The food is SO good! Everything on the menu looked so appetizing it was hard to choose. The inside has a great aesthetic, very open and charming. Service was incredible, had the best time chatting with our server Brandy, will definitely have to come back to try more food and catch up with Brandy!! read more

Ruby Slipper Marigny - Biscuits and Biscuits & Gravy with their delicious Classic Buttermilk Pancake - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Yum! The shrimp and grits and breakfast tacos were fantastic. The bacon Bloody Mary had great flavor. Definitely check it out

This spot was on my list of places to visit while in New Orleans. I didn't know there were several locations. Luckily, we made it to this location and there wasn't a wait. This location is located in a residential area so you'd need to find street parking. This restaurant has a smaller, intimate setting with a bar conveniently located in the middle of the restaurant. We were seated right away and the waiter here was very friendly. He was sure to keep us laughing with his jokes and accommodate our needs. I decided to build my own omelet since none of the omelets had exactly what I needed. The omelet came with a giant biscuit and grits to die for! I don't believe I've ever had grits that good. Either the portions were too small or the food was just that good because I was able to finish my food (I never do this) and leave satisfied and full. They also have a variety of breakfast cocktails and coffees. I was feeling risky and ordered a boozy iced coffee. All in all, everything met my expectations and I Wouldn't mind returing. read more

Great food great service. Pretty loud but that was ok. Would come again. (I had the corned beef hash Royale)

Great Saturday brunch with my daughter. She enjoyed the French toast bites, and my breakfast platter was cooked perfectly.

I had a basic breakfast omelet with grits, sausage links, and a Peach Bellini (but what I really wanted was the Lavender Paloma). I settled on the Peach Bellini, because I felt like it was the civilized thing to do considering we were there for brunch and flying out shortly after. What I should have done was start with the Peach Bellini and then chase it with the Lavender Paloma. I will just have to return to Ruby Slipper Cafe on my next trip and make things right with myself (and NOLA). Everything I ordered was delicious. We came just before the rush but wasn't able to get our order in within enough time; therefore, we ended up waiting quite awhile for our food to hit the table. These are just some parting notes, place your food order right away and order yourself two drinks at a time : ) read more

Great appetizers (try cinnamon bites) great coffee (they do special seasonal ones here. Great entries that are filling(Try them all) . Great staff here. The ambience is great, away from the hustle and bustle of the city but an easy 15 minute walk to get back in it. Historic building that still looks like a bank in the inside. read more

Ruby Slipper Marigny - Morning margarita - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

Herman brought such a smile to my face and joy to my heart as I ordered my food this morning. Had the loaded tots - AMAZING!!!!! Omelette - just the way I wanted it. The vanilla spiced latte....sweet!!! But I love coffee with my sugar and the whipped cream on top made it cool enough to drink. Great atmosphere. Enjoyed it!! Hope you do too! read more

First of all, the atmosphere is incredible. You walk in and are greeted with kindness. Our server was incredible and full of energy and gifted us a free starter!! Who doesn't love free things? We split the eggs benny trifecta, crawfish and grits, and a salmon avocado toast. Everything was delicious and cooked so well. 10/10 recommend. read more

Great Brunch spot. Very diverse menu. I had the seasonal Honey Ham Benedict special that was out of this world. The ham was so flavorful, it was crispy and sweet, but savory, hard to describe. It was so delicious. And the crispy onions on top, YUM. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, and I noticed how they all got along so well, and were in such good moods. That tells you a lot about the business when the employees are happy. Great location, outside seating and plenty of seating inside. Really cool eclectic atmosphere. read more

Oh man, if you're in New Orleans and you don't do one brunch at Ruby Slipper, you are missing out. No, they don't take reservations. Yes, there will be a wait. It. Is. Worth. It. Plus, while you're waiting, you can have one of their amazing Bloody Mary's with all the things in it. Trust me, get the one with the bacon. Their benedicts and beignets are all pretty amazing, once you get seated, as well as the bananas foster french toast. Honestly, I've never had anyone order anything here that they said was bad. All good choices! read more

The food is amazing and the staff couldn't be better, especially Patrick who saved our morning

Our server Jaleal B was so knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients and all of the options on the menu. She made our day! So friendly, warm and welcoming we felt at home right away! The omelette was perfect! So fluffy! The fried green tomatoes were a mystic experience. There is no place like home! We love the Ruby Slipper! Thank you Jaleal! - from Chef Liz read more

We stopped in here on a very hot day for cocktails and a rest. Lots of staff. Cute place.

Just left this location because the waitress was unattentive and unsanitary. Observed waitress using her bare hands to add lemon to my water. Was seated and took 20 minutes before anyone ever came to the table. I was there trying to celebrate my birthday. I don't recommend this location. I've been to the other location near Canal and had a great experience. But this location lackluster customer service, was a disappointment. read more

The food and service was so fantastic. I had the fried chicken benedict and felt like I had dies and gone to heaven. Wow, yesssss! Service was great, our server Terry made us feel welcomed and she was full of energy! The loaded tater tots was a pleasure and filled with your mama love!! I'll say, the portion are a perfect size. Think French cuisine meets brunch and they say, hey let's make it fabulous but not make you uncomfortable after! Haha I must say, the crawfish & grits cake are a must! If not, you will be missing out. The flavors came together with ease and so tasty. The chicken Charles was very tasty. The biscuits are very authentically southern, made to perfection. Avocado toast was Yummo! If you have to wait, I suggest doing that with their Bloody Mary, a tasty one to pass the time! read more

We really like this place. Consistent food, fun environment. I love their omelettes. Service is a little on the slower side but everything always comes out hot and yummy! read more

I had my first Ruby Slipper Bloody Mary sixish years ago and every time I have had a Bloody Mary since I've been disappointed that it isn't as good. So on my latest visit I was looking forward to having my favorite Bloody Mary at this new location -- and it didn't disappoint. And neither did the rest of the menu. I introduced my BFF and sister in law to Ruby Slipper and got them hooked, too. The menu is full of variety and flavors and the staff are the friendliest, most helpful and funny people around. The wait is well worth it, but I recommend you reserve a table ahead, especially on the weekend. They have some outdoor tables, but not a lot, and limited seating at the bar. The eggs cochon are one of my favorites -- pork, biscuits, and a heavenly hollandaise sauce. It's filling and rich and perfect for brunch. We also shared the French toast bites and candied bacon -- divine and delicious. The rest of the table had a Florentine egg white omelette and classic biscuits and gravy. We were all members of the clean plate club and everyone agreed to return the following day for brunch. On all three visits our servers were excellent -- friendly, fast, and made excellent recommendations. We were never left wanting and appreciated seeing all the smiling faces, even when the place was slammed with tables. I really cannot recommend this place enough. I've been impressed with every location (Canal Street, Magazine Street, and now this one) over the years -- you just can't go wrong. read more

My daughter and I came here for a quick breakfast before leaving town. We were seated promptly but then waited for a little while before we were able to order. In fact in the time it took the waitress to come take our order, she had actually gone to other tables and taken their orders first, so I was a little nervous that our wait time would end up being much longer than expected. As it turned out, food came out relatively fast so it was not too long of a wait after all. I ordered a cup of hot coffee and my daughter ordered a specialty coffee drink. We ordered one of the seasonal beignets, which had an almond, blueberry, and cream cheese topping. For $7, we were a little disappointed when the beignets came. While there were four beignets, they were all really small. Also, the beignets were much harder than expected, and were actually very difficult to chew. My daughter had a cheese omelette with potatoes, And I went with the peacemaker, choosing two of the benedicts from the list. I wanted the Eggs Cochon and the corned beef, but they were out of the corned beef so I ended up with the chicken Saint Charles instead. The benedicts were both delicious. Service could've been a little better, but it definitely could've been worse. I waited a long time while they made fresh coffee, both at the beginning and then again for a refill. In the end, it was fine. read more

The place was packed the Sunday morning we were there, (we were in New Orleans for the Taylor Swift concert and there were Swifties everywhere), The wait was over an hour but the staff was so patient and kind. The hostess whose name started with a D but I can't remember completely went out of her way to accommodate us despite being extremely busy. Our server, Remy, was also amazing. The food was excellent. I highly recommended the Bloody Mary and the Trifecta. read more

It was Mardi Gras time so it was busy, I get it, but the service, albeit friendly, was slooooooooooow. I know this is the south and things tend to move slowly, but uh, can we eat today?' Our server was great, very friendly and sweet. Food was yummy, the fried green tomatoes were a joy, salad was also pretty yummy. Would I return, sure, I just hope to get our order taken a teensy bit quicker. read more

This spot was on my list as soon as I booked my flight to New Orleans. Finally made it here with my boyfriend on our last day. We were greeted promptly and greeted by our server Jonathan. Jonathan was great and very friendly. We started with coffee. It was delish and fresh. For my meal I had the biscuits and gravy. It came with eggs, bacon, and a fried green tomato. Everything on this plate was absolutely delicious in flavor. The sausage gravy was one of the best I've ever had. Biscuit was airy and delish. This meal was made with love. My boyfriend had Bananas Foster Pain Perdu. Delicious as well. It was nice to see it was made with a baguette vs other bread. He enjoyed it a lot. I had a bite and enjoyed it as well. We also got a side of chorizo and a side of pork sausage. The chorizo as also the best we've had. A super delicious, filling and fresh breakfast! read more

I am surprised at all the reviews raving about Ruby Slippers as we did not have a good meal here. I came here for breakfast with friends. I ordered the pig candy to start and the biscuits and gravy as my meal. There's an option to add a fried green tomato for $1, so I did that. Another friend ordered the fried catfish and grits and another friend ordered the fried green tomato benedict. The pig candy was underwhelming. It didn't taste candied at all, it tasted like they just pour maple syrup on the regular bacon. My biscuits and gravy were equally underwhelming. And the food was lukewarm not hot. The fried green tomato that I paid extra for was so burnt and flat it was hard to even tell it was a tomato. I literally (and politely) gave it back to the server immediately. I wish I would've taken a pic before I did. My friend who ordered the fried green tomatoes said her home fries were not only cold but burnt on the outside and uncooked on the inside. She asked them to be remade but the remade ones they sent out tasted the same (burnt and uncooked). Only one of us liked their food (she ordered the shrimp and grits). The rest of us all agreed it was underwhelming. The service also left something to be desired. Our server was nice, but we had to ask more than once for simple things like ketchup or water. Pains me to say but I would not come back to Ruby Slippers. read more

Gosh, the hype is real. We were lucky to snag a table without a reservation + waitlist but we saw ample seating at the bar. Our server was fantastic! And the food was extraordinary! This is the comfort food that you come to New Orleans for. The beignets were scrumptious and the shrimp and grits was everything I dreamt it would be! There was so much flavor in every bite, it's certainly a dish for two because it's hearty! The biscuit was buttery and flaky and the drinks are poured heavy ;) read more
