We were only in LA for about 24 hours, so not a lot of time or a a lot of places to visit. We were greeted and sat as soon as we walked in. Our waitress was great. I'm glad we came here. We got the breakfast tacos, it was different, but that's what I liked about it. I think for me, it was the tortillas that made it taste different, not in a bad way. But the desert......That set it off. It was more than the just bread with powdered sugar on it. It was peach, and it had cream around it! It wasn't Ice cream, but it was like Ice cream, but not cold. I know, I know it's hard to explain I would recommend checking Ruby Slipper out.

It was just ok. Nothing to rave about at all. We ordered cranberry juice but the server decided to give us cranberry with orange juice. We ordered a mimosa flight (the price was good but the flavors were just ok), I had fish and grits. The grits were cool or room temperature in some parts and kind of hot under the fish and they gave me three little pieces of fish with a big crusty and dry biscuit. My friend had the Tex mex an he said it was decent. For almost $70 on breakfast I was not impressed at all.

Only took off one star because of our last visit. October.1 Had such a great experience from start to end. 5 star experience. Jack is a delight! Attention and service 10/10. He even gave us a little history about the place and town. We definitely decided to come back on our last day which was Friday October.3. It was much busier but still not too packed inside. We were told to wait to be called for a table for 3. I wanted to ask to have jack again but it was too late we got called. We had a different server. And this time around it wasn't such a good experience. He had a bit of a standoffish attitude from the start. The small talk seemed fake as he was just with a straight face no smile so we didn't know if we should smile laugh or stay serious. This was a complete 180 from our first experience. At one point one of the cooks came out and started a convo with us while the server was there and his attitude was 1000x better and good energy. He made a joke we laughed and the server was still straight face looked annoyed. At that point we wanted to leave. We paid cabs and he just stared the whole time while my sister was counting the cash making sure we got it right. We also didn't get a receipt. (Jack gave us a receipt to go box and a bag) With this server we asked for a to go bag and it was a huge box no bag we didn't even want to ask for one because he would have said something smart back to us. If we're ever back in town we will 100% be there Tuesday-Fridays and ask specifically for jack. It was such a pleasure meeting you jack!!! Hope to see you again.

Delicious/ wonderful food. Would love to visit again! The eggs Benedict were perfect and the banana bread pancakes were delicious.

Decided to pop into this neighborhood restaurant today for a quick bite to eat before heading home, When we arrived it felt like a domestic as the servers argued who got the next table. The food was ok We got the fried chicken sandwich and the banana fosters French toast. The French toast looked like we were in the bayou , that bread was swimming! It looks like a fun little place to get drinks and hang out love the decor.

Came on a Monday morning at 8am and we were the 3rd party there haha. Probably to be expected but at first we thought we were at the wrong place! The restaurant is cute and quaint with booth seating and regular seating and decorations all around the walls. Trifecta: we loved the trifecta Benedict, especially the shrimp one! It was so flavorful and the combination of different flavors was amazing. Would highly recommend this trifecta so you can try all their classic Benedict's. Fried Catfish with Grits: also a solid order! The flavor was a little bland after eating the Benedict but having the grits was a nice comfort food in the morning. It was kind of like having Chinese porridge! I would've ordered the Shrimp & Grits instead, as others did. Berry Chantilly Pancakes: nice and fluffy! The berries were lightly sweetened in syrup and there was a generous amount of cream. A lovely way to end the meal. Service was good. Our waitress refilled our coffees and milks twice and helped to explain the menu. Overall, a good experience and would love to come back on another visit to NOLA

Service was a little slow but worth the wait. It is New Orleans after all and they were down a few people being out sick. Food... so start with Fried Green tomatoes which I got as my meal. It was pretty good even though they were out of the sweet stuff for the top. No I can't remember the name. Two of my friends got the Trifecta. It was a LOT of food. Other than some of the biscuits being overcooked it was just fantastic. My other friend got the biscuits and gravy with some sweet heat chicken on the side. Everything was worth the wait and we would definitely come back again. Next trip of course. We have too many places we want to try this trip. Jack was our server and he was helpful and nice.

Go for the beignets and stay for the people watching. Like the food court at the Mall of America's, you'll see every walk of life come to Cafe Du Monde. I had the chance to come back to the city last weekend, when a good friend from my Italy days was in town for a conference. I was able to meet her to explore the city for a day, and we of course had to make room for beignets and Cafe du Monde. We almost settled for one of the locations at an indoor mall, but we stuck out a 20-30 min walk from where we were to make it to the original at the French Quarter. Since it was just two of us, we were able to get seated pretty quickly even though there was an expected Saturday morning line. I am also glad my friend had cash because they STILL only accept cash for payment. No credit cards, which is wild at any US establishment nowadays. We also tried to only order one plate of beignets (come in a set of 3) and one coffee each but the server came back with two beignet plates and coffees. $20 with tax included! The beignets themselves were scrumptious, warm, and delicious ofcourse. So I suppose worth any inconvenience that we may have experienced. However, the tables are left incredibly messy. It is true that our server did wipe off our table before we sat down but it is embarrassing to see patrons create such a mess to begin with.

I was in New Orleans for the 2026 Jazz and Heritage Festival, so my mornings were my own. I travel alone and don't always look for reservations when planning on a meal in this city. Streetcar Café is a perfect choice for what I was looking for: ample breakfast choices, a full bar, and excellent service by Andres. I ordered two poached eggs ($3.50), a single pancake ($4.50), and hash brown potatoes ($4). Totally reasonable pricing, and excellent meals, topped with the Always Summer (Malibu rum, Triple sec, OJ, Pineapple juice, Grenadine, $13). The place filled up pretty quickly after I arrived at around 10 a.m. Andres did an outstanding job of keeping track of my order, and served up the menu items piping hot. Couldn't finish it all, but it was a best-choice for brunch this morning.

We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing.
