a great find! After my step sons lacrosse game, we were all starving & wanted something quick to eat. We had our pup with us though, so that limits a lot of our options. We quickly pulled up dog friendly restaurants on yelp (thank goodness for yelp!) & this spot popped up. I loved it here. The bartender/waitress was super friendly. We were immediately seated (6 of us) I loved all the windows that wrapped around the seating area in the back. Great views of the water. Our food was fresh & delicious! Clam chowder, yum. The fish tacos were amazing, I'lll definitely get that next time. I ordered the chicken wrap, also delicious. The fries were a hit as well. No complaints here. Our group of 6 all enjoyed the place as much as I did. I love places that allow dogs! I can't wait to come back when the weather gets nicer. They have a very nice outside seating area.
