Food is always amazing!! I love their brisket and their jalapeño cornbread, never disappoints.

I guess I should add that the store in question is the HEB in Seguin, TX. Not sure why it is showing I am from San Francisco, CA. At any rate, I noticed that all other 1 star ratings got addressed within one day by H-E-B Customer Care. It has been over a week, and no one from customer care has responded. You would think they would have responded by now to this glaring issue. The food was terrible. Worse than terrible. I ordered a brisket plate with beans and Mac and Cheese. The brisket was dry as a bone and had zero flavor. The Mac and Cheese--let's just say I have had better made from a box than what they gave me. Even the brisket beans weren't worth anything. Over all, it was a bad experience. I will never order from there through Favor again. read more

I don't like to complain and I've made a semi negative review for True Texas BBQ in the past. You are so close to home and I really like your food. I'd give it 4 or 5 stars. Staff is pretty friendly and the atmosphere is great. Problem is with the meat portion. I paid $12.99 for a 1 meat plate then another $2.25 for a small drink. At Bill Miller I pay $11.25 for a 1 meat plate and it includes a large drink. So I paid $4 more at TTBBQ for HALF the meat, in this case turkey. In fact our grandson ordered a buckaroo plate with turkey and got the same amount of turkey that I got, 2 slices. At Bill Miller it's a stack of meat. I stopped ordering 2 meat plates at TTBBQ long ago. While yes I get 2 meats, it's still the equivalent of a 1 meat portion, and much more pricey. I don't want an apology, refund nor a gift card. Just please, be competitive with your meat portions. When ordering turkey or brisket, it should be 4 slices, at the very least 3. If you fix that issue, maybe we'll visit 2 or 3 times a month rather than once every 2 or 3 months. Just my opinion. read more

This is a pretty decent barbecue restaurant. It is located in the front corner of the Seguin HEB. However it is big and set away from the rest of the store. There is a nice selection of meats, barbecue sandwiches a, loaded baked potatoes, and sides. This restaurant is good for lunchtime if you're in the area. It taste better than Bill Miller. read more

You can't beat BBQ for a late breakfast! We pulled into H-E-B market thinking it was the address to a BBQ joint. To our surprise it was a beautiful grocery store Chain with a BBQ restaurant inside. We were third in line as they had just opened. About 10 minutes later there was a line waiting to order, that never went away. The BBQ brisket was excellent. Juicy and just the right amount of fat in the chopped brisket sandwich I had. Sides were also excellent! Wish they were closer to Arizona! read more

MY GOODNESSSSSSS!!!! Being from San Diego, I cannot believe that you can get this kind of brisket and ribs inside a local neighborhood grocery store! I ordered a pound of brisket, pound of ribs and also tried this called Texas torpedo which is a jalapeño with cream cheese inside wrapped inside a freaking brisket!! What in the actual f of legendary greatness is that?!? Everything was so freaking good! Literally mouth watering even thinking about it right now as I'm reviewing the food I got yesterday. The cashier was super friendly (most people I've encountered here in Texas are pretty darn nice honestly) and she recommended a doughnut place to check out when I go to Austin, which I cannot wait to try! I'm in Seguin, TX for the day and decided to try to this bbq. I ordered the the 3 meat plate with brisket, turkey, ribs, collard greens and brisket beans. The meat is smoke to perfection and the sides are cooked good. However, THERE IS TOO MUCH SALT. I've stopped eating it because the salt is irritating my tongue. The only thing that's not overly salted is the brisket and that's probably because you can't get the salt into a large piece of meat like that. Also, I requested sauce, there is none and no utensils to eat with. Decrease the salt and provide your customers with eating utensils and napkins. Thanks read more

Got diverted off the freeway coming back to Houston so I looked for a bbq joint that was open on a Sunday. This pulled up in yelp and since i was driving I couldn't read the fine print where it was located. I was a bit disappointed when the directions had me pulling in to an HEB parking lot but I figured I'd give it a try. They were out of ribs but I was able to get brisket and sausage along with some sides. I was extremely impressed ! Definitely will keep this on the radar when passing through Seguin in the future. I got my free baked potato today with pulled pork. It was good, but just good. I got it to go. I wish someone would've directed me to where the sauces were when I placed my order. Luckily while waiting, I wandered around to check the place out and found them in the back. If I would've gotten home without BBQ sauce I would've been upset. Both sauces were good, but I preferred the Texas style. Spicier, maybe... Half the potato was enough for lunch. Next I want to try the turkey. It looked good. I like that we have this option in Seguin since Davila's is not to my liking. Update: Went back for a half a pound lean brisket and it was as good as it gets: tender, lean, and full of flavor. It came with four slices of bread, pickles and onions. They even pointed out the sauces to me. Thank you! Sure made a great snack while at the river that day! Changing my three stars to four. I saw that they had a 4 star Yelp rating and we were looking for lunch so we thought we'd try them. When we got there, I was surprised to see that they were inside an HEB grocery store. That wasn't what I was envisioning for lunch. We were hungry so thought we'd try it anyway. We ordered at the counter and by the time we fixed our drinks, the food was ready. I ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of macaroni and cheese and my wife ordered a brisket potato. The mac and cheese was very good and creamy but could have been warmer. The brisket sandwich, however, was everything I could ask for. It had a great smoky flavor and the meat was sliced fairly thick which is how I like it. It also came with pickles, onions and barbecue sauce. My wife said her potato was very good as well. It had a good amount of pulled brisket on it as well as sour cream, chives, butter and cheese. The dining room was large and very clean. It was reasonably priced and no server tip was needed. Not the lunch I was expecting but glad we stopped. read more

I was looking for a BBQ place in Seguin in Yelp and this place popped up. I knew HEB had some BBQ restaurants and heard good things about them so we decided to check it out. I got a one meat plate with turkey, beans, and cole slaw. I was really surprised to see quite an extensive menu including a pretty large beer selection. The woman who took our order was very professional and helpful and the food was ready almost by the time we got our drinks and found a table. I also liked that they stayed true to the traditional BBQ trappings, serving the meal with bread, onion, and pickles. The food was very good and compares well to other well known BBQ restaurants.
