I knew I had to try authentic BBQ, and my best friend's fiancé, who's local, insisted Cooper's would not disappoint. Definitely had high expectations from him if he was talking big. You enter and it's like cafeteria style. The food lineup was a carnivore's dream: brisket, pork and beef ribs, plus sausages. Came when it was rather slow and all the meats been off the grill for awhile. However that didn't affect the flavors at all. The brisket was a standout for us girls and the beef ribs were so tender and flavorful it was favorites of the guys. Hands down, my favorites were the brisket and the beef ribs. Fell off the bone meet and a nice amount of fat to have some flavors. They were so good I took home brisket and pork ribs for my boyfriend m back in San Francisco. The beef ribs were, sadly, already gone and the next batch hadn't even come off the grill by the time we left, which just means they're in heavy demand and worth waiting for. Cooper's is the kind of place that makes a first trip to San Antonio truly memorable. Great food, laid-back vibe, and perfect for anyone craving real-deal Texas barbecue. Next visit, going back is non-negotiable If you're in San Antonio and craving BBQ, don't miss it out and the staff were super nice and sweet.

The staff was helpful and super nice to all of us, everything was very clean and ofcourse the food was absolutely amazing. We ordered a pound of brisket, 5 pork ribs, two beef ribs, and half a sausage. The brisket we got had a mixture of lean and fatty pieces giving it the best texture and flavor. The pork ribs were nice and tender but still firm enough to not fall off the bone which gave it a nice texture. The sausage was juicy and had a good snap to it, it went very well with the sauce too. We also got a couple of sides which did not disappoint. Now for the best part of the whole meal, the BEEF RIBS. The Smokey/ salty black bark around the juicy and soft meat is what Texas bbq is all about, we were non stop talking about how flavorful and juicy the beef ribs was and how we will never forget how it tasted. The staff were super friendly and answered all of our questions about the food, they even helped us bring our tray to the table since our hands were full. The dining area was super clean too, even around the self serve drinks and sauce/bean station. Overall the experience was great and my future in-laws loved the meal. We will definitely be back again when we are all in town again. The only thing I'd like to add is that if you don't get there early enough you could miss out on most of the food especially the beef ribs. It will also not be as fresh off the grill either if you don't get there when they open. Until next time!

That smoky, peppery, salty bark coupled with the tender and beautifully marbled beef rib is heaven on a plate. Brisket is a second favorite, though sometimes the fatty cut is not even as fatty as I would prefer it lol. I tried her sausage for the first time and it did boy disappoint. For the uninitiated, you walk up and order your sides (I've had the mac and it's good), then you go and get your meat from the nice people on the other counter who'll cut and slice as much or as little meat as you'd like. There's a self serve bar where you can grab pickles and white bread and onions. Sauces are on the table. Sodas and teas are self serve as well. People here are friendly and nice, always ready to help. The inside has a nice rustic modern barn feel to it. Very spacious with long benches and booths everywhere. I wished I lived nearby...I'd come here all the time! Can't wait to come back!

The variety of options they have made my heart happy as I am a person to want a little of everything! WAIT TIME & ORDERING: You have to form in a line till opening time and well worth it! Ordering is at counter, then condiments, drinks and then dessert. NOW FOOD: The Brisket was delicious and savory. I added the pickled carrots and pickles with onion on top of the barbecue sauce and was the cherry on top! I also had the brisket taco with the fixins it comes with and it was so fulfilling I didn't even need any barbecue sauce. Let me tell the pork ribs chef kiss and the meat fell right off the BONE and even the bone was tasty. I had the El Cinco sausage went perfect with the meal without out being too overpowering or spicy. You can use barbecue sauce but definitely not needed. SIDES: Cowboy beans and Mac and cheese are a must try! They are like no other place I been to and taste soooo good! In addition, to the street corn pudding. I wanted to try the others but thought I would leave for my second trip back. I will say these side complimented the brisket and so flavorful! SERVICE: The staff was very kind and helpful! Shoutout to the staff member assisting with the fixins/desserts she is the bomb.com and made going through the line easy. You could tell everyone of the staff members care and work hard to make sure the customers are taken care of! OVERALL: The food was SUPER DELICIOUS and I definitely stuffed my face. I regret I did not have room for dessert but will be back to try! Also, be on the lookout for specialty items that are not on the regular menu or on the weekends. I would recommend eating the meal with a Big Red or a Mexican coke.

The entire serving line is incredibly inefficient. Meat cutter leaves the line to go serve customers at counter. There are numerous open tables but the line is out the door. Customers have to go to 1 cashier for food and another for drinks and desserts. They serve on reusable trays but have plastic wear. Feels inconsistent for earth's sake. Trays are lined with paper that peels and gets into food. Suggestion: when customer walks in get them a clip board and menu. Have them fill out their choices. Take to cashier, pay, keep line moving and get food. Go sit down. Keeps things moving!!

All the spots in houston and Schulze's bbq is up there with any of them if not the best! I'm starting to wonder if Texas monthly is even a legit thing. Because this place could easily be number one. I'm surprised I've never heard of them because this is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Some of the best customer service too! I'm so glad I stopped in. This will be my go to every single time when I'm in Seguin, Texas. Food: everything was phenomenal! The brisket was made to perfection absolutely some of the best brisket I've ever had. The jalapeño sausage, I've never had a jalapeño sausage that good! The cheese was bursting out of the seam! The tater salad oh my God! Talk about a blast from the past if you're from Houston Texas, and remember the old Heights camp house BBQ, you will remember they had Camp house potatoes. They tasted exactly the same wow I was so happy to try that because I never thought I'd have a dish like that again in my life. The brisket rice was OK. I probably would get something else. The banana pudding was phenomenal. This is some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Easy five star review! The customer service was great. The line moved quickly and everyone was extremely nice. I will go out of my way to come here and get barbecue every single time when I'm at Seguin, Texas. This should be on Texas monthly, this should be on everyone's radar if you love barbecue! Once again, thank y'all for the amazing customer service and amazing food!

We wanted to try a little bit of almost Everything and that's exactly what we did. For sides we got, potato salad, mashed potatoes, creamed corn and macaroni. For meats we got, brisket (fatty pieces preferred) turkey, Jalapeño cheddar sausage and ribs. Everything was stellar, but the star of the show was the brisket! Probably some of the best brisket I've had in a long time. The bark was perfect and the fat had such a nice juicy flavor filled bite. Everything honestly was top notch so we were very pleased with our spread. Can't wait until they open the location in San Antonio.

When I go, I like to get down on some meat. I ordered 2 pork ribs, 2 slices of lean brisket, and 1 jalepeno sausage. Sides were green beans and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. All the meat was so dry. Even with BBQ sauce, the meat could not be revived. The green beans were basically mushy, and the mashed potatoes and gravy tasted like boxed white people flavorless food. This hurt my feelings because I have been to almost all their other locations and they are all stellar. Unfortunately, I threw almost all of it out. I didn't bother to talk to management because the last two time I went, it wasn't much better and what are they going to do? Fire up some fresh meat? I won't be back to this location any time soon. The staff were very friendly though, which is why I'm doing 2 stars.
