The ambiance is nice, they went out of their way to make it a little different. The hamburger was average, morning special in terms of seasonings. The French fries disappointed me, severely undercooked. Service was quick and we got it food the way we ordered it. (The wife thought the potatoes were very true to what a potato should taste like, but seriously, what does she know? ) $4.20 for an order of fries seems overpriced, especially considering the way they were cooked. For what they charge for a potato ( potatoes are dirt cheap) they should have decent amount of toppings. I got the original so not even expensive product. Very sparse on everything & im glad I paid for extra chives as barely any. The bacon wasent done all the way, a lot of fatty parts. It's like there was just enough of each thing on it to call it what it was!!! For the profit margin it should have been much prettier & fuller, just saying. Doubt I'd go back, Wendy's makes as good of spud!! Final thought- I totally get that prices have had to go up, everyone knows that. BUT, if you're now charging more the product should not fall short. Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by this small restaurant close to Schlitterbahn waterpark. The restaurant is very small but they make up for it with BIG potatoes. The staff is very friendly and helpfully offered recommendations. I went with the Chicken Fried Steak Spud and my girlfriend had the Brisket Spud. Both were absolutely MASSIVE and delicious! Let me tell you, these guys know they've cornered the market on their baked potatoes - and they're pretty good at it. Spuds Ranch offers a kids menu... the usual, mac and cheese; grilled cheese, and chicken tenders. My kids topped off their Lili Russet meals with some grilled cheese sandwiches and fries. It was just my husband and I and we had the fried okra (which btw was AMAZING) served hot and fresh out of the grease was the perfect starter, the steak sandwich and fresh cut fries (the steak was so flavorful and tender) that were not processed and were cut from fresh potatoes, the chicken spud (it was HUGE) that packed with flavorful tender chicken pieces and the Texas cheeseburger. Everything was great but I'd have to say my favorites were definitely the steak sand sandwich and the okra. They also have drive thru for those who are unaware like I was. I am wondering if they were having an off night because their reviews are so great, but I just did not enjoy my meal from here last Friday night. I will say they location is squeaky clean and the employees were awesome, so friendly and helpful! The food just was not very good for me, and it made me really sad. I got their mushroom swiss burger on texas toast with tots and ordered the brisket spud to go (for my husband's dinner later). The hamburger patty was completely tasteless, it had no discernable seasoning whatsoever. The cheese was melty and gooey, but all of the toppings kept falling off, making it very hard to eat. The tots were also unseasoned and over fried, so they were just kind of greasy and overly crunchy (and I LOVE crunchy things). My husband ate the spud when he got home from work, we heated it up in the oven wrapped in foil for about 15 minutes. The first thing we noticed was how greasy the meat was, there was a pool of grease under the potato. The second thing we noticed was the texture of the meat. We were expecting chopped brisket texture, but this meat was more stringy and mushy, like pulled pork. My husband said it tasted ok, and the potato itself was good, but not great. He would not get it again. Overall, I would be hesitant to try them again just because the meal really wasn't cheap, and we sadly just did not enjoy it. read more

In my case this time I enjoyed a potato with turkey and beacon. The truth is it was good, just keep in mind that they have a wide variety of extras but unfortunately even for a little extra butter you have to pay. But don't get me wrong, regardless you are going to love the potatoes or any other selection on the menu. Decided to try them out for an early dinner around 4:00pm. Walked in and was greeted immediately! We explained to the girl at the register that we had never been there before and she told us about some items on the menu that were popular. We all ordered and then had a seat in the dining area. We only had to wait about 8-10 mins before they brought out our meals and everything was piping hot! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I ordered the steak sandwich and hand cut French fries, at the suggestion of the girl taking our order, and I am really glad that I did! If I could give this place 10 stars..... I WOULD. safe to say I'm probably addicted. I have only ordered takeout from here and their truck, Spud ranch on wheels. First off it's spuds, so potatoes, but not just any potatoes... the best restaurant potatoes my family has ever had. We (5 of us total) have had the Texas spud, the brisket, and steak spud. A few times... lol. From the high quality bacon bits to the perfectly cooked potatoes and other toppings, I can't wait to try the many different spuds in the future. We have also had the frito chili pie, the drool worthy brisket sandwich (must try) and the funnel.cake.fries. guys funnel cake can't survive walking a carnival in most instances, but these do , they always arrive fresh and perfect. Not sure if it's the bag they go in or the obvious love put into the food but it's crazy they can be delivered like fresh cooked. I cannot sing their praises enough and thank everyone at these restaurants that made it so delicious. If you are a potato lover, you simply have to try. If you are a foodie, you must try. I have no complaints on the food delivery. My spud was pretty good. I got the chicken parm spud. The chicken was great on my potato. My regret after finishing was not mixing the potatoes up a little more.
