Smoked moist brisket?
Ralph V.

Wow, what happened to Rudys?? Ordered 2lbs of moist brisket, very dissatisfied. No smoke flavor at all, no bark, doesn't even taste like BBQ. Taste like its oven baked. Maybe its just this location, ordered here before about a year ago and was hoping it had gotten better, NOPE. Ive been a fan of their BBQ in the past from other locations but this location is just not worth going back to

Banana Pudding

The bbq chicken lunch special (half chicken, side, and large tea) was great. The chicken was juicy and flavorful even without bbq sauce. The chicken leg and wing were a little small. Love the creamed corn! The banana pudding, sliced bananas in a thin vanilla pudding topped with a huge mound of whipped cream, was a sweet ending to a relaxing lunch. Team members were very kind and helpful.

Another stop to gather food to take with us to my parents. The staff was again excellent. They had all we needed like brisket, chicken, port ribs and jalapeño sausage including sides. I even chatted to a very nice customer who was a veteran. He was a regular and suggested the peach cobbler so I decided to try it. The whole meat selection was very delicious and my parents enjoyed it even the peach cobbler.

This is the first time I've been to any Rudy's and it was dead. No cars in the lot... very quiet for 12 noon. Anyhow, the ordering process took a long time. Everything is cut to order and there's only one person cutting for everyone. I got the Mac and cheese and it was very... different. Very al dente and not really cheesy. I wasn't a fan but oh well. The brisket was excellent as always. First responder and military eat free!

The food is terrible. The ribs were so dry and hard. It was like they put baby back ribs on the grill and fast cooked them so the meat was not thoroughly cooked. It was an expensive lunch at $70 for two people to be thrown in the garbage.

Compared to some of the bigger BBQ places around town, I think Harmons holds its own when it comes to quality. The ambiance also fits the BBQ experience, with a nice Western, old-school feel. They even have a cool vintage-style gas pump that adds some character to the place. The brownie was fresh and delicious, and definitely worth trying. The sides were good as well, although they were a little hard to find on the menu boards, so it took some looking to figure out the options. One thing to know is that they do not take Amex, so bring another card or payment method. Overall, good-quality BBQ without feeling like you have to go to one of the big-name spots. I would come back to try some of their other meats and sides.

There were 4 tables and island music playing which made a cozy atmosphere. My husband and I got the hapa "mix" plate and our kiddo got the chicken katsu. From beginning to end, we ate like there was no tomorrow. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, full of flavor. The kahlua pork hit the spot. And the bbq chicken is on point. The portions were more than decent sized so I was planning to save half for work tomorrow. I ended up killing the plate. We had to order a side portion of kahlua pork so I have something for lunch tomorrow. Unless I dip into it tonight. We will definitely be coming back to our new favorite spot!

The staff were super friendly and attentive from the moment we walked in, willing to answer questions and making us feel comfortable throughout our meal. The dining area is small like others have mentioned but we were able to grab a table. I certainly wouldnt lower my review because of it. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive, everything is cooked fresh to order- which I love. We ordered the hapa mixed plate and it was plenty of food for both my husband and I to share. Everything was really good, the salad dressing was delicious. If you want some amazing hawaiian food, with friendly service then give Howzit a try, I doubt you will be disappointed.

I sat down and waited approximately 10-15 minutes while the server completely ignored me. Eventually, I had to get up and walk to the counter just to get someone's attention and receive service. Once my order finally arrived, I wasn't even provided utensils to eat my sides. I had to call the number of the restaurant just to have them in order to bring me my utensils. To make matters worse, my food was cold and not warm, but actually cold. Considering the amount of time I waited, I expected my meal to at least be served fresh and hot. The lady did apologize, which I appreciated, but nothing was offered to correct the situation or make up for the poor service and cold food. Customer service plays a huge part in whether I return to a restaurant, and unfortunately, this experience made my decision very easy. I will not be returning. I hope management takes situations like this seriously and works on improving the experience for future customers.

Noticed upon entrance, a humongous outdoor space connected to both restaurants which included plenty of outdoor seating tables and a stage. It must get busy on the weekends and I assume there's entertainment. Friendly greeting upon entering and seat yourself. Lots of TVs with Chive and enjoyed the country music in the background. Excellent service! Our server was friendly and checked on us frequently. Complimentary tortilla chips with a special seasoning and queso were brought to the table . I liked the seasoning. There's also a small complimentary condiment and BBQ sauce bar- which included onions, pickles, jalapeños, regular and spicy BBQ sauce. Pickles were nice and appeared home made. I dipped my meats in combos of both sauces, I enjoyed them both. We all ordered the two meat combos $18 with your choice of two sides and served with Texas toast. I ordered the brisket and pulled pork. Both were excellent! The brisket had a nice tiny fatty edge and was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pulled pork was deelish. Good portion size too. I enjoyed the beans, but the coleslaw not so much. The slaw was bland and had no flavor. Others at my table ordered the tater tots, which were highly seasoned and had a nice crunch. We were so full, had some leftovers for the next day. Great BBQ, great service!

We arrived just as they opened. There was no one to greet us for the first few minutes. Finally, someone came out from the back to let us know that they were busy, which sounded strange since they had just opened, but when they explained about the air show it made sense. The music is loud but that's expected. It is a bar after all...that serves barbecue. We ordered at the bar and sat down. BWE and I shared the Chuckwagon Classic Plate, and we added 1/3 lb of brisket. My son had the same Classic Plate. We got the beans and fries as our sides. When our food was brought to us, the server didn't give us utensils. We had to ask her for them. The portions seemed small. The brisket was not hot. It was room temperature. The fries and beans were just okay. We were underwhelmed. This is Texas. Our expectations were high but we were disappointed. It could be that the order from the air show overwhelmed them and left them little strength to give attention to our order so I'll give them a little grace and give them two stars instead of one. We won't be back.

The restaurant has a fun, laid-back atmosphere with purple accents and purple pig décor throughout, giving it a unique personality. They also play throwback old-school music, which adds to the cool vibe. One thing that really stands out is the owners. They're incredibly friendly, welcoming, and happy to offer recommendations if you're having trouble deciding what to order. They also offer a military discount, which is always appreciated. I ordered the Texas-sized loaded baked potato topped with brisket, cheese, green onions, and their sweet BBQ sauce. It was absolutely delicious and loaded with flavor. My husband always goes for the brisket plate with a side of mac and cheese, and it's his favorite meal every time we visit. I also tried the cream corn, which was different from any I've had before. It had a peppery kick that gave it a unique flavor. To drink, we shared their homemade grape lemonade. How can you relax and have a conversation with your friends or a date if you can't hear yourselves think? The service is nonexistent and that's fine because it's your basic fast food concept. Not a problem. However, the food is more industrial based than true Texas BBQ. My brisket was very dry. They slather a lot of BBQ sauce on top of your meat. Why? Because the meat is either old or dry or both. Mine was very dry. The beans were drenched in sugar. The Mac and Cheese lacked (cheese) taste. We love good BBQ. This is not good BBQ. Compare to the Burnt Bean in Sequin and you will understand. The burnt bean runs out of product leaving long lines for their food; it's real BBQ, fresh homemade food. You can taste it.
