The salmon was cooked and although the meal was very tasty, I almost wonder if smoked salmon would have a been better choice on the toast. Hubby enjoyed The Classic breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, grits & a biscuit). The bacon was superb! The upcharge for the cheese on his grits was pricey especially since the waitress did not tell us there was an upcharge but the stone grits were delicious as well as the moist biscuit! We came back later on the Mobile Food Tour & sampled the Bananas Foster French Toast. It was to die for! Very sweet so I know I couldn't eat this as my main meal. Just found out earlier in the week that Ruby Slipper had opened in Mobile. With two appointments in Mobile I was able to fit in brunch. Since wifey was tied up at an exercise class I invited my fav daughter to tag along. We arrived at 11.30 and only had a 10 minute wait at most. This allowed us time to look the place over and see what others were enjoying. Didn't see a frowning face in the place! Our host became our server and gave us the specials of the day with several recommendatons. Baby girl started out with the Ruby Slipper which consisted of OJ and pomegranate. A great choice to start off with. I choose an ice tea. Choosing our entrees was no easy matter with their large selection. I settled for the Lousiana Omelet. Loaded with gulf shrimp, cheddar cheese, and fresh thyme. Nothing waz overbearing but perfectly blended together for perhaps the best omelet ever. A large biscuit was served with sugar cane butter to make it heavenly. Also, i had potatoes as my side. I suggested sprinkling chorizo sausage in the potatoes....but they didnt. Baby girl went with the pancake flight. 3 delicious pancakes including cinamon swirl, bacon praline, and the pancake of the day. 3 beautiful pancakes with strips of bacon on top. The food was so delicious! I had the Chicken St. Charles Bennie and the Eggs Cochon. Both of those were amazing! It was so neat that they let you mix and match! They also had some great juice choices for mimosas and morning coffees. They had a white chocolate bread pudding pancakes with white chocolate whiskey sauce! The staff was so friendly and helpful! We had the privilege of sitting at the bar with Miss Andromeda who had such a fun and outgoing personality. We had the biscuits and gravy as well as the peacemaker which was the option of 2 bennies. We had the smoked salmon Bennie and the shrimp Cortez. All of our food came out fast and cooked perfect. The flavors were very rich. We of course were sure to put it with a ruby mimosa. Wow, Yelp me please! Simply delicious and best choice we made before we headed out. The vibe of this place is fun and it's has a little bit of an old vibe too. They have a parking lot across the street and they also have street parking around. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the hostess and taken to our table. She brought a high chair for our little one. She was friendly and attentive. The whole staff that was there that morning, honestly. Our waitress came a little while after and took out order. She was friendly and super genuine. She was very knowledgeable about the food. The coffee was delicious and I want more. And they use cardboard straws for the environment. The scrambled eggs were delicious and on point! My baby vacuumed them, ha! The dill on the sauce wasn't overwhelming so I was sad for asking it to be placed on the side, but better safe than waste the food. The salmon had a great taste to it but it was a bit to scattered on the pan for too long so it wasn't moist. The chicken was juicy and tender but not crispy and not spicy. The biscuits could have been a bit softer on the edges but the dressing and sauce help moist it around. They have a full bar and offer brunch specials too. Tequila sunrise and Bloody Mary's, a few I saw around. The place was really clean and both bathrooms have changing tables in them! They have a gift shop section with stuff like cups, shirts, magnets, etc with their log for you to get if you want. Man, oh man. This place was perfect. My wife and I visited after Neptune's Daughters Mardi Gras ball. They had Mardi Gras seasonal beignets that were so good. I'm not a coffee drinker, but wifey said her mocha was tasty. Our meals hit the spot! Especially mine. The hot honey glaze that was poured over my chicken and waffles was addicting. Her southern BLT was delicious too. The fries were fresh and seasoned to perfection. Our waitress made the meal that much more enjoyable. The ambiance felt open and fresh. I've had quite a few eggs benedict to date. I had no expectations coming here, but I think I had the most delicious benedict combination of my life so far at Ruby Slipper Cafe. I had the Peacemaker, where you can choose two different benedicts, so I went with the St. Charles (fried chicken) and the red eye ham (ham marinated in coffee and other spices), both over a huge biscuit and topped with a poached egg. The husband got the hot smoked salmon Benedict, which was also incredibly tasty. I think it's better than the average benedict, because they serve theirs over a biscuit instead of an English muffin and are topped with delicious and creative sauces as opposed to the regular Hollandaise. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very hip and cute. Looks like the building used to be in an old bank. A great breakfast/brunch find in downtown Mobile! read more

Took my significant other to have a real brunch experience and it was AMAZING. Waiting time at 11am on a Sunday was less than 30 minutes to sit outside. We brought our puppy and he was very welcomed in the patio. The food and drinks were amazing, highly recommended the French toast bites and the salmon egg Benedict as well as the shrimp one. We tried the classic mimosa and the margarita and both were delicious but specially the margarita. The food taste was perfection and the amount is generous. Definitely fair price. We started out with the beignets, which were light and fluffy, not to mention the cream cheese icing topped with whip...not too sweet, but just right to get your tastebuds going. The Ruby Slipper Cafe is relatively new to Mobile, but it has already made itself one of the must-try restaurants. I have visited about half a dozen times, and each time has been absolutely fantastic. My biggest complaint is that I never know what to order - everything is so fantastic! I would highly recommend one of the benedicts; they are delicious and a good portion size. I usually get the Peacemaker, which is a mix and match of any two benedicts. I can never decide on just one benedict, so the Peacemaker helps me solve this issue. I then typically decide between the Eggs Cochon, Chicken St. Charles, Corned Beef Bennie, or the daily special benedict. You can't go wrong with any of these! I've also tried their pancakes, which were tasty. You can also order a biscuit on the side for $2. I wish they advertised this more! I ordered one once and it was HUGE. Next time, I am going to get one to go - it could be my whole dinner! read more
