[[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in you have a diner vibe- big windows, counter, booths...[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Server high energy, experienced, professional and friendly . Food is decent. Drink is tasty. French toast with chicken and hot honey- off the charts. It's got a vinegar spicy background- but it covers Sweet, sour, savory and spicy all at once. Th fresh strawberries makes the bite. I'd suggested smaller cuts of strawberries to ensure every bite has one.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great casual brunch spot with a cozy, laid-back vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The biscuits were fresh, buttery, and easily the standout of the meal. The coffee was excellent too...smooth and flavorful. Perfect place for a relaxed breakfast or brunch, and I'd definitely come back for the biscuits alone.

Was recommended by a local to try this place out and was not disappointed AT ALL!! The fried green tomatoes are a MUST GET, I mean they were just absolutely DELICIOUS! The toppings on them with their sauce is just perfection!! Coffee was solid as well--the vanilla iced latte was just right! When it came to the other food, everyone practically loved their choices! I would say, I do wish the fried chicken in the sandwich was seasoned, but hey, it was still good! Great service and looking forward to having another breakfast here soon!

The place was PACKED so I feel it would be better to let guests know there's an hour wait BEFORE seating them at a table & taking the order. We waited an hour before getting our food. I wouldn't have minded as much if the food was great but the chicken sandwich was overcooked and hard and the fries were soft droopy and not crispy! On the other hand my husband enjoyed his breakfast especially the surprise fried green tomato! The waitress was exceptional & super friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was clean with clean restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'd go try it again but only if I had a lot of time to burn or if I wanted cocktails while waiting for food.

The food was good per usual, but geez- the wait! We put our name on the list before arriving to the restaurant so no issue there. When we sat down, our server greeted us and offered drinks immediately- no issue there. But then... we waited about 30-45 mins just to get our appetizer and then another 30 for our food. The waitress did apologize many times and let us know how many orders were ahead of ours and we overheard her telling the table next to ours that most of the kitchen staff had called out so they were very backed up. Overall the experience wasn't terrible because we were patient and not famished. The table next to ours was quite upset and anxious because they said they were starving which i understand... i wish they would've let us know the kitchen situation before we sat down so we could make a choice.

I think I've officially visited all of the Ruby Slipper locations, and I can honestly say I love every one of them. This spot has a great location right off Vets and offers the same fantastic menu options I've come to enjoy. On our recent visit, we ordered the Spanish Omelette and the Country Breakfast--both arrived quickly and absolutely filled us up. I highly recommend this Ruby Slipper!

Ruby slipper is my go to when I come to NOLA. The bread pudding pancakes were rich and delicious. With them being bread pudding they were a little doughy but not bad. Super sweet. The latte was delicious not too sweet but good espresso. Service was mid, we had to send back some cold food but they were prompt with correcting the order.

Great spot to get brunch around New Orleans. They have a big menu with all tasty options. I came late on a Saturday morning and was promptly seated. I got the bacon bite things as an appetizer and let me tell you, it was delicious. I forgot to snap a picture of the biscuits and gravy, but it was great. I got a plain biscuit and fried green tomatoes to go and they were good. Reasonable prices. I absolutely love breakfast/brunch so based on the reviews, I was excited for a good experience and good food. The first red flag and a major one at that.... fake eggs. How can a breakfast restaurant serve fake eggs? You can tell as soon as the plate hit the table. They looked like mealy, cheap hotel continental breakfast eggs. I asked the waitress if they use real eggs and she said "yes we do, they come already scrambled in a bag, but if you wanted crack eggs you should have asked for crack eggs." How would I know to ask? It's not noted on the menu or on any signs that I saw and who would ever think to ask a breakfast/brunch restaurant "do you serve real eggs?" Not to mention our biscuits were not hot, the white gravy had separated, they forgot the cream cheese drizzle on our cinnamon swirl pancake and the grossest part is the syrup container was coated in crusty, dried syrup with fresh syrup running down the front. The whole meal was a complete disappointment. read more

We were staying at a local AirBnB in Kenner, so we bought some groceries and made breakfast there to save on money during our vacation in New Orleans. We had to check out of the AirBnB this past weekend on Saturday morning by 10 o'clock and we had 3 hours to spare before we headed to the airport. We were told again and again by our Lyft and Uber drivers that the Ruby Slipper was the place to go to for breakfast. We went there... and we're glad we took everyone's advice! We had all of our luggage with us and they were kind enough to watch it upfront for us while we ate. As new customers, we were greeted with a free appetizer of French toast bites. Those were so good, it made me want to slap my mom. I had never tried shrimp and grits before, so I ordered that, and it was quite lovely. The cane butter is where it's at!!! You have to put it on their homemade biscuits. Carolina, the hostess, was very friendly and accommodating. Our waitress, Rebecca, was very sweet and kind as well. The service and hospitality of this place was amazing for a little breakfast diner. We'll definitely be back to make a mattress out of those biscuits! read more

My sister and I walked in & immediately was freezing, so we decided to sit outside. Well it was cold there too, but the owners came to put the heaters on.... but then they were out of propane!! Y'all why did the boss go to the gas stations to purchase propane for us to use the heaters!!!! That was EXTREMELY kind!! Food 10/10 and our server was just great as well. If you're anywhere near Metairie and not stopping at The Ruby Slipper, you're doing brunch wrong. We came in with a large party, and not only was the food out of this world, but we had the absolute pleasure of being served by Ronnie--who is, without question the best server we have ever had. Ronnie was phenomenal from the moment we sat down. He handled our big group with grace, humor, and a level of attentiveness that truly went above and beyond. Clever, funny, and completely on top of it--Ronnie made sure every cup stayed filled and everyone was happy (and laughing). Now, let's talk food--because WOW. The Eggs Cochon were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, the French Toast Bites were addictive, the Peach Beignets were dreamy, and the Mix and Match Benedicts let us try a little of everything. And the drinks? Perfectly crafted and dangerously good. Every dish we tried was a 10/10. This place has officially become a must-visit every time we're in town. The food is spectacular [[HIGHLIGHT]]it's always crowded because it's a very good place to eat[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] but the problem I have if there's a problem here is [[HIGHLIGHT]]they keep it blistering cold in here to the point where it's uncomfortable even if you have a light jacket or long sleeve shirt[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I've eaten at this location twice and have come to the conclusion that there are better Ruby Slipper locations in the area. The beignets have consistently been good! My favorite dish is the Eggs Cochon and the portion size was significantly smaller at this location. I was still hungry when I finished it. On my most recent visit, I ordered an item with fried catfish. I can't remember the name but the fish was fried nicely, although lacking flavor. Service has always been good so no complaints there! Parking is a bit of a headache. Either get there early or you'll likely have to make several laps before finding a spot. The wait list is a must as well! read more

Alw crowded is the Ruby Slipper way but we don't mind the bar, so be flexible. The look is like every other Ruby Slipper, wordy but bright. Lots of info on their specials and history are posted. Nice free parking lot, good service but its Mardi Gras season and diners are also in competition with pick up orders. Service is good, but it's not super quick. Most every drink is strong and comes well before the food; so pace yourself baby. Not super cheap but fair prices. The grits tend to be runny and the French toast bites a little greasy but everything else is good. Worth it if it fits your time mandates. read more

She didn't rush us or make us feel uncomfortable when we enjoyed some conversation after we ate. Same great food, service and feel as other locations throughout the city! Parking here is a little easier than the Metairie Rd. location. We got the loaded tots today and they were so good! Made with the same pork debris as the eggs cochon and a delicious Tasso cream sauce. I can't wait to go back and get these again. One thing I can say about this place is that they have some really good service. Waiters and waitresses are always cool and easy to talk to. The ambiance is cool but the food is hit or miss. This place was amazing. We are visiting for a wedding, this is one of the breakfast places that was highly recommended. It did not disappoint! Honestly, the server Ronnie made it 10x better, he was incredibly helpful in navigating the menu, patient with us being out of staters and even gave us great tips about the city! I got the southern breakfast, my husband got the shrimp and grits and we got beignets to share. Everything was delicious! read more

My food was good. I had a few burned French toast bites and the chicken was the star of the dish. I sat at the bar and there was only one other patron. I was hopeful because I was offered a drink immediately. Then downhill everything went... I received my watermelon margarita wasn't asked my preference of rim condiments... my food came out and I sat for about five minutes to get my attendants attention and thankfully there were two people working the bar... I grabbed the attention of the other staff and she secured me a set of utensils. As I ate, I finished my water first... really wanted more it wasn't until I asked as she was not attentive to the guests at the bar. This was Saturday around 1:30pm... I've had better serve here... This was phenomenal. I also got a regular glazed donut. This was not that good. It's too dense and too thick. I like my glazed donuts to be light and airy; I want it to almost melt in my mouth. All of District's donuts are thick. Most of them are good especially the banana pudding donut. The issue is these aren't really donuts more like cakes or just a dessert. If you are coming to get your order to go this place is fine but if you want to hang out, I prefer the other locations.

There's something on the menu for everyone, the food is consistently delicious, and the service is top-notch (shoutout to our server John). Be prepared for a bit of a wait during peak brunch hours, but trust me, it's totally worth it. On this visit, we made sure to try the ROASTED SWEET POTATO SEASONAL BEIGNETS, and they were absolutely amazing--definitely a must-order. For an appetizer, we went with the FRIED GREEN TOMATOES, which were topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and bacon jam. Honestly, this could've been an entrée on its own! By the time my main course arrived, I was already pretty full, but I went ahead with the PEACEMAKER, which lets you mix and match two of their benedicts. I opted for the BAYOU SHRIMP and ST. CHARLES, and while I may have bitten off more than I could chew, everything was so delicious that I'm glad I had a chance to try it all. I stopped by Ruby Slipper for lunch and was thoroughly impressed. The Gouda grits, fried chicken, and Brussels sprouts made for a fantastic midday meal. The creamy grits were full of flavor, the fried chicken was crispy and juicy, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly roasted with just the right amount of seasoning. This was a special moment for me. I was getting brunch with my niece. i haven't seen my niece is 5-6 years. I am not from the area so this was my first time here.
