Got a baklava with ice cream here and it was fabulous. The baklava was drizzled with honey and topped with ice cream made it the perfect sweet treat to enjoy by the ocean side. We parked by the residential area and strolled down. They also validate parking at mozambique down the street.

Superb restaurant serving quality food and great service. They are very unique since they serve both Italian and Greek food. The environment is dark and intimate, perfect for date night or any celebration. They have good portions and the food is all delicious. Staff are friendly and they have indoor and outdoor seating. 4.3/5 Came for happy hour (3-6 wed through sun) and really enjoyed the experience. The waitstaff is friendly, there's plenty of seating, and we were sat at our table immediately. There's a nice outdoor patio, but we sat indoors. We ordered a glass of wine ($10) each and started with complimentary focaccia. The rigatoni, penne, and souvlaki (chicken or beef) were all great. Portions are large so you can share and still have plenty to eat. Highly recommend this place for happy hour!

TLDR: top tier service and food; a must try their Chef's rotelle when you're in Laguna Beach Chef's Rotelle 5/5 Halibut Piccata 5/5 Caesar Salad 2/5 Located right next to the beach, Rumari is an Italian gem with some Greek dishes as well. Most of the employees seem to be Italian and the service is warm and friendly all around. They start you off with bread and some sort of lemony yogurt dill dip, the happy hour menu is robust, and their cocktail/beer/wine offerings are heavily Italian-influenced. My mom wasn't too fond of their limited cocktail and beer options, but she's a hard woman to please. So you know Rumari's food is good because she loved it! The Chef's Rotelle are lasagna rolls with half cream and turkey bacon (?) and half marinara. It was not only aesthetically pleasing, but it was also rich, creamy, and piping hot. The tomato side really helped to balance the heaviness of the cream. The halibut piccata was also beautifully presented, cooked, and garnished. I loved the accompanying spinach. The only meh for me was the Caesar salad as there was too much sauce and too much cheese to be enjoyable. That's probably the authentic way to eat it though so that's on me. Thank you Rumari for a great time! P.s. if you go on a birthday, you are in for a treat ;)

Amazing! Local friends of ours who are foodies themselves recommended us to join them for Happy Hour between 4 and 6pm.... we decided to go in on a Saturday at 5pm and it was not too busy as yet. Outdoor seating was available but as there is a lot of noisy (bang-bang-bang exhaust) traffic, sitting indoors is highly preferred. Cozy place! Very inviting but definitely not too cramped. In regard to our food, our funchi al forno and sausage pizza were fantastic and the drink specials ($5 bottled beer, $10 wine) attractive. For the ones not too familiar with Italian beer, Peroni is very light so Moretti would be the better choice if there's a need for more flavor. Our host Leo did a stellar job in entertaining us. 10/10.

We were looking for a dinner spot near our hotel on Saturday night, the first day of our trip and found Rumari which was less than 15 min walk away. We arrived around 7:30 and unfortunately the restaurant was already busy, so we were only able to get a table outside. It was breezy out so we were glad we dressed in layers. Ended up ordering the chicken souvlaki. Nothing special to write home about for this dish.. the chicken was a tad dry. Since we were seated outside it felt like we were ignored by our servers. We asked for the bill three times and waited awhile till it was too cold out that we went into the restaurant to pay. Service could definitely be improved on this point.

So for a casual Italian this is good. They share valet with Mozambique which is great and just a block away - $10 - free electric vehicle charging. They are a sister restaurant to Mozambique so they also offer crayons and paper for the kids to color which is always fun for the littles. The kids did not like the cheese pasta which was heavily doused in butter. The caprese was ok but average. The cheese seemed store bought so not special. We should have stuck with our initial thought to get the greek and not have changed to the caprese when we learned N's dish came with the greek. The greek salad is amazing and the flavors are on point with the acidity and herbs. I would def. order the greek salad next time. The riagtoni fileto marsala was a huge hit. My kids really enjoyed my dish as well. The filet was cooked well and the flavor of the marsala was delicious. N enjoyed his chicken souvlaki.

The fact that they still had plenty of 8pm openings in Laguna should've been my first warning sign -- every other decent spot was fully booked. Still, it had been a while, and I figured it couldn't be that bad. After paying $20 for parking, we walked in to find the restaurant fairly empty. A nice gentleman seated us all the way in the back -- never a good start. It took quite a while before anyone came by to offer water and bread, and even then we had to ask three separate times before it finally arrived. My girlfriend ordered the salmon, and I went with the eggplant parm, a side of penne with arrabbiata, and a glass of Pinot. The salmon arrived undercooked, and by the time we flagged someone down to send it back, it still didn't come out right. She ended up eating a small portion and some potatoes. My eggplant tasted like something you'd get at Olive Garden, and the penne had no flavor at all -- clearly boxed pasta. I sent it back. For dessert, we ordered a cannoli and decaf coffee. The cannoli shell was extremely hard, and to top it off, the restaurant started playing salsa music -- great for a Mexican restaurant, not an Italian one. I apologized to my girlfriend for such an uninspiring dinner. We paid, walked next door for gelato, and that ended up being the best part of the night. To many in Orange County, this place might seem fine. But I've spent time in Italy and grew up eating authentic Southern Italian food made by people who cared at a restaurant in Indiana-- fresh eggplant, handmade pasta, real ingredients. Most Italian restaurants in OC simply don't measure up, and unfortunately Romeo Cucina proved that again. My first choice was Nick's for their excellent salmon and mashed potatoes, but they were fully booked until 10pm -- which tells you everything. If anyone knows of a truly authentic Southern Italian spot where the owners care about quality and service, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'll keep searching. We had a fantastic Italian meal in Pasadena recently, so I know it's still possible.

He went above and beyond to ensure my friend and I had the most pleasant experience. I made a reservation off open table for Friday night at 6:30pm, and I would recommend you do the same! Their sister restaurant up the street is so great so we wanted to try this new one out. Located on a corner with a wooden front of house and flowers lining the outdoor patio seating it's gorgeous. My friend and I opted for a dirty martini and their sunset drink (they were both super strong!) you get your bang for your buck here. We ordered the Burrata appetizer and it was light and delicious, I just wish it had come with a large portion of Burrata. I had the chicken lemon and it comes with perfectly crispy potatoes! They made this dish gluten free for me, which I really appreciate by it by eliminating the flour. They do offer gluten free pastas as well! My dish was to die for good and I took 1/2 home to eat the following day. My friend had the short rib pasta and it was divine, so indulgent with the juicy meat and the fresh pasta. She finished the plate and loved it! We were too full for dessert/ but we'll try again when we come back. I left my credit card there on accident and they were so gracious about calling me back and getting my card to me. Thank you for the prompt service! Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect those reviews at all. Despite having a reservation, our seating options were either directly on the curb, where traffic and exhaust were blowing toward the tables, or at an indoor table packed so tightly between others that it was difficult to even move without bumping into neighboring guests. More importantly, after placing our order, we waited 45 minutes with no food, no glass of wine, and no communication from staff. No one checked on us. No one acknowledged the delay. We were given no reassurance that our order had even been placed. Meanwhile, multiple parties seated after us were served their meals. We understand Valentine's Day is busy. We are patient people. But being left without service or communication for that length of time is unacceptable. We ultimately left without ever receiving our food. A simple acknowledgment or update would have changed the entire experience. Instead, we left disappointed and unfed on what should have been a meaningful evening. I hope management reevaluates how reservations and kitchen capacity are handled on high-volume nights so other couples don't have the same experience.

Ambiance plays a big role (in my opinion) to a restaurant and not getting to be seated inside or at least on a patio docked some points off for me. For a special occasion dinner, I don't want to be sitting in a parking lot tent. For the price point, I didn't really feel the restaurant quality (plating, service, ambiance) really reaches those expectations. I can tell their food is great, I think I wish I chose something different when ordering. I couldn't tell you exactly what we ordered since I think they launched a new menu just this week but I'll describe it the best I can. Espresso Martini -5/5 Great espresso martini! No notes. Burrata with pesto - 4/5 Light and refreshing appetizer. This wasn't my first choice for appetizer but my partner loves burrata so we got it. It would be really hard to mess this up so I have no notes. $20+ for one tomato was pretty shocking, though. Tagliolini with shrimp and mushrooms - 2/5 To be fair, I've never had tagliolini before so I don't have a reference point of how it should be and maybe it's just not my style. The pasta was thin and flat and very very soft. There was absolutely no bite to it whatsoever and felt like it might be over cooked (again, I'm not expert so maybe this is how it should be). Because of the texture and size it kind of was just one big soft clump on the plate. The shrimp and mushrooms were nice and I enjoyed the sauce but I really didn't like the pasta on this one. And I know plating have any affect of the food but this one seemed really sloppily thrown together and I was pretty sad when it was put on the table. Definitely wasn't pretty or exciting to look at. Pappardelle made w/ beets in quail ragu - 4/5 We really enjoyed this pasta! The pasta itself had a subtle sweetness to it from the beets which made it much more interesting than your typical pasta dough. It had a nice chew, which is what I was really missing in the other dish. The quail ragu was yummy, although we did find a bone but it was large enough to easily pick out and put to the side. Panna Cotta - 4.5/5 Thick and rich vanilla panna cotta with a tart berry compote. Very delicious!

I really appreciated that he listened instead of simply saying no. Once that was resolved, everything else was fantastic. Our server Sergio was excellent--professional, friendly, attentive, and paced the meal perfectly. The food was the highlight. We ordered several appetizers to share, including the Hamachi Sashimi, Beef Carpaccio, Roasted Heirloom Beet Salad, Spanish Octopus, and Halibut Ceviche. Every single one was beautifully plated and packed with flavor. None of the dishes missed. For our entrées, we had the Garganelli and the Cavatelli pastas, both outstanding with rich flavors. They were slightly salty, but exactly how I enjoy them. We also ordered the pork chop, which everyone else at the table absolutely loved. The restaurant surprised us with complimentary birthday ice cream, and we also ordered two desserts. The ice cream deserves special mention--it was unbelievably creamy and flavorful, honestly one of the best restaurant ice creams I've ever had. It vanished before I even managed to snap a photo. A couple of things to know before you go: * Parking is difficult, but that's simply Laguna Beach. * Corkage is on the expensive side: $40 for the first bottle and $50 for the second ($10 more for each additional bottle). Overall, Broadway impressed us with creative, beautifully executed food, warm hospitality, and attentive service. Thanks to Michael and Sergio for helping make our birthday celebration a memorable one. We look forward to returning.

We came on NYE. There was music happening at 9pm, but we…read morecame early and missed it. That was our fault. We were the only ones there. The experience was all over the map. The owner served us initially, and he was really friendly and funny. We ordered a bottle of wine, and some cocktails. We put in some salads and an appetizer, they were really really good. But after that, our server (the owner we were told) left, and another server introduced himself. The new server was inattentive. He sat chatting with the other servers at the bar, leaving empty glasses and empty plates on the table. We had to flag him to come back to fill water. Having been myself in the service industry for years, my biggest pet peeve is when servers sit and chat where you can see them, and when they do come, they don't do a sweep and take care of things on the table. We had to put our empty glasses and trash on a side table. It was weird. The bolognese had hardly any meat in it. It was mostly tomato and onion. I've been to Argentina. Meat is a staple. Also weird. We ordered dessert and after waiting for 5-10 minutes, the server came back and told us they were missing crucial ingredients to make it. The owner came back at the end and was really gracious, but all in all, I think the execution was lacking. The service was not great. The food was 3.5/5 I love to support small business, perhaps we will try again another night.

First beer release from 237 Ocean. I'm a beer guy so love that they're making their own beer now…read moresince I remember coming here when it was a brewery. It's definitely been upgraded with higher end furnishings and a farm-to-table menu. The servers and staff are always friendly and welcoming and do their best at getting to you when it's busy. We love the various types of seating with some family-style seating as well as outdoor couches and chairs to watch the people go by.
